My Corpse is Bohemian Chapter 106

Chapter 106: Black Lotus Flower

<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>

An Bu, riding the black horse, relentlessly chased from behind, gradually narrowing the distance between her and the girl and her horse. The countdown to death was down to 1 minute; the girl was about to fall from the horse due to losing the reins and crash onto a small hill on the right side, suffering a fatal head injury.

10 meters, 6 meters, 3 meters… An Bu’s black horse caught up from behind, closing the distance to less than half a meter, the horse’s head tightly biting the tail of the other horse. At the same time, the girl’s hands separated from the reins as predicted, and she flew off the horse, screaming, toward the nearby hill. The next second, a black figure pounced, holding her and tumbling several times before coming to a stop.

“Ahhhhh…” Silvia kept screaming with closed eyes.

“It’s okay, stop yelling.” A helpless voice entered her ears.

Silvia slowly opened her eyes and found herself pressing down on a girl. She quickly released her hands, propped herself up, and looked down. The girl beneath her had a pale face, a trickle of blood sliding down her forehead. Her clothes were covered in grass and dirt. It was evident that this girl had just saved her.

“Are you, are you okay?” Silvia asked, still trembling with fear.

“If you could get off me, I think I’d be fine,” An Bu paused, her spine had been broken and was currently undergoing rapid repair.

“Sorry,” Silvia realized she was still sitting on the girl and quickly rolled off to the side.

After a moment, An Bu sat up, wiped the blood off her face, and reminded, “Miss, remember to wear a helmet next time you ride.”

Silvia nodded blankly.

An Bu got up, and apart from a few broken vertebrae, her body was relatively intact.

At this moment, the sound of horse hooves came from nearby. Looking up, they saw several people riding horses approaching. They should be the riding instructors of the equestrian field.

In a short while, the riders stopped in front of them, asking, “Are you two okay? Any injuries?”

“We’re fine, just fell off the horse.” An Bu pointed to Silvia beside her. “This girl’s horse seemed to have lost control just now. Please check it carefully to see if there’s any problem with the horse.”

The riding instructors frowned. “The horses we select for our guests undergo strict training. Unless someone deliberately agitates them, it’s rare for them to lose control.”

“Do you think this accident is my fault?” Silvia exclaimed angrily. “I had just mounted for less than a minute, and it went out of control. Does that horse have a fear of women? Is it stimulated when a woman rides it?”

The instructor said, “…We will investigate this matter thoroughly. Let me have someone take you back to check your injuries first. We’ll discuss any problems later.”

Silvia snorted coldly, about to mount a rider’s horse. Seeing An Bu standing still, she asked, “Aren’t you leaving?”

“I’m not far from the equestrian field, I want to walk back.” An Bu mainly wanted to clean the blood off her face on the way back. She felt that going back with blood on her face might upset someone.

After thinking for a moment, Silvia nodded and said, “I’ll walk with you.”

She let go of the rider’s hand, walked to An Bu’s side, and walked back with her.

The rider didn’t insist. They needed to retrieve the horses that had run away. After a few instructions, they left.

“Hello, I’m Silvia. And you, my hero?” Silvia extended her hand to An Bu.

“Ann.” An Bu reported an English name, shaking hands with her.

“Thank you so much just now.” Silvia sincerely said, “In that situation, even if it were a man, they probably wouldn’t have the courage to jump down and save me.” More importantly, the girl had taken most of the damage for her.

An Bu smiled, “I didn’t think much at that moment. If given another chance, maybe I wouldn’t have been so impulsive.”

“Hahaha, I like you.” Silvia hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. “Tell me, how can I repay you?”

“Just avoid doing dangerous things in the future.” An Bu’s lifespan increased the longer the person she saved lived. The Book of Life and Death would recalculate the person’s fate, resulting in varying life force points. Everyone would encounter accidents in their lives, and no one could guarantee escaping one disaster meant escaping the next. If someone originally had a life expectancy of only 15 years but, thanks to An Bu, lived until 65, she would gain life force points once more. Fifty years of life equated to 150 points.

“I can’t promise that.” Silvia shrugged helplessly, “I’m naturally adventurous.”

An Bu glanced at her, not commenting on it. She, who frequently took risks, had no right to criticize others’ lifestyles.

Arriving at the riverbank, An Bu washed her face, cleaned herself up, then turned to Silvia and said, “If you meet my friend later, don’t tell him we fell off the horse.”

“Oh? Why? Are you afraid he’ll worry?” Silvia looked at her curiously.

An Bu nodded, “Yes.”

“Is your friend a man or a woman? What’s your relationship?” Silvia asked gossipy.

An Bu was about to answer when she suddenly saw a figure running towards them from a distance. In a dim view, that figure seemed like a stream of light, dazzling and brilliant.

An Bu instinctively quickened her pace and walked towards that figure.

Jian Ningxuan rushed over, embracing An Bu as soon as he reached her. His chest heaved violently, emitting intense heat.

An Bu hesitated for a moment, then finally raised her hand, patting his back to comfort him. “I’m fine.”

Jian Ningxuan really wanted to lock her up. Every time he saw her taking risks, he felt anxious and scared, fearing that something unexpected might happen to her. Although he knew she could resurrect, what if she couldn’t next time? He didn’t dare to gamble with her life, only hoping that she could live peacefully.

“Ann, who is this?” Silvia’s voice broke the silence, and she looked at Jian Ningxuan.

“He’s my friend, Mr. Jian.” An Bu introduced, “Mr. Jian, this is Silvia.”

“Hello, nice to meet you.” Silvia extended her hand friendly.

Jian Ningxuan had no good impression of her. He just gave her a cold glance and showed no intention of shaking hands.

Silvia didn’t mind, pulling An Bu to her side and saying softly, “So, this friend of yours is your fiancé, right? I saw the rings on your hands. If I’m not mistaken, they should be the Eyes of Cupid that appeared at the auction not long ago, sold for over 20 million. I didn’t expect your fiancé bought them.”

Her tone carried envy, not because of the 20 million yuan, but because of the precious sentiment attached to it. There were many valuable items at the auction, but this ring symbolizing love was unique. In terms of its intrinsic value, it was actually only worth around eight million yuan. The fact that someone was willing to pay two to three times the price to buy it and give it to their beloved was enough to show how much they valued that person.

“Eyes of Cupid?” An Bu knew that these two rings were valuable, but she didn’t know where they came from.

“Do you not know? These Eyes of Cupid were tokens of affection given by a duke to his wife two hundred years ago. The duke had only one wife in his lifetime, and the two had a deep and enduring love. They stayed together for fifty years and were buried together in the end. It can be said to be very enviable.” Silvia seemed eager to have a genuine love but had not been fortunate enough.

An Bu turned to look at Jian Ningxuan. He gave her a glance that said, “If you want to hold hands, just say it,” and then automatically handed his hand over.

An Bu: “…” Feeling helpless, she handed her hand over to him.

Walking with his poop scooper official, cat master’s expression was peaceful.

Silvia: D*mn it, I just broke up, experienced a life-threatening crisis, and now I’ve been force-fed dog food. Life is simply unbearable!

The three returned to the equestrian field. Silvia’s friends immediately surrounded them, bombarding with questions.

Silvia coldly glanced at them. If they really cared, they would have ridden horses to catch up instead of waiting at the equestrian field for news. She was a straightforward person, liking or disliking someone was clear to her. She didn’t give them a good face and spoke harshly, making the atmosphere a bit awkward.

However, not long after, the riders who went to find the horses had returned. An Bu, with Jian Ningxuan, walked over to check the horse that had just lost control.

The stable veterinarian examined the horse and said, “This horse shows signs of poisoning. I wonder if it ate some toxic forage?”

The caretaker repeatedly waved his hands, “Impossible. I prepare the same forage for all horses. If it’s a forage issue, it can’t be just one horse affected.”

“Maybe accidentally some toxic plants got mixed in. I need to test to determine the specific poison.” The veterinarian did not suspect the caretaker and didn’t believe it was intentional. After all, incidents of horses losing control were not uncommon in equestrian fields.

However, if the stable’s mistake caused harm to guests, the stable would definitely have to compensate. So, as soon as the veterinarian finished speaking, several of Silvia’s friends clamored for a lawyer.

An Bu circled behind the horse in question, her gaze falling on the back near the tail, where a trace of black energy lingered. She was somewhat surprised; it seemed that the Book of Life and Death had gained a new ability. In addition to foreseeing the method of death three minutes in advance, it could now also identify the source of the death. If this horse was truly poisoned, then the toxin must have entered from this position.

She remembered that after Silvia mounted the horse, the brown-haired girl had placed her hand on the horse’s back.

An Bu looked at that girl, who lowered her head. Occasionally, her eyelids lifted, coldly sweeping a glance at Silvia. She then withdrew her gaze, standing meekly beside a blond boy, her face showing a mix of concern and self-blame. The expressions changed naturally, without any flaws.

An Bu: “…”

Is this… encountering a living black lotus?
