After Running Away Pregnant, I Ended Up on the Wanted Lists of Both the Demon Venerable and the Immortal Venerable Chapter 4

This Is Really Taking a Grass’s Life!

During the days of having the Glazed Tile Stone pot, Jian Zhen’s sleep time was comparatively long.

After sleeping another round in the flowerpot, when it slowly woke up, it had originally thought it would awaken on Immortal Mountain as before, but unexpectedly, what met its eyes was still the grand hall of the demon realm.

Jian Zhen was rarely a bit surprised.

Most of the time, as a twin immortal grass, after each sleep its consciousness would awaken in the other immortal grass. If today it was Demon Realm Mountain, then tomorrow it would be Immortal Mountain, alternating like this. Yet it hadn’t expected that this time, it would remain on Demon Realm Mountain without switching.

The crisp sound of bronze bells rose beneath the corridors of the hall.

“You’re awake.” The red-robed woman walked over from afar to near. Yan Ji held jade dew and stood beneath the window ledge, saying, “Before departing, the Lord Demon Venerable instructed people to come take care of you.”

On the window ledge, the little grass in the flowing-light pot slightly raised its branches, clearly seeing who had come.

Yan Ji gently poured the jade dew into the potting soil. “It’s my first time taking care of grass, so I don’t really understand. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, you must tell me. If something happens to you, His Excellency will definitely kill me.”

Under the night, the soft, tender green branches of the grass in the pot swayed. Its affectionate leaves brushed against Yan Ji’s hand. Hehe, it’s very easy to raise!

Yan Ji suddenly widened her eyes, her hand trembling slightly.

Lamplight on the window ledge spilled down. Jian Zhen looked at her somewhat puzzled, not understanding what was going on.

Yan Ji raised her hand, her gaze carrying a bit of excitement, and said, “The other day in the northern lands, when I used red-snake poison to kill that heartless man, some snake poison that hadn’t dissipated got on my hand. But just now, when you, a little thing, touched me, the poison dissipated!”

Moonlight spilled over the entire demon hall, the immortal grass planted in the glazed tile flowerpot seeming to emit a soft, glowing light.

Yan Ji covered her hand and said with emotion, “It truly is the rarest spiritual plant between heaven and earth, able to neutralize all poisons. No wonder the Demon Lord values you so highly. Thank you this time, little grass. I owe you a favor. When you transform in the future, I will certainly thank you properly.”

After hearing this, Jian Zhen in the pot gently swayed its branches. No need to thank me, after all it is a helpful little grass!

After Yan Ji left, the hall returned to silence.

The Demon God’s hall was not a place ordinary people could come to. Apart from the guards outside the hall, there was basically no one who could enter. On days when Ye Jisheng was present, Jian Zhen could at least see figures moving about; today, with no one at all, it felt even more desolate.

Where did he go?

It seemed that during the day the High Priest had mentioned that today was a red moon, and the matter of the curse on Ye Jisheng.

Jian Zhen’s little head carefully recalled it. In the past, every time it reached this day, Ye Jisheng would disappear. Could it be related to this curse? Would there be danger? After thinking for a while and still not figuring it out, forget it. He was so excessive anyway, always liked teasing it for fun, and even gave it the name Zhuzhu*. Why should it care about the big bad guy’s affairs!
*pigpig

The hall was utterly silent, and before long the little grass fell asleep.

The wind swept across the mountains, clouds and mist were stripped away, and a blood-red moon reflected between heaven and earth.

“Crack.”

A clear sound of shattering rang out from within the hall.

The glazed tile flowerpot that had been standing quietly on the windowsill began to spread cracks from bottom to top. Inch by inch, the sound of fracturing rang out, and the crystalline little grass in the pot was also wrapped in a faint layer of frost-like qi.

So cold… so cold……

Jian Zhen suddenly woke from dormancy, the cold qi surging violently through its meridians, making the pain unbearable!

It was about to transform.

An extremely strong premonition arose in its mind. It had no experience of transformation, and at this moment there was no one else in the hall. The glazed tile pot was dissolving inch by inch, and the icy crystalline spiritual qi surged together like a tide into the immortal grass. The instantaneous swelling sensation in its meridians made Jian Zhen’s leaves tremble uncontrollably. The red moon in the sky emitted an eerie and icy light. Intense pain spread through the grass’s entire body, pain beyond endurance.

“Crash.”

The pot made of Glazed Tile Stone seemed to finally be unable to hold on, completely collapsing and breaking apart.

The grass, in pain to the extreme, was like a fish that had finally reached water, gaining a moment to catch its breath. Jian Zhen subconsciously wiped at its sweat.

Wait……

Sweat?

Somewhat sluggishly lifting its face, borrowing the inner sun mirror of the demon hall to see its current appearance: a crystal-clear little sprite, round and plump like a jade snow dumpling, with a small emerald-green sprout on its round head swaying slightly with its movements, looking exceptionally soft and cute. Most importantly,

it was only palm-sized!!!

Jian Zhen completely broke down. What it wanted was a human form! How did it turn into a little bun?

Just as it was thinking this.

The moonlight of the red moon outside the window poured into the hall. The wind rose, the curtains fluttered, and that sharp pain actually returned. Sitting by the windowsill, the plant spirit that had just formed its spiritual body instantly felt its head splitting with pain. Jian Zhen had never endured such pain before; it only felt as though its entire body could not find any point of support in the air, as if it were about to be torn apart, its consciousness gradually becoming scattered.

“Boom!! Roar!”

It didn’t know how long it had been unconscious when enormous roars belonging to demonic beasts came from afar, one after another, shaking the ears.

Moon dew fell, the night thick and heavy.

Jian Zhen suddenly opened its eyes. What entered its sight was not the demon hall or the scenery of Immortal Mountain, but a vast starry sky. High in the heavens hung a red moon, emitting an eerie, mist-like, ethereal moonlight.

Before Jian Zhen could clearly see its surroundings, the ground suddenly shook. Heavy footsteps belonging to demonic beasts thundered over. It turned its head and saw several gigantic three-headed demonic beasts baring serrated teeth as they charged straight toward it!!

Jian Zhen had never seen such a scene. Turning its head, the entire grass froze stiff in place from fright.

Waa waa waa, what is this?!

Seeing the demonic beasts about to reach it, their enormous claws about to tear it apart and crush it flat, the earth-shaking movements frightened the little grass, who had not descended the mountain for a hundred years, to the point where tears were almost falling.

My life is over!

The plant spirit shrank into a whole trembling little ball. The pain it had imagined did not arrive. Blood splattered across the night sky as several enormous demonic dragons let out skyward roars and collapsed heavily.

Blood splashed within arm’s reach. The thick, bloody stench hit its face as if right before it, reflected in Jian Zhen’s terrified eyes. It slowly raised its head and looked forward.

Under the firmament, dense mist surged between heaven and earth.

Ye Jisheng stood on a small hill not far away. His dark robes were stained with a layer of dark red.

Countless demonic creatures’ corpses littered the ground.

The crimson soul fire around his body seemed to devour everything.

With the red moon overhead, every inch of land he walked bloomed with vivid colors dyed red by blood. Countless demonic beasts that had lost their minds rushed forward one after another. Blades formed from soul fire swept through the air, blood qi splattering everywhere.

Jian Zhen watched as Ye Jisheng drew closer step by step.

No, this was not Ye Jisheng.

In its hundred years in the demon realm, it had seen the Demon God’s appearance countless times, yet it had never seen a Ye Jisheng like this, his entire body wrapped in intense killing intent, bloodthirsty and mad, indiscriminate destruction and slaughter. At this moment, this place was like a human purgatory!

A group of demonic birds swooped down in an ambush from the sky. Ye Jisheng did not even turn his head. Vast demonic qi turned into blades in the air.

Piercing bird cries split the sky.

A rain of blood poured down. Between heaven and earth, only the dark-robed man stood there. Wherever he passed, living beings were plunged into ruin.

The plant spirit hiding behind a rock was frozen in terror, shuddering.

Almost in an instant.

As soon as it moved, sharp sword qi descended. When the little lump raised its head again, a sharp soul-fire sword had landed before it, carrying overwhelming murderous qi. Ye Jisheng stood high above, his crimson eyes cold and emotionless. Their gazes met, like the most cruel judgment decree. With but the slightest movement of Ye Jisheng’s soul sword, it could be made to have its soul scattered and body turned into blood water.

A tremendous fear would always stimulate the instinct to survive.

The round little grass-wood spirit shrank back in terror, then, without even turning its head, ran straight ahead, woo waaah, save me, they’re killing grass, no, don’t! It had only just taken form and didn’t want to die yet!!!

“Bang”

The little grass, running without any sense of direction, slammed into an invisible air barrier formed of demonic power.

Jian Zhen felt dizzy, shook its head in pain, yet with just one lift of its gaze, it saw the soul sword from moments before suddenly suspended right before its brows and eyes, the sharp blade glinting with cold light under the moonlight!

The immortal grass spirit was frightened stiff, slowly, somewhat rigidly, turning its body to look back.

A red moon hung in the sky, mist filled the mountain valley, ghostly and eerie.

Ye Jisheng stood upon a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood.

He stood there in a languid posture, crimson-red eyes gleaming with icy light, gazing at it from afar, as though he had discovered something interesting.

Suddenly.

Ye Jisheng smiled. That handsome face blooming with a smile instead made one’s scalp prickle; he spoke slowly: “Zhuzhu, come here.”

The words had barely fallen when the trembling grass-and-wood dumpling shuddered again.

Jian Zhen wanted painfully to clutch its head. So scary, woo woo woo, just because you tell me to go over, I have to go over? It was a grass with backbone, it didn’t want to go over! It would die!

The air fell utterly silent.

The surrounding temperature suddenly became unbearably scorching. Beneath the red moon, Ye Jisheng’s black robes were almost dyed completely blood-red. As they lifted with the wind, they looked like living flames burning.

Seeing that Jian Zhen did not move.

Ye Jisheng’s red eyes clearly carried a smile, yet contained endless chill: “Don’t make me say it a second time.”

Almost the moment the words ended, the little spirit cowardly formed into a tight ball, hurriedly ran toward him. A grass that knew the times was a hero, it still wanted to live a bit longer. Dying later versus dying now, it could still tell the difference!

Jian Zhen had only just taken form and flew too fast, failing to brake in time. Just as it was about to roll onto the ground and fall into the corpse-blood, it was caught by a pair of hands. Ye Jisheng’s hands were blazing hot, making it shudder all over.

Eh?

The little spirit that hadn’t fallen steadied itself while sitting in Ye Jisheng’s palm. From farther away earlier it hadn’t seen clearly; only now did it realize something was wrong. Red flame-like patterns spread from Ye Jisheng’s palm across his entire body, even faintly emitting light beneath the red moon. These strange, eerie patterns were unbearably hot, could this be the curse the High Priest had spoken of?

Just being close to a bit of the pattern on his hand was already so hot; the suffering of the owner of this body was unimaginable.

Jian Zhen tentatively nudged him with its body.

It was originally an extremely cold body formed from Luminous Glazed Tile Stone, cold to an extreme. Wherever it touched, the glow of the patterns dimmed and no longer shone, and the scorching heat vanished along with it.

It works!!!

And it wasn’t so cold itself anymore!

Jian Zhen’s eyes lit up. Just as it wanted to try again, the body that had absorbed the miasma of the curse seal swayed, and a dense wave of drowsiness surged up. Seeing the little dumpling about to fall again, it was once more scooped up by a hand.

Before consciousness faded, the little grass spirit hazily saw Ye Jisheng’s fingertip rest upon its body. After a long silence, he let out a soft laugh: “Stupid grass.”

Jian Zhen: “……”

Don’t badmouth people while they’re unconscious!!

After Running Away Pregnant, I Ended Up on the Wanted Lists of Both the Demon Venerable and the Immortal Venerable

Status: Ongoing
Jian Zhen is a twin-born immortal grass. By a twist of fate, it fell onto the spirit mountains of both the Immortal and Demon Realms. By the time Jian Zhen slowly developed spiritual awareness, it had already sprouted and grown on two different mountains. Worth mentioning is that one stalk grew in front of the Demon Venerable’s windowsill, and the other outside the Immortal Venerable’s window. These two big shots are existences that no one in the Three Realms dares to provoke. So neither of them has friends, and the unfortunate Jian Zhen became the object of both their confidences. By day, Jian Zhen listened to the Immortal Venerable tell gossip about the various cultivation clans and all kinds of interesting stories from the Immortal Realm. By night, it listened to the Demon Venerable talk about what evils demons and monsters from various places had committed, and where rare treasures of the Demon Realm were hidden. Over a hundred years, everything that should or shouldn’t have been heard was thoroughly understood by Jian Zhen. Perhaps because it absorbed the power of two treasured lands at the same time, Jian Zhen, with less than a thousand years of cultivation, actually transformed into human form. In order to avoid being silenced, it ran away! …… In the 25th year of the Cultivation Continent, the rulers of the Immortal and Demon Realms suddenly issued wanted orders at the same time. The entire Three Realms were mobilized to search for an immortal grass. Anyone who provided clues could obtain extremely precious treasures from the Demon Venerable and the Immortal Ancestor. This wanted order shocked everyone: “What kind of person could possibly offend both the Immortal Venerable and the Demon Venerable at the same time?” “What incredible ability.” “This immortal grass must have some especially powerful ability or special trait, right?” “Did it steal some kind of spiritual treasure from the big shots?” At this moment Jian Zhen was hiding in some unknown place, unable to bear it as pregnancy nausea surged up: “Ugh……” An immortal grass that transformed after only a hundred years, because it absorbed the heaven-and-earth spiritual energy of two spiritual lands at the same time, experienced a sudden expansion of its spiritual body during transformation. In its muddled state of consciousness, it seemed that it really had dual cultivation with one of the big shots. Only…… Jian Zhen covered its stomach, wanting to cry but having no tears. Didn’t steal any spiritual treasures, does carrying a cub count?
