After crashing to the ground, both dogs let out a painful cry.
But almost immediately, General stood up again.
Tian Baoci frowned. “General, kill it! Tear it apart!”
General planted his forepaws firmly, his back arched like a leopard ready to pounce.
But the spotted dog didn’t hesitate in the slightest—after getting up from the ground, it let out a howl and lunged straight for General, clamping down hard on General’s tail.
General screamed in pain and thrashed wildly, barking like mad, trying to spin around and bite back.
But it was no use—the spotted dog had chosen such a tricky angle that even with all its contortions, General couldn’t reach it. Its hind legs kicked and flailed uselessly.
And even as its hind legs repeatedly slammed into the spotted dog’s head and face, the spotted dog held on with a death grip, refusing to let go no matter what.
It bit down again and again—every time it got a hold of flesh, it clamped harder. No one knew how much time passed before it finally bit off General’s tail entirely.
General let out a strange, eerie howl of pain.
And right after that, just as General tried to flee, the spotted dog pounced again—this time sinking its teeth into General’s backside.
The scene was too bloody. Flesh and blood flew in every direction.
Some of the more delicate girls had already fainted in fright.
What was there to enjoy in this?
Was this how Tian Baoci had always fought dogs?
Watching them tear into each other like this—how could anyone find this fun?
Qi Zhen was stunned, mouth open in disbelief. “Where on earth did Ah Yuan find that thing?”
No wonder she’d been so sure, refusing any help and not letting them look for a dog.
So she really had prepared all along?
The spotted dog bit relentlessly, never letting go. Though General was large and powerful, all it could do now was struggle helplessly.
At this rate, General was doomed to lose.
Even Tian Baoci’s gang of spoiled rich friends were dazed—none of them had expected such a hideous dog to be this ferocious.
In the crowd, Feng Caiwei couldn’t help but frown.
Even though she knew she’d benefit regardless of who won, she couldn’t be happy seeing Qi Yuan looking so smug.
Why was it that Qi Yuan always won, no matter what she did?
Tian Baoci finally couldn’t take it anymore—he grabbed a stick and slammed it down on the spotted dog’s head.
Qi Yuan immediately raised her voice: “Sixth Young Master Tian, this is a dogfight. What’s this? Can’t handle losing?”
Xiang Jie also shouted, “That’s right! If you wager, you have to accept the outcome. How can you interfere like this?!”
But Tian Baoci didn’t care.
General was the product of years of meticulous care and training. It had won him countless matches. It was the embodiment of all his pride.
But even as he struck the spotted dog hard, it was useless.
The dog just kept biting, unshaken, relentless.
Tian Baoci’s heart sank.
He had raised dogs for years—he had seen all kinds. He knew how dangerous this kind of dog was.
Most dogs, when under threat, would instinctively tuck their tails and release their prey.
But this kind…
This kind wouldn’t let go until the target was dead.
Tian Baoci was beside himself with rage. Seeing General howling in pain, blood pouring from its lower body, he shouted furiously at Qi Yuan: “You b*tch! Make your dog let go!”
Qi Yuan was honestly amused by how shamelessly entitled he sounded and couldn’t help retorting, “Sixth Young Master Tian, why are you saying something so disgraceful? In a dogfight, isn’t life and death part of the deal? You’re losing, and now you want to cheat?”
Qi Zhen couldn’t help feeling a surge of delight. He almost burst out laughing.
Excellent.
That was his daughter, through and through.
He’d always known Qi Yuan would never let her enemies have an easy time.
Tian Baoci was utterly enraged. He swung the stick furiously at Qi Yuan: “I’ll kill you!”
Qi Yuan’s face remained calm. She flicked her foot, sending a stone flying straight at Tian Baoci’s head. It hit him hard, and with a scream, he tumbled to the ground in a heavy fall.
Qi Yuan’s movement had been lightning-fast, and since she’d kicked the stone from behind the dog, no one even saw what happened—only that Tian Baoci had been yelling about killing her, and then suddenly fell flat on his face.
At that moment, the spotted dog finally let go of General, turned its head, and locked eyes on the fallen Tian Baoci.
Then—it lunged.
Everyone was stunned and cried out in shock.
Tian Baoci’s group of arrogant friends were completely terrified. They’d just watched this dog tear apart General—it was brutal.
Dear heavens—if it bit Tian Baoci, wouldn’t that mean half his life was gone?
Fortunately, the servants of Duke Chengen’s estate reacted quickly, dragging the bleeding Tian Baoci away in a panic.
But that only made things worse.
Because the spotted dog chased after them without hesitation.
The servants beat it with sticks, but it didn’t care!
No matter how hard or how many times it was hit, the spotted dog was unfazed—fixated on its prey with deadly intent.
Eventually, one of the young noble brats broke down in tears: “What kind of devil dog is this?! Help!”
Tian Baoci’s forehead was still bleeding, but he didn’t care anymore.
He was furious.
That mad dog!
That d*mn Qi Yuan!
He was so enraged he shouted, “Release the dogs! Let them all out! I want her torn to shreds!”
His attendants hesitated in panic: “Sixth Young Master, we can’t do that…”
There were layers of spectators all around—if the dogs were released, who knew how many would be injured?
But Tian Baoci kicked the man aside and whistled sharply.
As if answering his call, a surge of barking erupted in the distance—one bark after another, shaking the ground.
The faces of the onlookers turned ghostly white.
My god—how many dogs are there?!
Xiang Jie instinctively shielded Xiang Rong and said decisively, “Go! We can’t stay here—it’s not safe!”
Qi Zhen and the Old Marquis Qi were caught in the crowd too. Hearing the barking, they felt their hearts jolt in fear.
“Everyone knows Tian Baoci loves dogs, but this… this is terrifying.”
From the sound of it, there had to be hundreds of dogs.
The money he must’ve spent raising them…
Just as that thought formed, someone suddenly screamed in horror: “So many—so many dogs! They’re all coming out!”
Then everyone saw it.
From a low house near the garden, dog after dog burst out, a dark, heaving mass racing forward in a chaotic stampede.
Dear heavens! It was like a nest of h*llhounds had just been unleashed!
