Shoutout to nyanmaru for the commission!
Carrying several full shopping bags, the two of them didn’t return until it was already past seven in the evening.
Perhaps it was because he hadn’t been home in a long time, but when Ye Mu opened the door, he couldn’t help but feel a bit sentimental. “They always say that no matter how luxurious, there’s no place like home, and I’m starting to agree.”
Chen Mo placed the shopping bags in the kitchen and chuckled, “What, I didn’t take good enough care of you at the hospital?”
Ye Mu slightly pursed his lips, walked over in slippers to open a bag, took out some vegetables, and began washing them in the sink. “To be honest, I really do have to thank you this time.”
Chen Mo slowly wrapped his arms around Ye Mu’s slender waist from behind, his voice low as he whispered in his ear, “And how exactly do you plan to thank me?”
Ye Mu coughed, trying to conceal his inner turmoil. “How about I cook dinner for you tonight?”
Chen Mo’s eyes darkened as his defined fingers slid down to Ye Mu’s lower abdomen. “Is that all?”
Ye Mu grabbed his restless hand and subtly shifted forward. “Let’s get the meal ready first; I’m hungry.”
Chen Mo pressed his chest against him and smirked. “Aren’t you just washing vegetables? What are you thinking?”
Ye Mu’s face stiffened, and his ears reddened as he tugged at his collar. “Whatever you think, that’s where my mind goes.”
Chen Mo couldn’t help but smile. He turned his head and kissed Ye Mu’s already flushed ear. He found this shy Ye Mu somewhat endearing. “I wasn’t thinking anything improper.”
Ye Mu swallowed, feeling distracted, as he ran hot water and began washing a small cucumber in his hand, moving it back and forth. “Does that mean I’m the one with the dirty thoughts?”
Chen Mo squinted his eyes. “Out of all these vegetables, you chose to wash that one, hmm?”
Ye Mu feigned calmness and replied expressionlessly, “It was just what I grabbed first.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he tossed the cucumber aside and started washing a carrot.
Chen Mo gave him a sidelong glance. “This one’s thicker than the last and the color’s closer too.”
Ye Mu, now flushed with embarrassment and anger, turned off the tap and turned to leave.
But Chen Mo didn’t let go, his tense thighs brushing against Ye Mu’s through the black pants. “Where are you going? Weren’t you going to cook?”
Ye Mu glared at him with frustration, his face showing clear displeasure. “I do want to cook, stop causing trouble.”
Chen Mo’s eyes roamed freely over the delicate, pale skin of Ye Mu’s neck. “I’m not doing anything.”
Ye Mu couldn’t hold back and turned around, glaring at him as if shooting icy rays from his eyes. “Who was it that just said they’ve matured recently?”
Chen Mo’s tightly pressed lips betrayed a hint of mischief as his slender fingers tugged at the waistband of Ye Mu’s pants. “You said it yourself—some things still remain childish.”
Ye Mu’s breathing grew heavier as he used his elbow to push Chen Mo away, creating some distance. “I’m not saying you can’t do it, but at least let me have dinner first.”
Chen Mo leaned down and captured Ye Mu’s lips, biting them softly a few times. “Go sit on the sofa, I’ll call you when it’s ready.”
Ye Mu, eager to get away, quickly fled. “Hurry up.”
Chen Mo smirked, his fair and beautiful fingers continuing to wash the vegetables that Ye Mu had left unfinished.
Ye Mu drank several glasses of cold water before he could quench the strange fire burning within him. After calming down, even he was a bit surprised at himself.
When had he become so easily influenced by the other? Even the smallest gesture or a casual remark could send his heart racing uncontrollably.
Sitting on the sofa in the living room, he stared at the broad, youthful back in the kitchen for a long time, a slight smile suddenly tugging at his lips. This restless, unrestrained version of himself felt unfamiliar. If Chen Mo was experiencing a second adolescence, could it be that Ye Mu was having his second spring?
Ye Mu chuckled self-deprecatingly, his thin lips unconsciously curving upward as he watched Chen Mo busily working in the kitchen. A warm current of emotion surged through his heart.
Chen Mo moved quickly, stir-frying a few vegetables and cooking some porridge, completing everything in about half an hour.
Ye Mu walked over and sat down, picking up his chopsticks with some dissatisfaction as he frowned, “No meat?”
Chen Mo pursed his lips indifferently. “You just got out of the hospital. You need to eat something light.”
Ye Mu gave him a sidelong glance and couldn’t help but roll his eyes. “It’s not because steak takes too long to cook and you didn’t want to bother, is it?”
Chen Mo picked up a vegetable and ate it, shamelessly replying, “You’re suspicious of me? Don’t you feel ashamed?”
Ye Mu gently reached over and rubbed his hand against the bulge in Chen Mo’s pants. “Are you that eager?”
Chen Mo’s eyes darkened as he grasped Ye Mu’s hand, his lips curving with a hint of possessiveness. “You know, we’ve never done it at the dinner table. Just thinking about it sounds exciting. Want to try?”
Ye Mu knew he meant it and didn’t dare push his luck. He withdrew his hand and obediently started eating. He had experienced many times how teasing Chen Mo often backfired.
Chen Mo carefully picked out some vegetables and placed them on Ye Mu’s plate. “How’s the taste? Is it good?”
Ye Mu continued to eat his rice. “Not bad. I didn’t expect you to be such a good cook.”
Chen Mo smiled. “I went through a lot of hunger and hardship as a child, so I naturally learned how to feed myself.”
Ye Mu remained silent for a moment. If he remembered correctly, Chen Mo had lived with his mother’s side of the family at that time. “Didn’t your mother take care of your daily needs?”
Chen Mo let out a cold laugh, his tone laced with disdain. “All she ever did was hit me. I never expected her to give me a bite to eat.”
Ye Mu knew he shouldn’t ask, but he couldn’t help himself. “Why?”
Chen Mo’s expression was indifferent. “There wasn’t any particular reason. When she was in a bad mood and didn’t like the sight of me, she’d hit me. She hated that man and hated me even more, thinking that giving birth to me had ruined her life.”
Ye Mu lowered his head. “Logically, your mother was still young at the time. Why didn’t she remarry?”
Chen Mo took a sip of porridge. “After being betrayed once, her personality became a bit extreme. No one wanted to marry her after that.”
Ye Mu felt a lump in his throat. “With that kind of childhood and family, you must have had a tough time.”
Chen Mo shrugged nonchalantly. “It’s nothing. I just see it as gaining life experience. If it weren’t for all that, I wouldn’t have worked so hard to study abroad and then start my own business. I just did it to prove a point.”
Ye Mu nodded, acknowledging, “At your age, achieving all this is indeed quite impressive. Maybe this time, you’ll even win the Young Entrepreneur Award.”
Chen Mo scoffed. “Whatever. They can keep that little award. I’m not interested.”
Ye Mu had almost finished eating and stopped. “At least it would boost the company’s reputation a bit. If you can get it, it’s not bad. Don’t aim too high.”
Chen Mo stood up to clear the table. “Maybe you’re right, but I’m not as eager for quick success as I used to be. As long as the company is stable, I don’t need anything else.”
Ye Mu frowned as he helped clear the dishes. “I thought your goal was to surpass Lotto and become one of the top three publicly listed companies in the country.”
Chen Mo shrugged. “It was, but now I don’t think that way anymore. Money is endless, and besides—”
Ye Mu saw him pause and glanced at him. “Besides what?”
Chen Mo leaned closer to him, his body slightly tilting toward Ye Mu. “Besides, having you is enough. I don’t ask for anything more. I feel like life doesn’t need too much pursuit. Call me short-sighted or lacking ambition, but this is the path I’ve chosen.”
Ye Mu had a vague feeling that Chen Mo had thought everything through and prepared for every eventuality. “Are you hiding something from me? Did you make a decision without telling me?”
Chen Mo leaned in to softly kiss his cheek with his warm, moist lips. “Not exactly a decision, just facing reality. There might be a lot of trouble coming our way soon.”
Ye Mu’s eyes darkened. “What do you mean? Are you planning to come out publicly?”
Chen Mo pressed his forehead against Ye Mu’s, his eyes unfathomable. “Didn’t you notice? Someone was following and secretly taking photos of us on the street just now. Instead of waiting for it to be exposed, it’s better to be upfront about it.”
Ye Mu’s eyelashes trembled, and his face turned grim. Although he had anticipated that Yan Chen wouldn’t let things slide, he didn’t expect the other party to act so quickly.
Chen Mo held Ye Mu’s chin and kissed him lightly, his handsome face exuding calmness. “Don’t worry, if he wants to play, I’ll play along.”
Ye Mu frowned deeply, wanting to say something, but his lips were abruptly sealed by Chen Mo’s.
Chen Mo bit gently on Ye Mu’s soft lips, his wet tongue prying them open and domineeringly exploring. “Don’t overthink it, just trust me.”
His voice was a bit hoarse and muffled, but it carried a deep-sea-like determination and calmness that was profoundly moving.
Ye Mu’s eyes showed hesitation. At this moment, there was nothing he could do but close his eyes and respond to the kiss with a sense of frustrated release.
Chen Mo, stimulated by the passionate kiss, felt his entire body filled with hormones. The simple contact of tongues and lips was no longer enough for him, and his movements began to take on an aggressive edge.
Ye Mu’s eyes welled up with moisture. Aside from his lips turning red from the kiss, even his pale face took on a flush, and the thin sweat on his neck made him look incredibly alluring.
Chen Mo bit down on the stubble at Ye Mu’s chin. “Do you like it when I treat you like this?”
Ye Mu tilted his head back, gasping for breath, his eyelids moist with a foggy wetness. He couldn’t help but cling to Chen Mo. “Let’s… let’s take a shower first.”
Chen Mo’s lips curved slightly as he picked Ye Mu up by the waist, unbuttoning his shirt as he carried him toward the bedroom, leaving a trail of scattered clothes behind.
By the time they reached the shower, Ye Mu was already stripped bare, and he couldn’t help but cover his eyes in embarrassment.
Chen Mo turned on the shower, and soon, steaming hot water poured down, quickly filling the enclosed space with mist.
Ye Mu looked at Chen Mo with a dazed expression, his voice suppressed. “You can still back out. If you choose to withdraw at this moment, I won’t blame you.”
He had seen how ruthless that person could be, so he knew that when Chen Mo said he would play along, there was some uncertainty mixed in. In terms of connections and means, Chen Mo was still a bit lacking.
Chen Mo gave him a heavy kiss, his side profile sharp and handsome, and sneered, “Don’t underestimate me.”
His skilled movements sent a tingly sensation up Ye Mu’s spine. Ye Mu clung to his neck, speaking intermittently, “I respect your decision, but if you ever feel it’s not worth it, you can tell me clearly. I’ll understand.”
Chen Mo held him tightly with his arms, gently kissing his thin eyelids. “That day will never come.”
Ye Mu caressed Chen Mo’s cheek, his gaze becoming a bit dazed. “I hope so.”
Chen Mo kissed his soft lips with a deep, magnetic voice. “Ye Mu, I love you.”
Ye Mu’s eyes flickered, his closed-off heart suddenly opening up, and his lashes were damp with moisture. “Me too.”
Chen Mo looked at him with deep affection, his eyes filled with an overwhelming sense of immersion.
In the small room, their souls intertangled, neither willing to let go.
As Ye Mu fell asleep against Chen Mo’s shoulder, he felt as sweet as honey.
The feeling of being in love could indeed be this blissful.
