“Ah! You despicable person!”
Zhang Kehua raised his hand and slapped Han Yunru directly against the wall.
With a dull thud, the woman’s forehead hit the wall, blood trickling down her cheek, instantly staining her beautiful face.
Zhang Kehua wasn’t in a good state either.
The broken pieces cut his scalp, some even embedded in his flesh, he dared not touch them, as every touch brought blood.
The scalding hot water poured on his face, burning intensely at the moment.
“You, go bring her over, and you,” he pointed at another man in floral shirt, “go find a nurse to tend to my wounds!”
The two men exchanged glances, frowning involuntarily.
They had come here on Brother Yang’s behalf, who was this person to order them around?
“Hurry up!” Zhang Kehua roared in place, his expression manic.
In the end, the two men complied.
One went to find a nurse, the other brought Han Yunru in front of Zhang Kehua, binding her hands to prevent her from harming anyone else.
With another slap, Han Yunru was sent reeling, her head turning from the impact, but Zhang Kehua’s anger was far from appeased.
“Mmmmmm!” Jiang Da watched this scene with bloodshot eyes, his gaze seeming to want to shed tears of blood.
He struggled desperately, veins popping, but the two men behind him held him firm.
Zhang Kehua grabbed Han Yunru’s face, turning her towards Jiang Da, “Look at your useless husband, besides making noise, what else can he do? He can only watch you get beaten. I thought you were a smart person, but you’re just stupid! Utterly foolish—”
Han Yunru coldly lifted her eyes, “But he’s still better than a scum like you!”
Zhang Kehua, ashamed and angry, was about to deliver another slap, but the woman showed no fear, her neck stretching out defiantly, showing no intention of dodging.
He suddenly stopped, a malicious grin appearing on his face.
Han Yunru’s heart sank with a bad feeling.
And the next moment, her fears turned into reality—
“You,” Zhang Kehua motioned to a man in a floral shirt, his gaze fixed on the bed, “bring that child over here.”
“What do you think you’re doing?!” Han Yunru’s face turned pale.
“What do you think I’m doing? Jiang Chenxing is originally the company’s contracted internet celebrity, he can’t be sleeping like this, there’s still a live broadcast at night…”
“You heartless wretch! My son is still unconscious, how could you even think of doing this?!” Han Yunru exclaimed, her anger palpable.
Zhang Kehua laughed. As expected, a child is a mother’s weakness. The woman who had been indifferent moments ago now had a temper.
“I have no choice. The company needs to make money. If your son misses a day of streaming, the company loses money. Who’s going to pay for that? You? With the little you make selling pancakes? Ha! Know your place!”
Then, his smile disappeared as he barked orders to the man in the flowered shirt he had mentioned earlier. “What are you standing there for? Bring him to me!”
Han Yunru shouted, “You dare—”
With a sudden burst of strength, she broke free from her restraints, turned around, and dashed towards the hospital bed. Like a mother hen protecting her chick, she spread her arms wide to shield her son.
“Anyone who steps forward, I’ll fight you to the death!”
Zhang Kehua yelled, “Are you just standing there like a piece of wood?! Get her!”
The man in the flowered shirt frowned. “Brother Yang sent us to back you up, not to act as your enforcers!”
“You—”
“Hurry up and get it done. We don’t have all day.” The man in the flowered shirt was unceremonious, a hint of disdain flickering in his eyes.
Bullying a woman wasn’t impressive.
Zhang Kehua, however, was unperturbed. “I’m getting it done! Yang’s cash cow is lying in that bed. If you don’t get him out of here, this trip will be wasted!”
The man in the flowered shirt hesitated, glancing at the woman and the child.
Zhang Kehua pressed, “Hurry! Why do you think Yang paid you? To stand around and watch?”
Grimacing, the man stepped forward, pried Han Yunru away, and yanked Jiang Chenxing from the bed, even pulling out the IV needle from the boy’s hand. Blood welled from the puncture.
Han Yunru screamed and lunged at him wildly, “Let go of my son—let go—”
The man in the flowered shirt threw her down and carried the child to Zhang Kehua. “Now what?”
Han Yunru struggled to her feet and lunged again, trying to reclaim her son.
But how could she, a woman, match the strength of men?
Zhang Kehua kicked her down, a vicious gleam in his eyes.
Jiang Da’s face was soaked with tears, his cheeks flushed purple from his intense struggle. “Mmm! Mmm!”
Just as Zhang Kehua was about to kick her again, the door to the hospital room was kicked open with a bang.
A group of men in suits and sunglasses stormed in, swiftly overpowering the men in flowered shirts.
Jiang Da broke free and rushed forward, reclaiming his son and shielding Han Yunru with his body.
“Wife, are you okay? Let me see…” His hands trembled, eyes filled with tears, brimming with guilt and regret.
“I’m sorry, it’s all my fault…” One arm cradled Little Brother Jiang, while the other hesitated to touch his wife’s face.
The sight of her blood stung his eyes, and the six-foot-tall man wept like a child.
“It’s nothing, I’m fine,” Han Yunru shook her head, her gaze and voice equally gentle. “You should put your son on the bed first, he’s uncomfortable like this…”
“Okay, okay.” Jiang Da nodded hurriedly.
“Who, who are you people?!” In the blink of an eye, all the men in floral shirts were down on the ground in disarray. The men in black had cold expressions and a powerful presence.
Zhang Kehua was stunned, followed by fear and panic.
These people looked much taller and more imposing than the thugs summoned by Chief Yang. Each one had a sharp, stern look from head to toe.
Even with his lack of experience, he could tell these were not people to be trifled with.
But wasn’t Jiang Da’s family in the pancake business? How could they know such people?
“Who, who are you?” Zhang Kehua asked again, clearly lacking confidence.
Unfortunately, he received no response.
These men in black seemed like thoughtless machines; after subduing the men in floral shirts, they remained still.
Zhang Kehua was filled with uncertainty and suspicion. Seeing that the men in black made no further moves, he assumed they were somewhat wary and feigned toughness, “I don’t care who you are, get out of here right now!”
“Do you know who we are? We’re with Yang Huai Shan, Chief Yang of Yimi Company! If you know what’s good for you, back off now, or else…”
He sneered twice, but his bravado sounded weak and unconvincing.
“Clowns!” At this moment, a cold voice echoed from the door as Hu Ben and Little Six rushed in with a doctor.
Jiang Fuyue walked in the middle, the two men always half a step behind, one on the left and one on the right, like guardian angels, but their respectful demeanor seemed more like faithful servants.
Zhang Kehua stood still, watching as a young girl with a beautiful pair of peach blossom eyes walked in, and the black-clothed men made way for her.
She had a pair of beautiful peach blossom eyes, but at this moment, there was no emotion in them, only indifference and tranquility.
“Yueyue…” Han Yunru was stunned.
Jiang Da had already been dumbfounded from the moment Jiang Fuyue entered the room.
He looked at his wife with some confusion, but all he got was her equally confused gaze in return.
“Where’s the doctor?” Jiang Fuyue said in a calm voice.
Hu Ben dragged him to the bedside, his voice cold, “Why haven’t you treated him yet? If you delay any longer, you won’t see the sun tomorrow!”
Not that he was rude, but with such a big commotion on this floor, why didn’t any of the hospital staff come to stop it? Even calling security or directly calling the police would have sufficed.
But they didn’t.
Half an hour ago, these people received a notice to clear the third floor, all personnel were evacuated, allowing these thugs to run rampant in the ward.
It turns out this hospital has a close relationship with that Chief Yang, directly allowing hooligans to cause trouble in the ward.
Humph…
Hu Ben sneered, looking at the group of floral shirts on the ground as if they were a pile of dead bones.
Don’t mess with the wrong people, they messed with the big boss.
Jiang Fuyue walked straight to the bedside, never once looking at Zhang Kehua, not even a sidelong glance.
“Yueyue, is it really you…” Han Yunru murmured, her eyes filled with mixed emotions.
When she was slapped and knocked down, she didn’t cry; when her son was taken away, she didn’t even have time to shed tears, all she could think about was how to get her son back.
But now, seeing her daughter suddenly appear, Han Yunru couldn’t hold back her tears anymore, and they flowed freely.
“Mom…” Jiang Fuyue’s voice softened, a hint of faint tenderness seeping through her cold demeanor.
“It’s alright,” she said, “I’m here now.”
Han Yunru nodded, tears streaming down her face.
Jiang Fuyue scanned her mother’s bleeding forehead, and the clear finger marks on her cheeks, her eyes suddenly turning cold…
Hu Ben knew then that someone was in trouble.
Bad luck.
