The Cutest in the Galaxy Chapter 104

Cyril left under the care of Su Cha and Ji Tianjin. Su Cha still anxiously reminded him a couple of times before he left. Xie Rongjue’s expression was hard to read: “What problems could he possibly have?”

If there were problems, it would be someone else’s fault.

Su Cha frowned: “The instability of the wormhole poses a very high danger.”

Xie Rongjue reminded him, “Don’t forget the racial spatial aptitude.”

Even if something unexpected happened, Cyril could escape unharmed.

Su Cha rubbed his hands: “I’m still worried he’ll risk himself rescuing others.”

“…” With your concern, just shut up.

The wormhole.

Outside the entrance of the passage, Cyril skillfully sensed the frenzy of energy particles inside, preparing to wait until this storm calmed before trying to enter.

In stark contrast to his calm, several high-ranking figures trapped inside the wormhole on different planets were near madness. They were trapped inside a wormhole that could normally instantly span tens of billions of light years.

The nearby space was riddled with holes, and the entire dark passage was like a high-speed blender. Their warships collided wildly inside, with large wings and small parts flying everywhere.

“Quick, leave the warship first!”

Inside the wormhole, they had to consume multiplied spirit energy to maintain bodily functions, but now they had no choice.

The power system was damaged; the only way out was to force open the door. One of them finally kicked open the heavy hatch and stepped out of the warship — a dark shadow flashed, and a bloody mark instantly appeared on his neck.

If his reaction had been any slower, his carotid artery would have been completely severed.

“Assassin!”

The others who came out immediately went on alert, confirming what they suspected: today’s incident was no accident.

They had felt something was wrong before. Over the past years, many tests were conducted on the wormhole. Although unstable, it was never this severe.

The space was torn apart in fragments. The Shiyuan clan had also expended great effort. Their advantage as death warriors was never considering retreat; when exhausted, they would launch suicide attacks.

No training was needed for this — even before brainwashing, the Shiyuan clan often used this method to bring others down with them.

The overlapping spaces crushed everything. The chests of several high-ranking figures were nearly flattened like paper, unable to maintain a normal heartbeat. The most skeptical interstellar beings, suddenly, began calling on the gods of the universe for salvation.

Their prayers went unanswered.

The Shiyuan clan’s self-explosions caused terrifying whirlwinds of airflows; some people’s arms were shredded on the spot.

Prayers turned to curses, cursing those who arranged the assassination to die miserable deaths.

By the time the third Shiyuan clan member self-detonated, everyone had no strength left to evade. The airflow vortex swept through rapidly. One second before being swallowed, a faint light appeared in the dark wormhole; a hand gently pushed the vortex in the opposite direction, and several people were pushed into another dimension.

An angel?

At that moment, they felt warmth.

While they were dazed, a cold voice sounded: “Control your spirit energy. If anyone loses control, I will strike decisively.”

Safely brought from another dimensional space to the wormhole exit, the high-ranking figures finally accepted that it was Cyril who saved them. Not only did he save them, but he also captured a Shiyuan clan member.

To prevent suicide, Cyril knocked the person unconscious with telekinesis. After removing the headgear, the assassin’s tattoo near the eye was striking.

“Shiyuan clan.” A high-ranking figure holding a wound walked over. After close observation, he shook his head: “It wasn’t the Shiyuan clan’s doing.”

There were burn marks from electric currents on the temple, and the build was not naturally tall like Shiyuan clan members. It seemed they had undergone harsh training, exuding a sickly aura.

This was a specially trained assassin.

…The Federation President.

Those words suddenly appeared in their minds. Normally, they wouldn’t even consider it, but they had previously received anonymous tip-offs that the Federation President was using the Shiyuan clan to disrupt the competition — likely repeating old tricks.

At this thought, the high-ranking figures’ faces darkened extremely.

When they relaxed, their wounds hurt even more.

Cyril said, “Back to the warship first.”

“Thank you.” The bleeding couldn’t be stopped for the moment. Without Cyril’s telekinetic barrier, they would have died in space.

After boarding the warship, they finally felt much better. The next moment, when they saw Xie Rongjue, they exchanged glances.

How could an important official of the Galan Empire be on the same warship as Fog Star people?

As if reading their doubts, Su Cha voluntarily explained: “We were also ambushed. The Galan Empire arrived just in time.”

His words were much more credible than Cyril’s, because even in critical condition, high-ranking figures could tell if someone was lying.

Everything Su Cha said was true, referring to the Flower Demon Clan’s being surrounded. To these people, it only confirmed even more that it was the Federation’s conspiracy.

At this moment, Cyril glanced at the unconscious Shiyuan clan member on the floor: “Once he wakes, interrogate him, and we’ll know the mastermind.”

His cold expression suddenly twisted into a faint smile — shallow but extremely sarcastic: “But I think that won’t be necessary.”

He spoke plainly: “The Federation must pay a price.”

Knowing the hint, the rescued ones’ eyes flickered, avoiding a direct response.

Earlier in the wormhole, they had thought of thousands of ways to kill the mastermind. Now calm again, they began reconsidering. The Federation had provoked Fog Star first; Cyril would never let that slide. Even if they did nothing, the Federation wouldn’t get away with it.

Might as well use this as leverage to demand concessions from the Federation.

“Let’s treat the wounds first.”

Su Cha looked at them with concern, releasing his spirit form. The lotus magnolia dispersed into millions of little flowers, calming everyone. His spirit form’s healing ability was no longer a secret, so no one found it strange.

Only when a tightly wrapped person was brought out did they start feeling something was off.

“He’s a medic,” Su Cha casually assigned this identity to the gu master.

The ruler of Dongling Star glanced at the “medic” and then looked down at the Shiyuan tribesman lying on the ground.

What medic is wrapped up tighter than an assassin?

Sensing something was wrong, knowing he wasn’t a match in his severely injured state, the Dongling Star ruler set his sights on Su Cha, intending to use him as leverage to keep a way out.

He quietly stepped closer by two paces, pretending to cooperate with the treatment, then suddenly struck.

The injuries had slowed the Dongling Star ruler’s speed. Su Cha sighed and took a step back: “I treat others kindly, but why does the world always want to repay me with pain?”

Before the ruler could get close, Xie Rongjue blocked him. Ji Tianjin pulled Su Cha aside, speaking softly to soothe him: “You’re frightened. Blame him for wasting your kindness.”

Su Cha lowered his head further and after a long pause sighed: “Repaying kindness with ingratitude—this world… has gone bad.”

Seeing this, Xie Rongjue also wanted to ask: what kind of world is this?

They all truly felt sorrow over this.

There was a more heartfelt truth: The Dongling Star ruler’s attempted sneak attack had crossed a line for Cyril. Now, Cyril didn’t even bother with appearances; when suppressing the high-rankers with telekinesis, he used much harsher force than when dealing with the elder, enough to cause irreversible brain damage.

“Go.” He ordered the Gu master.

With Xie Rongjue already present, the Gu master was very afraid; now with Cyril added, they dared not delay and hurriedly came over to release the Gu.

“What are you… doing?”

His will gradually dissipating, the Dongling Star ruler vaguely saw something crawling into his wound.

There was once a glorious era for Gu masters when they could control others’ wills through Gu insects. That method long vanished in the river of history; now, only the unbearable pain of thousands of insects gnawing at one’s heart could force submission.

But that was enough.

When they regained consciousness, before they could utter a curse, the Gu master blew a strange crescent-shaped instrument. The pain spreading from their chests was ten thousand times stronger than what they endured in the wormhole.

Compared to Su Yeling’s type, people of the interstellar era were much tougher.

Realizing Cyril might try to control them to interfere with another country’s regime, their first reaction was to self-destruct their brain cores.

“I have no interest in your small patch of land,” Cyril said expressionlessly, “but someone must die.”

Destroying the Federation was unrealistic. The Federation was an alliance of multiple powers, and there were plenty of internal conflicts. The president held the highest authority; killing him was exceedingly difficult.

Unless…

The Dongling Star ruler was the first to speak: “You want us to send troops to force the Federation to abolish and hand over the current president.”

Cyril casually tossed aside the photo of the Federation president and countered, “Colluding with the Shiyuan tribe — isn’t that reason enough to send troops?”

Everyone fell silent.

Previously, they had wanted to use Fog Star’s momentum to quietly demand benefits from the Federation. Now it was reversed: their side would use military force, and Fog Star would negotiate.

The lingering pain from the Gu insect’s bite remained. Someone closed their eyes: “What if you betray us afterward…”

Cyril’s patience was exhausted today; he interrupted sharply: “You better cooperate voluntarily.”

Dying isn’t an easy thing either. He had ways to make them bow, at worst it would just be a bit troublesome.

The air was nearly suffocating; several high-rankers weighed their options, lips tightly sealed.

Inside the cabin, only Ji Tianjin’s voice could be heard soothing Su Cha:

“We only need to hold our own bottom line.”

“Don’t be influenced by those who use dirty tricks and go with the flow.”

Every word pierced like an eardrum; the Dongling Star ruler’s nerves, already injured, now felt like they would explode. He said to Cyril: “I hope you keep your promise. Otherwise, even if we die, we will do everything we can to make Fog Star pay. Also…”

Seeing he was about to bargain, Cyril’s sharp eyes narrowed slightly.

“Can you make them shut up?” The Dongling Star ruler pointed toward Ji Tianjin and Su Cha.

Xie Rongjue silently nodded beside them, finally someone voiced his true thoughts.

Since the morning, the Federation president seemed no different than usual, but his secretary noticed by his increased small nervous movements that something was amiss.

“There’s an energy storm in the wormhole; the frontlines guarding the interstellar battlefield have retreated ten kilometers.”

The secretary delivered a piece of somewhat reassuring news proving something definitely went wrong inside the wormhole.

“If he’s caught in the first wave of the energy storm…” The Federation president frowned slightly.

He worried Cyril might have avoided the strongest vortex inside the wormhole. But if the plan went smoothly, at worst either Cyril or Sanses would be injured.

The Federation president had almost been waiting like stone, but fate was not on his side. That afternoon, news came of Fog Star and the Galactic Empire’s spectacular return, and even Su Cha had been safely brought back.

The Federation president was extremely cautious and had returned to the Federation secretly days ago, manipulating everything behind the scenes. Now that the plan had failed, he quickly reviewed the whole process to check for anything that might expose him, patching any holes as soon as possible.

“Fortunately.”

Leaning back in his chair, half resentful and half relieved, at least so far, there was no evidence linking the Shiyuan tribe to him.

At that moment, the secretary hurriedly entered: “Something happened.”

He opened his portable computer; the anonymous reports and other evidence had been made into flyers and distributed widely by unknown parties.

The Federation president’s eyes tightened, and he ordered: “Get someone to do crisis control — say the photos are malicious fabrications, and the contents of the reports are fictitious. Don’t worry too much. Even if more concrete evidence appears, besides Fog Star, others will at most just haggle over benefits.”

The secretary left, but returned within half an hour.

The Federation President rubbed his temples. “What now?”

“There’s been an incident.”

The President took a deep breath. “Be specific.”

“The Dongling Empire is mobilizing its military. The Juyuan Empire has also recalled one of its legions…” The secretary reported one by one. “Do you think they’re preparing to wage war against us?”

The President suddenly stood up. “What about Fog Star?”

“Quiet as a mouse. Word is, Cyril personally took Su Cha back to recover.”

The President let out a sigh of relief and waved his hand. “As long as Fog Star doesn’t move, the others won’t make a serious move.”

The secretary left, but before long, he reappeared, this time even forgetting to knock as he barged in directly.

“There’s been an incident.”

For some reason, the President wanted to smash his face in.

The secretary’s expression was unusually grave. “The armies of six empires are simultaneously moving toward the Federation.”

The Federation went into a full lockdown.

The President immediately sent envoys to ask for explanations. The envoys were allowed to return alive, bringing back a newspaper that foreign leaders instructed them to deliver.

“What do they mean by ‘seeking justice for the competitor’?” The President smashed the newspaper and his desk into powder with a single blow. “If they actually cared about that, they would have acted when the competitor was kidnapped.”

Back then, everyone loudly condemned the Shiyuan Clan, but apart from Fog Star, Galan Empire and the Zerg, no one actually did anything.

What truly terrified the Federation President, however, was that photo. He racked his brain but couldn’t think of anyone capable of sneaking close in a battleship to take that picture.

His gut told him this was critical, but there was no time to investigate now. The President coldly ordered, “Send a video request to the Dongling Empire.”

The armies were already pressing on the border planets. If the other side agreed, they could immediately open communications.

As soon as the video connected, the President cut straight to the point. “I’ll admit I’m a little pleased to see your misfortune, but this Shiyuan business is just baseless rumor.”

The ruler of Dongling Star shook his head. “There’s more than just the photo. Other supporting evidence exists. There’s no need to keep up appearances at this point.”

The President paused. “What do you want?”

The Dongling ruler didn’t name conditions. “I’ve already publicly stated my demand—justice.”

Justice here meant the President’s life in exchange.

Refusing to negotiate and willing to shed blood — this was completely out of character for the Dongling ruler. The President gritted his teeth and asked, “Were you kidnapped?”

He hinted that if the ruler had been coerced, he could just blink.

The Dongling ruler’s expression turned odd, but he didn’t blink. He simply ended the call.

The President contacted the other planetary rulers like those of the Juyuan Empire, but all he got were official statements. They all claimed to be defending justice.

“Defend your ancestors!” The President finally lost his composure.

What had these beasts eaten to suddenly become so righteous?

Not long after the calls ended, full-scale war broke out on the border. Judging by the scale and methods of attack, unless the Federation agreed to depose the President, there was no room for negotiation.

The Federation urgently launched accountability proceedings to debate whether or not the President should step down.

Fog Star and the Galan Empire were still holding back. If they joined in, the Federation would stand no chance. But if they surrendered too easily, the Federation’s authority would crumble. In the end, they decided to stall and try to split the united forces.

They targeted the Dongling Empire, known for having no bottom line. The President personally sent a letter offering to cede ten star systems in exchange for a ceasefire.

But that very afternoon, the Dongling ruler held a press conference, revealing the Federation’s secret offer. “I will never trade a little petty profit for justice for my people.”

“To be born human is to defend our bottom line.”

“Don’t let yourself be swayed by those who use dirty tricks…”

The sound of camera shutters filled the air, with reporters practically shoving cameras in his face.

The Dongling ruler grew more impassioned as he spoke.

Standing on the moral high ground felt intoxicating. He loved it.

The broadcast was relayed across multiple space stations and streamed live across the entire universe. Viewership had already surpassed tens of billions.

Su Cha was among them.

He sat cross-legged on a carpet, munching on an apple, but his chewing gradually slowed. “This guy is so shameless. But why do his words sound so familiar?”

From behind, Ji Tianjin calmly remarked, “It’s what I said to you on the battleship.”

Su Cha responded instantly, “That makes him even more shameless — he’s plagiarizing someone else’s words.”

Ji Tianjin: “You can steal words, but you can’t steal justice.”

“Cough…”

Su Cha was so startled he choked on his apple.

Ji Tianjin walked over to pat his back and help him catch his breath, then turned on some music, handed him a glass of red wine, and bent down to offer his hand.

Su Cha raised an eyebrow. This scene felt strangely familiar. After a moment, he remembered — the Federation President used to dance like this, swirling a wine glass in one hand in smug celebration.

Only now, their solo dance had become a duet — a celebration for the coming downfall of the Federation President.

Su Cha asked, “Does this count as stealing the Federation President’s joyful creativity?”

Ji Tianjin: “It’s inheritance, like inheriting Shen Ningze’s spatial folding device.”

He wrapped one arm around Su Cha’s waist and raised his wine glass with the other. “Everyone wishes to be remembered after death.”

“True enough.” They exchanged glances, and Su Cha smiled as he clinked his glass. “Cheers.”

Su Cha is a flower demon. After completing his term of service, the system agrees to grant him a new life as a universally adored favorite. “I carefully chose a place for you. The species that live there are known for their brutality, but their birthrate for offspring is extremely low—every cub is a treasured being they would protect with their lives.” “Your new identity is a rare and precious cub.” However, an error occurred during the teleportation process, and Su Cha was sent to another planet: Galan Star. Completely unaware of the mistake, Su Cha assumes he’s living out his beloved group-pampering script and stops a passing iron-blooded general leading his troops. With a gentle smile, Su Cha hints madly: The cub is here—hurry and pamper me to death! The people of Galan Star are born without a sense of smell, are cold-blooded and warlike, and hate weak things the most. Until one day, they smelled the fragrance of a flower. “!!!” Fog Star and Galan Star are scheduled for a cultural exchange, shocking the galaxy. But within a day, the "exchange" escalates into military confrontation. It’s said that the war started over a single cub. The system, having finally fixed the teleportation program, rushes back to find its old partner—only to see countless warships floating in the sky, with war on the verge of eruption. The system is horrified: “What happened?!” Su Cha gives a weak smile: “Don’t ask. If you must know—it’s a Star Wars situation.”  “……” Note: This story starts off as a lighthearted coming-of-age tale with a satisfying and refreshing tone. The protagonist (shou) appears gentle but is cunning underneath.
