Chapter 56: Returning Home

Modern technology is extremely advanced, and within a few hours, they managed to construct simple houses that could accommodate an entire planet, set up a cafeteria, and more.
After the Clos’s supply ship arrived, support materials from Yars also arrived. Along with them came Brovill, the bishop who seemed quite persistent about spreading the faith. After meeting with Xi Yuan, he had been telling the children stories about the Yars national religion.
Xi Yuan summoned Dong Du inside the spaceship. He was already dressed in formal attire, prepared to depart for Clos’s capital star. Dong Du thought he was called to say goodbye.
However, Xi Yuan stared out of the small circular window for a long time in silence before saying, “Dong Du, you can name this desolate star. Let it be a commemoration of your achievements.”
Dong Du didn’t respond immediately. He rubbed his chin, pondering for a long time. He wasn’t a person with a poetic or artistic touch, and after thinking for a while, he still couldn’t come up with a name for the planet. “Naming things is not my strong suit.”
“You have an hour left; you can go and discuss it with Novisane.” Xi Yuan glanced at the intelligent device. “I promised him yesterday.”
Dong Du was bewildered. “Promised what?”
“Ten small asteroids, to let him marry you.” Xi Yuan smirked. “You seem quite valuable.”
Dong Du winced in pain from his toothache. He hadn’t expected Novisane, this lunatic, to really use ten small asteroids as a price to win Xi Yuan’s approval. Even though he knew that even if he didn’t give anything, Xi Yuan would still agree.
“It seems I am quite valuable.” Dong Du turned and waved to Xi Yuan as he left.
“Remember to try on formal attire. Today, we are setting off. When we disembark, the people from the capital star will come to welcome us.” Xi Yuan reminded him.
Dong Du replied with an acknowledgment and almost ran to Novisane’s living quarters. It seemed like Novisane had been waiting for him at the door. Before he could knock, the cabin door opened, and Novisane immediately pulled him inside.
“How did you know I was coming?” Dong Du was enveloped in Novisane’s embrace. Novisane exuded a pleasant fragrance, an alpha pheromone, which Dong Du had never found so appealing before.
“I smelled your scent.” Novisane relaxed his arms, lowered his head, and placed his chin on Dong Du’s head. “Going back to the capital star?”
“Yeah.” Dong Du reached around and circled Novisane’s waist, throwing him onto the bed with a body slam. “Stop always sticking to me; it’s so weird.”
“Now you should be getting used to it.” Novisane looked helplessly at him. “After all, we will have to do even weirder things later.”
“What weirder things?” Dong Du made an expression of not listening, although he actually understood. However, the shy emotions made him ask back, pretending not to understand. He didn’t need Novisane to explain; he directly changed the subject. “Xi Yuan said I could name this desolate star. What do you think is a good name?”
“Peach Star?” Novisane smiled at him.
Dong Du leaped over and gave Novisane a vigorous punch. “Can’t you speak properly!”
Novisane pulled him into his arms. “What name do you want to give?”
Dong Du fell silent. He sat in Novisane’s embrace, fidgeting with his fingers. He actually had an answer in his heart, but he didn’t know how to say it.
“Can you tell me a story?” Novisane rubbed his little curls, and the soft peach scent lightly brushed against Dong Du’s nose. Novisane’s alpha pheromones gently flowed out, soothing the restless omega.
“Then, let me tell you a story.” Dong Du huddled up, his gaze unfocused. “A long time ago, there was a place called Earth that experienced an apocalypse. It wasn’t exactly a true apocalypse, but there were frequent occurrences of earthquakes, tsunamis, and wildfires. After these disasters, the dead crawled out of their graves, devouring the living. The corpses then turned into their accomplices. People established bases on the sea, surviving was difficult. I hope that planet can welcome hope, just like this barren planet.”
Novisane rubbed his hair, quietly listening to this somewhat puzzling story. The door of the living quarters was knocked on, and Dong Du jumped up and opened the door; he wasn’t used to being immersed in this atmosphere.
“Your Highness,” Meng Ruan, dressed in a well-fitted formal suit, was holding something. “We are about to set off. His Majesty asked me to bring the formal attire for you.”
“Thanks, Young Master Meng.” Novisane took the formal attire from him and promptly closed the door of the living quarters with a bang.
Meng Ruan stood in shock in front of the closed door. He wanted to complain to someone about Novisane’s mischief, but there was no one around to share his grievances.
Inside the living quarters, Novisane personally helped Dong Du change into the formal attire and then opened the door for him. “Go, little peach, tell His Majesty Xi Yuan the name you’ve chosen for this planet. Your wishes will surely come true.”
Dong Du nodded and, under Novisane’s gaze, boarded the spaceship back to Clos’s capital star.
“Not willing to part?” Zhu Di stood behind Novisane, suddenly speaking.
Novisane turned around to look at him. “General Zhu isn’t busy?”
With Xi Yuan gone, the construction of the desolate star fell under Zhu Di’s supervision.
“I still have some time.” Zhu Di tapped his intelligent device. “Your Excellency Prime Minister, I believe it’s time for you to return.”
“Of course, General. We’ll set off immediately to prepare for the wedding of His Excellency Prime Minister and the little prince.”
Brovill, who knows when, had walked up behind the two of them, and Fina followed him like a shadow. “Your Excellency Prime Minister, shall we embark?”
Novisane nodded and walked towards the spaceship.
The space-folding technology quickly brought Dong Du and the others to the capital star. When the spaceship docked, Dong Du heard a huge cheer. He had never been surrounded so warmly before, and for a moment, he felt a bit overwhelmed, following behind Xi Yuan.
“Long live His Majesty! Long live the little prince!”
The cheers from the crowd made Dong Du feel a bit dizzy. He almost stuck to Xi Yuan’s back, and Xi Yuan, with a helpless sigh, walked with Dong Du for a while, then took a deep breath and pushed Dong Du in front.
“Little prince!”
“Long live the little prince!”
“Thank you, little prince, for repelling the insect race for us!”
“The little prince is the role model for our omegas!”
Dong Du took several deep breaths. Was this treatment something he could enjoy? Had the people of the capital star really seen this entirely new him?
“Let’s go.” Xi Yuan patted his shoulder. “The people have already seen this entirely new you.”
“Do you have telepathy?” Dong Du grumbled quietly and rubbed his nose, passing through the crowd.
Clos had reacquainted themselves with their little prince.
The day after the spaceship returned to the capital star, Xi Yuan held a press conference. Media outlets, large and small, from Clos attended, and even some media from Yars also came to the conference.
Xi Yuan, dressed in the highest standard formal attire, stood on the podium and summarized the war. In the end, he announced the decision to develop the desolate star and revealed the name Dong Du had given to the planet. Finally, he invited Dong Du to the stage.
Dong Du had indeed been dressed up. The pure white little formal suit snugly wrapped around his body. His small curls were tied into a little bun at the back of his head, and there was no sign that he was an omega capable of carrying heavy burdens.
“Finally, I want to tell everyone one more thing.” Xi Yuan held Dong Du’s hand and had him stand in front of him. “After experiencing the shadows of war for so long, we can finally look forward to something joyous. Dong Du has found a suitable alpha and will be getting married soon. At that time, the entire capital star will have a light show to celebrate. Everyone is invited to join in the festivities.”
“Little prince, can you tell us who this lucky alpha is?” a journalist asked.
Dong Du originally had an expressionless face, but when suddenly asked, his face turned bright red. He was too nervous, so nervous that even through the microphone, no one could hear what he was saying.
The omega below the stage loudly teased, “Little prince, an omega’s love for alpha should be declared loudly.”
“Speak up, speak up, everyone wishes you well!”
“I…” Dong Du swallowed, “It is the Prime Minister of Yars, Novisane!”
He said it loudly.
The omega below shouted again, “Then let’s wish the little prince and Prime Minister everlasting happiness!”
“This is impossible!” Meng Ruan wailed in front of the TV. “How could the little prince fall for him? He is neither gentle nor considerate. Moreover, he is the Prime Minister of an enemy country. How could His Majesty agree?”
“What are you howling about? I told you that you don’t stand a chance.” Meng Qinghai gave his own son an eye roll. “I told you to earn some military merit, but you couldn’t even do that. Can you expect the little prince to be interested in you?”
“Father, you didn’t say that before.” Meng Ruan pitifully hugged his old man’s arm. “You were clearly worried before that His Majesty might marry the little prince to me to win over the nobles. How come now you think the little prince wouldn’t be interested in me? Can’t you go talk to His Majesty about it?”
“Is the current little prince the same as the previous little prince? Look at the little prince. After going to the Black Gold Fortress, all the problems have been corrected. He has also made great contributions to the Empire. Look at yourself; after going to the Black Gold Fortress, besides getting rid of one Xia En, what progress have you made?” Meng Qinghai angrily summoned the steward. “Take the young master back to the room. He’s annoying to look at. Also, bring my formal attire; I’m going to see His Majesty.”
Is he still his biological father?
Meng Ruan, with tears in his eyes, was locked in the room.
Meng Qinghai quickly arrived at the palace, where Xi Yuan was discussing matters with the cabinet ministers. When he saw Meng Qinghai, he immediately called him over. “Duke, take a look at this.”
Meng Qinghai looked at the drawings, which were plans for the Martyrs’ Park. Due to the heavy casualties in the recent war, Clos decided to establish a monument in the capital star.
“The location is very suitable, Your Majesty.” Meng Qinghai handed the drawings back to the prime minister. “You can leave this matter to my Meng family. I guarantee to provide Your Majesty with a satisfactory answer.”
“These are all lives,” Xi Yuan sighed.
The Martyrs’ Park was quickly established. On the day of completion, the spaceships roared in the sky above the capital star. Alpha soldiers wore neat military uniforms, holding bone urns with national flags draped over them. With the highest etiquette, they sent the martyrs into the cemetery.
Xi Yuan, leading all the nobles of Clos, came to pay their respects. The cemetery was huge, and each person who sacrificed their life in the war could find their name here.
In the middle of the cemetery, Dong Du saw the gravestones of Chu Xuhuan, Gneville, and others. Small square boxes, cold and silent.
Dong Du just looked at them, and it seemed like there was the sound of wind carrying sand in his ears, making his cheeks sore, almost bringing tears to his eyes.
