“Don’t say—turns out they really do share the same last name. Both are Jiang.”
“Tch, if Jiang Chenxing’s sister really is Jiang Fuyue, then I’ll… I’ll call the whole world grandpa! Hahaha… But that’s never gonna happen!”
The other two burst into laughter as well.
When “Jiang’s Private Kitchen” opened, the genius girl Jiang Fuyue and her food-broadcasting younger brother appeared together, and their sibling relationship was revealed, shooting to the top of several trending searches.
Logically, this shouldn’t be a secret.
But it’s not like everyone and their dog knew either.
Once the buzz died down and the gossip crowd scattered, only the actual fans remembered.
Clearly, Zhang Zhenhao and his two buddies weren’t among those fans.
Plus, with school rules being strict and parents keeping a close eye, they barely had time on their phones. They had very limited access to outside info.
So it wasn’t surprising that they genuinely didn’t know Jiang Fuyue and Jiang Chenxing were siblings.
Even Wang Wei didn’t know. Though he often heard Chenxing mention, “My sister says,” “My sister thinks,” or “According to my sister,” he only knew Chenxing had a big sister—someone a bit naggy but well-meaning. He’d never made the connection to that Jiang Fuyue.
Maybe because he’d heard so much about how awesome Chenxing’s sister was, he blurted out “She won’t let you off” in the heat of the moment.
Even he was stunned after saying it.
Then came the group’s mocking laughter, and Wang Wei flushed red from the neck up.
Zhang Zhenhao looked at the restrained Jiang Chenxing, then walked over to Wang Wei and gave his cheek a few patronizing pats: “If your buddy’s sister is so bad*ss, then go ahead—call her over. Let’s have a one-on-one.”
Wang Wei fumed like a puffed-up frog but had no words.
Where was he supposed to find her?
Even if he could, would she be able to take on Zhang Zhenhao and his crew?
Yeah, probably not…
“What, cat got your tongue?” Zhang Zhenhao pinched his chin. “Go on then, call her—dumbass—”
“I don’t need my sister,” Jiang Chenxing suddenly said, breaking his silence. “To deal with you guys, I am enough.”
With that, he twisted free of the two boys restraining him and, before they could react, lashed out with two swift kicks.
One staggered back, dropping to a knee. A wave of pins and needles spread from his knee down—his entire leg cramped and wouldn’t move.
The other took a hard kick to the lower back. Off balance, he pitched forward and landed face-first like a total wipeout.
“Cr*p—my back—!”
The whole situation flipped in a flash. In just the blink of an eye, the kid who was about to be the fish on the chopping block had become the one wielding the blade.
Gulp—
Zhang Zhenhao swallowed hard, his face full of disbelief. “You…”
He never expected that skinny kid Jiang Chenxing to have that much power.
Wang Wei stood frozen, jaw dropped.
So when he said he’d protect him… it wasn’t just comforting words?
“Get up already—!” Zhang Zhenhao rushed to help his fallen buddy. He desperately needed someone to back him up, especially since Jiang Chenxing’s blank stare was creeping him the h*ll out.
“I can’t—my leg’s cramped—I can’t stand!”
Zhang Zhenhao went to help the other.
“No no no, my back—!”
Now only Zhang Zhenhao was left standing.
“You—what are you doing? Don’t think just ‘cause you knocked them down, I’m scared. I’m not scared of you—”
His mouth said one thing, but his feet were backing up fast.
“I’m warning you, don’t come any closer! I—I’m super fierce—”
He even tried baring his teeth in a menacing grin.
But to Wang Wei, it looked ridiculous. “Zhang Zhenhao, stop pretending. Just admit it—being scared isn’t shameful.”
“Shut up—I ain’t scared of nothin’!”
Jiang Chenxing clenched his fist.
Zhang Zhenhao’s pupils shrank. He stepped back even faster.
“I-I’m telling you, this is school! Fighting gets you punished! If you dare touch me, I’ll tell Director Xiong. Let’s see what happens to you!”
Wang Wei flared up. “You’ve got no shame! You’re the one who used violence first, and now you’re playing the victim?!”
“Who saw me use violence? Where’s the evidence? You got any injuries? Where? Show me!”
Wang Wei’s mouth tightened.
Then, Jiang Chenxing suddenly pulled out his phone: “No need for visible injuries. I recorded everything—again.”
Wang Wei: “!”
Zhang Zhenhao: “?” Not this cr*p again!
“You wanna go tattle to Director Xiong? Be my guest. I’ll explain everything too. You guys started it, we fought back. Legally, that’s called self-defense.”
Zhang Zhenhao’s face turned red with anger: “Y-you’re lying! I didn’t do anything!”
Jiang Chenxing played the recording—word for word, loud and clear.
Zhang Zhenhao couldn’t deny it. He turned beet red. “Jiang Chenxing, you sneaky b*stard!”
“I was protecting my friend—and myself.”
Zhang Zhenhao’s face grew darker. His eyes flicked dangerously—and suddenly, he lunged forward.
He was trying to grab the phone!
“You give me that—!”
Caught off guard, neither Chenxing nor Wang Wei had time to react. Zhenhao was going all out, like a mad dog.
“Give it!”
“No way!”
“Don’t piss me off! You’ll regret it!”
“In your dreams!”
…
In the chaos, Zhang Zhenhao raised his hand, aiming a full-force slap that could very well draw blood.
At the last second, a stronger hand grabbed him by the back of the collar and yanked him off his feet—sending him flying backward like an overturned turtle, legs flailing in the air.
His collar tightened around his throat, his eyes rolled back, and blue veins popped out on his forehead. He clutched his neck, gasping and coughing violently.
“Cough cough cough cough cough—”
His face turned bright red, lips bluish from lack of oxygen.
“Big Sis!” Jiang Chenxing’s eyes lit up, calling out in joy.
Wang Wei snapped out of his shock and turned his head—and then he was really stunned.
“Jiang-Jiang-Jiang-Jiang-Jiang… Senior Jiang?!”
“Hello.”
“Y-y-y-y-you… Hello!”
Jiang Fuyue looked at him, puzzled, then turned to her brother with a questioning look: Is your friend a stutterer?
“No. He’s just too excited.”
Wang Wei: “Y-y-y-y-yeah, I’m just too excited!”
Then he immediately wanted to slap himself.
Jiang Fuyue: “…”
Jiang Chenxing: “…”
“Sis, why are you here?”
“Someone mentioned it, so I came to take a look.”
Actually, it was Jiang Fuyue’s friends—Jiang Han, Ge Meng, and Liu Sisi—who had planned to meet at their usual spot on the playground to do homework after school.
Just as they were getting into it, they noticed Jiang Chenxing was being bullied.
Oh boy. That’s Sister Yue’s little brother!
Somebody’s got guts!
Liu Sisi rolled up her sleeves right then and there, clearly ready to throw down.
Jiang Han had the same idea. It wouldn’t be the first time.
They still remembered helping beat up that pudgy kid from the Hu family—so cool, so bad*ss.
When a heroine roars, who doesn’t tremble?
But just as they were about to rush over, they watched as Chenxing pulled off a clean reversal.
“No wonder he’s Sister Yue’s brother—those moves were solid.”
Liu Sisi nodded. He had been trained.
Those were textbook Taekwondo techniques.
“Should we still go over?” Ge Meng blinked.
Jiang Han: “Probably not needed anymore… but just to be safe, we should tell Sister Yue.”
Liu Sisi immediately called Jiang Fuyue to report the situation.
“I got it. I’m on my way.”
Which brings us to now.
Good thing she came in time—otherwise, Jiang Chenxing and his friend might’ve been in real trouble.
“Are you hurt?”
Chenxing shook his head. “No.”
She turned to Wang Wei.
“N-n-n-nope! I’m fine!”
“Good.”
“Sis…”
“Hmm?”
The boy who had just handled everything so coolly suddenly blushed, his ears turning pink. He lowered his head and gave a shy smile. “Did I do okay?”
He then quickly looked up, big black eyes full of hope.
Jiang Fuyue patted his head with a tiny smile. “Not bad. You showed some responsibility as a little man.”
Chenxing’s ears burned, but he grinned quietly.
When he’s shy, he tends to tuck his chin into his collar, lashes fluttering.
Wang Wei couldn’t believe it.
This quiet, aloof little prince?
That’s Jiang Chenxing?
But the most unbelievable thing was—
“Jiang-Jiang-Jiang… Senior Jiang, are you really his sister? His real sister?”
Jiang Fuyue nodded.
And the world spun for Wang Wei.
Same went for the stunned Zhang Zhenhao, now sprawled on the ground, along with his two completely incapacitated buddies…
