After Being Deceived, I Married Someone Else and Had Children Chapter 50

“Someone wants to see me?”

Dr. Ji Zhaohe paused mid-signature, his dark green eyes curving faintly with amusement as he looked at the auction staff.

Under that chilling, oppressive gaze, the staff member wiped the sweat from his forehead and replied respectfully, “Yes, sir. A very important person has requested a meeting with you— and has promised to cover the cost of every item you purchased tonight.”

Ji Zhaohe raised an eyebrow. “Well then. Fine.”

If someone wanted to play the fool and pay his bill, only an idiot would refuse.

Ji Sener, meanwhile, looked around the room with little interest. The enormous Zerg in the cage didn’t impress her— she’d seen too many of them. Sometimes, Little He even cooked Zerg meat for her to eat.

Speaking of which— after a long night, her young body was growing tired, and hunger crept up from her stomach, rumbling softly.

Tugging at Ji Zhaohe’s sleeve, the girl lifted her clear, tender green eyes and said, “I’m hungry.”

Ji Zhaohe frowned, clicking his tongue in irritation. “Where am I supposed to find you food right now?”

The staff member quickly interjected, “There’s a charity gala next door, Doctor— a celebration banquet. They’ve got pastries and juice suitable for children. If you’d like, I can ask another staff member to escort the young lady to rest and eat for a while.”

Ji Zhaohe gave the man a cold, assessing look— a look so sharp it made the staffer break into a cold sweat.

Finally, Ji Zhaohe said flatly, “Take her. I’ll pick her up in a bit.”

Ji Sener lifted her skirt slightly, refusing the staffer’s offered hand. Just before leaving, she turned back— those soft green eyes now dimmed with sadness.

“Tomorrow… tomorrow, Little He, are you going to find me a new school?”

Seeing that expression, Ji Zhaohe’s chest tightened.

For a fleeting instant, he saw another pair of the same tender green eyes from his memories— always looking at him that same way: gentle, and unbearably sad.

It felt as though he had made some unforgivable mistake again.

They were clearly just trivial matters, yet they made the young Ji Zhaohe restless and irritable. Just being stared at by those gentle, sorrowful eyes was enough to drive him mad, to make even his cold, harsh heart sprout guilt and self-reflection.

He had no choice but to change— all for the sake of becoming a venomous snake that stayed by her side, tamed.

Even now, it was the same…

Ji Zhaohe sighed, crouching down so that he was level with Ji Sener’s eyes. His white lab coat trailed onto the floor, picking up dust. The cold, pale lips curved helplessly. “What do you want?”

Ji Sener tilted her head and said softly, “Can I not transfer schools?”

Ji Zhaohe’s brows furrowed in disapproval— but before he could speak, Ji Sener looked up at him with those bright, clear green eyes, and said in a tender, reluctant voice, “I’ve already transferred once. This school is the closest kindergarten to you. If I transfer again, I’ll be even farther away.”

Ji Zhaohe’s dark green eyes paused.

He never liked Ji Sener being too far from him. Even though she was armed with countless self-defense weapons, once she was out of his reach, the only one left feeling restless and uneasy was Ji Zhaohe himself.

Like a dog that couldn’t be without its master.

Whether Ji Sener’s words were truly filled with affection or merely an excuse, Ji Zhaohe finally turned his head aside, frowning as he said, “Then don’t transfer. But from now on, stay away from those little brats.”

Ji Sener beamed, her face alight with joy. “I will!”

“Mm.” Ji Zhaohe’s expression didn’t share her happiness.

Especially when Ji Sener added cheerfully, “Oh, right—since I don’t have to transfer anymore, Little He should go home and help me with my kindergarten craft assignment. Teacher Xiaoyun’s been urging me to hand it in.”

At that, Ji Zhaohe’s face immediately collapsed, ready to take back his earlier words.

But Ji Sener, who had clearly anticipated this, lifted her skirt and darted out the door before he could speak. She didn’t even need the staff’s guidance—vanishing swiftly down the hallway, leaving only an empty doorway behind.

Ji Zhaohe gritted his teeth. “D*mn Federation compulsory education! D*mn kindergarten craft assignments!”

He should never have agreed to send Ji Sener to any kindergarten. But because her name was registered under his household, once she reached the required age, the Federation Education Bureau had sent officials to his door, demanding that her guardian fulfill the compulsory education requirement for minors under eighteen.

The nearby staffer forced a polite smile. “Your daughter is quite adorable, though.”

That only infuriated him more.

Ji Zhaohe shot him a cold glare, voice sharp as ice. “She’s not my daughter.”

The staffer froze. “Ah… I see…”

Internally, he muttered—then what is she, a sister? The age gap seemed too large for that, and this guest was far too frightening.

Ji Zhaohe had already turned away.

No matter what others might guess, he and Ji Sener were not bound by any of those shallow, ridiculous relationships.

Lovers, spouses—all that was meaningless trash!

Even ties of blood between parent and child—so what?!

Ji Zhaohe’s brows drew tight, dark green eyes flashing with a cold, vicious red glint. The pale lips curved into a mocking smile.

—From beginning to end, the only one who had dragged her out of h*ll was him alone.

“This way, please.”

Zuo Shihuan’s face was impassive. Just as he was about to reach the room where he would meet Dr. Ji Zhaohe, the door suddenly swung open—and a little girl came running out like a gust of wind.

Her soft, pale-gold hair gleamed like strands of sunlight as she darted past, her light footsteps quickly fading until she disappeared completely.

Perhaps Zuo Shihuan’s gaze lingered a little too long, for the staff beside him volunteered an explanation: “That was the child the guest brought with him.”

“Mm.” Zuo Shihuan withdrew his gaze calmly, finding nothing strange about it.

After all, Dr. Ji Zhaohe was already a fully matured Beta adult. By age, he was old enough to be Zuo Shihuan’s father—a senior figure of his generation.

Of course, with interstellar technology advancing as it had, human lifespans had lengthened.

Though Dr. Ji Zhaohe’s outward appearance hadn’t changed much, and standing beside the twenty-something Zuo Shihuan they looked no different in age, he had long been famous. Having a family and a daughter was entirely reasonable.

The moment Zuo Shihuan entered the room, he immediately felt a piercing gaze fixed on him—so sharp it was as though he were being dissected under an instrument. Instinctively, his guard went up.

A teasing whistle broke the silence.

“I thought it would be another bothersome old man. Didn’t expect it to be a handsome young one—and an Alpha, no less…”

Zuo Shihuan’s brows tightened slightly, and he followed the voice.

The man slouched in his seat met Zuo Shihuan’s gaze without flinching, one brow raised, a lazy, provocative smile curling his lips.

He wasn’t sitting properly at all.

Ji Zhaohe propped his chin on one hand, legs crossed, his face strikingly sharp and faintly sickly—handsome in a dark, unsettling way. His tall, slender figure had the elegance of a model. Those dark green eyes swept over Zuo Shihuan with amusement, like a cold, coiled snake flicking its tail—dangerous and deadly.

That razor-sharp gaze traced along Zuo Shihuan’s form: from his refined, handsome features to his tall, well-built physique, the perfect proportions of his long legs, and the faint, natural dominance of a high-level Alpha’s pheromonal aura…

And then his eyes brightened— as if he had discovered an interesting prey.

The tip of the serpent’s tongue flicked out, tasting the air.

Ji Zhaohe narrowed his eyes, a fleeting hint of something ambiguous passing through them. His lips curved into a meaning-laden smile. “Oh? A rather high-level Alpha, too. Let me guess…”

“You’re an S-class Alpha, aren’t you? With pheromones this exquisite and tempting, you must be an S-class Alpha!”

Excitement gleamed in Ji Zhaohe’s eyes, a greenish spark of fascination that made Zuo Shihuan frown instinctively. His understanding of the “eccentric Dr. Ji” deepened— and not in a good way.

The first impression was utterly terrible.

Despite the white lab coat, he was nothing like the scientists most people imagined. Instead, he gave off the air of a flippant libertine—careless, mocking, and entirely unrestrained.

Zuo Shihuan knew he shouldn’t hold overly high expectations of Dr. Ji simply because of his profession—that, too, was a kind of stereotype. After all, he was only here to invite Dr. Ji to join Blue Eagle Group, not to judge his private life or personal conduct…

His light brown eyes suddenly sharpened as he caught sight of a glaring smear of dust on Dr. Ji’s white lab coat.

Zuo Shihuan clenched his teeth and swallowed it down. He would not refuse to recruit a talent who could clearly bring greater benefits to Blue Eagle Group just because of personal habits.

Frowning, his expression stiff, Zuo Shihuan said, “No, Dr. Ji, you guessed wrong. I’m just an A-rank Alpha.”

Ji Zhaohe narrowed his eyes, looking unconvinced. “An A-rank Alpha? You look more perfect and tempting than most S-rank Alphas.”

Zuo Shihuan refused to respond and immediately changed the subject. “Dr. Ji, what are your thoughts on Blue Eagle Group? I deeply admire your talent and hope you can join our R&D department.”

Ji Zhaohe curved his lips into a smile. “And what’s in it for me?”

Zuo Shihuan’s gaze remained calm and businesslike. “As far as I know, Dr. Ji hasn’t accepted an offer from any major institution or company. I can offer you a chief researcher position, independent annual funding, a salary and benefits package that will satisfy you. Even if there’s a rare material you need, I can have it found for you…”

Ji Zhaohe shook his head and suddenly leaned closer to him. His dark green eyes flared open, naked and predatory like a beast’s. The thin, pale lips curved into a voice gone hoarse with interest as he grabbed Zuo Shihuan’s arm and murmured, “I lack nothing—except an Alpha beneath me. Are you willing?”

His breath was cold and damp, like a poisonous snake hissing against Zuo Shihuan’s ear.

Zuo Shihuan’s pupils contracted at once. The chill, sticky sensation against his ear felt revolting—like a snake’s tongue licking him—sending a wave of disgust through him. He shoved Ji Zhaohe away without hesitation, his eyes sharp with warning. “Dr. Ji, I am not someone you can trifle with.”

His face was so cold and serious that Ji Zhaohe withdrew his gaze of interest. The dark green eyes flickered with understanding—ah, another boring Alpha.

Finding it dull, he still looked at the handsome Zuo Shihuan with a trace of unwillingness. “Why reject me? Is it that Alpha pride—must you always be on top? I’ve been with plenty of Alpha lovers, and they all said my skills were excellent…”

Zuo Shihuan frowned slightly and replied coolly, “In a few days, I’ll be attending my engagement party with my Omega fiancée. I have no interest in anyone else.”

Ji Zhaohe pouted—what a pity. He’d accidentally provoked someone already taken. His cold, unwilling gaze swept over the Alpha before him.

He wasn’t interested in prey that was too weak. It was rare to find a strong, high-quality Alpha—one with that commanding presence, that near-perfect and elegant bone structure, every move radiating power and allure. The thought of tearing him apart in bed was intoxicating.

Ji Zhaohe couldn’t help narrowing his eyes, lips curling into a blood-tinged smile.

After Being Deceived, I Married Someone Else and Had Children

Status: Ongoing
Zuo Shihuan had lived over ten years as a low-level Beta in the slums, mother absent and father unknown. After surviving a genetic disease by sheer luck, he suddenly underwent secondary differentiation into an Alpha, and was found by his wealthy biological father. In a society where Alpha rights reigned supreme, only Alphas could inherit in the Zuo family, while Betas and Omegas were mere attachments. That wealthy father had dozens of illegitimate children, but they were all Betas and Omegas. What he desperately lacked was an Alpha heir. By virtue of being an Alpha, Zuo Shihuan became the sole heir of the prestigious family. The very first thing after returning to the wealthy household—blind date. At the meeting, the two families conversed harmoniously, and just like that, he was engaged to a rich and beautiful Omega he barely knew. Zuo Shihuan felt lost. Was he truly going to spend his entire life with a stranger Omega? Who could have guessed, the fiancée told him on the very first day that they already had someone they liked, even dragging him to an underground bar to point out a pretty-faced Alpha scumbag. Coincidentally enough. Zuo Shihuan, too, fell in love at first sight—with a noble and striking Beta. From then on, Zuo Shihuan began watching over this pitiful Beta with a tragic background, helping him evade the pursuit of mysterious forces, protecting him, even unwittingly bringing him into the Zuo family… In the end, Zuo Shihuan surrendered—he had fallen for this Beta. He began pursuing him with no regard for consequences: breaking off the engagement, eloping with him, renouncing his heir status, doing everything against his family’s will for this Beta! He was even willing, as an Alpha, to be the one beneath a Beta. But then— On the day the Empire attacked— Amidst the fleeing crowds, Zuo Shihuan desperately searched for Gu Heng’s figure, only to see on the giant screen the Empire’s Crown Prince personally leading the army in a mech assault. The Crown Prince’s face—was Gu Heng! He was an Alpha, not even a Beta! Gu Heng had deceived him so miserably. Had he approached just to use him, to steal Zuo family secrets? Yet Zuo Shihuan had cherished him like a fool. Zuo Shihuan abandoned his so-called pursuit of true love. At that moment, his former fiancée came back in tears, saying she had been tricked by a scumbag too—and was even pregnant. And that scumbag turned out to be Gu Heng’s accomplice. Zuo Shihuan sneered. Wasn’t he, an Alpha, also tricked by a scumbag? But the greater irony was—Zuo Shihuan discovered he was pregnant too!!! Years later. The original planet now belonged to the Empire. A changed Zuo Shihuan attended a banquet, hand in hand with his Omega spouse. The always noble and proud Crown Prince of the Empire faltered, eyes darkening as he walked toward him, only to hear the man introducing the Omega at his side: “This is my newlywed spouse. At home, we have two young children who couldn’t come.” Gu Heng froze.
