The person being called out froze for a moment, then stiffly turned his head toward Jiang Fuyue. “…You mean me?”
Jiang Fuyue: “Is there another Liang Jingzhou here?”
“W-what for?” Meeting her calm eyes made Liang Jingzhou uneasy, he even started stammering.
“Come here.”
He instinctively shook his head. “That’s not necessary, right?”
Jiang Fuyue’s lips curved. “What, are you scared? Relax, I’m not going to eat you.”
“What kind of joke is that?! Me, scared?!” Unfortunately, his hesitant little shuffle completely betrayed him.
Dragging his feet, he finally came to stand before the fishing net. “…What do you want with me?”
“Remember what you said last time?”
Liang Jingzhou shuddered. In his ears, the memory replayed—
From now on, you’re the master, I’m the grandson! Whatever you ask, I’ll agree to it…
Instantly, his face turned red, equal parts shame and embarrassment.
His toes dug into the ground involuntarily.
Jiang Fuyue said, “You said you’d agree to anything I ask. Do you still stand by those words?”
“I—I guess…?”
“Good. Then I want you to grab those two—” she tilted her chin toward Gu Huaiyu and Cheng Lian, “—and let us out of this net.”
Liang Jingzhou let out a dumbfounded “Huh?” completely at a loss.
Gu Huaiyu laughed lightly. “Classmate Jiang, aren’t you a bit too confident? With our relationship with Old Liang, what makes you think he’d help you?”
She replied calmly, “You never know until you try.”
“Heh… sorry to disappoint you, but you’re about to be.”
“Not necessarily.”
As soon as she said that, Liang Jingzhou suddenly reached out, gripping both their shoulders. No one knew what acupoint he hit, but their arms went numb, they couldn’t fight back.
The next second, the fishing net tore open. Liu Sisi folded her blade, slid it neatly back into its sheath, and tucked it at her waist.
Li Chen was dumbstruck.
Suddenly—“Sh*t!”
A sharp pain struck his wrist. He looked down to see a bloody bite mark, still glistening with fresh saliva.
Huo Fanjin bared her little teeth and, taking advantage of his shock, yanked free and ran to Jiang Fuyue’s side, cursing all the while: “Serves you right! Filthy jerk!”
Li Chen: “…”
In the blink of an eye, the four young masters were done for: one rebelled, one got bitten, and two were captured.
Total defeat!
Jiang Fuyue slowly tore the shredded fishing net from herself and tossed it aside.
Liu Sisi stepped forward to replace Liang Jingzhou, seizing Gu Huaiyu and Cheng Lian, one in each hand, with a grip like iron.
Their arms had just started to regain feeling, and they were waiting for the right moment to break free. With Liang Jingzhou’s limited strength, they could have easily overpowered him and turned the tables.
But then Liu Sisi took over.
She looked delicate and soft, but somehow her grip on their shoulders was like a steel clamp, so tight they could barely twitch.
Forget escaping, they couldn’t even move!
Cheng Lian gritted his teeth and tried to build up strength—
But in the next instant, Liu Sisi pressed down hard on his shoulders, forcing his upper body into a shrimp-like bend.
“Stay still!” she snapped, her palm tightening.
Cheng Lian grunted, his face turning faintly green from the pain.
Seeing that, Gu Huaiyu immediately gave up any thought of resisting.
He didn’t dare provoke Liu Sisi and definitely not Jiang Fuyue. So instead, he turned his fury toward Liang Jingzhou, shouting—
“You traitor! You actually teamed up with outsiders to take down your own brothers?!”
Liang Jingzhou hung his head, looking guilty as ever. “I-I didn’t have a choice…”
“Bullsh*t! You’re just a coward!”
“I told you guys not to do this, but you wouldn’t listen!”
“If it weren’t for you, would things have turned out like this? And you’re still trying to make excuses?!” Gu Huaiyu was so angry he nearly punched him in the face.
Liang Jingzhou muttered under his breath, “If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have even made it this far tonight…”
Cheng Lian’s head snapped up. “What do you mean?”
Liang Jingzhou’s gaze flickered.
“You knew something ahead of time, didn’t you?”
Gu Huaiyu froze and his look toward Liang Jingzhou changed.
“Don’t look at me like that, okay? I was forced!”
Cheng Lian: “When?”
Liang Jingzhou coughed lightly. “Before training camp even started, she already suspected you guys would pull some stunt. She threatened me into playing double agent, told me to infiltrate your side and follow her orders when necessary…”
“So you agreed?!”
Liang Jingzhou pouted. “I didn’t have a choice…”
It wasn’t just Liu Sisi’s punches he had to worry about, Jiang Fuyue’s fighting wasn’t something to scoff at either.
And worse, she didn’t only use her fists, she used her mouth, too. First she’d threaten and intimidate, then reason and persuade, then pressure and bribe, by the end, even if you didn’t want to agree, you had to.
Gu Huaiyu was fuming. “How old are you now? Why are you still such a pushover? This is a law-abiding society! If you’d stood firm and refused, she couldn’t actually do anything to you!”
“I know that…”
“Then why the h*ll did you still do it?!” Gu Huaiyu was furious.
Liang Jingzhou muttered, “Even if I didn’t, Liu Sisi had a knife, she could’ve just cut through the net herself. Better one of us makes it out alive than all four go down together.”
Like right now, he’d made it out just fine.
Gu Huaiyu’s mouth twitched violently.
Cheng Lian was speechless.
“You seriously think you’re making sense?!”
Liang Jingzhou: “…But I’m not wrong, am I?”
He wasn’t wrong at all!
Liang Jingzhou: So… how’s this grandson act of mine?
