Rebirth in the Apocalypse: The Peach Blossom Debt Chapter 33

Where did this pretty little boy suddenly come from? And to think he had assumed the other’s cold attitude meant he would refuse, turns out he was actually a clingy little mutt. Completely lacking in awareness, this brat who didn’t know his place at all.

Back seat.

Actually, Qi Yue had wanted to sit in the front passenger seat. He hadn’t seen Lin Yuze in so many years and missed him dearly. But Han Fei forcefully dragged him into the back. D*mn it, he couldn’t break free. That brute from the underworld had too much strength, leaving him no choice but to sit in the back.

And he still had the nerve to worry about him looking at another man? Much less at some baby-faced boy who hadn’t even fully grown up.

One becomes red by being near cinnabar, and black by being near ink. Han Fei hadn’t even noticed that ever since meeting Qi Yue, he had gradually become more expressive and childish like him.

Han Fei pulled Qi Yue over. He grabbed his face, which was eagerly leaning forward trying to speak to the person in front, and turned it back. Then he leaned in and kissed him deeply, his tongue pushing against Qi Yue’s lips, prying open his teeth and sliding in, tangling with his tongue, sucking hard, passionate and fierce, occasionally thrusting deep into Qi Yue’s throat. He pressed him down against the car seat, hands roaming everywhere, one kneading Qi Yue’s lifted butt, the other sliding into his shirt.

Qi Yue’s mouth was blocked so he couldn’t speak, and anger flared in his chest. He reached down and harshly grabbed the part of Han Fei that was pressing insistently against him.

“Mm…!” Han Fei trembled violently, letting out a grunt. He had only meant to punish him a little, but ended up stoking his own fire even worse.

At this rate, he’d get destroyed by Qi Yue sooner or later.

Qi Yue finally gasped for breath, face flushed red, taking a long moment before he could breathe steadily again. After being messed with by Han Fei like that, he’d completely forgotten what he had wanted to do earlier. Annoyed, he leaned back in his seat and turned his head to stare out the window.

He didn’t really feel ashamed, just angry. Han Fei was always pressing down on him, and the man was just too strong.

Satisfied, Han Fei pulled out the level-three crystal core he had dug out of the zombie dog earlier and stretched his arm out to hand it to the driver’s seat. He couldn’t deny that the guy had helped them a lot. But business was business, Qi Yue was his. Even if Qi Yue acted warm toward that pretty boy and seemed to know him, that boy clearly didn’t recognize Qi Yue.

“Han Fei.”

What had that scene just now been? A warning to him? That the beautiful youth was his?

Lin Yuze accepted the crystal core and put it in his pocket.

“Lin Yuze.” It counted as a proper introduction between them.

Qi Yue also turned his head.

“Qi Yue,” he said to Lin Yuze, eyes smiling.

Sensing his genuine happiness, Lin Yuze also smiled. His spiritual sense could tell the emotion was sincere.

Han Fei took a drag of his cigarette, irritated. This newcomer really didn’t know his place.

Seeing Han Fei smoking, Qi Yue’s craving kicked in. Without thinking, he leaned over and reached into Han Fei’s arms to grab a cigarette. Han Fei quite enjoyed the feeling of Qi Yue’s hands sliding over him.

Qi Yue held the cigarette between his lips, leaned toward Han Fei’s mouth, pinching his own cigarette and touching it to Han Fei’s to light it. Then he leaned back, closed his eyes, took a deep inhale, and exhaled.

He didn’t mind at all. He and Han Fei had already been intimate, and he enjoyed kissing him.

Both men watching him had their own thoughts.

Han Fei looked at Qi Yue’s lazy, seductive posture and tensed up again. He choked on smoke, coughing for a long moment before recovering. Then he also took a harsh drag, opened the window, and flicked the cigarette out. His once-proud self-control was getting worse and worse.

Lin Yuze’s calm eyes flashed deep meaning as he watched Qi Yue through the rearview mirror. This beautiful youth, his smoking posture was truly enticing, dripping with charm.

Qi Yue leaned back, smoking one drag after another. He hadn’t smoked in a long time and was indulging fully, completely unaware of the two men beside him eyeing him.

“How do you know my name?” Lin Yuze asked from the mirror, voicing his question.

Han Fei also looked at Qi Yue, he wanted to know too. Lin Yuze’s question confirmed his suspicion: if the guy didn’t know Qi Yue, then how did Qi Yue know his name? And why did he react like that earlier? Did Qi Yue used to have a crush on this little pretty boy? The thought darkened Han Fei’s expression. He wanted to hear how Qi Yue would explain himself.

“I forgot,” Qi Yue said.

Ah… such a lousy excuse. But he couldn’t exactly tell them the truth about his bizarre reincarnations. He didn’t even fully understand why he kept dying and reliving over and over. And if he said it out loud, the two men next to him would think he was crazy.

Lin Yuze raised an eyebrow. He was definitely making excuses. Lin Yuze was older than him; when he was young, Qi Yue would’ve been even younger. The excuse was terrible. But he didn’t keep asking, clearly Qi Yue didn’t want to talk about it.

Seeing Lin Yuze drop the subject, Qi Yue secretly sighed in relief.

They continued on the original route instead of taking the small road that Liao Feifan’s group chose. Lin Yuze had no objections. Either route was fine. Rural roads had fewer zombies, but not always.

They casually ate lunch in the car. Occasionally, other vehicles drove past, all kinds of models, everyone hurrying to find their own safe bases.

In the afternoon, the car pulled into a gas station. After killing the zombies wandering around the pumps, they lucked out, the machines still had fuel, and a nearby tanker also had more than half a load. Han Fei waved his hand and stored their car into his space ability, not hiding it from Lin Yuze. This Lin Yuze was different from the scavengers at the cold storage. Han Fei had a gut feeling the guy had no bad intentions. If he had, Han Fei would’ve never agreed when Qi Yue invited him. And even if he was wrong, Han Fei wasn’t afraid. He relied on strength. If he died someday, that’d just be bad luck, but he’d never bow his head. The only person he’d ever submit to was his cousin.

As expected, Lin Yuze stayed expressionless, as though he hadn’t even seen the car disappear. Not surprised at all. Other than a few words with Qi Yue, he hadn’t spoken much during the entire drive. Han Fei found him frustrating, if he hadn’t heard him speak earlier, he’d think the guy was mute.

Qi Yue, not understanding Han Fei’s thoughts, kept sticking close to Lin Yuze. After all these years, he had never forgotten him. When he was living lost and hopeless in his past life, Lin Yuze had been his only light. He lived only to find him; otherwise, life had felt meaningless. Every life was painful, lacking purpose, just drifting. Now… he had finally found him again.

To Qi Yue, Lin Yuze had always been like this: quiet, not talkative. Even in that past life, he seldom spoke, just silently watched over him. Qi Yue wasn’t any different, he barely had friends and rarely interacted with others. Their silence had matched perfectly.

Inside the gas station, they found fuel containers and filled everything. They also discovered a solar generator. Han Fei said he already had one in his space, but more supplies were always welcome.

As usual, Qi Yue’s first instinct was to check the kitchen. He happily found a basin-style grill pot. Ever since the apocalypse began, he had developed a love for cooking. He didn’t have much practice, but he enjoyed making food for others.

Sleeping outdoors was dangerous, you could be killed by zombies, mutated animals, or eventually freeze to death. This strange weather would last two more months before returning to normal.

They followed the usual routine, turning into a nearby residential area and clearing several houses. With Lin Yuze helping, they cleared the zombies much faster. They picked a clean home to spend the night.

Qi Yue was responsible for cooking. Han Fei took out vegetables and meat from his space and sat on the sofa absorbing the crystal core. Once he finished absorbing this level-three core from the cold storage, he would reach mid-level three.

Lin Yuze stood by the window, watching the surroundings, guarding the house. Qi Yue threaded the seafood they collected earlier onto skewers. Tonight he would use the little grill pot they found at the supermarket to make barbecue skewers. They’d eat steamed buns and see if his ability triggered anything new. At night, he also needed to cook more to raise the proficiency of his strange ability. He wondered what his level-two ability would be, would it come with something else bizarre?

After a long while, Han Fei finished absorbing and successfully advanced to level three. He gestured for Lin Yuze to absorb a crystal core as well. Lin Yuze nodded. The two strongest guarded the house.

Lin Yuze watched Qi Yue focus intently on threading the skewers: so cute, so earnest. Nobody had ever cooked for him before. His mood lifted.

Han Fei, however, watched from the sofa and felt a surge of irritation. The last time Qi Yue had cooked for him was the first time they met and there were many unrelated people sharing the food then. It hadn’t been prepared just for him, nor had it been this plentiful.

The more he thought about it, the more annoyed he became. He probably hadn’t relieved himself in too long that’s why his temper was growing. That eyesore of a silent little pretty boy, it was all because of him!

The scene looked warm and peaceful.

But appearances are only appearances.
