Chapter 63

Outside, Tao Li was trembling on the ground, suddenly hearing the guards rushing in with a clamor. They dragged out a person with a broken leg, causing her to be terrified. Shortly after, the commotion inside the hall subsided, but the group of servant girls and guards outside the hall remained motionless.

It was the Imperial Guards who first noticed something was amiss. They observed that Tao Li didn’t have the palace insignia on her waist, and one of them astutely reached out to stop her, questioning, “Which palace are you from?”

At that moment, the Emperor strode out, and his keen ears caught just a few words.

“I, I… am…”

Hearing a familiar voice, his gaze swept across and landed on Tao Li. “What are you doing here?”

“Your Majesty, I…” Tao Li couldn’t lie at all, her mind went blank.

The Emperor seemed to realize something, his face darkened a few shades, and he abruptly waved his long sleeves. A gust of wind blew across Tao Li’s forehead.

This only strengthened his earlier suspicions.

“He actually came to inquire about it!”

Instructing someone to immediately detain Tao Li, they headed straight towards the direction of Chengluan Palace.

Chu Xie had been waiting for quite a while until the afternoon but still hadn’t seen Tao Li return, leaving him puzzled.

Turning his head, he heard the commotion of footsteps outside and was about to call out for Tao Li when he heard the sounds of someone being kicked.

It wasn’t Tao Li.

After a commanding shout, everyone at the door of the hall retreated outside the courtyard. The footsteps approached, and with a bang, the door was forcefully pushed open.

Through the bronze mirror, Chu Xie saw the backlit and slender figure at the door, unable to discern the person’s expression.

But he could sense a strong anger.

Could it be that Tao Li had revealed a flaw in the inquiry about the peace talks, making him so angry?

Chu Xie had just changed into a new ceremonial robe, now only draped in a silk long gown over the white clothes, with a loose neckline under the slender neck.

A glimpse of skin as white as jade could be seen.

Chu Xie looked at the unfriendly young emperor who had come, ignoring the situation, he put on a smiling face and, following his gaze, adjusted his neckline. He stood up and asked, “Why has Your Majesty come at this time? The ceremonial robe has just been sent away…”

Only to see the unprecedented gloom on his face, Chu Xie was secretly alarmed. For a moment, he hurriedly searched his mind to figure out where he had offended him. Before he could come up with anything, the person had already taken three steps and stood imposingly in front of him.

One hand grabbed his wrist and pulled him in, while the other pinched his jaw, forcing him to lift his head to face the aggressor. The fingertips exerted considerable force, leaving several red marks in an instant.

“Chu Zhangyin, what a good Chu Zhangyin!”

Before he could respond with a couple of words, Jiang Yanchi took a few steps back, turned around, and kicked the door shut with a loud bang. The force was so great that it almost broke the door.

Chu Xie staggered backward, sensing that something was not right.

Jiang Yanchi, like a hungry wolf, became even more fierce as he stepped back. His gaze became more ruthless, with no concealment of the hostility in his eyes. He dragged Chu Xie into his arms, slamming him onto the bed without a word.

This time, he didn’t say a word to him. He immediately tore off his outer robe, threw it aside, and scattered his already messy long hair on the pillow.

Chu Xie, realizing the unfavorable situation, quickly conceded, “Your Majesty, let’s talk—uh!”

His mouth was covered.

Jiang Yanchi had no intention of listening to him at all.

One hand loosened the inner clothes, tearing them apart directly. After a few sounds of torn silk, the soft satin was crumpled and thrown onto the bed. Without even letting Chu Xie take off his boots, Jiang Yanchi tried to unfasten the belt. When he couldn’t, he simply took the short dagger from his waist, bit the hilt, and threw the sheath away, making a clattering sound as it hit the ground.

The momentum was fierce and continuous.

Chu Xie, seeing the ominous gleam of the blade, struggled for a moment, but his resistance was feeble. Before he could turn over, he was subdued.

“Uh!… Uh uh!” His mouth was still covered, and Chu Xie’s face turned pale with fear. He stared wide-eyed in terror at the cold light of the blade – could it be that Jiang Yanchi intended to harm him?

Why?

A trace of fear appeared in Chu Xie’s eyes, but this glimmer of terror did not move the person in front of him. Jiang Yanchi, holding the knife, cut Chu Xie’s belt and threw it to the ground.

Chu Xie was drenched in cold sweat from this sequence of actions.

Before he could relax, he watched Jiang Yanchi use the severed belt to tie up his restless hands, skillfully making a tight knot around the bedpost.

When he finished tying, he finally released the hand covering Chu Xie’s mouth. Chu Xie immediately shouted angrily, “Jiang Yanchi, have you gone mad!”

“Humph.” He only snorted coldly, then grabbed both of Chu Xie’s ankles and spread them apart, sitting between his knees.

With no clothing covering them, the cold wind blew in from the window, causing Chu Xie to shiver.

“Jiang Yanchi, I’m going to marry you, and I’m not opposed to being with you, but binding me like this… Can you please release me? Even if we’re going to do it, we—uh!” As Chu Xie tried to negotiate, he suddenly found his mouth stuffed with a piece of cloth.

“Chu Xie, I don’t want to hear you say a word.” The person said coldly.

“Uh!”

Jiang Yanchi, without much emotion, manipulated his long and fair legs. Unlike the previous days with many preparations, this time there were no kisses or embraces at all.

The movements were swift and brutal, showing no consideration for his feelings.

Well, although Chu Xie didn’t expect any special experiences.

But the feeling of being completely suppressed and manipulated was terrifying.

Jiang Yanchi, just like last time, used his fingers to toy with that area. As soon as there were some movements, the person in front of him started to struggle violently, arching his body. Although nothing significant had been done, he seemed to be portraying an unbearable appearance.

The enchanting peach blossom eyes widened, with a glimmer of fine moisture in the eye sockets and a thin layer of sweat on both sides of the nose.

The disheveled hair clung to the delicate and slender neck.

For whom was this display?

A sudden thirst hit his throat, like hot oil splashed over.

Jiang Yanchi clenched his teeth, but his hands did not stop; he even intensified the actions.

Chu Xie seemed to struggle for breath. Suddenly, he stretched his neck, tossing his head left and right, as if trying to escape something.

“Why act so coy? Since you’ve been accustomed to it, what’s the problem? Can’t I do it when others can?!”

After a few rough movements, he held the jade-like ankles and spread them even wider.

Although Chu Xie had mentally prepared for this, facing it directly still made him uneasy. Besides, who knew Jiang Yanchi had such an unconventional preference, insisting on tying people up and silencing them.

Wasn’t the process different last time?

Just a few days ago, it was relatively gentle. D*mn this crazy brat!

Moreover, if it had to be done, shouldn’t they apply something first? Otherwise, it would be too uncomfortable later…

Just as he thought about it, a tearing pain robbed him of his breath.

“Uh!”

His eye sockets were instantly moistened by physiological tears, covered with a layer of mist, and the figure in front of him became blurry.

Jiang Yanchi… you d*mn…

The ruthless force didn’t show any signs of stopping, shattering the sob stuck in his throat. Chu Xie was in pain, no pleasure emerged, and his whole body trembled.

Jiang Yanchi, considering him cold, temporarily stopped his movements and pulled the blanket from the side to cover them.

Chu Xie only caught his breath, panting heavily. Before he could recover, the person on top of him started tormenting him again.

Perhaps seeing him frowning too much, his breath in disarray, and his struggling look, the b*stard kindly pulled down the cloth covering his mouth.

Chu Xie could only grasp the essentials, “Do you have a sickness? This hurts a lot…”

Jiang Yanchi pressed his shoulder coldly, without saying a word.

Chu Xie couldn’t bear it and softened his tone, “Can you… slow down a bit?” In fact, Chu Xie wanted to ask if he could apply some ointment, but looking at Jiang Yanchi, who seemed to be suppressing his anger, he refrained from making too many requests.

Jiang Yanchi pressed down on his shoulder coldly, “You know it hurts.”

D*mn it, of course I know it hurts. If you don’t believe me, let me do the same to you.

Chu Xie dared not say this now.

Perhaps seeing his expression too painful, with reddened eye sockets and wet eyelashes trembling, Jiang Yanchi, despite everything, eventually felt a trace of pity in his heart and stopped the actions after a couple of times.

The two were at a standstill, caught in a painful tug-of-war.

“Chu Xie, do you have a single truthful word in your mouth?”

He pinched the person’s jaw, leaned in closely, and stared at those eyes that were adept at deception.

“I’ve told you before, don’t lie to me!”

He had been deceived by him time and time again, yet in the end, he still believed him.

“I… What did I lie to you about…” Chu Xie’s voice was hoarse.

“You said that you wouldn’t want to if it were someone else, that you’ve never done such transactions. Chu Xie, you know exactly how to placate and deceive me. You control me so accurately!” Jiang Yanchi harshly bit down on the lips that had uttered countless lies until a faint taste of blood emerged, then let go. “How many people have you deceived with these methods? How did you become the Chu Zhangyin? How many people’s beds have you been in!”

“Chu Xie, how can you be so—”

The more hurtful words were held back at the end, and Jiang Yanchi didn’t say them.

The conversation stopped, and the actions continued.

Chu Xie wanted to say something but bit his lower lip tightly. Suddenly, the pain made the corners of his eyes wet again.

Seeing Chu Xie silent and not explaining, the malicious fire in Jiang Yanchi’s heart raged unrestrainedly, and he continued to torment without reservation.

After a few more moves, the person beneath him became softer, giving an illusion of compliance.

In reality, Chu Xie’s vision had already darkened, and he had bitten his lower lip, causing it to bleed without making a sound. He hadn’t endured for long before he fainted beneath Jiang Yanchi.

Jiang Yanchi noticed that the body had completely softened, and gradually, some sanity returned. He looked at the wound on Chu Xie’s lip and the overly pale face, then glanced at the weak fingers hanging down by the bedside.

Realizing that this person had passed out, he suddenly panicked and immediately untied the bindings.

The fair wrist area of the person was red from struggling.

He felt a coldness in his chest like it had been soaked in cold water.

What was he… doing?

“Ah Xie, Ah…” He gently called out, his tone gentle, but the person did not respond. The sweat on his body felt as if he had just been pulled out of the water, cold to the touch.

The early winter wind was so cold, and he was soaked. How could he withstand such freezing temperatures?

Jiang Yanchi quickly wrapped the person in a blanket, threw on a piece of outerwear, and kicked the door open. He shouted anxiously, “Summon the imperial physician, quickly!”

After calling for two basins of water and personally wiping away the thin layer of sweat covering him, Jiang Yanchi dismissed the palace attendants. Just as he lifted the bedding beneath him, he saw scattered bloodstains on the bed.

For a moment, he felt a bit bewildered. Without saying a word, he turned the person over and wiped them. Whenever he touched sensitive areas, Chu Xie’s hands would unconsciously scratch.

How could there be blood?

The imperial physician arrived quickly. When Jiang Yanchi sent someone to fetch him, he had the little eunuch explain the situation. Only one physician was sent, and it was Doctor Wu, the most trusted by the Eastern Palace.

Back when Jiang Yanchi was in the Cold Palace, he had sneaked out several times, and each time Doctor Wu had turned a blind eye, providing him with many medicinal herbs.

Jiang Yanchi promoted him to the position of overseeing the pharmacy after he came to power, allowing him to live a leisurely life.

The seventy-year-old had served four generations of kings and had long been accustomed to such matters between the nobility in the imperial city. After asking a few questions, he wanted to lift the bedding to take a look. However, Jiang Yanchi frowned, pressing the bedding down to prevent him from seeing. This put Doctor Wu in a difficult situation.

Initially filled with anger, Jiang Yanchi’s fire was now extinguished by the current situation. He thought of Chu Xie’s pride; he would definitely not want others to see him like this. Stubbornly shaking his head, Jiang Yanchi said, “Doctor Wu, think of another way to diagnose.”

“Then, Your Majesty… please briefly describe the situation.”

Jiang Yanchi hesitated and briefly described the situation behind Chu Xie. After carefully feeling Chu Xie’s pulse, Doctor Wu made a judgment and said, “Your Majesty, the empress has just recovered from a serious injury, and their body is weak. The stagnant blood in his lungs has not dissipated yet. He should be properly recuperating and should not be subjected to such… Moreover, you are not yet officially married. It’s not appropriate according to customs. How can…”

Jiang Yanchi clenched his hands. “It’s my rashness…”

“Moreover, based on your description, the empress has also been injured behind, seeing blood. It needs to be carefully cleaned. She may have a high fever tonight. For the empress’s first time, it should have been more gentle…”

Jiang Yanchi was stunned for a moment, as if he had been struck in a sore spot. In a muffled voice, he said, “He is not a first-timer.”

Doctor Wu made a surprised sound and then said with confusion, “Your Highness, if you did not reach the peak, and in just a moment, it led to such an injury, it is undoubtedly a first time. If someone is experienced, they would not be injured like this…”

Jiang Yanchi suddenly froze.

“Your Highness, there’s no need to suspect the Empress. You are soon to be husband and wife, and trust is paramount.”

The last sentence had an underlying meaning, but it was not explicitly stated.
