Chapter 61 Extra: Daily Life with the Child
<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>
The child, as the nurse said, changed in just a few days. The wrinkled skin became tight and rosy. Nestled in Dong Du’s arms, with little fists clenched near her mouth, she looked extremely adorable.
At first, Dong Du dared not hold her. This soft little bundle made him, accustomed to heavy weapons, afraid to exert any force. But after a few days, he discovered that although the baby looked soft, she could withstand some tossing around. When the nurse changed her diapers, she didn’t even cry when her legs were lifted.
“Xilan Zeduo,” Dong Du called her.
She gurgled and blew a bubble, opening her sleepy eyes to look at Dong Du. Dong Du felt his heart melting and gave her a bottle of goat milk.
Xilan Zeduo made sucking sounds while drinking milk. However, her eyes had closed, and she nodded off, but after a while, she would take a couple of sips of goat milk, eating and sleeping at the same time.
After giving birth to Xilan Zeduo, Dong Du was not allowed to get out of bed, let alone go outside. Novisane had to engage in diplomatic activities every day, but today he managed to return early. He saw Dong Du playing with the baby using a pacifier.
The baby, too tired to open her eyes, occasionally opened a tiny slit but quickly closed it. However, her nose was sensitive, catching the scent of milk.
Dong Du took the pacifier from her mouth and moved it slowly in the air. Xilan Zeduo, while smacking her lips, moved her head, chasing the milk bottle.
“Is it fun?” Novisane laughed.
“She has a milk-finding radar,” Dong Du said, eyes shining. “Now, she looks more like me, and her personality is like mine too. She must eat more to grow quickly.”
“You want her to eat more, yet you’re teasing her,” Novisane took Xilan Zeduo and also took the milk bottle from Dong Du’s hand.
Dong Du thought Novisane was going to feed the child, but unexpectedly, Novisane put Xilan Zeduo on the carpet, letting her hold the milk bottle herself.
The room was very warm, so there was no need to worry about the child catching a cold.
Novisane lifted Dong Du’s blanket, nestled into his neck, and took a deep breath. “Little peach, you smell so good, with a hint of peach fragrance and a bit of milk.”
“Get lost,” Dong Du’s face turned red, kicking him discontentedly.
But Novisane didn’t move, and he let out a comfortable sigh. “It’s been a long time since I’ve had a good night’s sleep. Hold me for a while.”
The baby’s nighttime crying indeed made it difficult to sleep well. Dong Du didn’t speak, and in no time, both of them fell asleep drowsily. They woke up because the steward knocked on the door, bringing dinner for Dong Du.
Novisane, accustomed to being served by others, answered with a sound as the steward came in. When the steward entered, he immediately saw Xilan Zeduo sprawled on the floor in a mess.
“Your Excellency!” The steward called out in a heavy tone.
As if suddenly realizing something, Novisane sat up from the bed, bent over, and picked up Xilan Zeduo into his arms.
Xilan Zeduo showed no signs of waking up. Novisane placed her next to Dong Du.
“Your Excellency, a child is not raised this way. How can you compete for space with her?” The steward, full of sorrow, lectured, “She is still very fragile at this time.”
Novisane had been taken care of by the steward since childhood, so in terms of life, he would listen to the steward to some extent. Without saying anything, Novisane inserted his hands into his pockets, looking up at the sky with his eyes, like a rebellious elementary school student.
The steward no longer scolded him. After sighing, he opened the small table on the bed, set up the meal for Dong Du, and then left the room. Novisane sat on the bedside, pinching Xilan Zeduo’s face, “When will you grow up? Quickly give my little peach back to me.”
Time raising a child passed by quickly. Soon, Xilan Zeduo turned one month old, and Dong Du and Novisane set off for Yars. They held a one-month celebration for Xilan Zeduo in the capital star of Yars.
Many people were invited from the Clos Empire, including Xi Yuan, Zhu Di, Hanchester, Xu Yiling, and Meng Ruan.
Early in the morning, the Prime Minister’s residence prepared to welcome the guests.
The preparations were made. Xilan Zeduo wore a little dress, a soft cotton hat on her head, and her eyes rolled around. Dong Du held her, and whenever they stopped, she would eagerly urge Dong Du to carry her around.
People at the Prime Minister’s residence were very concerned about Dong Du and Novisane. Although the child was always in Dong Du’s arms, behind him were two Beta maids. Moreover, all the places with sharp contours in the Prime Minister’s residence were covered with collision-proof stickers.
The first to arrive at the Prime Minister’s residence was Brovill. He wore the attire of a bishop, curiously approaching to see Xilan Zeduo. Xilan Zeduo giggled a few times and reached out, grabbing Brovill’s hat.
Fina followed behind, showing a rare smile.
After finally rescuing the hat from Xilan Zeduo’s hands, Brovill reached out to touch Xilan Zeduo’s forehead. “Whether you are an alpha or omega, may you be as strong as your fathers.”
The bishop’s blessing came true on Xilan Zeduo. She grew faster than children of the same age and had the features of her two dads at a young age.
She learned to walk just after turning one year old. Every day, she played with mud and picked flowers in the garden, resulting in everyone in the Prime Minister’s residence wearing flowers on their heads every day. Any child who played with her for more than ten minutes would be adorned with flowers and return home with a dirty face.
She was also very vain. Just after learning to call “dad,” she would command Dong Du to dress her up, saying, “Dad, yiyaya~”
Dong Du couldn’t understand what she was saying at all, but he guessed it. He had the steward bring a pack of small hair ties and then combed Xilan Zeduo’s fluffy baby hair, tying two horn-like braids.
However, he didn’t know how to braid hair. The two short and chubby braids, one high and one low, were accompanied by numerous unbraided short hairs sticking out.
Surprisingly, Xilan Zeduo was very satisfied with this hairstyle. Proudly, she crawled to the study to show Novisane. When she came out, she had several big red flowers on her head, looking both earthy and trendy.
Dong Du burst into laughter, but Xilan Zeduo didn’t realize she was being teased. She clapped her hands, following along, “Dad, Father, kiss.”
Dong Du picked her up, planted a kiss on Xilan Zeduo’s face, and asked her, “Did you give flowers to Dad?”
“Yay!” Xilan Zeduo clapped her hands, struggling to get out of Dong Du’s arms, and ran to the garden to pick a flower. The flowers in the garden were almost all devastated by her.
Her intention was to indicate that she hadn’t given flowers to Novisane. So, Dong Du carried Xilan Zeduo, and the two of them entered Novisane’s study together. Without Dong Du’s command, just as they stood in front of Novisane’s desk, Xilan Zeduo bent down, pressed the flower onto Novisane’s head, and said, “Father, flower.”
“Great, Father is wearing it.” Novisane picked up Xilan Zeduo and hugged her. “My baby has so many flowers; let Dad have one too.”
“I don’t want it.” Dong Du turned his head and tried to run out, but Novisane, quick-eyed and quick-handed, grabbed his sleeve.
Xilan Zeduo laughed loudly, hugging Dong Du’s legs. Dong Du didn’t dare to struggle for fear of her tripping, so in the end, the whole family wore flowers.
The AI in the study automatically activated, capturing a family portrait with a click.

That was a precious end!
Although I will say, this has been on of the more confusing stories I’ve ever read. The plot was great, bit I believe it’s execution could have leaned towards a manner that could have been less confusing in its timeline. A few proper paragraphs to digest the timeskips, character deaths and major events would have done a good job on assisting in clearing that confusion.
Left me hanging about that quick transmigration employee, jing li? What happened to the apocalypse
