Chapter 246: Parents Relent, Younger Brother Awakens
<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>
At a certain moment, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
How could her quiet and gentle daughter be leading a group of burly men inside?
And those people clearly regarded her with reverence.
There were also two men following her on either side, whom Han Yunru evidently knew because they were often seen loitering around the pancake shop nearby.
At first, Han Yunru was wary, thinking they were targeted by thugs. But as time passed, not only did the two not cause trouble, but they also helped drive away the troublemakers who came looking for trouble.
Han Yunru treated them to pancakes, and after that, the two men often came to the shop to help with the business.
Half a month ago, Mrs. Liu came to apply for a job as a waitress. After becoming a regular employee, Han Yunru learned through an accidental opportunity that the tall and robust man among the two was actually Mrs. Liu’s son, named Zheng Yonghua, with a nickname “Hu Ben.”
And the good buddy who often came with him to eat pancakes was called “Little Six.”
Han Yunru never expected to see these two in this situation, let alone faintly showing deference to her daughter.
Logically, the relationship between these three people was unlikely to intersect. How could it happen?
If it were just that, it would be forgivable, but then what did she see next?
Zhang Kehua was easily subdued, and Hu Ben and Little Six started fighting with him, all of this evidently happening with approval from Yueyue.
Because, Han Yunru clearly saw the inquiry and consultation in the eyes of the two before they acted, and during the process, they unconsciously observed Yueyue’s expression.
If this couldn’t prove anything, then Hu Ben and Little Six strictly followed every word Yueyue said, revealing a demeanor of obeying orders like subordinates.
But the shock was far greater than she imagined.
As the knife fell, Zhang Kehua’s face was covered in blood, and Han Yunru could only stifle the urge to scream by covering her mouth desperately.
Then, a wrench appeared, and in the blink of an eye, Zhang Kehua’s arms were broken, and he fell to the ground unable to get up.
And the one who did all this was not Hu Ben, nor Little Six, nor any of the black-clad people present, but her gentle, harmless, and obedient daughter?
How could Han Yunru accept this for a moment?
Jiang Fuyue also knew that today they couldn’t bluff their way through.
But she didn’t intend to bluff. If she really wanted to keep the husband and wife in the dark, she could easily let Hu Ben or Little Six take Zhang Kehua away and dispose of him outside.
Why spill blood on the spot?
Since this day would come sooner or later, it was better to inform the couple in advance to avoid more difficult explanations in the future.
As for whether they could accept it…
Jiang Fuyue pursed her lips. To be honest, she was also very nervous.
But regardless of the outcome, she was already prepared to face everything head-on.
“Mom.”
Han Yunru stared blankly at her daughter, her lips trembling, but she couldn’t make a sound for a long time.
And Jiang Da had already been dumbfounded, his eyes fixed for a long time without normal movement.
The light in Jiang Fuyue’s eyes dimmed little by little.
Would her parents never truly accept her in this lifetime?
So be it.
Suddenly–
“Yueyue, those moves you just made… were they real? Was that blood… syrup?”
Jiang Da stuttered.
Jiang Fuyue lowered her eyes and shook her head gently. “…No.”
“Good! That’s satisfying!” Jiang Da clapped his hands, the sound echoing loudly, as if all his resentment and anger were vented out.
“Huh?” Jiang Fuyue was bewildered.
Jiang Da gritted his teeth, his eyes crimson. “That scum wasn’t even worth those few eyes and hands!”
Jiang Fuyue: “?” Why didn’t she notice Jiang Da’s determination before?
“Yueyue, that move you made with the knife, it looked like a light swipe, was it effective?”
“?”. Jiang Fuyue swallowed nervously, took a while to react, “It… should be.”
The RS military knife, capable of making Hu Ben wary, carried around, it should be the last card to save a life, the lethality can be imagined.
Jiang Da nodded in satisfaction. “That’s good.”
“?”
“Where did you get that wrench?”
“I picked it up randomly from Hu Ben’s trunk.”
“I see… Is it a standard version?”
Jiang Fuyue nodded.
Jiang Da seemed thoughtful.
Shortly after, an identical wrench appeared in the cash register drawer of the pancake shop.
Of course, that’s another story, let’s not mention it for now.
Meanwhile, Han Yunru, after hearing her husband and daughter’s conversation, almost fainted with anger.
She immediately grabbed the tenderest part of Jiang Da’s leg and didn’t let go. “What nonsense are you talking about?! Have you taught our daughter like this?!”
“Gah—ouch! Why are you doing this to me?” The man looked aggrieved, “Clearly, it’s not me teaching our daughter now, it’s our daughter teaching me, right, Yueyue?”
Jiang Fuyue quickly nodded.
Han Yunru shot him a warning look. “Stop making trouble. You still have to settle your account. Wait until I deal with your father first.”
Jiang Fuyue immediately felt guilty and touched her nose, but she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
If Han Yunru didn’t say anything, didn’t show any emotions, that would be the worst.
“Wife, don’t pinch, it really hurts!” Jiang Da wriggled all over, but didn’t dare to push away Han Yunru’s hand, just grimacing.
Suddenly meeting the smiling eyes of his daughter, he winked at Jiang Fuyue.
The tacit understanding between father and daughter reached its peak at this moment.
“Mom,” Jiang Fuyue’s heart warmed as she hurriedly spoke, “stop pinching him, Dad’s still injured.”
Han Yunru paused, her gaze falling on Jiang Da’s scraped lips and swollen cheekbones, and she couldn’t bring herself to continue.
Tears quickly gathered in her eyes. “Does it hurt?”
Jiang Da grabbed her hand with a silly grin. “It doesn’t hurt at all.”
Han Yunru still cried.
The smile vanished from Jiang Da’s face as he scrambled, “Honey, don’t cry! It really doesn’t hurt! If you don’t believe me, hit me a few times and see…” He grabbed her hand and placed it on his chest.
Seeing his foolishness, Jiang Fuyue couldn’t help but wince.
Han Yunru pulled her hand back, refusing to let him hold it, crying and scolding, “Are you an idiot? There were so many people, and you had to confront them head-on. Who else would they beat up?”
“Well, I didn’t think about it then. I couldn’t just stand there and let them bully us, right?” Jiang Da explained awkwardly.
“Next time, don’t do that. Do you hear me?”
“Huh?”
Han Yunru snapped, “What do you mean ‘huh’? Be smarter. If you can’t win, then back off. Know when to pick your battles, got it?”
“But if I run away, what about you?”
Han Yunru’s tears fell even harder. She shuddered at the thought of what might have happened if Jiang Fuyue hadn’t arrived in time, fearing the tragic fate that awaited her family.
So, what was she really blaming?
Blaming Jiang Da for being too foolish?
Or blaming Fuyue for mingling with those shady individuals?
“Honey, stop crying. Our daughter is watching…” Jiang Da whispered in her ear, reminding her gently.
Han Yunru bit her lip and glanced at Jiang Fuyue, only to meet her daughter’s teasing, smiling gaze.
Blushing fiercely, Han Yunru’s face turned a deep red.
Jiang Da wiped her tears away with his rough thumb, his actions gentle, his voice soft, “Okay, no more fighting next time. I’ll run with you. Is that better?”
Han Yunru added, “And take our daughter and son with us.”
“Right, right, take our son too. As for Fuyue…” Jiang Da coughed, looking embarrassed. “She might not need my help. She could probably knock out a group of them on her own. Do you believe it?”
“Is this how you act as a father?” Han Yunru glared at him. “Letting your daughter lead the charge?”
“I’d love to lead the charge, but I don’t have that kind of skill. I can’t summon a bunch of men in suits and sunglasses…”
“Useless!”
“But I could learn Yueyue’s eye-poking move on Zhang Kehua. It seems simple enough.”
Jiang Fuyue nodded quickly. “It’s very easy.”
Han Yunru looked at her daughter, her gaze complex and filled with both heartache and a hint of worry.
“Fuyue… those people you’re with…”
“Mom,” Jiang Fuyue held her hand, looking into her eyes. “Do you trust me?”
Han Yunru pressed her lips together. How could she not trust her? In the past six months, her daughter had grown more sensible and capable each day. But the problem was, she had become too outstanding!
Her capabilities now extended beyond what someone her age should be handling.
“Yueyue, I’m afraid you might take the wrong path, those people look…” Han Yunru didn’t know how to describe it.
“Mom, I will protect you and Dad, and prevent you from being harmed in any way.” Jiang Fuyue’s eyes were firm, her tone solemn.
“Okay.” Han Yunru gently squeezed her hand, feeling the familiar warmth in her palm, “I won’t ask anymore, I won’t ask anything anymore. I believe you will be cautious and know what to do and what not to do.”
Jiang Da nodded and added with a silly smile, “Dad too.”
Suddenly, “Sister, me too…”
