That night, they slept together, but they didn’t do anything. They just held each other. Huo Youqing curled up in Dai Yixin’s arms, listening to him talk about how he had spent the past six years.

Hearing that Dai Yixin had spent four years in a hospital, Huo Youqing gently patted his head. “Do you still need to take medication?”

“No, not anymore,” Dai Yixin whispered. “The doctor said I’m completely cured. Only then did I dare come find you.”

Huo Youqing didn’t know much about psychology, so he believed him. As sleepiness crept over him, he slowly closed his eyes, his last conscious thought being the feeling of Dai Yixin kissing his forehead.

The email contained a detailed report on the condition of two patients over the past month.

Dai Yixin, who was awake, noticed the phone light up but didn’t reach for it. He simply gazed at the sleeping figure in his arms, his eyes tracing every feature with a greedy intensity.

At the same time, one of his hands moved to his own head.

His long fingers, as if searching for piano keys, stopped at a particular spot, pressing his palm and fingers against it.

There was no surgical scar on the skull.

“I love you,” Dai Yixin whispered to the rose in his arms, speaking slowly, like a child learning to talk. “You are mine.”

You are mine.

And I am yours.
