Chapter 32: Encounter

Dong Du stormed out of the tower, his face red. He contacted Li Sheng through the smart ring, but before waiting for a response to the voice communication request, he hung up.

He had wanted to talk to Li Sheng, but Li Sheng was busy preparing for the wedding. Finding him now would only cause trouble.

Walking into the research institute, he passed through the special zone to Hanchester’s ward. “Why haven’t you woken up yet?”

There was no sound around, and his words floated lightly in the air. He thought about saying that he hadn’t exercised these past few days, but then remembered he had said that last time. He sighed, “You alphas can be really annoying sometimes.”

No one answered his words, but the person quietly following him was about to scratch a hole in the wall.

What did he mean by alphas can be annoying? Omegas are annoying. No, the little prince is annoying, finding someone to blame and scheming everywhere, the most annoying person!

Meng Ruan’s breath quickened. When he looked up at Dong Du again, he felt like Dong Du had glanced at him, but how could the little prince notice him? Besides, even if he did notice, what could he do?

Dong Du had noticed Meng Ruan from the beginning, suspecting him as a spy sent by Xia En. Later, he found out that this person might be a spy, but at the same time, he was also a fool.

Dealing with fools will only turn you into a fool, so Dong Du chose to ignore him.

He redirected his gaze to the ward, and as he opened the door, Gneville, holding a few bottles of liquid, stopped him. “Little prince also came to see the chief officer today.”

The voice was familiar, and Meng Ruan cautiously peeked out. He saw two people who couldn’t possibly get along having a seemingly amicable conversation, and the atmosphere was even harmonious.

Didn’t the little prince ruin Gneville’s glands? Why was she still talking to the little prince with a smile? Enduring humiliation?

Meng Ruan and Gneville were not strangers. They both came from the Clos family, grew up in the same circle, and often exchanged a few words.

But as he grew older, the one who understood him the most was Xia En. Unfortunately, the emperor refused to set Xia En free; otherwise, Xia En would definitely be with him.

Meng Ruan sighed and reported what he had seen to Xia En through the smart ring.

He must keep a close eye on the little prince, or else, given the chance, he would definitely harm Xia En again.

When Xia En received Meng Ruan’s message, he was alone in his room. He lived next to Xi Yuan, and Xi Yuan had not returned since the meeting.

After reading Meng Ruan’s message, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. He clenched his fist tightly under him, grabbing the armrest of the chair.

He had originally wanted Meng Ruan to keep an eye on Dong Du to know his movements and give him the ending he deserved. But at this rate, Meng Ruan might unintentionally discover the truth, and that would definitely be unfavorable to him.

He took a deep breath, bit his lip hard, and placed his left ankle between the chair and the wall. With a twist, a crisp sound echoed, and he couldn’t help but cry out in pain.

The pain eased slightly, and Xia En hopped to the edge of the bed, sitting on the floor. Only then did he send a voice communication request to Xi Yuan.

The communication was quickly answered, and Xia En sounded pitiful, with a heavy sob in his voice. “Xi Yuan, I hurt my ankle, it hurts so much.”

Invited to drink tea in Brovill’s room, Xi Yuan responded from the other side. The tea was personally brewed by the young bishop.

They hadn’t started talking yet, but as soon as Xi Yuan received the voice communication, he immediately excused himself and left.

Brovill did not stop him and said gently, “Your Majesty, there’s no need to worry. May the Lord bless the person you care about.”

Xi Yuan left, and Fina came out from behind. “My lord bishop, is this okay?”

“Fina, this is already an affair of the Clos Empire.” Brovill sipped his tea, his mouth curved with a smile he had practiced countless times since childhood, even guided by a special teacher. He continued, “But the Lord will never bless Xia En. The Lord does not bless anyone; blessings are earned through one’s own efforts. Xia En has obviously earned quite a few.”

Fina bowed and did not speak further, starting to neatly pack up the tea set.

On the other side, Dong Du had already left the research institute. He returned to the tower, changed into a different outfit in his room, and carried a large bag to the gym.

Where there are many Alphas, the gym is never empty. As soon as Dong Du entered, many people greeted him, and some even discussed offensive moves with him.

Meng Ruan, standing far away, couldn’t hear clearly, but he could tell that these Alphas really liked Dong Du.

Dong Du’s mood wasn’t good today, with a cold expression on his face. However, when someone approached him to talk, he answered all of them properly. He discussed moves with one of the Alphas for quite a while, and as they spoke, they felt the moves could be practiced. So, they agreed to go to the training room.

The surrounding Alphas had long been listening attentively to their conversation. As soon as they mentioned going to the training room, they all got excited, clamoring to go.

“Let’s go now then.” Dong Du put away his workout equipment, effortlessly slung it over his shoulder, and walked.

The Alphas from the gym all cheered and followed. Meng Ruan was squeezed and pushed, feeling angry. Did they know what kind of person he is? Why do they worship him like this?

However, no one could hear his inner thoughts, and for Xia En’s sake, he had to reluctantly follow.

A group of people quickly entered the training room. Dong Du put down his bag and started sparring with the Alpha he had discussed moves with. Their movements were slow at first as they began practicing the discussed moves one by one.

With this speed and explanation, the surrounding Alphas quickly understood their moves and began quietly discussing.

After finishing a set of moves, the two started sparring for real.

Meng Ruan, who had been bored in the corner, was startled by the sudden burst of cheers.

“Little Prince is mighty!”

“Little Prince, beat him!”

Meng Ruan, speechless, pushed through the crowd to take a look. Dong Du was sparring with a strong and powerful Alpha, almost double his size. However, Dong Du was completely dominating the fight, matching the strength and speed of a high-level Alpha.

Dong Du’s gaze swept over Meng Ruan. He opened his mouth but didn’t say anything. His mind was shouting that the little prince Xia En mentioned was not like this. He should be affected, extravagant, useless, and malicious.

He pushed through the crowd, swiftly exiting the training room.

Dong Du relaxed his posture, hummed lightly, regretting that he should have used this move earlier. Look, that Alpha was scared away!

“Little Prince, a few more moves!” Seeing him relax his stance, an Alpha said, “I missed my turn last time, and now I can’t get a turn again?”

“I remember you. You’ll be the first next time.” Dong Du slung the bag over his shoulder. “I have some things to do today, so I won’t play.”

Alpha: “…”

Not playing meant beating them like it’s a game.

Zhu Di silently held onto the railing, watching the person surrounded in the center of the crowd. The person behind him, who came uninvited, let out a light laugh, “He’s like a sun, isn’t he?”

“He is the infamous little prince,” Zhu Di replied without turning his head. “Why is Your Excellency wandering around here?”

“Of course, I came to see my little peach.” Novisane bit his lollipop, gently tapping the candy handle with his fingers.

Zhu Di glanced at him, “This is the little prince of Clos.”

“Unfortunately, Clos’s Emperor doesn’t care about his own brother. Do you think he might sell this brother to me for the sake of interests?” Novisane’s gaze gently enveloped Dong Du’s figure. “Yars will provide him with the best.”

Seeming tired of this conversation, Zhu Di turned and left, indifferently saying, “The little prince is not a commodity. Your Excellency, don’t attempt to buy and sell.”

Novisane shrugged, “As long as it achieves the goal, I don’t mind attempting anything.”

There was no reply from behind; Zhu Di had already walked away.

Dong Du entered the elevator alone. The elevator reached the second floor, beeped, and the door opened. The person at the door, holding a lollipop, waved and said, “Hi, long time no see.”

Even though they had just met, Dong Du pressed the close button with a stern face. However, by the time the door closed, Novisane had already entered.

He unwrapped a candy and put it near Dong Du’s mouth, “Orange-flavored.”

Dong Du ignored him, but he kept holding the candy in place, teasing like coaxing a child, “If you don’t eat, I’ll eat it myself.”

The candy danced around his lips, the hard candy lightly brushing over them, letting Dong Du taste a hint of orange flavor.

Irritated, Dong Du forcefully sucked the candy into his mouth. Novisane smiled; he was too tall, raising the candy higher, and even with Dong Du on tiptoes, he couldn’t retain the candy. With a pop, Novisane pulled it out of his mouth.

“Dare to eat mine, and I’ll kill you!” Dong Du threatened fiercely.

Novisane raised an eyebrow, “Who said I’d eat something you’ve eaten.”

To be honest, Dong Du thought this lunatic might actually eat it, but since the person insisted they wouldn’t, he couldn’t just say, “I thought you would eat it!”

Awkward, very awkward.

Dong Du remained silent. The elevator stopped on the twenty-third floor, and Novisane, holding Dong Du’s chin, quickly opened his mouth and shoved the candy in. Then he exited the elevator, saying, “Goodbye, little peach.”

“Get lost,” Dong Du muttered quietly. He didn’t know if Novisane heard, but the orange-flavored lollipop was surprisingly delicious.

On the top floor of the tower, Zhu Di absentmindedly tapped the tabletop with his fingers. His temporary chief officer stood behind him. The officer had just reported that the culprit who destroyed Gneville’s glands had died in prison, and only two people had visited the prison today.

One was the little prince Dong Du, who was blocked at the entrance. His whereabouts were fully traceable afterward. The other was Xia En, who had a personal order from Xi Yuan. Xia En had not come into contact with the prisoner, but he left after a stroll, and the prisoner died three hours after Xia En left.
