After Being Deceived, I Married Someone Else and Had Children Chapter 37

Gu Heng didn’t feel the slightest bit ashamed.

Instead, he laughed even harder, his dark eyes flashing with bright amusement, his grin wicked and alive as he raised the model higher, taunting the furious, flustered Zuo Shihuan.

“No, I’ll laugh if I want to — hahaha!”

Zuo Shihuan’s jaw tightened, his fists clenching.

“If you beg me, maybe I’ll stop laughing,” Gu Heng teased, eyes gleaming like a devil’s. “Come on, say ‘please.’ Maybe even act a little cute — though I’ve never seen such a tall Alpha trying to act cute before. It’d be strange, sure — but if you’re willing to do that, Zuo Shihuan…”

He tilted his head, smiling like a predator.

“…then maybe I’ll give you anything you want.”

Gu Heng raised his brows, as though seriously wondering what it would look like if an Alpha acted cute, his eyes gleaming with curiosity as he looked expectantly at Zuo Shihuan.

That look of eager anticipation made Zuo Shihuan’s skin crawl.

Even he couldn’t imagine what he would look like trying to act cute — besides, how could an Alpha possibly do that? Wasn’t that sort of thing reserved for petite, sweet-tempered Omegas?

Wait— why was he even thinking about such nonsense?

Obviously, this b*stard Gu Heng was just trying to distract him, still causing trouble even while lying on the ground!

Zuo Shihuan clenched his fists, itching to land a punch on that smug, handsome Beta who wouldn’t stop showing off even flat on his back.

But in the end, he held himself back.

Definitely not because he was going soft over that annoyingly attractive face.

His gaze quietly shifted to the mecha model wobbling precariously in Gu Heng’s hand, worried that the infuriating man might drop and break it by accident.

Zuo Shihuan decided he’d sneak it back and then immediately leave this troublemaker behind.

Feigning nonchalance so Gu Heng wouldn’t suspect, he threw out a few perfunctory remarks to keep the banter going while inching closer, every muscle tense, his peripheral vision locked on the model.

“How’s that thinking coming along?” Gu Heng asked.

“Not great.”

“Still looking for a replacement? As if anything in this world could replace me.” Gu Heng flashed a cocky, self-assured grin.

Zuo Shihuan shot him a sideways look — that arrogant, punchable confidence, paired with a face so elegant it was unfair. He rolled his eyes and didn’t bother arguing, only giving a dismissive hum in response.

One hand pressed against the ground as if to stand, but his feet were inching ever closer — slowly, carefully — to where the model rested near Gu Heng’s other hand.

Unconsciously, he held his breath.

From the corner of his eye, he tracked Gu Heng’s movements. The man was still laughing to himself, teasing him, completely unguarded.

Zuo Shihuan waited. When Gu Heng’s arm finally dropped, his hand — the one holding the model — brushed the floor.

Just one more reach away.

Then Gu Heng’s gaze flickered, and he smiled faintly. “Zuo Shihuan, how’s your thinking coming along now?”

Zuo Shihuan’s pupils tightened. No more pretending. He lunged straight for the mecha model, snapping back only one sharp retort—

“Keep dreaming!”

To h*ll with acting cute — the b*stard was clearly toying with him.

If he just reached out now, he was sure he could snatch it back. There was no way he’d ever yield to Gu Heng!

But just as Zuo Shihuan’s hand was about to touch the model, something unseen brushed his lower back — a hand.

A soft laugh followed.

Too focused to care, Zuo Shihuan ignored it and reached forward — but Gu Heng was faster.

An arm slipped around him, catching his waist.

His center of gravity gave out. His knees buckled before he could react, and the world tilted — his gaze dropping to Gu Heng’s relaxed, handsome face just before—

He fell straight into Gu Heng’s chest.

Gu Heng lazily raised the mecha model high again with one hand, the other firmly circling Zuo Shihuan’s waist, holding him in place. His brow lifted slightly, his tone drawn-out and maddeningly smug.

“Are you sure I’m the one dreaming?”

Zuo Shihuan’s mind went white with fury.

He understood everything now.

That b*stard had seen through him long ago — pretending to relax, deliberately baiting him into making a move, just so he could snatch the model away again at the perfect moment.

How could someone be this infuriating!

“Give it back! Right now!”

Zuo Shihuan was livid, biting his lip red, pride forgotten as he reached out to grab it.

But Gu Heng only provoked him further, his voice lazy and teasing: “Sure, come get it yourself.”

And he raised the model even higher.

Fire flashed in Zuo Shihuan’s eyes. Enough was enough.

He moved without hesitation, stepping right over Gu Heng’s leg, one hand braced on his chest as he leaned forward — all his weight pressing down on him.

He almost wished he weighed more, just to crush that smirk right off his face.

But as soon as he shifted, the arm around his waist tightened like iron.

He tried to push himself up — several times — hand already reaching for the model.

Every time, Gu Heng yanked him back down, undoing all his effort.

Refusing to give in, Zuo Shihuan tried again and again — but somehow that d*mned Beta’s strength was unbelievable. Even as an Alpha, Zuo Shihuan couldn’t break free. Each attempt ended the same: him toppling right back into Gu Heng’s chest.

It looked embarrassingly like he was throwing himself into his arms.

And that b*stard still had the nerve to laugh!

By now, Zuo Shihuan’s face was flushed red from exertion, his light brown eyes shimmering with angry tears, his breath coming fast. The arm around his waist stayed firm and steady, immovable as a wall.

“Let go of me!” he ground out through clenched teeth, glaring daggers.

But Gu Heng wasn’t the kind of man who’d back down when threatened. Instead, he tightened his grip, laughter bubbling up bright and unrestrained.

“No way. Go on — try to break free, oh mighty, noble Young Master Zuo, the great Alpha heir—”

Zuo Shihuan had no choice but to brace his palms against Gu Heng’s chest, fury making his breath tremble. The deep, maddening laughter vibrated through the man’s body beneath him, the sound and warmth brushing against his ear until it tingled.

He wanted to get up — but didn’t move. His face was flushed, his glare sharp as a blade, fixed on that infuriating hand at his waist. He tried prying it off with both hands.

But no matter how hard he pulled, it wouldn’t budge.

He’d used up nearly all his strength — and even when he’d been just a Beta, he’d never been weak. He’d worked docks, carried crates, even fought underground matches just to survive.

How could he not even pry off a single one of Gu Heng’s fingers?

By the end of it, Zuo Shihuan was utterly spent, his eyes unfocused, black hair damp with sweat, lips slightly parted as he gasped for breath. His cheeks were burning red, yet his hands still refused to let go.

He began doubting reality—since when did a Beta have such strength?

What he didn’t know was that Gu Heng wasn’t truly a Beta at all, but a top-tier S-class Alpha disguised as one—his muscle density dozens of times higher than that of ordinary people. With strength alone, he could wrestle the massive Zerg to a draw, even spar with mech soldiers in physical combat.

Gu Heng figured he’d teased him enough. If he kept going, he really would make Zuo Shihuan angry to the point of tears—and that’d only be trouble for himself.

So he finally released him.

Gu Heng gave a light cough, feigning guilt. “See? I let go. Just now… I was only playing with you. Thought you might say something nice and I’d let you go.”

He really shouldn’t have said that—Zuo Shihuan, exhausted as he was, still pushed himself up and glared at him furiously.

Seeing the spark of rage in those pale brown eyes, Gu Heng finally felt a flicker of conscience. He lowered the mech model that he’d been holding high, his tone softening. “Here, I’m giving it back.”

But Zuo Shihuan’s attention was no longer on the model he’d been so desperate for moments ago. All he saw was the infuriating man who’d been toying with him all along.

He shoved Gu Heng’s hand aside, and without warning, bit down on his neck—hard. The pale brown of his eyes sharpened like a wolf’s, leaving a row of distinct teeth marks. Even if he couldn’t overpower Gu Heng, he’d make sure the b*stard remembered this.

Gu Heng’s hand came up to cradle the back of his head, not stopping him, just stroking gently—placating him like a furious little beast baring its fangs.

Until the faint taste of blood spread between Zuo Shihuan’s teeth.

He froze.

The heat in his head vanished in an instant. The metallic tang filled his mouth, staining his dry lips red. Only then did he realize he’d actually hurt him. Guilt flickered across his pale brown eyes.

Gu Heng noticed him suddenly stop and frowned slightly in confusion.

He didn’t mind being bitten. Better that than letting Zuo Shihuan’s temper boil over to the point of tears. A little wound like that would scab in minutes—he could take a few more bites and be fine.

Besides, he was feeling guilty himself. When Zuo Shihuan had first told him to leave, he’d been angry—wanted to make Zuo Shihuan understand that he wasn’t someone who could be replaced.

But then, watching Zuo Shihuan glare at him—those fire-bright eyes, stubborn and beautiful—Gu Heng couldn’t help it. The more defiant he became, the more Gu Heng wanted to push him, tease him, keep his attention. He’d gotten carried away.

Sitting up, Gu Heng ruffled the top of Zuo Shihuan’s head. His dark eyes softened with an affection he didn’t even recognize in himself, but his lips still curved into that teasing, mischievous smile.

“What’s wrong? Not biting anymore?”

Zuo Shihuan stayed silent, expression low.

Gu Heng couldn’t stand seeing him quiet. He cupped the back of his head, leaned close until their faces almost touched, and met his gaze. “Don’t tell me you broke a tooth?”

Zuo Shihuan turned away, lips pressed tight. “No.”

Gu Heng leaned closer still, feigning concern. “Then why do you look so lifeless?”

“I said no means no—” Zuo Shihuan snapped, reaching up to push him away, but when his eyes met Gu Heng’s deep, worried gaze, his hand hesitated, his movements unconsciously softening.

“Really… I didn’t.” He lowered his eyes, voice faint.

“I don’t believe you. What if my neck was too hard and broke your teeth? Come on, let me take a look.”

As he spoke, Gu Heng actually reached out, trying to pry his mouth open to check.

Zuo Shihuan froze, wide-eyed, staring as Gu Heng leaned in. His long lashes brushed against Zuo’s nose, tickling lightly. Those proud, dark eyes looked straight into his, warm and teasing, carrying a tenderness that felt almost intimate.

It almost felt like Gu Heng was someone close to him.

Zuo Shihuan could barely recall the cold, aloof man he’d first met—the one who’d treated everyone else like strangers.

Now all he could see was this vivid, handsome, sharp-tongued young man in front of him.

Gu Heng’s fingertips touched his lips, actually prying them open to look.

“See? Your teeth aren’t broken.”

Too close.

So close their breaths tangled together, noses almost touching. He could see each of Gu Heng’s eyelashes clearly; those proud black eyes reflected only him, filled with a warmth that almost felt like heat.

And that faint smile—meant only for him.

That’s cheating.

Zuo Shihuan couldn’t lie to himself—his heart was pounding too fast, hammering in his ears. His fingers trembled.

He couldn’t resist Gu Heng’s closeness.

He could move away—he knew he could—but somehow the thought of doing so never came.

Even though he knew Gu Heng was a shameless b*stard who could’ve just handed the model back, yet chose instead to keep teasing him again and again.

Forcing him to admit that the model he wanted was one of a kind—just like there was no one else in the world who could replace Gu Heng.

If Gu Heng were willing to stay by his side, Zuo Shihuan would break off the engagement with the Yu family without hesitation.

Even if the invitations to the engagement banquet had already gone out to every elite and noble in society—once the Zuo family learned that he’d done it all for a low-born “Beta,” they’d brand him a fool who threw away family interest for love, a disgrace to the house.

And everything—power, wealth, standing—would vanish the moment he was cast out.

Back to the beginning— back to that penniless boy from the slums, Zuo Shihuan who had nothing.

Even so, he still refused to give up.

At worst, he’d just start over again.

He had climbed out of the slums once; he could do it a second time. And this time, he had a new card to play—he was confident he could return to the top even faster than before.

The premise being—

Zuo Shihuan lifted his gaze toward Gu Heng beside him, brushed aside those grimy fingers, narrowed his eyes but with a faint smile, raised a fist in mock threat, and said,
“B*stard. How could my teeth break? I’m not that fragile. If I’d known, I would’ve bitten you a few more times.”

Gu Heng, without hesitation, extended a finger, his dark eyes bright and gleaming as he arched a brow and grinned, “Then bite.”

He didn’t feel that the gesture was intimate or ambiguous in the slightest.

Zuo Shihuan froze.

—Because the premise was that this wasn’t a one-man show.

After Being Deceived, I Married Someone Else and Had Children

Status: Ongoing
Zuo Shihuan had lived over ten years as a low-level Beta in the slums, mother absent and father unknown. After surviving a genetic disease by sheer luck, he suddenly underwent secondary differentiation into an Alpha, and was found by his wealthy biological father. In a society where Alpha rights reigned supreme, only Alphas could inherit in the Zuo family, while Betas and Omegas were mere attachments. That wealthy father had dozens of illegitimate children, but they were all Betas and Omegas. What he desperately lacked was an Alpha heir. By virtue of being an Alpha, Zuo Shihuan became the sole heir of the prestigious family. The very first thing after returning to the wealthy household—blind date. At the meeting, the two families conversed harmoniously, and just like that, he was engaged to a rich and beautiful Omega he barely knew. Zuo Shihuan felt lost. Was he truly going to spend his entire life with a stranger Omega? Who could have guessed, the fiancée told him on the very first day that they already had someone they liked, even dragging him to an underground bar to point out a pretty-faced Alpha scumbag. Coincidentally enough. Zuo Shihuan, too, fell in love at first sight—with a noble and striking Beta. From then on, Zuo Shihuan began watching over this pitiful Beta with a tragic background, helping him evade the pursuit of mysterious forces, protecting him, even unwittingly bringing him into the Zuo family… In the end, Zuo Shihuan surrendered—he had fallen for this Beta. He began pursuing him with no regard for consequences: breaking off the engagement, eloping with him, renouncing his heir status, doing everything against his family’s will for this Beta! He was even willing, as an Alpha, to be the one beneath a Beta. But then— On the day the Empire attacked— Amidst the fleeing crowds, Zuo Shihuan desperately searched for Gu Heng’s figure, only to see on the giant screen the Empire’s Crown Prince personally leading the army in a mech assault. The Crown Prince’s face—was Gu Heng! He was an Alpha, not even a Beta! Gu Heng had deceived him so miserably. Had he approached just to use him, to steal Zuo family secrets? Yet Zuo Shihuan had cherished him like a fool. Zuo Shihuan abandoned his so-called pursuit of true love. At that moment, his former fiancée came back in tears, saying she had been tricked by a scumbag too—and was even pregnant. And that scumbag turned out to be Gu Heng’s accomplice. Zuo Shihuan sneered. Wasn’t he, an Alpha, also tricked by a scumbag? But the greater irony was—Zuo Shihuan discovered he was pregnant too!!! Years later. The original planet now belonged to the Empire. A changed Zuo Shihuan attended a banquet, hand in hand with his Omega spouse. The always noble and proud Crown Prince of the Empire faltered, eyes darkening as he walked toward him, only to hear the man introducing the Omega at his side: “This is my newlywed spouse. At home, we have two young children who couldn’t come.” Gu Heng froze.
