At nine o’clock, with twenty minutes left before the official end of the exam, Jiang Fuyue had already finished memorizing the entire test paper.
Just as she put down her pen, the female teacher who had been watching her for a while walked over.
She had long legs and a slim waist, dressed fashionably, but her makeup was overly thick, with a heavily painted lip color that gave off a somewhat gaudy vibe.
Stopping beside Jiang Fuyue’s desk, the teacher scrutinized her sharply. “What are you doing?”
“Practicing my handwriting,” Jiang Fuyue answered calmly. The two A4 sheets laid openly on the table, making their contents clear at a glance.
“You’re secretly copying the test paper!” The teacher’s voice suddenly rose.
In contrast, the girl remained composed, her voice steady. “Two corrections. First, I am not doing it secretly. Second, this is not called copying.”
“Isn’t this the exact test paper?”
“So?”
“Do you realize that you’ve violated exam regulations?”
Jiang Fuyue: “Which rule? Which clause?”
“You—!” The teacher’s eyes widened with anger. “Such an awful attitude, completely unrepentant!”
Jiang Fuyue remained unmoved.
The teacher reached out to snatch the two sheets, but unfortunately, she was a step too late. Jiang Fuyue had already picked them up.
That small, deliberate action thoroughly infuriated the teacher. “Just you wait!”
Before long, the teacher returned with a group of supervisors, her high heels clicking crisply against the floor in a rhythmic manner.
A man leading the group spoke, “Student, we’re from the Supervisory Committee. This teacher reported that you attempted to take the test paper out of the exam hall. How do you explain this?”
Jiang Fuyue handed over the two A4 sheets.
The lead examiner took them and scanned through, exchanging glances with his colleagues.
The female teacher immediately interjected, “This is exactly the exam paper! According to regulations, she has cheated!”
The man ignored her, instead looking at Jiang Fuyue. “You wrote all of this yourself?”
“Yes.”
“You memorized the entire test paper?” The man was stunned.
Jiang Fuyue: “If you don’t believe me, you can check the surveillance footage. Also, both the pen and paper are my own.”
In other words, there was no “taking the test paper out of the exam hall.”
A staff member was quickly dispatched to retrieve the footage. Not long after, the video confirmed Jiang Fuyue’s claim.
Whether by coincidence or by design, the camera happened to be positioned perfectly, capturing her entire process of transcription.
The lead examiner nodded in confirmation and now looked at Jiang Fuyue with growing curiosity. “How did you manage to memorize the entire test paper?”
Jiang Fuyue: “With my brain.”
The examiner: “……”
The female teacher, however, panicked. “Director Chen, she took the exam questions out of the room—this is cheating!”
Director Chen lifted his gaze, looking at her indifferently. “As a teacher, your actions influence students. Before making accusations, ensure you understand the facts clearly. Do not jump to conclusions.”
“Often, a single word, a glance, or a gesture from us teachers can impact students deeply. So be cautious with the authority you wield.”
The female teacher’s face turned crimson with embarrassment.
Director Chen turned back to Jiang Fuyue, now with a kind smile. “It was just a misunderstanding, don’t take it to heart.”
Jiang Fuyue nodded. “Illogical people and matters aren’t worth my attention.”
The examiner froze momentarily before chuckling.
What a bold student—her words were sharper than a knife.
“Here, take these back,” he said with a grin, handing her the A4 sheets.
Just as the female teacher was about to slink away, the issue seemingly resolved, Jiang Fuyue suddenly spoke up—
“I’d like to file a report too.”
The group halted in their tracks, turning back in surprise.
The female teacher was equally stunned.
The girl spoke in a calm, clear tone. “Exam regulations, Article 12—The designated waiting area for students who submit early must have at least one proctor stationed there, and both students and proctors are prohibited from using mobile phones. I’m not mistaken, am I?”
Director Chen nodded. “That’s correct.”
“The waiting area and exam hall have a one-way access rule. Students can exit the exam hall to the waiting area, but not the other way around. Is that right?”
Though he wasn’t sure where she was going with this, the statement was indeed true.
He nodded again.
The female teacher, sensing danger, suddenly turned pale as a sheet.
But it was too late to stop what was coming.
The girl’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Given that the waiting area and exam hall are not connected, and that proctors cannot use mobile phones, may I ask how this teacher was so certain that my notes were identical to the test paper? Did you see the original questions? How did you see them?”
Instantly, all eyes fell on the female teacher.
She frantically shook her head. “I didn’t…”
But aside from repeating those words, she couldn’t come up with a single valid argument to refute Jiang Fuyue’s accusations.
Just then, the bell rang.
Exam time was up.
Jiang Fuyue packed up her bag and prepared to leave.
Director Chen reassured her, “We take your complaint very seriously. Our committee will investigate this matter thoroughly and provide you with a proper resolution.”
“That’s for the best.” She nodded and slung her bag over her shoulder.
Director Chen: “Please leave your name, school, and contact information.”
Jiang Fuyue wrote them down and handed them over before striding away.
Director Chen glanced down at the paper—and suddenly froze.
His colleagues leaned in to look.
“This girl is from No. 1 High School? Jiang Fuyue… That name sounds familiar.”
“Wait! She’s the one! The student who won two gold medals in subject competitions over the summer! The one who went viral online! People call her a genius, a competition legend, a full-score machine!”
Director Chen clearly recognized her name too. Not only that, but he knew she was a key figure under the city’s education bureau’s special attention.
“This situation just got serious.” He glanced sympathetically at the female teacher.
If she hadn’t wrongfully accused Jiang Fuyue first, the girl likely wouldn’t have retaliated.
As the saying goes: Heaven forgives natural misfortune, but self-inflicted disasters are inexcusable.
“Come along, you’ll need to cooperate with the investigation.”
The female teacher’s heart sank, her mind filled with dread. It’s over. I won’t get promoted this year. Worse, I might even lose my job…
During the twenty-minute break, Jiang Fuyue saw Chen Cheng, Tan Jiaxu, and a very excited, wildly gesturing Zou Hao in the hallway.
“…It’s amazing! Sister Yue is truly divine! I need to go back and burn incense for her, kneel three times and bow nine times!”
Jiang Fuyue: “?”
“Sis—Sister—” Zou Hao spotted her and waved enthusiastically while sprinting over, looking completely ridiculous.
“From now on, you are my big sister! Really!” His face was full of sincerity.
“……”
At that moment, Chen Cheng and Tan Jiaxu approached.
Jiang Fuyue asked, “What’s wrong with him?”
Chen Cheng coughed. “The questions you predicted… A lot of them appeared on the test.”
Zou Hao had never felt so confident taking an exam before. The moment he left the test hall, he had been on cloud nine.
“Sis, do you have some kind of psychic power?” he asked.
He was rewarded with a white-eyed glare from Jiang Fuyue.
But that didn’t dampen his mood—he just grinned wider. “You don’t know—when you handed in your paper, the guy sitting behind you completely collapsed. He fell straight to the floor, looked miserable. Then the whole test hall atmosphere turned super weird. Good thing we’re used to it—hehe…”
At 9:40 AM, the advanced competition began.
Same test hall, same seating arrangement.
Jiang Fuyue had just picked up her pen when she noticed several sidelong glances aimed at her.
Unfazed, she focused on scanning the paper.
The advanced test lasted until 12:10 PM—150 minutes in total.
It contained four proof problems, covering geometry, algebra, number theory, and combinatorics. The first two were worth 40 points each, while the last two were worth 50 points each, for a total of 180 points.
The first problem involved geometric transformations—reflection, translation, and rotation—integrated with a simple isoperimetric problem.
Despite the lengthy question prompt and seemingly complex diagrams, the underlying logic was straightforward.
Jiang Fuyue finished it in five minutes.
Her thought process was fast, and her writing was even faster, barely pausing in between.
As a result, while others were still reading the question, they noticed that Jiang Fuyue’s pen was moving at an eerily rapid pace…
