Shoutout to nyanmaru for the commission!
Ye Mu’s facial expression twitched slightly at the sound, and he couldn’t help but glance sideways at the man beside him.
Chen Mo remained motionless, staring straight ahead, maintaining a calm demeanor as he coughed lightly, pretending as if nothing had happened.
Ye Mu sneered in disdain, “Where’s your dignity?”
Chen Mo awkwardly turned his face away, his lips tightly pressed, “What dignity?”
Ye Mu glanced at him sideways, his face darkening.
Chen Mo kept a straight face, his sharp profile exuding arrogance and sharpness, “What are you looking at? If I had any, I’d give it all to you.”
Ye Mu’s expression remained blank as he retorted, “Well, I think I traded it for money.”
Chen Mo raised an eyebrow, “Traded for money?”
Ye Mu’s eyes were cold as he replied in a low, flat voice, “To pay for your treatment.”
Chen Mo turned to him, continuing, “What treatment?”
Ye Mu closed his eyes, leaning back in the seat, and said, “Paralysis above the neck.”
Chen Mo replied indifferently, “Is it serious? Does it require amputation?”
Ye Mu’s face was cold as he answered, “Brain damage, incurable.”
Chen Mo didn’t get angry, instead letting out a sarcastic laugh, wanting to say that having brain damage was better than having no brain at all, but he changed his words at the last moment, “It’s okay. Hitting is caring, scolding is love. If you scold me, it means you love me.”
Ye Mu couldn’t help but retort, “Can you be any more shameless?”
Chen Mo thickened his skin, “Of course I can.”
Seeing that Chen Mo was hopeless, Ye Mu looked exasperated, “Did you forget? Who was the one who kept saying he was straight?”
Chen Mo’s slender phoenix eyes wandered over Ye Mu, his thin lips curving into a meaningful smile, “I haven’t forgotten. I’m straight, when my lower half meets you, I go straight.”
Ye Mu was speechless, pulling down his eye mask and deciding to ignore him. This person was simply unbelievable.
Chen Mo pulled the mask off and raised his sharp chin, “When we arrive at the airport, do you want to grab a coffee together?”
Ye Mu took the mask back from him, putting it on again to sleep, “No time, someone’s picking me up today.”
Chen Mo squinted his eyes slightly, “Who?”
Ye Mu pressed his lips together, sounding impatient, “My mom.”
Chen Mo’s expression relaxed, his enthusiasm dampened, “Why is she picking you up?”
Ye Mu turned away from him, “I haven’t been home in a while, so it’s normal for her to pick me up.”
Chen Mo reached out and touched his waist, his eyes deepening, “That sounds boring. You’d be better off spending time with me.”
Ye Mu frowned, slapping his restless hand away, “Whether it’s boring or not is my business. Also, stop touching me, or I’ll get a knife.”
Chen Mo’s thin lips curved slightly as he leaned in to kiss his cheek, his voice low and seductive, “Would you really cut me?”
Ye Mu, annoyed and angry, turned to scold him but was suddenly silenced by a kiss.
Chen Mo’s eyelashes fluttered as he gave him a deep, domineering kiss, their lips and tongues entangled, full of passion and desire.
Ye Mu’s face burned, his frustration growing, as he pulled away abruptly, pressing his back against the glass window. “Chen Mo, if you’re sick, take your meds.”
Chen Mo leaned in to kiss him again, his profile handsome and sharp, licking his lips as he said, “You’re the medicine. The more I have of you, the closer I get to recovery.”
Ye Mu was nearly driven mad by him. He gulped down a glass of cold water, got up, and headed to the restroom.
Turning on the faucet, he bent over and splashed cold water on his face.
But it wasn’t long before he felt someone grabbing his waist and pressing a hard object against him.
Embraced from behind, familiar hot breath whispered in his ear, “Older Brother, want to have some fun in the restroom? Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?”
Ye Mu’s veins throbbed with anger, his face reddening with fury. He suddenly grabbed Chen Mo by the collar, “Chen, what the h*ll do you want?”
Chen Mo stared at him, his narrow, deep eyes half-closed, his lips moving, “Nothing much, just want to pursue you.”
As he spoke, he rubbed his lower body against Ye Mu’s, teasing him through the fabric, and added, “Don’t you have any interest in me?”
Having already found Ye Mu’s sensitive spot from their previous encounters, he continued to skillfully provoke him.
Ye Mu was panting, despite their earlier encounter on the beach, he couldn’t help but feel aroused again, his hormones stirring.
Chen Mo’s lips brushed against his ear, his voice low and seductive, “Come to my place later, okay?”
Ye Mu’s heart raced, but he kept his composure, pushing him away with a firm tone of rejection, “I’ll say it one more time, I’m not available!”
His push wasn’t forceful, but to Chen Mo, it seemed a bit like a show of affection. Unable to resist, he wrapped his arms around Ye Mu’s slim waist and hugged him. “Stop being so insincere.”
Ye Mu’s Adam’s apple moved as he spoke, looking increasingly irritated. “If you’re so desperate, go find some adult content and take care of yourself. Don’t keep bothering me—there’s no chance for us.”
Chen Mo traced his fingers up Ye Mu’s hand, guiding them down to his lower abdomen. His taut lips hinted at sharp, suggestive intent. “It’s not fun doing it alone. Why don’t you help me out?”
Ye Mu gritted his teeth, grabbing a bottle of mineral water and throwing it at Chen Mo’s face. “D*mn it, enough already!”
After that, he broke free from Chen Mo’s embrace and turned back to the cabin.
Chen Mo wiped his face, watching Ye Mu’s retreating figure. His gaze lingered on Ye Mu’s firm and shapely backside for a moment before he licked his lips dryly, his eyes deep as a bottomless pit.
Back in his seat, Ye Mu couldn’t get comfortable and tossed and turned, feeling unusually irritated.
The long flight from London to Shanghai felt endless.
Unable to endure the wait, he pulled out his phone and, by chance, saw an unread email.
“Regarding the Song project, we’ve agreed to sign the contract. However, some fixed assets in the western suburbs still need verification. I need someone from your side to come over for an on-site inspection.”
Sender: Yan Chen
Seeing the name, Ye Mu calmed down considerably. He quickly typed a reply: “Understood. I will take full responsibility for this project and will follow up accordingly.”
Since it was a business matter, he didn’t dwell on it further and returned to the main screen. Just as he was about to put his phone away, another response came in.
Yan Chen: “The schedule is tight. The time is set for 1 p.m. tomorrow. Please adjust on your end.”
Ye Mu responded indifferently: “Okay.”
After a brief pause, another message arrived. “I heard you went to the UK.”
Ye Mu replied simply, “Yes.”
The sender didn’t push further and casually asked, “How was it?”
Ye Mu looked down, his face emotionless. “Went to Walton, bought some candy for Ye Chun.”
Another unread email arrived quickly. The sender didn’t elaborate further. “Sounds good.”
After that, their communication naturally ended.
Ye Mu stared at the darkened screen for a while, feeling indifferent and nostalgic.
He used to think he would love this person wholeheartedly for a lifetime. For eight years, he held that belief firmly, even up until the moment he was kicked out of the villa. But it turned out that even the deepest love couldn’t withstand the relentless passage of time, the changes in people and places, or the many wounds that life inflicts. Sometimes, going from love to indifference is so simple.
The passionate infatuation and persistent affection of youth had faded away with time, leaving no trace.
Without longing or expectations, it was buried like dead ashes.
Looking out the window, Ye Mu’s face had a more profound, melancholic expression.
Chen Mo changed into a white shirt and noticed something was off when he returned. His gaze lingered on the phone Ye Mu tightly held. He raised an eyebrow and reached out to grab it. “Let me see.”
Ye Mu frowned and instinctively resisted. “What are you doing?”
Chen Mo shook the phone, his eyes glinting. “Be honest. Did someone just send you something?”
Ye Mu turned his head away, his voice flat. “Just business.”
Chen Mo pressed his lips together, his eyes narrowing slightly. “Can business make you react like this?”
Ye Mu snatched the phone back, his tone cold and distant. “Believe it or not, just don’t bother me.”
Seeing Ye Mu’s distant demeanor, Chen Mo felt uneasy and tried to soothe him. “Okay, I believe you. If you’re not happy, just don’t say anything.”
While speaking, he touched Ye Mu’s fair face.
Ye Mu, feeling disgusted, got up and negotiated a seat swap with another first-class passenger. The other person agreed to switch quickly.
In the corner where he was free from disturbances, Ye Mu felt the world calm down and quickly fell asleep.
The plane landed over ten hours later. When opening the cabin door, Ye Mu didn’t wait for Chen Mo and quickly grabbed his suitcase, hurrying out and leaving Chen Mo far behind.
As he walked to the waiting area, he saw a familiar figure from afar. Approaching with dust on his face, he managed a rare smile on his usually cold face. “Mom.”
Ye Juan looked at her handsome son with relief. “Finally, you’re here.”
Ye Mu gave a helpless look. “I already said you didn’t need to pick me up, but you insisted.”
Ye Juan smiled warmly. “It’s fine. I needed to get some fresh air. Your dad said he’d cook today, so it saves me some trouble.”
Ye Mu’s lips curved slightly. “It’s been a while since I had Dad’s cooking. Let’s see if his skills have declined.”
“Alright, let’s go home.” Ye Juan’s face was beaming.
Ye Mu nodded, ready to head towards the exit with her.
But Ye Juan suddenly stopped as if remembering something. “By the way, you mentioned a colleague was on the business trip with you. Where is he? Invite him to our place for dinner. It’ll be livelier with more people.”
Ye Mu frowned, glancing back at Chen Mo who was walking towards them. His voice was low. “He has other business matters. Let’s go ahead.”
Chen Mo, with good eyesight, had seen the mother and son from a distance and waved in greeting.
Ye Juan noticed and smiled warmly, her gaze shifting ambiguously between the two. She leaned in and lowered her voice to her son. “That young man is quite handsome. Where is he from?”
Ye Mu could tell she was thinking the wrong thing and, feeling a headache coming on, rubbed his forehead. “He’s just an ordinary colleague, Mom. Don’t overthink it.”
Ye Juan seemed to ignore him, her eyes fixed on Chen Mo with appreciation. “Wow, he really is good-looking. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen someone so pleasant.”
Ye Mu furrowed his brows, his expression serious and annoyed. “Mom, he’s the company boss. We have nothing to do with each other.”
Seeing her son’s serious expression, Ye Juan realized she might have overthought things. Not wanting to upset him, she quickly adjusted her attitude. “Alright, it was my mistake. Let’s go, we’ll be in trouble if we’re late and your dad starts nagging.”
Ye Mu softened, nodded, and was about to say something when he was suddenly tapped on the shoulder.
Chen Mo had approached without Ye Mu noticing and stood between them with a suitcase in hand.
Ye Juan glanced at the handsome young man in front of her, knowing his identity but unsure how to address him. She hesitated before saying, “And who might you be…?”
Chen Mo smiled, not waiting for Ye Mu’s introduction. He flashed a charming smile and said, “Hello, mother-in-law. I’m Chen Mo.”
