My Corpse is Bohemian Chapter 118

Chapter 118: Distant News

<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>

An Bu hasn’t been working part-time lately, focusing on decorating the new house and preparing for the wedding with Jian Ningxuan.

Jian Ningxuan took An Bu to the Jian family when he had time, informed them of the news, and set the wedding date for two months later. The elders of the Jian family all sent gifts and blessings, but Jian Ningxuan refused the gifts from his uncle Ge Liwei and aunt Jian Qiao. Perhaps An Bu had already forgotten, but he still remembered clearly how his cousin Ge Tingting almost caused him to lose his beloved person, something he could never forgive.

Aunt Jian Qiao understood his thoughts, so she simply sent her daughter abroad to avoid any awkward encounters, but even so, their relationship would be difficult to restore to what it was before.

After meeting the Jian family, Jian Ningxuan and An Bu sent wedding invitations to their respective friends, inviting them to attend the wedding.

After a busy period, Jian Ningxuan lost three pounds, but his appetite was better than before. An Bu remained the same, exercising every day, studying cuisine, revising lessons, and designing clothing and ceramics. She planned to make several sets of home clothes and tableware by herself, which could be freely designed, both thoughtful and unique, and also enjoyable.

“Congratulations, Sister An,” Fang Cun received the wedding invitation and immediately called to congratulate her.

“Thank you.” An Bu knew from her diary that Fang Cun was a doctor who had helped her several times before, so she funded the construction of a laboratory for him to express her gratitude.

“To be honest, I’m shocked.” A “thousand-year-old” corpse marrying an ordinary person was simply unimaginable.

“What’s so shocking?”

“No.” Fang Cun’s curiosity flared up again, “Sister An, is your sex life harmonious? Can you have children? Do you feel anything?”

Click! An Bu hung up his phone directly.

But two minutes later, Fang Cun called again: “Sorry, Sister An, I was just too curious, please don’t be mad.”

“Do you have anything else to discuss?”

“Well, the laboratory has been set up, would you like to come over and take a look when you’re free?”

“Send the information to my email, I’ll take a look later.” An Bu wasn’t particularly concerned about this laboratory; she had only built it to satisfy Fang Cun’s research interests. After all, he was just a newly graduated intern doctor, and it was currently difficult for him to support a mature research project in terms of experience or knowledge. But he was quick-witted and enthusiastic about research, coupled with the “∞” symbol on him, she believed he would achieve something in the future.

“Alright, I’ll send it to you later.” Fang Cun then asked, “Oh, by the way, Sister An, does your partner know your identity? Are the pacemaker and fibroids I gave you still working well?”

An Bu replied, “You don’t need to worry about this matter. If needed, I will come to you for help.”

Those two items had been burnt in the fire long ago, and now that she had decided to marry Jian Ningxuan, she didn’t plan to continue the charade.

After hanging up the phone, she saw Jian Ningxuan coming out of the bathroom, sitting beside her in just a pair of pajama pants. An Bu handed him a glass of juice and asked, “Mr. Jian, do you think our sex life is harmonious?”

Jian Ningxuan, with a mouthful of juice, looked at her suspiciously. Was An Bu dissatisfied with his abilities?

An Bu continued, “Do you feel happy?”

Jian Ningxuan: If he wasn’t happy, why would he be so enthusiastic?

“Do you think my reaction is not enthusiastic enough?”

Jian Ningxuan: Not enthusiastic enough? Who’s the one teasing him every day? Who always tries different tricks? With him being such an old hand now, isn’t it all thanks to someone’s expert guidance?

“You’re very enthusiastic.” He answered truthfully.

“It seems you’re very satisfied with me.” An Bu hugged her knees, smiling at him.

“Hmm.” Satisfied everywhere.

“Even if there’s no heartbeat, no breathing, no temperature, do you still feel that way?”

Jian Ningxuan fell silent for a moment, then gently put down the glass in his hand, turned to look at An Bu, and said seriously, “In my eyes, you are more alive than anyone else.”

Unable to taste the sour, sweet, bitter, or spicy, unable to feel warmth or cold, unable to see the colorful world, but she still lived optimistically. From the moment he noticed her anomaly, he had never wavered in his determination. So he didn’t ask, because he didn’t care.

An Bu reached out and embraced him, and the last trace of her worries disappeared.

She didn’t notice that her own stiff heart, for a moment, gently throbbed a few times…

“What? Say that again?”

An Bu was doing exercises in the bedroom when she heard Jian Ningxuan’s phone call and couldn’t help but turn around to glance at him.

“Okay, got it. I’ll go confirm tomorrow. Hmm, that’s it then. Thank you for your hard work.” Jian Ningxuan hung up the phone and looked up at An Bu.

“What’s wrong?” An Bu walked over, curious.

“Molly’s parents have news.”

An Bu was shocked, “What news?”

Jian Ningxuan said in a deep voice, “A few days ago, my people found Molly’s mother’s body in the primitive forest of Great Western Silicon Island. She’s currently being placed in a local hospital morgue.”

“What about Molly’s father?”

“Not found yet.”

An Bu frowned, “How did she die?”

“It’s said she was bitten by a venomous insect and died from poisoning due to delayed treatment. The local police determined it as an accident without filing a case, and they’ll probably notify the embassy soon to have them come and claim the body.”

Although she had been prepared, hearing the news of Molly’s mom’s death still made An Bu feel upset.

“Weren’t they with a research team? What about the others?”

“Currently, only Molly’s mother has been found.”

An Bu looked up, “Mr. Jian…”

Jian Ningxuan seemed to guess what she wanted to say and interrupted, “We’re getting married next month.”

“Just to take a look.” While the body hadn’t been repatriated yet, perhaps she could find some clues through the dead aura.

Jian Ningxuan considered for a moment and said, “I’ll go with you.”

“No, you can’t go.” She could go through the cycle of death and rebirth, but Jian Ningxuan couldn’t.

“Then you shouldn’t go either.” Jian Ningxuan’s tone was resolute.

“You know I’m not afraid of death.”

“You’re not afraid, but I am.”

Seeing his persistence, An Bu changed her approach, “Okay, you can come with me, but in dangerous situations, only I will go, and you’ll be responsible for support and logistics.”

Jian Ningxuan thought for a moment and reluctantly agreed.

He didn’t want to hold An Bu back, but being a divine assist was still acceptable. After all, he couldn’t let her act recklessly.

Emmm… having a wife who’s keen on risking her life, he felt a lot of pressure.
