“I have a deep understanding of that.” Yuwen Chu smiled, pulling her along, “Let’s go in.”
In the independent courtyard, there was a simple gate, and an old man with untidy clothes stood at the entrance, with a stern face, looking unpleasant. When Mingzhu and the others approached, they were stopped by the old man. Su Lan was surprised, and Wei Tiande was very arrogant, “Do you know who we are?”
The old man didn’t speak, just looked at Yuwen Chu with strange eyes. Yuwen Chu was very polite and bowed to the old man, saying, “Sir, please inform that I’ve brought my family to visit.”
Surprisingly, the old man accepted this gesture arrogantly and turned to go inside to inform.
Everyone was stunned. Mingzhu stared at the old man’s back and whispered to Yuwen Chu, “Sir? Just by looking at him, I want to punch him.”
Yuwen Chu chuckled, “I’ll definitely give you the chance, as long as you’re not afraid of hurting your hand.”
The old man came out, his tone very unfriendly, “My master invites you two in. Our place is small, we can’t accommodate so many people, so the rest can wait outside.”
It means only Yuwen Chu and Mingzhu are allowed to enter, and no one else is permitted.
Su Lan and Wei Tiande didn’t agree. They were specifically here to accompany these two, and it was hard to imagine what would happen if they didn’t follow them in. Yuwen Chu, however, said patiently, “Since that’s the case, you two stay outside.” With that, he led Mingzhu down the path paved with broken tiles and bricks.
Mingzhu looked around curiously, but after a while, she began to frown, “So ugly.” There were no flowers or plants in the courtyard, only an old locust tree that looked like it had been struck by lightning on one side, half dry and scorched. The owner hadn’t even bothered to trim it, making it look really ugly.
