Chapter 189 Wind and Fire, Knocking on the Door

Jiang Fuyue returned to the dormitory, and her three roommates were still awake.
Su Qing was talking on the phone while applying a face mask, Chen Sichang was playing games, and neither of them bothered to look up when they heard the door open; they just continued with their own activities.
Only Liu Ling raised her head to glance at Jiang Fuyue.
Since the incident of disciplinary action, the three of them dared not provoke Jiang Fuyue much. Living under the same roof, they mostly avoided her.
Fortunately, Jiang Fuyue hardly saw anyone during the day, and she only returned around ten o’clock at night, sometimes even later.
Just a second before the door opened, they were discussing where she might have gone.
Su Qing: “Maybe she’s gone out to make some money, being a country bumpkin and all?” After saying that, she covered her mouth and giggled.
Going out in the middle of the night to make money?
Only in that profession.
Chen Sichang raised an eyebrow. “Maybe she’s secretly dating someone?”
Su Qing scoffed, “With a girl like her, I don’t know why Young Master Lin even sits at the same table with her…”
Chen Sichang’s eyes flickered slightly.
Lin Shumo was the undisputed heartthrob in their circle, handsome, intelligent, and from a good family.
The Lin family, one of the eight major families in the capital, was the ultimate dream for many women.
Moreover, Lin Shumo was from the main branch of the family. Climbing up to him meant more than just a sparrow reaching the treetop; even a caterpillar could become a phoenix.
Countless women pursued him, but he had never paid attention to anyone, always maintaining a cold and aloof demeanor.
“What about sitting at the same table? I don’t see Young Master Lin paying her much attention!” Chen Sichang rolled her eyes while applying toner. “If she thinks sitting at the same table as Young Master Lin will bring her closer to success, she’s in for a disappointment.”
“True,” Su Qing nodded. “With Young Master Lin’s standards, none of us could catch his eye, so how could he possibly be interested in Jiang Fuyue?”
Chen Sichang frowned slightly and muttered under her breath, “What do you mean ‘none of us could catch his eye’? Are we that bad….”
“What are you muttering about?”
Chen Sichang: “…Nothing.”
Su Qing suddenly poked her head out from the top bunk. “Liu Ling, why aren’t you saying anything?”
Liu Ling: “…I don’t feel like there’s anything worth saying.”
“You’ve been unusually quiet lately.”
She just smiled and didn’t respond further.
Su Qing muttered a couple of sentences under her breath.
Just then, Jiang Fuyue walked in, and the three of them immediately fell silent, pretending like nothing had happened, each going about their own business.
There were three days left of lab usage time.
After finishing her evening routine, Jiang Fuyue laid down on her bed and roughly planned out her schedule.
When she did the calculations, she was shocked at how little time she had left!
So, the next morning, before dawn, she went back to the lab.
She stayed there for two hours before finally stepping into the training room just before the pre-class bell rang.
Of course, she had breakfast in hand.
While the teacher hadn’t arrived yet, she devoured a small basket of dumplings, with a cup of soy milk on the side.
Lin Shumo: “?”
Can a girl really eat like this?!
Ling Xuan silently pushed the soy milk towards her. “Have some of this, to prevent choking.”
Jiang Fuyue nodded, took a sip of soy milk, and after swallowing the last dumpling, she thanked him quietly, with poise and elegance.
Ling Xuan: “…Did you oversleep?”
Jiang Fuyue shook her head. She hadn’t spoken earlier because her mouth was full.
As she swallowed the last bite, the bell for class rang, and Yan Zhenfeng entered the classroom.
Neither early nor late, everything was just right.
Except for the lingering smell of sauce in the air…
Midway through the training camp, although there were still lectures scheduled, most of the time was spent on practice.
It couldn’t be denied that during the high school education stage, the tactic of tackling a sea of questions was an unbeatable strategy.
The teachers found it easy to use, but the students… were driven to despair.
“What! Another test paper? I’ve almost had enough of this in the past two days!”
“Mr. Yan, can we have something new for a change? It feels like my brain is filled with either letters or numbers, all combined into formulas. I dream about density, grip strength, and acceleration.”
“This is torturous.”
“It’s making me lose my hair.”
“I’ve decided to get a hair transplant as soon as the training camp is over.”
“…”
The frustration was palpable.
Perhaps the only person in the class who was happy was Jiang Fuyue.
The greatest benefit of doing exercises was being able to hand in the paper and leave, and she would happily do questions every day.
This time was no exception. After the papers were distributed, Jiang Fuyue returned hers to Yan Zhenfeng in less than twenty minutes.
“I have something to do, so I’ll leave first.”
With that, she rushed out of the classroom in a hurry.
Ling Xuan watched her leave with a pensive expression.
Lin Shumo also looked serious.
…
Xie Dingyuan stood in front of the workstation, placing the freshly taken culture dish under the microscope.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of a door closing next door, followed by the lights turning on.
He glanced at his watch; it was nine o’clock in the morning.
Shouldn’t she be at the training camp at this time?
The thought only lasted for a moment before he realized he was being nosy.
He chuckled and shook his head, no longer distracted, focusing on his work instead.
Meanwhile, Jiang Fuyue closed the door with a bit too much force, making a loud bang.
She put down her backpack, put on her lab coat, and climbed onto the workstation.
In the blink of an eye, several hours passed, and the sun rose higher, her hunger growing stronger.
Jiang Fuyue glanced at the clock on the wall; it was almost time.
The cafeteria would probably only have leftovers by now, and it would take time to walk over there, so she decided to order takeout instead.
Just as she took out her phone, she heard a knock on the door.
She raised an eyebrow lightly…
Guess who it is?
