Chapter 97 Successful infiltration

Lin Zhaohe didn’t need to study the exact amount of explosives required for the tall building with over ten floors. He didn’t aim for precise and non-destructive blasting techniques. Instead, he quickly identified the load-bearing walls of the building and covered them with numerous 2D bombs. These bombs were very powerful. Yun Yuzi warned him to handle them carefully, as they could harm him too. Lin Zhaohe wondered if bringing them along was unnecessary, but now he realized their usefulness.
The collapse of the building concealed the sound of Lin Yan digging a hole. The blown-up high-rise building fell diagonally, heading directly towards the camp where the server was hidden.
Lin Zhaohe hadn’t expected this stroke of luck. He couldn’t control the direction of the building’s fall. If it fell towards the server’s location, it would have been the best outcome since the people in the base wouldn’t have paid attention to Lin Yan’s actions.
As anticipated, the massive high-rise building began to collapse. Among the swirling dust, a few figures rushed towards it. Lin Zhaohe watched as they placed shining rings on the building, gradually adding more. The building’s collapse slowed down suddenly, culminating in a blinding flash of light. The tall building of several floors turned into sparkling starlight within the rings of light before his eyes.
Lin Zhaohe watched the scene but only paused briefly. He had expected someone to come to the rescue, so he smiled and pressed the switch in his hand.
In the next moment, another nearby building also exploded.
It was simple to destroy three-dimensional structures using weapons from the second dimension. The equipment defied the laws of physics and effortlessly tore the world apart.
Explosions occurred one after another, like fireworks in the sky, filling the air with the smell of gunpowder. Protecting something was always more difficult than destroying it.
In the ruined city, there was no need to worry about innocent people being affected. Lin Zhaohe used up all the explosives in his bag, putting on a fireworks show in the city center.
The base’s inhabitants were overwhelmed by the explosions. Although not every explosion caused a building to collapse, they had to search each one meticulously to ensure it didn’t lean towards the base. Lin Zhaohe also caught sight of the shadowy figures: small spirits with transparent wings emitting beautiful light. They moved incredibly fast, resembling fleeting shadows. The rings of light they used could trap objects inside them, transforming them into shimmering halos.
Lin Zhaohe, standing in the corner, was unsurprisingly spotted by them.
The spirits flew towards Lin Zhaohe, flapping their wings. Before Lin Zhaohe could react, the rings of light used to demolish buildings ensnared him.
At first glance, the rings seemed harmless, but as soon as they touched his skin, Lin Zhaohe felt intense pain. The agony didn’t come from his skin’s surface but deep within his soul. With just a slight touch, Lin Zhaohe was overwhelmed by excruciating darkness.
The little spirits didn’t seem as friendly as their appearance suggested. Lin Zhaohe shouted, “Yellow Banana Girl Transformation!” Taking advantage of the invincible time during the transformation, he managed to escape from inside the rings of light.
Now wearing a yellow skirt, Lin Zhaohe’s combat power instantly doubled. Several skillful beams of freezing light shot out, turning the airborne little spirits into blocks of ice.
Other guards closed in on him, but Lin Zhaohe had no intention of confronting them head-on. He turned around and ran.
Gunshots echoed along with shouts as a group of people chased each other through the dilapidated street.
“Got him! We hit him!” exclaimed one of the guards, filled with surprise. But their surprise quickly turned to astonishment. “Is this guy wearing a bulletproof vest?”
“Aim for the head!” someone suggested.
This time, their target was the head. However, everyone watched in disbelief as the bullets aimed at the sprinting little yellow figure were forcibly deflected…
“What’s on top of his head?” The guards were going crazy, wondering which dimension this lunatic emerged from. Not only had he caused chaos in the vicinity with explosions, but he also turned out to be bulletproof.
“Maybe we should try using a ray gun…” Others were running out of options.
It turned out that in the world of the second dimension, they needed second-dimensional tools. The ray gun proved to be quite effective. A beam of laser scorched the edge of the little yellow person’s skirt.
“It works!” exclaimed one of the guards. “Shoot him in the head… Why did he stop?” They had been chasing each other, but suddenly the person in front came to a halt, leaving them momentarily bewildered.
Lin Zhaohe’s banana on his head got shot and turned into a mess. This crossed his limit. People could get hurt, but the banana on his head was off-limits. An inexplicable anger filled Lin Zhaohe’s heart as he clenched his magic wand, expressionless, and turned his head.
“Where did he come from?” The guards caught sight of Lin Zhaohe’s face and whispered to each other, “Why does he look like a magical girl…”
“No, something about him seems familiar,” one of them said. “I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere before. Oh! I remember now! I saw his transformation on a forum. His name is… Lin…”
With a loud “thud,” a stick flew straight into his head, hitting his temple and interrupting his words. Everyone was stunned by the scene, watching Lin Zhaohe maintain his throwing posture. They didn’t know how to react.
What was this? A physical attack from a magical girl?
Lin Zhaohe couldn’t care less about the distinction between magical and physical attacks. He remembered his video being circulated online before. If he was recognized, he would be completely finished. Taking a deep breath, he said coldly, “Since you’ve all seen it…” He reached out his hand, and the magic wand he had thrown came back into his grasp. The wand was stained with blood, giving off an unsettling vibe.
Others clearly felt the same unease and quickly unleashed a barrage of ammunition at Lin Zhaohe. However, he was well-prepared. His magic wand spun, forming a bright shield.
After being a magical girl for so long, Lin Zhaohe had mastered the techniques. He advanced step by step toward the people chasing him, hiding his true identity. The expression on his face became extremely grim.
The pursuing individuals stood there dumbfounded, witnessing the scene before them. Although they couldn’t recognize the man in the yellow skirt from any specific work, his overwhelming presence left them breathless. Despite his childlike appearance, the bloodstains on his wand unsettled them.
Several people were intimidated by Lin Zhaohe, who steadily advanced toward them with the shield.
Lin Zhaohe said, “Very well.”
Bullets eventually came to a halt, and during the moment when the group was reloading, Lin Zhaohe seized the opportunity. With a wave of his hand, banana-shaped beams shot out from his wand, effortlessly knocking them all to the ground.
The bananas transformed into ropes, securely binding the group. Lin Zhaohe approached them, pointing his wand at their heads and said, “Recognize me, don’t you?”
Those individuals didn’t dare admit they recognized him and shook their heads, claiming they had no idea.
With gentleness, Lin Zhaohe said, “It’s okay. Whether you know or not, you’ll definitely forget soon.” After his words, he raised his wand.
The group thought they were about to receive a blow to their heads, and their eyes widened in terror. Fortunately, what followed wasn’t a physical erasure of memories but rather magic. Lin Zhaohe cast the Oblivion Curse, causing them to forget the scenes they had witnessed in the short time—another essential skill for a magical girl. Otherwise, if they kept making a scene every day, they would surely be remembered by people.
Under the fearful gazes of the group, Lin Zhaohe cast the Oblivion Curse, rendering them unconscious. He glanced at the time.
Half an hour had passed since he initiated the riot. According to his agreement with Lin Yan, the tunnel had been dug almost to completion.
Inside the base, people were still investigating the remaining bombs, too preoccupied to pay attention to him. He retraced his steps and returned to Lin Yan’s room, where he opened the door only to find a large hole on the floor.
Lin Zhaohe messaged Lin Yan, inquiring about the situation.
Lin Yan instructed him to come through the tunnel. He was currently at the lowest point in the server room, just one step away from completing the task.
“Alright,” Lin Zhaohe replied. He bent down, following the tunnel ahead. After crawling for about eight or nine minutes, he finally spotted Lin Yan sitting at the end of the tunnel.
Lin Yan held a circular drilling device in his hand. With such a machine, they could navigate underground like moles without any obstacles.
Upon seeing Lin Zhaohe, Lin Yan pointed upward.
“Right up there?” asked Lin Zhaohe.
“Yes,” Lin Yan replied, “there is a significant amount of electronic data transmission within these server walls.” He gestured to a round meter in his hand, its pointers spinning wildly.
“They’ve employed a special treatment on the ground,” explained Lin Yan. “We can’t reach it with this machine. We’ll need another approach.”
“What approach?” Lin Zhaohe inquired. “Would bombs work?”
Lin Yan glanced at him in astonishment. “Why are you so violent?” His gaze seemed to condemn Lin Zhaohe for suggesting such a malicious method.
Lin Zhaohe became furious, pointing his finger at Lin Yan’s face and scolding, “Don’t pretend to be righteous here. We’re already here, and the target that needs destruction is right above our heads. Are we supposed to find a peaceful way to enter and then resort to violence to destroy the server?”
Lin Yan felt that Lin Zhaohe made a valid point.
Unwilling to engage in further discussion with Lin Yan, Lin Zhaohe immediately retrieved the remaining bombs. Lin Yan, seeing his determined expression, quickly intervened, suggesting that with so many explosives, they should ensure they’re a step ahead before detonating the floor above their heads.
Lin Zhaohe, wearing a skirt, squatted on the ground, his face expressionless. “So what should we do?”
Lin Yan: “I have a special substance…”
Lin Zhaohe: “Then let’s use it quickly.”
Lin Yan: “You didn’t inform Zhuang Lao that you came to find me, did you?”
Lin Zhaohe: “Of course not.”
Lin Yan hesitated for a moment, then patted his shoulder. “You’re something else.”
Lin Zhaohe raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
Lin Yan’s substance was highly unique. Although referred to as bombs, it was actually a corrosive liquid with active properties. Within two minutes, the floor above their heads silently corroded into a massive hole. Lin Yan went through the opening, and Lin Zhaohe followed closely behind.
Just as they stepped outside, a piercing alarm sounded. However, it was already too late. Just a few meters away, Lin Zhaohe spotted a uniquely shaped machine surrounded by numerous thick cables, indicating its identity. Seeing this, Lin Zhaohe felt elated and immediately rushed toward it.
Lin Yan took a more direct approach, firing shots at the server. The bullets struck the surface, but surprisingly, didn’t penetrate. Instead, it was Lin Zhaohe who shouted loudly and forcefully slammed his own magic wand onto it. With a loud thud, a dramatic crack appeared on the glass barrier covering the server’s surface.
Lin Yan gazed at the crack and inexplicably felt a dull pain in his chest, as if it were his own self being struck…
Lin Zhaohe spat and complained about how stubborn the thing was. He wanted to continue his efforts, but just then, the door in front of them opened with a clang. Several heavily armed individuals stormed in, and at the same time, the defense system activated. A red laser grid instantly enveloped the entire room, threatening to slice both him and Lin Yan into pieces.
