After the Breakup, He Washed Away the Memories Chapter 56

Chapter 56

<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>

Rong Qiu didn’t notice Qin Muye’s strangeness. He was no longer nervous this time, not casually touching like the first time, having read enough books to compensate for the lack of practical experience in the past five years.

So, when the two were open and honest, Rong Qiu remained calm. Although his ears were slightly red, his face remained serene.

On the contrary, Qin Muye, burdened with something on his mind, was tense to the extreme.

To the point that Rong Qiu’s attempts at seduction left him absent-minded.

When Rong Qiu’s fingertips brushed his nose, he thought of how Rong Qiu had been alone and helpless in the Fourth Military District. When Rong Qiu’s fingertips paused at the corner of his mouth, he thought of Rong Qiu’s sadness when he was wrongly sent back to school by the Fourth Military District. Finally, as Rong Qiu’s hand slowly moved downward, Qin Muye was struck as if by lightning, his mind filled with scenes of him throwing away the phone and pen.

The S-class alpha’s body trembled all over, his teeth tightly clenched. Rong Qiu could even hear a faint “crackling” sound.

Rong Qiu looked up, and at the same time, the hand that was moving downward also stopped.

The alpha was grinding his teeth.

Rong Qiu stood up, turning the bedside lamp brighter.

Frowning, he said, “If you’re not willing, forget it.”

He thought Qin Muye still couldn’t overcome the psychological barrier, so Rong Qiu responded understandingly, “Let’s cancel our contract. Commander Qin can find a bed partner who suits you better.”

Qin Muye came to his senses.

Through the dim light of the bedside lamp, he engraved Rong Qiu’s impatient and handsome face into his eyes.

A voice amplified infinitely in his heart.

This is the Rong Qiu who forgot that memory, what are you waiting for?

The S-class alpha’s Adam’s apple rolled lightly, reflecting a yellowish halo under the light. Rong Qiu thought Qin Muye’s Adam’s apple looked beautiful, both large and delicate – these two characteristics were not contradictory.

He was still waiting for Qin Muye’s response, and Qin Muye didn’t keep him waiting long.

The alpha slowly sat up, his gaze staying on Rong Qiu, unsure if it was three seconds or five seconds. Then, the man grabbed the beta’s slender arm, pulled forcefully, and embraced him. It was a warm and sturdy hug, filled with the fragrance of sandalwood. Rong Qiu felt his scalp tingle from the sudden movement, and he could even sense the man’s deep breath starting to resonate from his chest.

This embrace was broad, thick, and gentle.

Surprisingly, it gave Rong Qiu a feeling of being loved.

Rong Qiu blinked in a daze.

He wanted to push away, but when his arm was placed between him and the man, it was weak and futile. All his strength seemed to be invisibly taken away, and he could only be tightly held by the man.

“Don’t move, let me relax for a bit.”

Rong Qiu thought that when Qin Muye said “relax,” he was psychologically preparing for the act below. It didn’t seem like Qin Muye’s “relax” was about letting go of the past memories and facing the current Rong Qiu with a calm and rational attitude.

This hug lasted for who knew how long, and Rong Qiu’s neck was numb.

His chin rested on the alpha’s shoulder, and the alpha’s shoulder was wide. He remembered that his chin was quite sharp, and normally, resting it on his arm was uncomfortable. Wasn’t Qin Muye uncomfortable?

Finally—

“I’m okay now.”

“My neck is sore.”

Both spoke at the same time, and after speaking, both were surprised. Qin Muye let go of his hand, and Rong Qiu emerged from the alpha’s embrace. He rubbed his neck with one hand, but he dared not look directly at Qin Muye.

Indeed, lust clouded judgment.

He actually felt that, in close proximity, Qin Muye’s beauty was even more significant. But soon, Rong Qiu corrected his attitude, preparing for the second attempt at negotiation.

However, when he smelled the familiar scent of sandalwood, a sudden question popped into his mind.

“Why didn’t I smell your perfume before, but suddenly I can smell it now?”

The scent of sandalwood was pleasant, but being so close was like having concentrated fragrance directly on his nose, making him somewhat disoriented. Qin Muye didn’t seem to have this perfume smell when he entered, as if it slowly diffused when Rong Qiu was undressing him.

Transitioning from a faint woody scent to a rich sandalwood aroma.

What kind of perfume was this?

So overpowering, yet the fragrance grew stronger.

Qin Muye looked inexplicable. He reached out to touch the burning back of his neck. Even though there was an pheromone-blocking device, he could feel the burning heat in that area. Realizing that his pheromones were starting to leak, and fearing that Rong Qiu wouldn’t believe him, he simply took Rong Qiu’s hand and placed it on the back of his neck.

“It’s not a perfume scent; it’s the smell of my pheromones.”

“Oh, it turns out to be the scent of pheromones…”

Rong Qiu absentmindedly followed him, muttering behind him, his palm pressed against the man’s clearly defined neck bones. He looked up, finally emerging from his daze: “Can I, as a beta, also smell the pheromones of an alpha?”

“Yes, but betas who can smell pheromones are rare.”

He had previously exposed himself because he smelled the alpha pheromones on Rong Qiu, but at that time, he had lied to Rong Qiu, only saying that betas also have a unique way of smelling the scent of alphas.

Thinking about how many times he had deceived Rong Qiu, Qin Muye’s heart ached.

He hoped Rong Qiu would never remember.

But as soon as he finished speaking, Rong Qiu brought up his beta lover: “Ah Ye once told me that there are methods in the Federation to allow betas to smell alpha pheromones, and even alpha pheromones can have an effect on beta individuals, although not as strong as on alpha individuals or omega individuals.”

Knowing that he belonged to the few betas who could smell alpha pheromones, Rong Qiu didn’t think he was anything special.

But what he was grateful for was being able to smell Qin Muye’s pleasant pheromones.

And they were so similar to his beta lover’s perfume.

Smelling this strong wood pheromone, Rong Qiu lowered his head and sniffed earnestly: “I was going to ask you the name of the perfume you and Ah Ye use, but your scent is the scent of pheromones, and I can’t replicate the same scent.”

Before Qin Muye could speak, he quietly added, “But it’s too much of a coincidence that you and my beta lover look alike and smell so good. I really don’t know what else is different between you except for your backgrounds and second genders.”

Qin Muye dared not bring up this topic with Rong Qiu now. Zhao Dongqi’s meaning was to avoid stimulating Rong Qiu after hypnosis as much as possible, preferably not exposing Rong Qiu to the hotbed of old memories.

Zhao Dongqi even gave him an example.

Rong Qiu, who had his memories erased, would be like a vegetable lying in bed, not knowing when he would wake up, or he might never wake up again. But the key to whether he would wake up or not lay in whether there were necessary stimuli during the time when his memories were erased.

There were many points that could stimulate Rong Qiu.

But there was always one point that could deeply hurt Rong Qiu.

However, Qin Muye didn’t know how to avoid it. All he could do was try to keep Rong Qiu away from all memories related to the past as much as possible.

Whether they were true memories or reshaped memories, it was best not to return to Rong Qiu’s mind.

So Qin Muye didn’t want to bring up this topic with Rong Qiu.

He took the opportunity to extinguish one of the desk lamps. The whole room suddenly became dimmer, with only the lamp on Rong Qiu’s side still shining brightly, reflecting Rong Qiu’s side face, which was as clear and beautiful as jade, exceptionally good-looking.

Seeing Qin Muye not speaking, Rong Qiu thought he didn’t want to discuss the issue and cleverly stopped talking.

After all, the glands and pheromones of an alpha were very secretive information. It was normal for Qin Muye not to want to talk much about it.

Rong Qiu was understanding.

After turning off the light, he moved closer to Qin Muye’s side. Although the bed was two meters wide and seemed empty when he slept alone, it suddenly became crowded with Qin Muye on the left. With a few random movements, he either bumped into Qin Muye’s arms or kicked his legs. Fortunately, Qin Muye didn’t mind and sensibly moved aside, giving him more space to move around.

From Rong Qiu’s perspective, he could see Qin Muye’s handsome profile, which, under the illumination of the lamp on his side, exuded a mature and stern aura.

He moved closer again until they were only a fist’s distance apart.

Qin Muye’s breath had already stopped. Rong Qiu’s clear face suddenly appeared in front of him, almost causing the alpha to forget how to breathe.

He remembered Rong Qiu had said they would only do it but not kiss, so he didn’t expect Rong Qiu to kiss him.

They had enough time to take it slow.

But Qin Muye’s eyes darkened slightly.

Because this time there would be no phone call to interrupt Rong Qiu, so after five years of being with him, their roles would eventually reverse.

However, there was still a slight hope in the alpha’s heart. If Rong Qiu found that being on top wasn’t as good as he thought, would he be willing to switch back?

They still maintained an arm’s length distance, and Rong Qiu seemed to freeze in place.

Motionless.

Qin Muye waited for Rong Qiu’s next move for a long time but couldn’t help furrowing his brows, showing a hint of confusion.

“What’s wrong?”

“What’s this here?!”

Although just an ordinary question, Rong Qiu’s voice was unexpectedly sharp. The alpha felt his earlobe; this was the spot Rong Qiu was referring to.

Qin Muye didn’t feel anything unusual; it was just his ear.

But Rong Qiu ruthlessly pinched and kneaded his earlobe with his fingertips, the force so strong that it caused him a stinging sensation. He could feel Rong Qiu’s nails almost digging in.

The alpha let out a sharp breath.

But Rong Qiu remained unmoved.

Because facing away from the bedside lamp, the alpha couldn’t see Rong Qiu’s expression clearly, only that Rong Qiu’s face was now blurry in the darkness, while his entire beta body was trembling violently.

Finally, Qin Muye realized something was wrong.

Rong Qiu had seemed normal just now when they were talking about pheromones, but now he was trembling as if in extreme fear and panic, completely losing control.

Indeed, that was the case.

When Rong Qiu saw the familiar red mole on the alpha’s earlobe, all his composure was shattered. It was a red mole, although small, it was rare in that it had a solid triangular shape.

Could such a coincidence exist in the world?

Coinciding with the same appearance and voice, the owner also had an identical red mole in the same position.

If before Rong Qiu could console himself that Qin Muye’s appearance was just a coincidence, now this coincidence was too extreme.

So extreme that Rong Qiu couldn’t even convince himself.

Not only was the red mole similar, but there was also that inexplicably familiar scent of wood. A flash of white light passed before Rong Qiu’s eyes, and he felt as if he were in a huge dark cage, unable to see the light, surrounded by concealment and lies.

He tried hard to steady his emotions but couldn’t do it.

His head began to ache severely.

In Qin Muye’s eyes, Rong Qiu now seemed to have lost his spirit and soul, trembling all over. No matter what he said or did, Rong Qiu didn’t respond.

He had seen Rong Qiu like this last month when Rong Qiu was drinking with Rong Qin at home and got drunk. Rong Qiu, when drunk, briefly exhibited this state, rejecting him, avoiding him, and even sitting on the sofa with his knees hugged, unwilling to let him come near.

The same situation was happening again, but it was even more severe this time.

Qin Muye was very uneasy.

Rong Qiu didn’t speak, didn’t make any movements. This state of his was like the calm before the storm. Qin Muye felt a strong sense of impending doom, which intensified with each passing moment of Rong Qiu’s silence.

Finally, this restless and uneasy feeling reached its peak the moment Rong Qiu softly called out to him, “Ah Ye”.

Qin Muye widened his eyes, as if unable to believe what he had heard: “Qiuqiu, what did you just call me!?”

He would rather Rong Qiu remain unfamiliar with him, still calling him Commander Qin or directly by his name, rather than Rong Qiu calling him “Ah Ye” again, like he did five years ago…

Who is “Ah Ye”?

“Ah Ye” is the moonlight in Rong Qiu’s heart, the beta lover who has been dead in Rong Qiu’s memory for five years. It couldn’t be him.

But now, Rong Qiu had just called him “Ah Ye”.

***

Rong Qiu drove Qin Muye out.

When Rong Qiu showed displeasure and reluctance, Qin Muye’s heart shattered into countless pieces. He tremblingly put on his clothes, but saw Rong Qiu hugging his knees, completely in a self-protective stance.

As he approached, Rong Qiu retreated a few centimeters until his back pressed against the hard bed board, then frowned, unable to retreat any further.

The expression on Rong Qiu’s face was very obvious.

His jaw clenched tightly, his eyes warning him silently with their oval shape.

Don’t come closer!

Qin Muye’s gaze shrank, his steps awkwardly froze in mid-air, each second infinitely prolonged.

Rong Qiu’s rejection was clear to him.

He couldn’t bear to see it again, nor did he dare to.

His presence would only remind Rong Qiu of that absurd year.

Qin Muye bitterly smiled. Now he was sitting in the car, parked outside Rong Qiu’s villa. Even though the person he longed for was inside, Qin Muye’s heart felt like it was being pricked with needles.

Even though Rong Qiu had only called him “Ah Ye” once, he sensitively understood all of Rong Qiu’s changes.

Rong Qiu had regained his memory.

Regained his memory for no apparent reason.

The alpha painfully recalled every detail of tonight, from entering Rong Qiu’s house to being driven out. He couldn’t find any factors that could have upset Rong Qiu.

Was it the pheromones of wood scent on him?

Or was it his ear?

His ear!

His ear was still hurting. He reached out to touch it; the part of his earlobe Rong Qiu had pinched was swollen and numb. The mark Rong Qiu had left was still there, a very obvious pinch mark.

Rong Qiu had started losing control from that point.

But what was wrong with his ear? Qin Muye turned on the car’s interior light, inspecting his earlobe in the rearview mirror. The crescent-shaped pinch mark was very clear, but even clearer was a small red mole in the center of the mark.

Qin Muye’s gaze froze.

His ear actually had such a red mole!

***

This red mole was the last straw for Rong Qiu.

As early as before Rong Qiu’s birthday yesterday, he had shown signs of something unusual. Every year, his birthday was neither surprising nor exciting, just like an ordinary day, or even worse than an ordinary day.

The first time he met Qin Muye was interrupted by a call from Rong Qin, and he and Rong Qin got drunk. His consciousness was already hazy, but because Qin Muye appeared in his house, he showed some strangeness. While drunk, he was afraid and timid, his physiological instinct urging him to stay away from Qin Muye.

The day after he sobered up, he also underwent a recheck but didn’t pay much attention to it.

He just thought it was his vigilance towards strangers, because even though Qin Muye had become his bed partner through a contract, he was still just an alpha who stayed in his house for the first time.

His reaction was even stronger when he met Qin Muye for the second time.

Because this time happened to coincide with his birthday.

November 11th, his sixth year at the Thirteenth Army District and the sixth year since he had his memories erased. Qin Muye’s appearance completely broke through his psychological defense line, bringing out the things he least wanted to remember.

And when he saw the red mole on Qin Muye’s earlobe, everything became clear, as if an electric current had pierced his meridian, his thoughts clear and full of grief.

He remembered everything, everything came flooding back.

This S-class alpha’s most fundamental identity was the alpha who had deceived him, toyed with him, and eventually coldly dealt with him five years ago.

Realizing this, Rong Qiu’s mind suddenly exploded, a feeling of being cut by a thousand knives slowly enveloping him.

He didn’t want to see Qin Muye.

This alpha only brought him endless deception and pain.

After Qin Muye left, Rong Qiu vigorously slapped his own head. He had undergone hypnosis, erased his memories, so why had his memories returned again?

Most importantly, why had he encountered Qin Muye here again?

Shouldn’t an S-class alpha like Qin Muye stay in the First Military District and rise to the top? Originally, he wanted to avoid Qin Muye, which was why he insisted on coming to the Thirteenth Military District after erasing his memories. But now everything coincidentally resembles a melodramatic idol drama.

Rong Qiu had no idea what to do now. Clearly, five years ago, he had planned out a very good path for himself. He didn’t expect to stray from that path five years later. And the person tempting him down this wrong path was the alpha who had broken his heart five years ago.

This night, Rong Qiu was completely immersed in all the memories.

He turned on the dim yellow light, using the time to sort through all his memories and also straighten out his heart.

Memories from five years gradually resurfaced.

Between five years ago and five years later, there was like a clear boundary. Now, the two memories broke through the high dam, merging together.

What is true? What is false?

Now, Rong Qiu could finally distinguish clearly.

That beta lover was false, someone he had fabricated to forever love him. But the S-class alpha who became his bed partner after his memory was erased was real.

Real and false memories intertwined, presenting a highly contrasting S-class alpha in Rong Qiu’s heart.

Five years ago in the bar, the alpha himself had said that he was just a beta in the eyes of the alpha, and the alpha was just playing with him… Since it was all over five years ago, completely over, why would this S-class alpha still come back to him after five years? Why pretend to be so affectionate?

Pretending to be the one below, even before becoming his bed partner, he had bowed his head, hoping he would become the alpha’s husband.

To deceive him, was it worth such a big price?

But now, he would not be deceived by this S-class alpha anymore. Once bitten by a snake, one is afraid of ropes for ten years. The memories from five years ago were too painful, so painful that he wished he could go back in time and wake himself up.

***

This night, Qin Muye’s car remained parked in front of Rong Qiu’s villa.

From the moment he came out, he quietly watched the room on the second floor where Rong Qiu was.

At midnight, Rong Qiu’s light remained on; at one o’clock, Rong Qiu’s light was still on, and it stayed on until six in the morning. Qin Muye watched for as long as Rong Qiu’s light was on.

After six o’clock, dawn broke in the east. A fiery red sun gradually rose from the east, but Qin Muye’s heart felt like it had plunged into an eternal cold night despite the sunlight.

The sun gradually rose, but the sunlight without warmth shone on the frost outside.

Clearly, it was sunlight, but it couldn’t warm the frost on the ground.

Qin Muye felt like he was immersed in that frost. He had maintained the same posture in the car all night, watching the light on Rong Qiu’s terrace and then in the living room. He suddenly tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

At seven thirty in the morning, Rong Qiu got up to make breakfast.

He didn’t dare let Rong Qiu discover he was still here, so he parked the car in a temporary parking spot around the corner and watched the direction of Rong Qiu’s villa from afar.

Twenty minutes later, Qin Muye saw Rong Qiu, who should have been resting at home, coming out.

The beta was dressed very lightly, and it was cold on this autumn morning. There was still a heavy fog on the roadside. Rong Qiu wore a thin white long-sleeved inner shirt. In the white frost of the autumn morning, he looked as pale as a thin piece of paper, dispersing with a gust of wind.

Rong Qiu was going to pilot a mecha.

So he took the keys and drove to the restricted area.

He didn’t notice Qin Muye’s car and, with an expressionless face, got into his car. He left Qin Muye’s sight at a steady and safe speed.

Qin Muye followed all the way.

Rong Qiu’s car eventually drove into the restricted area of the Thirteenth Military District.

Qin Muye also passed the iris scan. Even the person in charge here eagerly came to meet Qin Muye, who accepted his kindness. He wasn’t here for official inspections; he just wanted to see what Rong Qiu was doing.

Rong Qiu was well-known in this restricted area.

Because all the test flights of the mechs he had successfully designed and developed were completed here, and all of them were personally piloted by Rong Qiu. So this restricted area had watched Rong Qiu’s mechs gradually take shape, and even later, it provided a free placement for Rong Qiu’s private mech.

It was both proactive assistance and a certain degree of control.

Rong Qiu’s private mech was far more flexible and powerful than the military mechs he had designed. If it weren’t for the lack of suitable large-scale thermal weapons, Rong Qiu’s private mech would definitely be the top mech.

Listening to the person in charge’s praise, Qin Muye’s eyes never left the surveillance of the restricted area.

In the surveillance, Rong Qiu piloted his mech.

Rong Qiu sat in the cockpit of the mech, and Qin Muye couldn’t see Rong Qiu’s expression. All he could see was Rong Qiu’s emotionless identity check before boarding the mech, and then the mech cabin’s cold and silent atmosphere.

Then the mech exited the hangar.

The sleek black mecha smoothly passed through the mecha passage, gliding to the exit before pausing briefly. Qin Muye watched as Rong Qiu’s mecha plummeted downward, resembling a heavy object sinking to the bottom of the sea.

Qin Muye was suddenly startled, his body leaning forward slightly.

Because the way the mecha fell was all too familiar to him, reminiscent of the scene five years ago when Rong Qiu’s mecha plunged into the depths of the sea.

However, the person next to him remained calm, seemingly accustomed to such scenes. Seeing Qin Muye’s surprised expression, the responsible person smiled officially.

“Rong Qiu is very talented, whether it’s designing machines or operating them, he’s top-notch.”

As soon as the words fell, the two saw Rong Qiu’s mecha, which was about to plunge into the sea, suddenly glide out in an extremely smooth arc, soaring into the sky. The driving style behind him was also as unpredictable, one moment soaring high in the sky, the next plummeting straight into the sea.

Qin Muye’s heart felt like a roller coaster as he watched.

“Does he always pilot like this?” Qin Muye asked calmly.

He knew Rong Qiu might be aware of it, but he still couldn’t help but feel worried.

The person in charge nodded. “At first, we were afraid too. When he first arrived, even piloting the junk mechs in the military district, he was so brave. When we asked him why he piloted like that, he only said that he had experienced similar accidents before and wanted to avoid them. Later, no accidents happened in our district, so we let him be.”

Hearing that Rong Qiu piloted like this because of a past accident, Qin Muye’s heart sank.

Even though Rong Qiu had his memories erased, he still remembered that accident. Some wounds just lingered, and no matter what others said, they couldn’t be easily forgotten. Watching Rong Qiu’s mech circle around and around, his heart and body endured torture time and time again.

As his heart ached, he remembered something and called Rong Qin.

He had to inform Rong Qin about Rong Qiu’s memory recovery. It would be best if Rong Qin could stay by Rong Qiu’s side. He was really worried about Rong Qiu’s current state. After getting out of the mech, Rong Qiu didn’t show any relaxation or joy; his face remained cold and gloomy.

But the call he made wasn’t answered.

At this time, Rong Qin was being blocked by Qin Zexi, and he was still trapped in his own office.

Rong Qin was wearing a well-fitted black suit. He loosened his tie and looked tiredly at the alpha in front of him, who was ten times more fierce than him. Whether it was his words, expressions, or actions, they all clearly told Qin Zexi that he was annoyed.

Qin Zexi slammed his hands on the desk in front of him. “Why aren’t you coming to work at the company?”

“Have you forgotten? I took three months off before, and you agreed,” Rong Qin replied wearily.

“That’s because we weren’t arguing like this back then. I thought you were just tired, so I let you take the leave. But now, are you tired enough to take leave?”

Qin Zexi was displeased with Rong Qin’s negligence for a long time.

The two of them argued again.

As the argument escalated, Qin Zexi’s voice grew louder and his emotions became more intense, attracting many of Rong Qin’s colleagues and subordinates. Rong Qin gestured for them to leave, but Qin Zexi noticed among them were alphas.

Rong Qin felt that Qin Zexi was simply unreasonable. He drove away the people outside the blinds, then stood in front of Qin Zexi with his arms crossed, his eyes already filled with ice.

“You can argue at home, but don’t lose face outside.”

“You think I’m losing face!?” Qin Zexi’s face flushed with anger. “Who’s losing face? Who caused such a big commotion with the volunteer army?”

“Who’s causing a commotion? Besides your group of alpha friends, who would care about my affairs?”

“They only care about me!”

“They care about you, so they’ve been thinking about separating us?”

Qin Zexi was irritated by Rong Qin’s mention of their chat with his friends. “How did you know… Ah Qin, are you spying on me?”

Rong Qin smiled bitterly. “I don’t have time to manage your affairs. Not only do I know, but I’ve known for a long time. As early as when we got married, your friends threatened me, telling me not to overestimate myself.”

“They said that? Even if they did, it just proves that they were biased against betas at the time…”

Seeing Qin Zexi still defending those arrogant alphas, Rong Qin felt like his heart turned to ashes.

“I can’t reason with you anymore. Go back. I don’t want to see you now.”

Feeling blatantly brushed off and disliked, Qin Zexi refused to leave. Finally gathering his courage, he swallowed his pride and went to find Rong Qin. He wouldn’t leave without bringing him back.

But in Rong Qin’s eyes, Qin Zexi stubbornly standing there was like a naughty child denied candy, unwilling to examine his own faults and instead blaming others.

Rong Qin had run out of patience to tolerate him.

“I’m busy right now, you should go back.”

“Ah Qin, are you avoiding me because you’re tired of me and want to play alone?”

With a sharp sound, Qin Zexi received a slap in the face.

Rong Qin’s palm stung, but it was nothing compared to the pain in his heart. At this moment, he was actually amused by this alpha’s nonsense. “Is that how you see me in your heart?”

Qin Zexi regretted his words, but his pride wouldn’t allow him to apologize to Rong Qin. He even refused to admit his mistake, further intensifying the conflict between them. It wasn’t until he endured this slap that he realized Rong Qin’s appearance was not what he had imagined.

How could his Ah Qin hit him!

Qin Zexi raised his hand as if he was about to hit back. But Rong Qin sneered, quietly watching him with his deep blue eyes, and no one knew the pain in his heart at this moment.

In the end, Qin Zexi didn’t strike back.

He just licked the blood from the corner of his mouth, then left angrily without a word, his footsteps echoing as he walked away.

After Qin Zexi left, Rong Qin sat tiredly on the sofa. Why had he and Qin Zexi reached this point? Why were both of them hurt? Ultimately, it was because he had overestimated himself. He couldn’t bear the piercing insults from alphas, and he had overestimated Qin Zexi’s empathy.

A marriage between an alpha and a beta would never last.

Rong Qin rested his wrist on his eye, covering the obvious tear stains at the corners of his eyes.

Five minutes later, he finally noticed his silenced phone.

When he called back, Qin Muye didn’t answer.

Rong Qin called again, but still no answer.

On the third call, Rong Qin finally got through but Qin Muye’s attitude was very cold, and his responses were overly concise.

Rong Qin hung up the phone feeling inexplicable.

Both of them are sick, yes, both of them are sick.

Rong Qin didn’t know the reason why Qin Muye responded to his call like this was because he had been discovered by Rong Qiu.

Moreover, when Rong Qiu left his house, he vaguely sensed someone following him. He thought this feeling of being watched would disappear when he reached the restricted area, but unexpectedly, it didn’t.

When he returned the mech, he finally saw Qin Muye standing far away.

Standing next to Qin Muye was the person in charge of the restricted area. He had talked to this person before, so he remembered him. Realizing that Qin Muye had been following him all along, Rong Qiu was not surprised, nor was he angry. He was just very puzzled and numb.

An S-class alpha like Qin Muye didn’t need to put all his thoughts on him.

He wasn’t worth it.

So he called Qin Muye over.

The moist sea breeze brought the cries of seagulls and the roar of the waves. The water droplets on the evergreen banana trees had already dried up, and the air carried the unique salty smell of the ocean planet.

Rong Qiu had become accustomed to it. His eyes had dark circles under them, and his beautiful blue pupils were unfocused, making him look like a walking corpse.

And every step Qin Muye took was hesitant.

He never expected to be discovered by Rong Qiu, let alone that after being discovered, Rong Qiu didn’t get angry or resentful. He was just calm and indifferent, even now without any vitality.

He stopped in front of Rong Qiu, maintaining a safe distance of one meter under Rong Qiu’s slight frown.

“Qiu Qiu…”

“Ah Ye.”

Rong Qiu didn’t call him Commander Qin or Mr. Qin, just “Ah Ye,” but it made Qin Muye’s heart ache like a knife twisting.

Qin Muye waited quietly.

But what he waited for was a belated torture.

Because the person in front of him said:

“Ah Ye, don’t bother me anymore. You’re an S-class alpha, the youngest son of the Qin family, destined to marry an S-class omega. How could you take an unknown beta like me seriously… Even the thought of me being your bed companion is undeserving.”

Chapter 56

<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>

Rong Qiu didn't notice Qin Muye's strangeness.

To the point that Rong Qiu's attempts at seduction left him absent-minded.

When Rong Qiu's fingertips brushed his nose, he thought of how Rong Qiu had been alone and helpless in the Fourth Military District. When Rong Qiu's fingertips paused at the corner of his mouth, he thought of Rong Qiu's sadness when he was wrongly sent back to school by the Fourth Military District. Finally, as Rong Qiu's hand slowly moved downward, Qin Muye was struck as if by lightning, his mind filled with scenes of him throwing away the phone and pen.

The S-class alpha's body trembled all over, his teeth tightly clenched. Rong Qiu could even hear a faint "crackling" sound.

Rong Qiu looked up, and at the same time, the hand that was moving downward also stopped.

The alpha was grinding his teeth.

Rong Qiu stood up, turning the bedside lamp brighter.

Frowning, he said, "If you're not willing, forget it."

He thought Qin Muye still couldn't overcome the psychological barrier, so Rong Qiu responded understandingly, "Let's cancel our contract. Commander Qin can find a bed partner who suits you better."

Qin Muye came to his senses.

Through the dim light of the bedside lamp, he engraved Rong Qiu's impatient and handsome face into his eyes.

A voice amplified infinitely in his heart.

This is the Rong Qiu who forgot that memory, what are you waiting for?

The S-class alpha's Adam's apple rolled lightly, reflecting a yellowish halo under the light. Rong Qiu thought Qin Muye's Adam's apple looked beautiful, both large and delicate – these two characteristics were not contradictory.

He was still waiting for Qin Muye's response, and Qin Muye didn't keep him waiting long.

The alpha slowly sat up, his gaze staying on Rong Qiu, unsure if it was three seconds or five seconds. Then, the man grabbed the beta's slender arm, pulled forcefully, and embraced him. It was a warm and sturdy hug, filled with the fragrance of sandalwood. Rong Qiu felt his scalp tingle from the sudden movement, and he could even sense the man's deep breath starting to resonate from his chest.

"Don't move, let me relax for a bit."

Rong Qiu thought that when Qin Muye said "relax," he was psychologically preparing for the act below. It didn't seem like Qin Muye's "relax" was about letting go of the past memories and facing the current Rong Qiu with a calm and rational attitude.

This hug lasted for who knew how long, and Rong Qiu's neck was numb.

His chin rested on the alpha's shoulder, and the alpha's shoulder was wide. He remembered that his chin was quite sharp, and normally, resting it on his arm was uncomfortable. Wasn't Qin Muye uncomfortable?

Finally—

"I'm okay now."

"My neck is sore."

Both spoke at the same time, and after speaking, both were surprised. Qin Muye let go of his hand, and Rong Qiu emerged from the alpha's embrace. He rubbed his neck with one hand, but he dared not look directly at Qin Muye.

Indeed, lust clouded judgment.

He actually felt that, in close proximity, Qin Muye's beauty was even more significant. But soon, Rong Qiu corrected his attitude, preparing for the second attempt at negotiation.

However, when he smelled the familiar scent of sandalwood, a sudden question popped into his mind.

"Why didn't I smell your perfume before, but suddenly I can smell it now?"

The scent of sandalwood was pleasant, but being so close was like having concentrated fragrance directly on his nose, making him somewhat disoriented. Qin Muye didn't seem to have this perfume smell when he entered, as if it slowly diffused when Rong Qiu was undressing him.

Realizing that his pheromones were starting to leak, and fearing that Rong Qiu wouldn't believe him, he simply took Rong Qiu's hand and placed it on the back of his neck.

"It's not a perfume scent; it's the smell of my pheromones."

"Oh, it turns out to be the scent of pheromones..."

Rong Qiu absentmindedly followed him, muttering behind him, his palm pressed against the man's clearly defined neck bones. He looked up, finally emerging from his daze: "Can I, as a beta, also smell the pheromones of an alpha?"

"Yes, but betas who can smell pheromones are rare."

He had previously exposed himself because he smelled the alpha pheromones on Rong Qiu, but at that time, he had lied to Rong Qiu, only saying that betas also have a unique way of smelling the scent of alphas.

Thinking about how many times he had deceived Rong Qiu, Qin Muye's heart ached.

He hoped Rong Qiu would never remember.

But as soon as he finished speaking, Rong Qiu brought up his beta lover: "Ah Ye once told me that there are methods in the Federation to allow betas to smell alpha pheromones, and even alpha pheromones can have an effect on beta individuals, although not as strong as on alpha individuals or omega individuals."

Knowing that he belonged to the few betas who could smell alpha pheromones, Rong Qiu didn't think he was anything special.

But what he was grateful for was being able to smell Qin Muye's pleasant pheromones.

And they were so similar to his beta lover's perfume.

Smelling this strong wood pheromone, Rong Qiu lowered his head and sniffed earnestly: "I was going to ask you the name of the perfume you and Ah Ye use, but your scent is the scent of pheromones, and I can't replicate the same scent."

Before Qin Muye could speak, he quietly added, "But it's too much of a coincidence that you and my beta lover look alike and smell so good. I really don't know what else is different between you except for your backgrounds and second genders."

Qin Muye dared not bring up this topic with Rong Qiu now. Zhao Dongqi's meaning was to avoid stimulating Rong Qiu after hypnosis as much as possible, preferably not exposing Rong Qiu to the hotbed of old memories.

However, Qin Muye didn't know how to avoid it. All he could do was try to keep Rong Qiu away from all memories related to the past as much as possible.

Whether they were true memories or reshaped memories, it was best not to return to Rong Qiu's mind.

So Qin Muye didn't want to bring up this topic with Rong Qiu.

He took the opportunity to extinguish one of the desk lamps. The whole room suddenly became dimmer, with only the lamp on Rong Qiu's side still shining brightly, reflecting Rong Qiu's side face, which was as clear and beautiful as jade, exceptionally good-looking.

Seeing Qin Muye not speaking, Rong Qiu thought he didn't want to discuss the issue and cleverly stopped talking.

After all, the glands and pheromones of an alpha were very secretive information. It was normal for Qin Muye not to want to talk much about it.

Rong Qiu was understanding.

After turning off the light, he moved closer to Qin Muye's side. Although the bed was two meters wide and seemed empty when he slept alone, it suddenly became crowded with Qin Muye on the left. With a few random movements, he either bumped into Qin Muye's arms or kicked his legs. Fortunately, Qin Muye didn't mind and sensibly moved aside, giving him more space to move around.

From Rong Qiu's perspective, he could see Qin Muye's handsome profile, which, under the illumination of the lamp on his side, exuded a mature and stern aura.

He moved closer again until they were only a fist's distance apart.

Qin Muye's breath had already stopped. Rong Qiu's clear face suddenly appeared in front of him, almost causing the alpha to forget how to breathe.

He remembered Rong Qiu had said they would only do it but not kiss, so he didn't expect Rong Qiu to kiss him.

They had enough time to take it slow.

But Qin Muye's eyes darkened slightly.

Because this time there would be no phone call to interrupt Rong Qiu, so after five years of being with him, their roles would eventually reverse.

However, there was still a slight hope in the alpha's heart. If Rong Qiu found that being on top wasn't as good as he thought, would he be willing to switch back?

They still maintained an arm's length distance, and Rong Qiu seemed to freeze in place.

Motionless.

Qin Muye waited for Rong Qiu's next move for a long time but couldn't help furrowing his brows, showing a hint of confusion.

"What's wrong?"

"What's this here?!"

Although just an ordinary question, Rong Qiu's voice was unexpectedly sharp. The alpha felt his earlobe; this was the spot Rong Qiu was referring to.

Qin Muye didn't feel anything unusual; it was just his ear.

But Rong Qiu ruthlessly pinched and kneaded his earlobe with his fingertips, the force so strong that it caused him a stinging sensation. He could feel Rong Qiu's nails almost digging in.

The alpha let out a sharp breath.

But Rong Qiu remained unmoved.

Because facing away from the bedside lamp, the alpha couldn't see Rong Qiu's expression clearly, only that Rong Qiu's face was now blurry in the darkness, while his entire beta body was trembling violently.

Finally, Qin Muye realized something was wrong.

Rong Qiu had seemed normal just now when they were talking about pheromones, but now he was trembling as if in extreme fear and panic, completely losing control.

Indeed, that was the case.

When Rong Qiu saw the familiar red mole on the alpha's earlobe, all his composure was shattered. It was a red mole, although small, it was rare in that it had a solid triangular shape.

Could such a coincidence exist in the world?

Coinciding with the same appearance and voice, the owner also had an identical red mole in the same position.

If before Rong Qiu could console himself that Qin Muye's appearance was just a coincidence, now this coincidence was too extreme.

So extreme that Rong Qiu couldn't even convince himself.

Not only was the red mole similar, but there was also that inexplicably familiar scent of wood. A flash of white light passed before Rong Qiu's eyes, and he felt as if he were in a huge dark cage, unable to see the light, surrounded by concealment and lies.

He tried hard to steady his emotions but couldn't do it.

His head began to ache severely.

In Qin Muye's eyes, Rong Qiu now seemed to have lost his spirit and soul, trembling all over. No matter what he said or did, Rong Qiu didn't respond.

Rong Qiu didn't speak, didn't make any movements. This state of his was like the calm before the storm. Qin Muye felt a strong sense of impending doom, which intensified with each passing moment of Rong Qiu's silence.

Finally, this restless and uneasy feeling reached its peak the moment Rong Qiu softly called out to him, "Ah Ye".

Qin Muye widened his eyes, as if unable to believe what he had heard: "Qiuqiu, what did you just call me!?"

He would rather Rong Qiu remain unfamiliar with him, still calling him Commander Qin or directly by his name, rather than Rong Qiu calling him "Ah Ye" again, like he did five years ago...

Who is "Ah Ye"?

"Ah Ye" is the moonlight in Rong Qiu's heart, the beta lover who has been dead in Rong Qiu's memory for five years. It couldn't be him.

But now, Rong Qiu had just called him "Ah Ye".

***

Rong Qiu drove Qin Muye out.

When Rong Qiu showed displeasure and reluctance, Qin Muye's heart shattered into countless pieces. He tremblingly put on his clothes, but saw Rong Qiu hugging his knees, completely in a self-protective stance.

As he approached, Rong Qiu retreated a few centimeters until his back pressed against the hard bed board, then frowned, unable to retreat any further.

The expression on Rong Qiu's face was very obvious.

His jaw clenched tightly, his eyes warning him silently with their oval shape.

Don't come closer!

Qin Muye's gaze shrank, his steps awkwardly froze in mid-air, each second infinitely prolonged.

Rong Qiu's rejection was clear to him.

He couldn't bear to see it again, nor did he dare to.

His presence would only remind Rong Qiu of that absurd year.

Qin Muye bitterly smiled. Now he was sitting in the car, parked outside Rong Qiu's villa. Even though the person he longed for was inside, Qin Muye's heart felt like it was being pricked with needles.

Even though Rong Qiu had only called him "Ah Ye" once, he sensitively understood all of Rong Qiu's changes.

Rong Qiu had regained his memory.

Regained his memory for no apparent reason.

The alpha painfully recalled every detail of tonight, from entering Rong Qiu's house to being driven out. He couldn't find any factors that could have upset Rong Qiu.

Qin Muye turned on the car's interior light, inspecting his earlobe in the rearview mirror. The crescent-shaped pinch mark was very clear, but even clearer was a small red mole in the center of the mark.

Qin Muye's gaze froze.

His ear actually had such a red mole!

***

This red mole was the last straw for Rong Qiu.

As early as before Rong Qiu's birthday yesterday, he had shown signs of something unusual.

The day after he sobered up, he also underwent a recheck but didn't pay much attention to it.

Qin Muye's appearance completely broke through his psychological defense line, bringing out the things he least wanted to remember.

And when he saw the red mole on Qin Muye's earlobe, everything became clear, as if an electric current had pierced his meridian, his thoughts clear and full of grief.

He remembered everything, everything came flooding back.

This S-class alpha's most fundamental identity was the alpha who had deceived him, toyed with him, and eventually coldly dealt with him five years ago.

Realizing this, Rong Qiu's mind suddenly exploded, a feeling of being cut by a thousand knives slowly enveloping him.

He didn't want to see Qin Muye.

This alpha only brought him endless deception and pain.

After Qin Muye left, Rong Qiu vigorously slapped his own head. He had undergone hypnosis, erased his memories, so why had his memories returned again?

Most importantly, why had he encountered Qin Muye here again?

Shouldn't an S-class alpha like Qin Muye stay in the First Military District and rise to the top? Originally, he wanted to avoid Qin Muye, which was why he insisted on coming to the Thirteenth Military District after erasing his memories. But now everything coincidentally resembles a melodramatic idol drama.

Rong Qiu had no idea what to do now. Clearly, five years ago, he had planned out a very good path for himself. He didn't expect to stray from that path five years later.

Real and false memories intertwined, presenting a highly contrasting S-class alpha in Rong Qiu's heart.

Five years ago in the bar, the alpha himself had said that he was just a beta in the eyes of the alpha, and the alpha was just playing with him... Since it was all over five years ago, completely over, why would this S-class alpha still come back to him after five years? Why pretend to be so affectionate?

Pretending to be the one below, even before becoming his bed partner, he had bowed his head, hoping he would become the alpha's husband.

To deceive him, was it worth such a big price?

But now, he would not be deceived by this S-class alpha anymore. Once bitten by a snake, one is afraid of ropes for ten years. The memories from five years ago were too painful, so painful that he wished he could go back in time and wake himself up.

***

This night, Qin Muye's car remained parked in front of Rong Qiu's villa.

From the moment he came out, he quietly watched the room on the second floor where Rong Qiu was.

At midnight, Rong Qiu's light remained on; at one o'clock, Rong Qiu's light was still on, and it stayed on until six in the morning. Qin Muye watched for as long as Rong Qiu's light was on.

After six o'clock, dawn broke in the east. A fiery red sun gradually rose from the east, but Qin Muye's heart felt like it had plunged into an eternal cold night despite the sunlight.

The sun gradually rose, but the sunlight without warmth shone on the frost outside.

Clearly, it was sunlight, but it couldn't warm the frost on the ground.

Qin Muye felt like he was immersed in that frost. He had maintained the same posture in the car all night, watching the light on Rong Qiu's terrace and then in the living room. He suddenly tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

At seven thirty in the morning, Rong Qiu got up to make breakfast.

He didn't dare let Rong Qiu discover he was still here, so he parked the car in a temporary parking spot around the corner and watched the direction of Rong Qiu's villa from afar.

He didn't notice Qin Muye's car and, with an expressionless face, got into his car. He left Qin Muye's sight at a steady and safe speed.

Qin Muye followed all the way.

Rong Qiu's car eventually drove into the restricted area of the Thirteenth Military District.

Qin Muye also passed the iris scan. Even the person in charge here eagerly came to meet Qin Muye, who accepted his kindness. He wasn't here for official inspections; he just wanted to see what Rong Qiu was doing.

Rong Qiu was well-known in this restricted area.

Because all the test flights of the mechs he had successfully designed and developed were completed here, and all of them were personally piloted by Rong Qiu. So this restricted area had watched Rong Qiu's mechs gradually take shape, and even later, it provided a free placement for Rong Qiu's private mech.

It was both proactive assistance and a certain degree of control.

Rong Qiu's private mech was far more flexible and powerful than the military mechs he had designed. If it weren't for the lack of suitable large-scale thermal weapons, Rong Qiu's private mech would definitely be the top mech.

Listening to the person in charge's praise, Qin Muye's eyes never left the surveillance of the restricted area.

In the surveillance, Rong Qiu piloted his mech.

Rong Qiu sat in the cockpit of the mech, and Qin Muye couldn't see Rong Qiu's expression. All he could see was Rong Qiu's emotionless identity check before boarding the mech, and then the mech cabin's cold and silent atmosphere.

Then the mech exited the hangar.

The sleek black mecha smoothly passed through the mecha passage, gliding to the exit before pausing briefly. Qin Muye watched as Rong Qiu's mecha plummeted downward, resembling a heavy object sinking to the bottom of the sea.

Qin Muye was suddenly startled, his body leaning forward slightly.

Because the way the mecha fell was all too familiar to him, reminiscent of the scene five years ago when Rong Qiu's mecha plunged into the depths of the sea.

However, the person next to him remained calm, seemingly accustomed to such scenes. Seeing Qin Muye's surprised expression, the responsible person smiled officially.

"Rong Qiu is very talented, whether it's designing machines or operating them, he's top-notch."

As soon as the words fell, the two saw Rong Qiu's mecha, which was about to plunge into the sea, suddenly glide out in an extremely smooth arc, soaring into the sky. The driving style behind him was also as unpredictable, one moment soaring high in the sky, the next plummeting straight into the sea.

Qin Muye's heart felt like a roller coaster as he watched.

"Does he always pilot like this?" Qin Muye asked calmly.

He knew Rong Qiu might be aware of it, but he still couldn't help but feel worried.

The person in charge nodded. "At first, we were afraid too. When he first arrived, even piloting the junk mechs in the military district, he was so brave. When we asked him why he piloted like that, he only said that he had experienced similar accidents before and wanted to avoid them. Later, no accidents happened in our district, so we let him be."

Hearing that Rong Qiu piloted like this because of a past accident, Qin Muye's heart sank.

Even though Rong Qiu had his memories erased, he still remembered that accident. Some wounds just lingered, and no matter what others said, they couldn't be easily forgotten. Watching Rong Qiu's mech circle around and around, his heart and body endured torture time and time again.

As his heart ached, he remembered something and called Rong Qin.

He had to inform Rong Qin about Rong Qiu's memory recovery. It would be best if Rong Qin could stay by Rong Qiu's side. He was really worried about Rong Qiu's current state. After getting out of the mech, Rong Qiu didn't show any relaxation or joy; his face remained cold and gloomy.

But the call he made wasn't answered.

"Why aren't you coming to work at the company?"

"Have you forgotten? I took three months off before, and you agreed," Rong Qin replied wearily.

"That's because we weren't arguing like this back then. I thought you were just tired, so I let you take the leave. But now, are you tired enough to take leave?"

Qin Zexi was displeased with Rong Qin's negligence for a long time.

The two of them argued again.

As the argument escalated, Qin Zexi's voice grew louder and his emotions became more intense, attracting many of Rong Qin's colleagues and subordinates.

"You can argue at home, but don't lose face outside."

"You think I'm losing face!?" Qin Zexi's face flushed with anger. "Who's losing face? Who caused such a big commotion with the volunteer army?"

"Who's causing a commotion? Besides your group of alpha friends, who would care about my affairs?"

"They only care about me!"

"They care about you, so they've been thinking about separating us?"

Qin Zexi was irritated by Rong Qin's mention of their chat with his friends. "How did you know... Ah Qin, are you spying on me?"

Rong Qin smiled bitterly. "I don't have time to manage your affairs. Not only do I know, but I've known for a long time. As early as when we got married, your friends threatened me, telling me not to overestimate myself."

"They said that? Even if they did, it just proves that they were biased against betas at the time..."

Seeing Qin Zexi still defending those arrogant alphas, Rong Qin felt like his heart turned to ashes.

"I can't reason with you anymore. Go back. I don't want to see you now."

Feeling blatantly brushed off and disliked, Qin Zexi refused to leave. Finally gathering his courage, he swallowed his pride and went to find Rong Qin. He wouldn't leave without bringing him back.

But in Rong Qin's eyes, Qin Zexi stubbornly standing there was like a naughty child denied candy, unwilling to examine his own faults and instead blaming others.

Rong Qin had run out of patience to tolerate him.

"I'm busy right now, you should go back."

"Ah Qin, are you avoiding me because you're tired of me and want to play alone?"

With a sharp sound, Qin Zexi received a slap in the face.

Rong Qin's palm stung, but it was nothing compared to the pain in his heart. At this moment, he was actually amused by this alpha's nonsense. "Is that how you see me in your heart?"

Qin Zexi regretted his words, but his pride wouldn't allow him to apologize to Rong Qin. He even refused to admit his mistake, further intensifying the conflict between them. It wasn't until he endured this slap that he realized Rong Qin's appearance was not what he had imagined.

How could his Ah Qin hit him!

Qin Zexi raised his hand as if he was about to hit back. But Rong Qin sneered, quietly watching him with his deep blue eyes, and no one knew the pain in his heart at this moment.

In the end, Qin Zexi didn't strike back.

He couldn't bear the piercing insults from alphas, and he had overestimated Qin Zexi's empathy.

A marriage between an alpha and a beta would never last.

Rong Qin rested his wrist on his eye, covering the obvious tear stains at the corners of his eyes.

Five minutes later, he finally noticed his silenced phone.

When he called back, Qin Muye didn't answer.

Rong Qin called again, but still no answer.

On the third call, Rong Qin finally got through but Qin Muye's attitude was very cold, and his responses were overly concise.

Rong Qin hung up the phone feeling inexplicable.

Both of them are sick, yes, both of them are sick.

Rong Qin didn't know the reason why Qin Muye responded to his call like this was because he had been discovered by Rong Qiu.

Moreover, when Rong Qiu left his house, he vaguely sensed someone following him. He thought this feeling of being watched would disappear when he reached the restricted area, but unexpectedly, it didn't.

An S-class alpha like Qin Muye didn't need to put all his thoughts on him.

He wasn't worth it.

He never expected to be discovered by Rong Qiu, let alone that after being discovered, Rong Qiu didn't get angry or resentful. He was just calm and indifferent, even now without any vitality.

He stopped in front of Rong Qiu, maintaining a safe distance of one meter under Rong Qiu's slight frown.

"Qiu Qiu..."

"Ah Ye."

Rong Qiu didn't call him Commander Qin or Mr. Qin, just "Ah Ye," but it made Qin Muye's heart ache like a knife twisting.

Qin Muye waited quietly.

But what he waited for was a belated torture.

Because the person in front of him said:

"Ah Ye, don't bother me anymore. You're an S-class alpha, the youngest son of the Qin family, destined to marry an S-class omega. How could you take an unknown beta like me seriously... Even the thought of me being your bed companion is undeserving."
