Awkward Chapter 45

When Ye Mu arrived at the underground parking garage, he saw the two of them staring at each other in silence.

Song Jia’s eyes were red and her face had a slight blush, looking more like she was angry than shy.

Chen Mo leaned against the car door with a detached expression.

Ye Mu, feeling troubled from earlier and not wanting to get involved, pressed the car key button to unlock the door. But midway, someone suddenly grabbed him from the side.

Before he could react, Song Jia shouted, “Oh, so you think Ye Mu is good, huh? Fine, I’ll fulfill your wish. From today on, I’ll date him!”

Her words echoed through the garage, full of determination.

Chen Mo coughed, a slight smirk forming on his lips, but he quickly reverted to his usual cold demeanor and looked away.

Song Jia noticed and frowned, abandoning pretense. She snapped, “What are you laughing at?”

Chen Mo glanced casually at Ye Mu, saying nothing.

Ye Mu, expressionless, looked at him.

Song Jia, unable to get an answer from Chen Mo, turned her frustration towards Ye Mu. “Why are you laughing?”

Ye Mu had no explanation and remained silent.

Chen Mo, with a nonchalant expression, said, “Don’t bother; he’s gay too.”

Song Jia, not believing it, stared at Ye Mu with skepticism.

Ye Mu glanced at her, pondered for a moment, and gave a low, confirming hum. Although he didn’t say much, it was clear he confirmed it.

Song Jia’s pupils dilated with rage, feeling a burning anger throughout her body.

D*mn it! A million curses! Her heart was racing with fury, and her movements became more vicious.

“Smack! Smack!”

Without warning, she delivered two swift, powerful kicks to the abdomen of both men, leaving no room for escape. Chen Mo and Ye Mu both collapsed to the ground, clutching their wounds and grimacing in pain, struggling to breathe due to the intensity.

Song Jia looked down at them with fiery eyes, spat out angrily, “D*mn it, a pair of dogs!”

She kicked them a few more times out of spite, then turned and walked away without looking back.

Despite her seemingly delicate appearance, Song Jia had practiced Taekwondo as a child, and her strikes were more powerful than those of many adults. Her personal emotions only intensified the impact.

Five minutes after she left, the two men remained silent.

Ye Mu, in pain and barely able to move, sweat forming on his forehead, gritted his teeth and managed to ask, “What did you say to her?”

Seeing how Song Jia had changed from a shy girl to someone so aggressive in the blink of an eye was truly absurd.

Chen Mo, having taken a heavier hit, had not yet recovered. His face remained grim, and he didn’t respond for a long time. His pale, handsome face was set in a stern expression, clearly drained of energy.

Ye Mu noticed Chen Mo’s condition and asked with concern, “Should I take you to the hospital?”

Chen Mo, still in pain, finally managed to reply with two words, “No need.”

Ye Mu, struggling to sit up against the car, sighed, “You really brought this on yourself.”

Chen Mo, wincing from the pain, moved a bit closer to Ye Mu and said, “If it means she won’t bother me again, the pain is worth it.”

Ye Mu leaned back against the car, closing his eyes with a bitter smile, “But why did you drag me into this?”

Chen Mo gave him a sardonic look. “You’re the one playing matchmaker.”

Ye Mu rubbed his forehead, clearly tired. “Trouble just never comes alone.”

Chen Mo glanced at him indifferently and asked, “What do you mean?”

Ye Mu looked down, “I just spoke with Mr. Song. LOTTO is going to interfere with the project as well.”

Chen Mo sneered, his lips curling in disdain. “The contract is already signed with us. They’ll only get a minor share once it’s completed. I’m not worried.”

Ye Mu looked at him sideways. “I have a feeling it’s not that simple. After this IPO, the project will be named after one of the companies. Even though their role is auxiliary, as long as they can fight for it, Yan Chen isn’t someone who would easily give up.”

Chen Mo smirked, “It’s just a name. If they want it, they can have it. I’m not interested.”

Ye Mu was skeptical, “Are you serious?”

The IPO project is a significant deal, and losing the recognition that comes with it would be a huge waste if it’s taken away like this.

Chen Mo stared at the ceiling with an unusual calm, “It’s not the first time. I’ve never won against him, so I don’t want to waste my time fighting.”

Ye Mu, surprised by his attitude, commented, “This doesn’t seem like you.”

He knew Chen Mo had a naturally aggressive streak and wouldn’t easily back down without making an effort.

Chen Mo didn’t elaborate, just silently placed a hand on Ye Mu’s shoulder to help him up. “Let’s go. It’s time to head back.”

Ye Mu knew he couldn’t persuade him otherwise and said no more. He helped Chen Mo up, opened the car door, and they both got in. After fastening their seat belts, Ye Mu started the engine.

But as if to add to their misfortune, they were soon blocked by a Lamborghini in the narrow parking space, unable to turn around. They were forced to stop again.

Under the circumstances, Ye Mu had no choice but to use the license plate number to inquire at the security office a few hundred meters away from the parking garage.

“Hello, the license plate is HU BJ8809. Could you tell me whose car this is?”

The security guard, equipped with reading glasses, checked the register and informed him, “Oh, this car belongs to our Little Chief Song. It’s been parked here for several hours. He should be coming down soon, so you might want to wait a little longer.”

Ye Mu frowned slightly. “Little Chief Song?”

He was aware that Song had a son involved in the medical field but was not aware of him being involved in company matters.

Seeing Ye Mu’s confusion, the security guard kindly explained, “Yes, our General Manager Song’s son is Song Youyu. It’s understandable you wouldn’t know him; he has only recently started working at the company.”

Ye Mu nodded in thanks but, not wanting to wait too long, asked, “Could you provide me with his contact number?”

The guard scratched his head. “Sorry, we don’t have that information here.”

Ye Mu then took out his phone and sent a text message to Song Senior, hoping he could help with the contact. After waiting a considerable time without a reply, he had no choice but to return to the underground garage.

Upon seeing Ye Mu’s return, Chen Mo asked, “Any updates?”

Ye Mu shrugged, indicating no progress.

Chen Mo adjusted his seating position slightly, crossed his arms, and leaned back, saying indifferently, “It’s almost time to clock out. Let’s wait a little longer.”

Ye Mu agreed, nodding and returning to the driver’s seat. Concerned about the cooperation matters, he took out his laptop and began searching for information and making inquiries.

The underground garage was relatively dark and quiet, with no one around.

After a while, Chen Mo began to feel drowsy and decided to take a nap. However, just as he was about to close his eyes, he heard a low, muffled sound coming from a corner.

Ye Mu also heard it and glanced in that direction, only to freeze momentarily.

In the dim light of the garage, he saw a tall, fit man kissing a handsome young man in the corner. The interaction was full of intimacy, with occasional romantic whispers that sparked further imagination.

The two seemed to be in a flirtatious mood, with the man’s assertive behavior eliciting soft pleas from the other.

Chen Mo’s eyes widened in surprise, and his face darkened. Just as he was about to exit the car, Ye Mu stopped him.

Chen Mo frowned, his voice cold, “What’s the meaning of this?”

Ye Mu did not respond immediately but showed him a text message from Song Senior.

—Ye Mu, this IPO project will be handled by my son Song Youyu. If you have any further matters, please discuss them with him.

Chen Mo, realizing that Ye Mu was hinting at the man involved, felt a surge of frustration but kept his voice low, “So what? You don’t expect me to stay here and watch the entire show, do you?” He emphasized, “I have no interest in such matters.”

Ye Mu kept his hand on Chen Mo’s shoulder and said calmly, “It won’t be much longer. Just hang in there.”

Chen Mo, though still clearly agitated, closed his eyes for a moment and then reopened them, trying to suppress his anger but still remaining seated in the car.

Ye Mu noticed Chen Mo’s compliance and returned to his work.

Chen Mo stared straight ahead, his slender, dark eyes trying not to glance at that shadowy corner, but his mind just couldn’t calm down. Outside the car window, two men were engaged in intense, shameful activities, the sounds of which made it impossible for any adult man to remain completely composed.

The constant sounds, persistent and invasive, triggered certain hormones in his body, inexplicably stirring restlessness and wild thoughts.

Inside the car, it was silent. Sharing this small space, he could faintly smell the man’s scent beside him.

It was cool and refreshing, somewhat like mint, making him feel incredibly comfortable.

Chen Mo slowly turned his head, his gaze unconsciously lingering for a moment on the fair skin of the man beside him. His breathing became inexplicably heavier, and his whole body started to feel unnatural—a strange, unfamiliar warmth mixed with a slight itch.

In the dim light, he couldn’t help but notice how attractive the other’s features were. The man was exceptionally handsome, with red lips and white teeth, exuding a calm and dignified aura. The more Chen Mo looked, the more pleasing he found it.

Unintentionally, his gaze traveled from those thin lips, down the fair and beautiful neck, along the broad, strong back with its faintly visible muscles, to the slender, firm calves below the abdomen.

That familiar surge of impulse suddenly spread through him, making it hard to control, causing the blood vessels in his forehead to throb, his heart racing along with it.

Ye Mu, focused on his documents, sensed the intense gaze and calmly said in a cool voice, “What’s wrong?”

Chen Mo’s expression tightened slightly, his gaze shifting away as he struggled to maintain a neutral, indifferent look in his dark eyes. His lips were tightly pressed together. “Nothing.”

Ye Mu didn’t pay much attention, continuing to browse through the documents, quietly saying, “Don’t overthink it.”

Chen Mo pressed his lips together, his Adam’s apple sliding as his cold, sharp profile remained unyielding. “You’re kidding, I’m only interested in women.”

Ye Mu responded with a faint “Hmm,” “That’s good then.”

Chen Mo said nothing more, staring out the window, his face still young and handsome, looking the same as usual, but his expression was as stiff as a fossil.

D*mn it, he must be going crazy!

Just a moment ago, he actually wanted to get on top of Ye Mu!
