Chapter 24: Alpha with Pheromone Disorder (24)
The strong wind blew, causing the shadows of the trees to sway. Two snowflakes fell into Shui Que’s collar. He raised his hand to brush them off, but instead, his hand touched water that had already melted.
He was still a bit stunned, unsure how everything had happened.
In any case, there was a heavy shadow, and the streetlight’s circuit was faulty, flickering repeatedly.
Someone swung a fist, and the sound of the air being sliced through by force filled the air, followed by a muffled grunt of pain.
His hand was grabbed, and he stumbled as he was pulled along.
He had been thinking about how Lu Fengchi and Qu Jiuchao were following him, wondering how he could distract them enough to slip away without being caught stepping on two boats, yet still escape easily.
He never expected things to turn out this way.
Shui Que stumbled forward while looking back. The injured Alpha was holding his left cheek and sucking in cold air in pain, seemingly thinking that Shui Que had been taken by a stranger and was trying to catch up.
A boy nearby said something, but Shui Que had already moved farther away, so he couldn’t hear it. However, the Alpha seemed to calm down.
Song Qin, frustrated and disappointed, directly changed his approach. He reached out and pulled Shui Que into his arms, almost pushing him forward as he gently but firmly guided him.
The heavy, wooden cane made a loud thud with each step on the ground.
Shui Que shrank his neck.
[Is he angry?] he nervously asked System 77, [Do you think he’ll punish me when he gets home for being in a secret relationship?]
That’s how it was depicted in the dramas he watched recently.
Bad kids who were in early relationships were said to be beaten by their parents with a vine, and it was always portrayed as very tragic.
Wait.
He was already an adult.
This wasn’t an early relationship!
But he couldn’t fight back against Song Qin…
This was bad.
System 77, ever thoughtful, reassured him: [Don’t worry, host. I’ll activate pain blockers for you!]
[Okay, okay.] Shui Que gained a little confidence, [77, you’re so kind.]
The small ball-shaped device became invisible, but its circuit board might have been damaged from overuse, as smoke was coming out.
The car smoothly continued along the road, but the atmosphere inside was tense, so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.
When they stopped in front of the brightly lit villa, Shui Que greeted the butler and housekeeper inside. With their worried gazes on him, he could only shake and followed Song Qin’s lead up to the third-floor study.
Behind his gold-rimmed glasses, Song Qin’s gaze was sharp. Even though they were sitting and standing, the man’s fingers tapping on the desk made Shui Que freeze in place, too afraid to make a sound.
“Come here. Why are you standing so far away?” Song Qin said, his lips pressing down, still watching Shui Que like he wished he would stay three meters away.
It was like coaxing a turtle; Shui Que took a small step forward, then another tiny one, standing by the desk just before Song Qin’s patience ran out.
Shui Que bit his lip, allowing Song Qin to examine him from top to bottom.
“Take your clothes off.” His words were icy.
Shui Que jumped, startled, “Huh?”
Song Qin sighed, seeing how dazed Shui Que was. He took a deep breath, his fingers pressing against his brow, “Aren’t you hot?”
The room was warm with the heater on full blast, and Shui Que was wearing a down jacket. After a while, he noticed beads of sweat on his forehead, though he hadn’t realized it before.
Following Song Qin’s instructions, he took off his down jacket,
walked to the door, and hung it on the coat rack before slowly returning to stand next to Song Qin.
Song Qin: “Sit.”
Shui Que looked around. The study was usually only used by Song Qin to work, and he would sometimes come in to grab a book before going back to sit on the couch in his room. There was only one chair by the desk.
Song Qin was sitting.
Where should he sit?
The floor?
Shui Que’s eyes showed his hesitation.
Seeing that he wasn’t moving, Song Qin just grabbed him and, almost forcibly, sat him on his lap.
“Sit still, don’t move.” Song Qin said, opening his laptop. The night before New Year’s Eve, Shui Que had been forced to watch a series of videos titled “#The Top 10 Dangers of Early Relationships That Parents Must Tell Their Kids!” “#Don’t Trust Others’ Sweet Words, They Can’t Give You Happiness,” “#Omega Getting Pregnant Before Marriage? This Is Your Future…” and “#Top 10 Reasons I Don’t Advocate For Love During Student Years!”
It was all from Baijiahao videos.
The target audience seemed to be middle-aged and elderly people.
Some of the titles even had grammatical errors.
Shui Que couldn’t take it anymore.
What exactly was Song Qin making him watch…?
“Brother.” Shui Que couldn’t take it anymore, his voice soft and small, “I’m Alpha.”
Why was there content about Omega pregnancies?
Song Qin gave him a cold glance and clicked on the next video. “Just because you’re Alpha, that means you need to protect yourself even more.”
Under the current legal system, Omegas were given stricter and more comprehensive protection, and anyone who infringed on them would face harsh punishment. Many criminals had been deterred because of this.
But Shui Que, with his delicate arms, pale skin, and large eyes, was the type of Alpha who attracted troublemakers.
Because the punishment was lighter, the return on investment was higher—he could be kissed until his lips were swollen, crying and trembling, yet the troublemakers wouldn’t let him go.
Song Qin’s gaze turned stormy as he unbuttoned Shui Que’s coat.
Good.
There were no suspicious marks on his neck.
That eased his mind, and the stone in his heart finally lifted.
But if he unbuttoned just one more button, he would find that Shui Que’s normally soft and pale skin had been marked with a tender red, a sign of someone having bitten him.
It wouldn’t heal soon.
“Brother, did you never date anyone when you were in school?” Shui Que nervously tried to change the subject. His neck felt cold, and when Song Qin wasn’t looking, he quickly buttoned up his coat again.
“No.” Song Qin replied, “Not back then, and not now.”
No wonder he was the protagonist of a no-CP story…
The male lead, who had no dust on him, only showed warmth in his eyes when he looked at Shui Que. “Go to sleep.”

[High-Quality Picture of the Baby Bird! Come Quickly! Produced by Haicheng Photography Club, Definitely a Masterpiece!]
Late at night, the campus forum suddenly had a post go viral.
[Are you secretly in love with the transfer student…? The names are getting more and more extravagant, and now the homepage is filled with him.]
[Who asked you? Stinky Alpha, mind your own business.]
[Where’s the OP? Did you elope with our baby bird? Where’s the picture? I’m asking, where’s the picture?]
[My big brother is asking you, @OP]
[Sorry I’m late/please kneel, see here. Image x10]
[Is this really what I’m seeing?]
[Those few black-skinned sports Alpha guys, what level are they to be on stage with our little bird? I really saw them and my eyes went black; it was more dazzling than fireworks. Fortunately, baby bird helped clean my eyes.]
[I went to search for the same type of palace-style dress on a certain site, oh my god, it’s a U-neck, and just adjusting it a bit makes it a shoulder-baring design… Little Baby Bird is even wearing a huge cape, is there something they’re hiding underneath?]
[If you don’t cover up properly, you’ll probably be eaten on the spot… omg, the look Bluebeard gave Baby is truly terrifying, he almost seems like he wants to rip off the cape and bite Little Bird’s small shoulder off TvT.]
[Uh, uh, uh, and by the way, this is a joint performance between Class 10 and Class 19, right? Why does only one president from Class 19 appear in the performance?]
[What the heck, no one told me SSQ was also performing. I thought it was just the simple-minded, muscle-bound group from Class 10 putting on a show.]
[Hehe, the registration form for Class 19 was in the hands of the only person who successfully signed up. Why didn’t others participate? You can guess…]
[Did you intercept my registration form! (Suddenly going crazy) Was it you! (Shaking wildly) Was it you! (Grabbing the collar)]
[What did you guys drink from SSQ’s potion? I actually saw with my own eyes last night that he and Lu, Qu were doing something ambiguous. They were kissing and hugging, then a man in a suit came to take him away. Who knows what kind of flower-playing they’re doing behind closed doors, he’s probably already been kissed and toyed with by men.]
[Only you guys see him as the innocent young boy who’s never even kissed anyone.]
[Saw it with your own eyes? Why didn’t you record it? Where’s the video, just talking trash, huh?]
[They kissed and hugged, and so what? Our little bird, a beautiful male high schooler, has grown up and started dating, what’s wrong with that? Do you think ancient zombies can’t use smartphones to surf the web now?]
[Sorry, little bird’s actually been through everything and dated hundreds of top-tier alpha males, and still comes back looking like the innocent boy next door, while the foul-mouthed river monster A here will never find a wife and will always smell bad in a bridge hole.]
The conversation derails into a heated argument.
In the dark hours before dawn, someone quietly posted a link to a thread on an unknown forum.
[Returned to my alma mater during the New Year, unexpectedly found out that this one junior looks a lot like some pink-streaming platform’s little host… see the photo in the link.]
[The link’s down? Where’s the photo?]
[Are you messing with us?]
When the poster tried to go back to the campus forum’s original post, it kept showing a 404 error, no matter how many times they tried to reload the page.

The following day, after a sleepless night, Alpha went for a morning jog and walked his dog in the snowy weather of the northern city. He simply threw on a windbreaker.
The dark navy with highlights shimmering in the sunlight gave him a golden edge, and when he ran, his messy hair blew in the wind, revealing his well-defined brow bones and forehead.
That morning, the website’s algorithm had recommended a New Year’s Eve event from his old high school.
He usually didn’t care about these things, and even when invited to the centennial school celebration, he hadn’t gone. But somehow, he clicked on the link.
Perhaps fate was involved, as he wasn’t particularly superstitious, but on the 4k live stream, there appeared someone he had been thinking about often. He was momentarily speechless.
He was so beautiful.
There were alumni in the chat praising how this kid looked so youthful and vibrant.
In general, his looks could appeal to both genders and all ages.
He was said to be traveling in Haicheng.
Little liar.
“Woof!” The dog’s bark snapped him back to his thoughts.
He realized that he had been running so lost in thought that he was about to crash into a streetlight.
On the other end of the leash, a black, yellow, and brown shepherd sat down, cocking its head, looking up at him.
For some reason, he could see worry in the dog’s eyes, as though concerned about his stupidity.
“…”
Sometimes having a too-smart dog wasn’t good.
His friend’s husky only bumped into streetlights on its own and didn’t mock its owner for doing the same.
Thinking about it, since he didn’t have anything interesting to film this morning, he took a picture of the dog.
The shepherd, now five years old, was still in its prime, always fed raw meat and organs, and kept in top condition. Its sleek fur shone brightly, and its athletic build was impressive.
He checked in on WeChat as usual.
[Xiang Xun: Good morning, went for a jog and took the dog out.]
[Attached is a photo of the shepherd.]
[Transferred 520,000 yuan to the other party.]
Unexpectedly, the reply came fast.
[Shui Shui: Is this your dog?]
Xie Xiangxun felt pleased, not rushing home, and stood by the street as he typed a reply.
[Xiang Xun: Yeah. His name is York, a German Shepherd.]
[Xiang Xun: He’ll come back with me to Haicheng for New Year. York can do a backflip, would you like to see it? I’ll have him perform for you.]
Shui Que hesitated for a minute, but looking at the photo of the shepherd, he made a decision.
He would visit the dog before the New Year after organizing the winter trip for the junior semester, then return to face the final stage of his tragic downfall.
It should be fine, right?
Just visiting the dog.
Nothing else.
[Shui Shui: He can really do a backflip?]
[Shui Shui: I want to see.]
Xie Xiangxun crouched down, patted the dog’s head, and smiled, “York, it’s all up to you.”
York tilted his head, not understanding.
Xie Xiangxun said, “It should be able to learn backflips in half a month, right?”
