Chapter 20 Thousand mile Jiaolu Part 5

The heavy rain did not clear until morning, and the sun was shining through the windows.
Yan Changqing closed his eyes tightly and lay motionless on the bed. The long eyelashes cast a faint shadow under his eyelids, making his face appear as pale as snow. If it weren’t for his chest still slowly rising and falling one could assume he was dead.
Helian Jue tilted her head. She studied him carefully for a while, and couldn’t help but say: “He is so good-looking.”
She had already taken off the big black robe that had covered most of her body during the battle on the Jiao Lu River. It revealed a bright brocade dress embroidered with depictions of pomegranates and peony flowers. Her black hair was tied into several small braids. Two of the braids on the sides were wrapped in golden ribbons with a diamond bell that jingled with her movements, the sound crisp and beautiful.
Helian Jue stretched out a white and tender fingertip, bringing it around the bell-wrapped braid, and continued:
“He looks good and is awe-inspiring. No wonder you were beaten by the eighty-odd whips of Big Brother and still couldn’t resist going to save him tonight.”
Helian Jue said this while looking at Helian Rongchuan’s face. She came over and put on a harmless, well-behaved smiling expression:
“Brother Rongchuan, I support you.”
Helian Rongchuan sat at the bedside, his eyes glued to Yan Changqing, who was in a coma. Without looking at her, he coldly said: “Don’t think that if you pour some honey on your words I will spare you.”
Helian Jue’s smile was a little stiff: “Second Brother, you should be rational! He emerged from the bottom of the river, and when he came up, he wanted to risk his life to fight. I, I just…”
Helian Jue said the first half aggressively, then her eyes swept towards Helian Rongchuan.
In the second half of the sentence, her confidence faltered.
Last night, during the raging fire on the Jiaolu river, Helian Rongchuan had an exquisitely murderous expression on when he picked up the unconscious man. She has played with Helian Rongchuan since she was a child, and she had never seen her second brother look like that. For a moment, she was even convinced that Helian Rongchuan wanted to kill her.
Helian Rongchuan gritted his teeth and said viciously: “You just what? You just promised me that you would only rob the ship and not touch a single hair on his head. The result? So many slashes on him. What, did he just throw himself forward to be chopped by you?”
Stab wounds of various sized on Yan Changqing’s body had been carefully covered with white gauze. Because of the excellent hemostatic medicine, the wounds had stopped bleeding, and only faint blood marks appeared on the white gauze. Despite this, Helian Rongchuan felt the incredible ache in his heart.
“Who knew he was so fierce! If not by cutting him a few times, how else can I possibly catch him? I’m afraid I would have been broken myself.” Helian Jue said, feeling a little wronged:
“He also killed so many of my shadow guards, why don’t you take that in? I’m Dongyun’s third princess! I was knocked over by him and was almost cut down by him. Yet, why are you protecting him as soon as you come over? Am I not your sister still?”
Seeing Helian Rongchuan not answering, Helian Jue was even angrier. She could not help but mutter:
“Besides, he has been in a coma for so long, wasn’t it because your anesthesia was too——”
Helian Rongchuan glanced over and Helian Jue immediately shut her mouth, self-preservation kicking in. Her second brother was usually not a serious person, but occasionally when he was serious, he was almost not human. It’s better to clamp down her tail when running into his serious mood.
Yan Changqing frowned slightly as if being bothered by the sound of the words.
Helian Rongchuan was overjoyed. He stretched out his hand and gently rubbed Yan Changqing’s cheek, calling out to him: “Changqing?”
This soft call almost had Helian Jue breaking out with goosebumps. Having lived for 16 years, she had never seen the frivolous Second Prince Dongyun lowering himself like a concubine. Just when she was about to get up to take a look, Helian Rongchuan poked at her nose with a finger.
Helian Jue at the door, following the direction of where the tip of his finger pointed and had no choice but to curl her lips. She shrugged her shoulders, then tiptoed silently, without even a single bell ringing.
Yan Changqing’s eyelashes trembled a few times, then he slowly opened his eyes.
Helian Rongchuan smiled, lowered his head, and said softly:
“Finally awake? Good, I will help you up. Are you hungry? Drink medicine first and eat something later, okay?”
He said that as he went to help Yan Changqing up, but Yan Changqing turned slightly to his side.
Helian Rongchuan was taken aback. With a smile still on his face, he said: “Why aren’t you being good?”
Yan Changqing said nothing, his black and white eyes only looked at him quietly.
“Are you angry?”
Helian Rongchuan said: “You killed so many of our masters, we only hurt you a few times, you are not at a loss right? Why are you still angry?”
Yan Changqing’s chest heaved violently. He lifted the quilt and jumped down. But as soon as he landed on the ground, he suddenly felt top-heavy. As if he was stepping on cotton, his body went down.
Helian Rongchuan seemed to have expected it. He stretched out his hand to catch Yan Changqing’s leg, his back landing against Helian Rongchuan’s chest. The extremely ambiguous posture made Yan Changqing livid. With the wind in his palm, he chopped his hand and slashed out. However, he woke up from an injury and his muscle condition was so bad that Helian Rongchuan took almost no effort to grab both of his wrists into his palms.
“Let go! Get lost!” Yan Changqing roared furiously, struggling violently. The white gauze on his body instantly oozed the bright red liquid.
Helian Rongchuan looked at him as if his heart was being ripped out. He grabbed Yan Changqing’s wrist without daring to exert too much power, for fear that he would tear his wounds again. It took quite a while before he carried Yan Changqing back to the bed.
“I have said that you should drink the medicine first. Look at you, your wounds are open again.”
Yan Changqing stared at Helian Rongchuan’s face silently, wishing to pierce two holes in Helian Rongchuan with his glare.
“You planned it long ago, didn’t you?”
From Yaocheng, no, from the beginning. The man in front of him planned everything. So Da Yan would know their whereabouts and set a trap early. That’s why handing over the temper snow stones went particularly smoothly. It’s because he had already planned for the next move.
Helian Rongchuan touched his chin. Without raising his eyes, he opened his mouth and said, “Yes.”
Yan Changqing took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and continued to ask: “The twenty ships of temper snow stones – how many have you robbed?”
Helian Rongchuan’s eyes did not blink, and he said lightly, “All of them.”
Hearing Helian Rongchuan’s confession, Yan Changqing was taken aback. His heart burst into flames. But when he raised his hand, he was caught by something. It turned out to be an iron lock, which was similar to the one he locked Helian Rongchuan with. It was firmly holding his right hand.
“Helian Rongchuan! How dare you!”
Helian Rongchuan leaned down. Their bodies pressed together so tightly that his face almost touched the tip of Yan Changqing’s nose. He was not afraid that Yan Changqing’s teeth would rattle at this time, and said: “Last night, didn’t you lock me in the same way? What did you mean by saying sorry to me when you were on the boat?
“Did you like me and felt regret so you apologized?”

All is fair in war I suppose~
Please don’t mind but I’ve seen you in a lot of other novels….
I like it when characters have a certain bottom line to their actions, this is make me want to get in there and beat the crap out Helian. (But he’s 2D, and a martial artist. ;-;)
