Chapter 54 Black Hole

Xu Yiling briefly explained the principle of the black boxes, and Novisane praised, “Doctor, if you’re willing, you can go to Yars to relax after the war.”
Xu Yiling smiled, “I will consider it, Prime Minister, but for now, could you please mobilize two automatically piloted flying ships from Yars?”
Novisane agreed, and he went to the control room to contact the capital star of Yars. Soon, a ship would be dispatched to them. Flying ships couldn’t fly long distances, so they couldn’t reach Yars and catch up with the fleet of Black Gold Fortress.

Meanwhile, inside the ships of Black Gold Fortress, Zhu Di asked, “How many ships have been inspected?”
“It’s already the eighth one, General,” the alpha soldier stood straight, with an evident expression of concern on his face. “We have a total of twelve ships. Currently, no ship has reported finding the Young Prince. General, with such a detailed search, I’m afraid…”
“Shut up,” Zhu Di’s mouth pursed into a straight line. This was the first time he had erupted like this. His eyes were bloodshot, and after a moment of silence, he suppressed his emotions. “Continue the search.”
The alpha soldier didn’t say much more, saluted, and exited the compartment. However, not half a minute after he left, another soldier rushed in hastily. “General, it’s the Young Prince. The Young Prince has sent a communication. His Majesty has gone to the control room!”
Upon hearing this, Zhu Di almost ran to the control room. He didn’t care much, directly squeezing next to Xi Yuan. “Your Highness.”
“Ah, General,” Dong Du was dirty all over, with only his eyes clearly visible amidst the blackness. He seemed quite energetic.
Zhu Di’s suspended heart finally landed. He took a few steps back, giving a salute to Xi Yuan. “Your Majesty.”
Xi Yuan raised an eyebrow, suddenly mentioning past events, “Dong Du, do you remember when Zhu Di used to live together with us in the capital star?”
“What happened?” Dong Du’s voice on the other side sounded puzzled.
“At that time, you were quite willful,” Xi Yuan showed a knowing expression. “Despite being an omega, you always relied on your status. During pretend play, you forced Zhu Di to marry you, saying many inexplicable things, like dreaming of a world with only male and female distinctions at night. You even said you wanted Zhu Di to earn a lot of money for you, and you were going to spend a lot.”
Dong Du looked confused. How old was the little prince during that black history? Why did he feel these things were so familiar?
“Your Majesty,” Zhu Di walked to Xi Yuan’s side, interrupting his words. “Let’s ask where the Young Prince is. We should go pick him up.”
“He won’t be back yet.” Suddenly, someone came from behind Dong Du; it was Novisane, whom Zhu Di never liked.
Zhu Di didn’t speak, and Dong Du pushed Novisane away, explaining, “Doctor Xu Yiling has developed something, and I don’t quite understand it. In any case, this thing might be able to solve the problem with the insect race. Once I finish this, I will come back.”
“Black box?” Zhu Di frowned. “This thing hasn’t undergone simulation experiments yet. No one knows how powerful it is. Your Highness, using this thing recklessly is too dangerous.”
“I know,” Dong Du sighed lightly. He had had enough of the days of anxiety during the apocalypse and finally changed to a new world. He really didn’t want to continue that kind of life. “General, everything involves risks. The land area of Black Gold Fortress is many times larger than that of the Wandering City. The insect race could proliferate massively in the Wandering City, not to mention in Black Gold Fortress. Moreover, they evolve too easily, and we can’t afford to consume ourselves in this.”
“Dong Du.” Zhu Di didn’t speak; the person on the communication changed to Xi Yuan. He called out but remained silent for a long time. After a while, he continued, “You’ve been in Black Gold Fortress for quite some time now, but I actually forgot to announce your changes and Xia En’s crimes to the whole country.”
“Brother, let’s talk about these things later,” Dong Du’s fingers tapped on the control panel. “Wait until I eliminate the insect race, and then you can publicize my achievements. I want to be a respected and wealthy little prince.”
“I promise you,” Xi Yuan chuckled.
The communication was cut off. Dong Du turned around and locked eyes with Novisane. Novisane gently pushed a candy with his tongue. “The flying ship will arrive soon. Don’t worry, I will stay with you the entire time.”
Dong Du nodded. “Thank you, Novisane.”
“I think I should ask again at this time.” Novisane approached Dong Du, looking into his eyes seriously. “Little Peach, can I propose to marry you to Xi Yuan after the war?”
Dong Du was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter. “Why are you so persistent, Novisane? My ideal life is to marry a sweet and lovely girl.”
“Not marrying a man.”
Novisane raised an eyebrow, “But everyone has a second gender. Sweet and lovely girls can only be ‘omega,’ and you are also a ‘omega,’ little peach. An ‘omega’ and an ‘alpha’ will be happier together.”
“Maybe.” Dong Du imagined for a moment, and it didn’t seem too difficult to accept.
“Your Highness.” Xu Yiling opened the door to the cockpit and entered, “I have checked the black box. There is no anomaly. As long as they collide, a black hole will definitely form. However, I want to clarify that I cannot determine the range of this black hole; it may affect us.”
“I see.” Dong Du turned to look at Novisane, “Prime Minister, Yars losing you will surely lead to chaos, right? I suggest you leave first.”
“Without me, Yars still has Jarvis to be the prime minister.” Novisane shrugged, his tone firm, “I won’t leave. Although Jarvis is a bit crazy, he is still a person. If I leave, you two ‘omega’ will be in danger, at least Dr will be in danger.”
“I agree with Prime Minister staying.” Xu Yiling also said, “Although Your Excellency’s sacrifice will indeed cause huge losses to Yars, but, Your Highness, besides technical issues, I can’t help much at other times, and I might even be a burden.”
Dong Du sighed. It seemed that he couldn’t leave Novisane at this time. They needed to install the black boxes and remotely control the collision of the spacecraft. He was not good at controlling spacecraft, and he didn’t know what the consequences would be after the collision of the black boxes.
It was best that Novisane could stay, but there was always a strange feeling in his heart. He wanted him to leave, yet he was afraid of him leaving. Fortunately, Novisane was very determined, saving Dong Du from constant indecision.
Finally, a Yars spacecraft arrived over the Black Gold Fortress, and the drifting spacecraft in space finally landed on the deck.
Due to the war, most of Yars’ soldiers had retreated with Zhu Di and others, so this time, only a small team from Yars came. It was a deputy officer of Tang Wencen.
“Your Excellency.” The leading deputy officer saluted Novisane, unable to say any unnecessary words. They had just lost their general, and the whole army was immersed in a mournful atmosphere.
“Kalslu.” Novisane patted the deputy officer’s shoulder, “This is the little prince Dong Du, and this is Dr. Xu Yiling. In the future, you should listen to both of them.”
“Yes, Your Excellency.” Kalslu stood straight, “What should we do next?”
“Relax, Kalslu.” Dong Du said, “Now there are only a few of us here. There should be supplies on the spacecraft. Have a good meal and rest tonight. Tomorrow we will do big things. Before experiencing these unpleasant things, everyone should celebrate a bit to avoid missing the last supper.”
“Then I’ll go call my brothers over.” Kalslu saluted Dong Du and quickly disappeared.
Dong Du, Novisane, and Xu Yiling went to the spacecraft’s cafeteria first. The cafeteria was spacious, and they combined four tables into one large table and laid out the food from the cupboard.
When Kalslu and the others arrived, the three of them had already set up a table. At this time, no one cared about the quality of the food. They even drank plain water, cup after cup.
Early the next morning, Dong Du and Novisane stood on the deck, facing a neat team of five people. Xu Yiling was making the final check for the black boxes. After completing the check, she raised her hand and made an OK gesture to Dong Du.
Dong Du took a deep breath, “Thank you, everyone.”
The five alpha soldiers saluted together and then formed teams to go to Xu Yiling for the two black boxes, respectively.
The airship took off, and everyone gathered in the control room. The ship had reached the maximum distance the airship could operate. Novisane and Dong Du exchanged a glance, and then Novisane nodded to Kalslu
First came the explosion sound, followed by the scorching heatwave. The heavy ship was completely overturned by the shockwave of the explosion. No one in the control room could pay attention to others. The ship’s glass shattered, and in the distance, an extreme white light flickered. Then the white light suddenly disappeared, as if something had torn through space, and a black spot violently expanded, forming a black hole.
The edge of the black hole was adorned with a ring of light, massive like an abyss. The Black Gold Fortress was compressed and gradually disintegrated, the entire structure disappearing into the black hole.
The dilapidated ship had no trace of light, as if abandoned in space. After a long while, a hand emerged from a pile of shattered glass. Novisane, wearing a helmet, crawled out from the broken glass. He surveyed the surroundings, climbed up, and pressed a red button on the control panel.
The sound of shattering glass echoed again, the sharp and grating noise of glass scraping against each other. New glass extended from the ship’s glass lock, sealing the ship once again. Gradually, the air filled the control room, and power was restored.
Fortunately, they were far enough from the black hole.
Novisane found Dong Du leaning against the wall. Dong Du’s eyes were wide open. When Novisane lifted him up, Dong Du suddenly exclaimed, “I thought we were done for this time.”
Novisane took off his helmet and gently kissed Dong Du’s forehead with blood-stained lips. “Little peach, can I marry you?”
“You’re really annoying. Fine, I agree.” Dong Du licked his dry lips, “If a ‘omega’ is destined to marry an ‘alpha,’ then I think it can be you. Besides you, I really can’t imagine being in a relationship with other men. Female alphas are even stranger.”
Novisane bit down on a lollipop with a snap.
At the moment the white light appeared, Dong Du had imagined. He couldn’t imagine what it would be like to live with someone else.
