Did The Young Prince’s Kingdom Get Destroyed Today? Chapter 111

Zhang San’s question hung in the air, unanswered.

Li Wei had died too quickly, too brutally. His subordinates, witnessing his gruesome death, didn’t even have time to muster the will for revenge before fear overtook their minds.

Even with an army behind them, they realized they were no match for the people of Guan Shan Residence.

Guan Shan Residence was terrifying.

This was the only thought that occupied the minds of everyone present at that moment.

Seeing no response, Zhang San raised an eyebrow and, still smiling, asked, “No more fighting?”

Zhang San’s voice wasn’t loud, but in the dead silence, everyone could hear him.

There was still no reply. The little one clung tightly to Ah Wu’s hand, his small hand cold from fear.

Sensing his cold palm, Ah Wu squeezed his hand back gently, whispering, “Don’t be afraid.”

In the silence, Ah Wu’s voice was caught by those around them.

Soon, Dun Dun, who was closest to the little one, also reached out to hold his other hand.

He whispered in a tiny voice, “Little Seven, don’t… don’t be scared.”

Though Dun Dun was trying to comfort the little one, he looked scared himself.

Big Boss’s gaze shifted over once again. After a few seconds, he said in a calm voice, “Zhang San, stop wasting time.”

Zhang San coughed. “Got it.”

With the Big Boss’s orders, Zhang San no longer felt like wasting time.

He aimed his weapon at another deputy general and asked in a calm tone, “Do you surrender and leave, or do you want to end up like that brave man earlier, blown to bits?”

Zhang San only targeted the generals and deputy generals, not the ordinary soldiers holding weapons.

Those soldiers simply followed orders, and their deaths wouldn’t mean much to anyone.

But the generals, deputy generals, and other key figures were different.

Their lives were valuable, and their deaths held power to intimidate.

The deputy general’s face turned pale, his lips trembling. He struggled to suppress his fear and took two steps forward. “I don’t believe you can kill me from such a distance!”

This kind of long-range killing weapon was something the deputy general had never seen in his life.

He was terrified but couldn’t afford to surrender.

If he surrendered now, he would likely face execution upon returning home. It was better to gamble that this weapon couldn’t be used a second time.

Zhang San sighed regretfully at his words.

“Sigh, I don’t enjoy doing this.”

Despite his sigh, Zhang San’s hands didn’t stop. In an instant, the deputy general met the same fate as Li Wei, blown to pieces.

The moment the deputy general died, Ah Wu reached out to cover the little one’s eyes.

Big Boss’s body shifted slightly, and with this small movement, he too managed to block the little one’s line of sight.

Even though his eyes were covered, the little one could hear what had happened.

He squeezed his eyes shut tightly and pressed Ah Wu’s hand firmly against his eyes.

“We… we surrender.”

This time, no one in the army dared to even think of resisting. One of the military advisors, who had been scared out of his mind, shouted, “We surrender, we surrender right now.”

The once-imposing army, now reduced to nothing, had completely lost its spirit.

The army began to retreat, and in the shadows, Murong Xu and Ling Hao, who had been crouching, were jolted back to awareness by the sound of the retreat.

They exchanged a glance, seeing the shock in each other’s eyes.

Before they arrived, they had thought Guan Shan Residence wouldn’t be able to overcome this obstacle.

But after witnessing everything, they realized—

No one could stand in Guan Shan Residence’s way.

If Guan Shan Residence fully revealed its power, the consequences would be unimaginable.

“Murong Xu.”

It took Ling Hao a long time to regain his voice, and he asked softly, “Should we still bring Little Seven back?”

They had come to take Little Seven back, but that was only under the assumption that Guan Shan Residence was in trouble.

Now that Guan Shan Residence was safe and sound, he wasn’t sure if they should still retrieve him.

“Little Seven probably won’t want to leave.”

Murong Xu knew his nephew well. “He has friends here. He won’t want to go back.”

“We could bring his friends back with him,” Ling Hao suggested.

But Murong Xu shook his head, not adopting the suggestion.

The two men fell into silence.

Ling Hao eventually said, “With Guan Shan Residence being this powerful, keeping Little Seven here to continue his studies might actually be a good thing.”

After all, it was thanks to Little Seven’s time here that they had obtained blueprints for new weapon designs.

Although the weapon blueprint that Little Seven provided was vastly different from the current weapons used at Guan Shan Residence, it was still highly beneficial to the Qi Dynasty military. Allowing Little Seven to continue his lessons could lead to even more valuable discoveries.

“Whether or not we take him back, we should at least visit him since we’re here.”

“Yes, you’re right.”

To enter Guan Shan Residence, they needed to notify them in advance, as this procedure was outlined in Little Seven’s enrollment manual.

Having witnessed the immense power of Guan Shan Residence, they both unanimously decided to follow the proper procedures. Otherwise, they feared they might not even leave behind complete remains if they offended Guan Shan Residence.

“At least we’ll give Little Seven a pleasant surprise when we see him,” Murong Xu said, finding a way to justify their decision. “Little Seven must be missing us.”

Instead of approaching directly, the two retreated, preparing to follow the protocol with their team.

Meanwhile, the cleanup crew silently tidied the scene, restoring everything to normal.

Zhang San’s weapon was also taken away.

Stretching his shoulders, he lazily remarked to a nearby colleague, “I haven’t carried this thing in a long time. It’s ridiculously heavy. Can’t they make it a bit lighter?”

His grumbling earned him nothing but an eye roll from his companion. “If you can, go make it yourself. Make it as light as you want.”

Zhang San: “…”

Zhang San fell silent, knowing full well he couldn’t create such a weapon himself.

Onlookers in the stands still hadn’t dispersed. Zhang San, intending to greet the children, approached them, but as soon as they saw him, they all took a step back.

Zhang San: “?”

After scanning the crowd, he fixed his gaze on a little one covering his eyes. He walked up, gently nudging Ah Wu aside and pinched the child’s cheek, motioning for him to open his eyes.

Not knowing who was in front of him, the child tentatively opened his eyes, only to burst into tears the next second. “I’m scared!”

The little one had seen bloody scenes before, having eaten raw meat during hunts. But he had never witnessed something so gruesome—a person blown apart in an instant. The sight was too much for the unprepared child.

With tears streaming down his face, Little Seven looked up and cried loudly.

Although the other children had stronger nerves, they too had been suppressing their fear. Seeing Little Seven break down, their attention shifted, and they quickly gathered around to comfort him.

“Little Seven, don’t cry. Don’t be scared.”

Distracted by consoling Little Seven, the children’s fear seemed to diminish somewhat.

Ah Wu, having been pushed aside by Zhang San, quickly returned to comfort his little charge, wiping away his tears with concern.

Zhang San, seeing the situation, awkwardly scratched his nose. “Was it really that scary…”

His voice trailed off, realizing that the scene might have been too intense for the young ones.

“Alright, I’ll leave now,” he said, quickly walking away to avoid frightening the children further.

Ah Wu, heart aching for the weeping Little Seven, gently wiped away his tears.

Master Jue handed him a handkerchief to help with the task.

“Don’t cry, let’s go back,” Ah Wu said softly after drying Little Seven’s tears, preparing to carry him.

But Little Seven, still sniffling, couldn’t muster the strength to move. Seeing this, Ah Wu was about to pick him up when the chief examiner approached. His towering presence caused Little Seven to stop crying abruptly, holding back his tears as he hiccuped.

“Big, Big Boss…,” Little Seven murmured in a small voice, looking up nervously.

The chief examiner locked eyes with Little Seven. After a few moments, under the child’s increasingly sheepish gaze, the chief examiner picked him up.

Little one: “….”

The little one was stunned. Though the chief examiner had carried him before, this time it made his heart race with anxiety.

Ah Wu followed closely, attempting to take the little one back, but the chief examiner ignored him.

“Big Boss!”

The little one, seeing that Ah Wu wasn’t able to retrieve him, resigned himself to the situation and wrapped his arms around the chief examiner’s neck, obediently greeting him.

The chief examiner responded with a simple “Mmm.”

As the children were led away by the Masters, the scene was restored to normal, as though nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, Murong Xu and Ling Hao were at the entrance of Guan Shan Residence, filling out forms and verifying their identities while waiting for approval. If the application went through, they would be allowed in; if not, they would have to leave.

As they waited, Little Seven sat quietly in the chief examiner’s arms, wondering what kind of fate awaited him.

The storm had passed, and life at Guan Shan Residence resumed its usual course.

The chief examiner carried Little Seven back to his residence. Upon reaching the doorway, he glanced at Ah Wu, who had followed closely, and said, “Little Seven will stay here tonight. You can go back.”

“I’ll stay with him,” Ah Wu insisted.

The chief examiner didn’t reply.

Ah Wu hesitated but didn’t leave. Seeing this, the chief examiner’s tone turned cold. “Why are you so afraid? Do you think I’ll eat him?”

The chief examiner wasn’t going to harm the little one; in fact, he would only cook for him.

Ah Wu stayed silent for a moment, then turned and stepped away.

The little one was carried into the house.

As soon as they entered, the child rubbed his soft cheek against the chief examiner’s handsome face, trying to play innocent. “I haven’t been here in so long. It’s still as nice as before.”

The chief examiner let out a light chuckle.

He pointed to his curtains, which had been shredded by the little one’s tiny claws. Then, he gestured toward his chair, where claw marks were clearly visible. Finally, he pointed to various other spots around the room, all covered in claw marks.

The little one’s act of feigned ignorance was quickly running out of steam.

Glancing at his handiwork, he stubbornly said with the last bit of his performance: “Who could have done this? What a naughty little rascal!”

The chief examiner placed the “naughty rascal” on the table, crossed his arms, and asked, “What exactly are you?”

The little one remained silent. After a long pause, he finally responded, “I’m a little prince.”

He wasn’t some strange creature.

The chief examiner didn’t want to beat around the bush. He simply threatened, “Tell me the truth, and I’ll make you some noodles.”

“If you don’t, I’ll eat Ah Wu.”

The little one’s eyes widened in shock. “You can’t eat Ah Wu!”

Ah Wu was a fierce beast; he could eat others, but no one could eat him!

The chief examiner, seeing the child’s expression, could tell that he didn’t truly believe Ah Wu was in danger of being eaten.

“Little Seven, do you really think that if I wanted to deal with Ah Wu seriously, he could escape?”

The little one was speechless, and his confidence quickly deflated.

He stared blankly at the chief examiner, who ruffled his hair, giving him some time to think.

While the little one pondered, the chief examiner went to the kitchen and cooked some noodles, fried a whole crispy golden chicken, made potato fries, and even prepared a newly invented drink.

This drink was sweet and fizzy, and he remembered it was quite popular with children.

The chief examiner quickly finished preparing everything and brought the food and drink to the table, offering the drink to the little one.

After taking a sip, the little one’s previously gloomy expression brightened instantly.

He reached out with both hands, eager to hold the cup and drink more, but the chief examiner took it away.

“I’m thirsty,” the little one said, eyeing the cup longingly.

The chief examiner’s tone was unyielding. “Tell the truth, and all this will be yours.”

Using the food and drink as bait, the chief examiner attempted to coax the truth out of the little one.

The child sniffled, determined. “I won’t give in!”

Neither the noodles nor the drink could tempt him.

Upon hearing this, the chief examiner sat down and, right in front of the little one, started eating the noodles himself.

Seeing him begin to eat, the little one panicked.

“Those are my noodles!”

“I made them.”

The two locked in a standoff, the little one glancing between the chief examiner and the food. Thinking of the earlier threat and the delicious food and drink, he couldn’t hold out any longer.

“Ah Wu, my mom, and my little uncle all told me not to reveal the truth.”

They had emphasized many times not to take off his disguise.

“I won’t hurt you,” the chief examiner said gently, pushing the bowl of noodles toward him. “As long as Guan Shan Residence’s children don’t become ungrateful, they will always be protected here.”

The chief examiner’s words echoed something Master had said as well.

The little one glanced at the chief examiner, feeling a bit of trust.

“Alright.”

In fact, he already knew that his secret had been revealed last time, and denying it any further would be pointless. “Big Boss, don’t be afraid.”

The chief examiner raised an eyebrow. “Don’t worry, I’m not afraid.”

After all, what was there to fear from a little fluffball that, at worst, would claw at things when angry?

Taking a deep breath, the little one closed his eyes and transformed into a fluffy creature.

The small, fuzzy bundle exposed its little belly to the chief examiner with a soft “chirp.”

The child’s voice was sweet, carrying a tone of eager-to-please.

The chief examiner wasn’t surprised at all by the sight. He reached out and rubbed the little creature’s soft belly.

“Now that’s a good boy.”

After rubbing his belly, the chief examiner squeezed his tiny paws and then proceeded to pet the little fluffball from head to toe.

This soft little creature was even more satisfying to squeeze than a kitten.

The fluffball obediently allowed the chief examiner to knead and pet him.

After a while, the chief examiner stopped and let him eat his noodles.

It wasn’t easy for the little one to eat noodles with his paws, so he turned back into his human form, sitting on the chair and devouring the noodles and drink.

Before long, his belly was round and full, and he looked utterly content.

“Thank you, Big Boss.”

Having eaten and drunk his fill, the little one politely thanked the chief examiner.

The chief examiner, who had refrained from eating, handed him a piece of paper in response.

It was another bill.

The little one was stunned as he looked at the bill. “I was obedient, so why is there another bill?”

“Take a closer look at the contents,” the chief examiner helpfully reminded him.

Following the reminder, the little one looked further down the bill, and his eyes widened even more.

“Am I… supposed to sell myself to pay off the debt?”

The new bill detailed that if the little one allowed the chief examiner to rub his belly ten more times, it would cover the cost of the scratched curtains. Fifty paw squeezes would pay for the damaged chair.

Besides getting his belly rubbed and paws pinched, the little dumpling also had to perform a dumpling dance for the chief examiner and give him a massage.

The chief examiner, seeing that the little one had finished reviewing the accounts, even knocked on the table to urge, “Little Seven, hurry up and pay off your debt.”

The chief examiner seemed like a ruthless taskmaster, and the poor little one could only turn back into a little dumpling. First, his belly was rubbed, then his paws were pinched, and finally, after being kneaded, he had to jump onto the chief examiner’s back, using his tiny paws to give him a massage.

“Press harder. After eating so much, you don’t have the strength?”

“Ow—careful with those sharp claws, you’re scratching me.”

The chief examiner occasionally made demands, and the little dumpling could only tearfully comply.

While the little dumpling pitifully worked, at the entrance of Guan Shan Residence, Murong Xu and Ling Hao were finally granted permission to enter.
