The time flow between the two planets differed, but not so drastically as to be absurd.
Cyril had not returned to Fog Star. He had been stationed at the interstellar battlefield, which was closer to the wormhole. Each day, Land would launch trackers into the wormhole, hoping they would scatter across distant light-years to search—but the odds were slimmer than retrieving a lost pebble from the ocean.
Recently, Fog Star had joined forces with the Galan Empire to carry out a brutal and frenzied retaliation against the Shiyuan clan. In response, the Shiyuan clan requested a ceasefire under the pretense of releasing some hostages.
Cyril summoned Land. “Issue a public statement. For now, we’ll accept the Shiyuan clan’s offer of peace.”
Land knew his king well—Cyril was not the type to halt military actions out of compassion for foreign hostages. A possibility occurred to him, and he asked excitedly, “Could it be that the little prince…”
That brief moment of spiritual resonance had brought more than just urgency—it had yielded usable information.
Through Su Cha’s perspective, Cyril had seen numerous types of flowers and plants.
Some had long gone extinct in the interstellar era. Others he didn’t even recognize. During the last time his soul had been expelled in haste, he had managed to glimpse some rare varieties. Combining that with what he had just seen was already enough.
“When I return… it will be the Shiyuan clan’s doom.”
That one sentence indirectly confirmed Land’s guess. Cyril’s gaze then shifted to another image—a photo of someone sticking their butt out and twisting their waist. His eyes darkened slightly. “How’s our arrangement on the Federation side?”
Land nodded. “It’s already underway.”
Daring to use the Shiyuan clan to manipulate the little prince—they would make the Federation’s president pay dearly for that.
Cyril’s sudden return to Fog Star shocked everyone.
Especially the Federation president. He’d initially planned to use moral pressure—if Fog Star continued its attack on the Shiyuan clan and the hostages were executed, it could cause public backlash from other planets. But unexpectedly, Cyril voluntarily ceased fire.
Unbelievable as it was, Cyril had indeed returned to Fog Star. He went straight to the central AI control hub on the lake island and adjusted certain parameters.
Su Cha had fallen into the wormhole with the warship—at minimum, that would toss him across 7.5 billion light-years. Cyril directed his search to planets 7.5 to 9 billion light-years away.
During this time, the AI had already eliminated tens of millions of unsuitable planets. Now, in less than ten minutes, the screen displayed five possible matches.
Cyril paused. Su Cha had mentioned “demons,” which implied the air composition there had special elements that aided biological development. No need to probe each planet individually. Once there, he’d be able to identify the right one by scanning from the ship.
Only one task remained—test carrying capacity, to see how many people could be brought.
Cyril instructed his guard: “Assemble the mid-level officers. Pull one thousand ships for now.”
Battleships were too limited. Using smaller ships allowed for more deployment.
…..
Billions of light-years away, Su Cha was still unaware of the power of that single word: “Daddy.”
He woke from a nightmare blanketed in flowers to find bird corpses scattered nearby.
Ji Tianjin was still working on names but explained in passing, “These birds were off. They turned back immediately after spotting us.”
Most likely, they were scouts reporting back.
Su Cha took one glance and confirmed: “They’re Beast Taming Sect spies.”
Their tail feathers shimmered with iridescence—not your average birds. Su Cha stretched and loosened up. “Looks like the chaos at Beast Taming Sect has been suppressed.” Ji Tianjin nodded.
The howling that shook the skies had already begun to die down the previous night.
“Xia Huihong prides himself on his status. He won’t personally get involved in searching for us,” Su Cha said.
But they couldn’t keep dragging things out with the Beast Taming Sect—prolonged attrition only hurt them. They had to fracture the enemy before they regrouped.
Ji Tianjin pondered for a moment. “Sowing discord shouldn’t be too hard.”
Su Cha smiled—they were clearly thinking the same thing.
Ji Tianjin handed him paper and pen.
Normally, he’d do this part himself, but in this world he was nearly illiterate. He could manage translations via his mechanical gloves or short messages, but letter writing still lacked finesse.
Su Cha looked around—only a tree nearby that could be used as a support. In the end, he lay across Ji Tianjin’s back and quickly wrote a letter.
His spirit form appeared of its own accord before being summoned, sounding aggrieved: “You want me to go again, don’t you?”
Su Cha stared at it for a moment before a bold, cruel idea popped into his head. “How about… you come up with the names—”
Before he could finish, the lotus magnolia dashed out eagerly.
It rolled the crumpled letter like a tiny package and fled.
The beasts in the Beast Taming Sect were still weak. Even under the sun, they felt no warmth.
If it was for divine beasts before, now, even without the white tiger, the sect master just wanted to rip Su Cha apart. But the sect was too demoralized, and he couldn’t risk leaving in case of enemy attacks.
Just after inspecting a high-tier beast, the sect master suddenly stopped.
Perched on the branch above was a small white flower. On its back, it carried a bulging package.
Even with its low presence, the lotus magnolia couldn’t avoid detection at close range by someone powerful.
The sect master didn’t immediately strike. He had seen footage from the auction—if this flower dispersed, it wouldn’t affect Su Cha at all.
The lotus magnolia dropped the paper bundle—not a hidden weapon, just a soft landing on the ground.
To guard against poison, the sect master had a beast bring it over. Upon checking, it was a simple letter, containing only a few lines: [Su Yeling has almost no chance of winning. Xia Yu is protecting him, but Xia Huihong could replace him at any time. Maybe with the Li Snake Clan. Why not give them a little push?]
If Su Yeling dropped out, the Li Snake Clan would indeed be strong contenders. Their internal hierarchy was harsh—due to rapid reproduction, they culled weaker members themselves. If they could strike a deal and get those culls, Beast Taming Sect’s strength would rise significantly.
Compared to an uncertain divine beast, this tangible long-term gain was more appealing.
After a while, seeing it hadn’t been destroyed, the lotus magnolia knew the old man was tempted.
“If that’s the case, let’s talk it over. On Su Yeling’s way back from the Flower Demon Clan…” The lotus mimed slashing its neck with a leaf. “Take him out.”
“…” Why does this flower seem even more vicious than a beast?
The sect master burned the letter. He had other plans—he intended to double-cross them all, kill Su Cha and seize the divine beast. That would make him the biggest winner.
The lotus magnolia didn’t leave. Su Cha couldn’t personally negotiate; it had to handle everything.
….
While his spirit beast toiled, Su Cha happily slacked off.
He wrote two letters in total. The second was an electronic message, intended as a private message to Xue Li, though he worried it wouldn’t be read.
Ji Tianjin suggested, “Hack the account. Leave a hint, then return it.”
“…”
Borrowing arrows with straw boats—Su Cha was now just waiting for his pawns to fall into place.
The Beast Taming Sect had always been sly and wouldn’t cooperate obediently. So in the letter to Xue Li, Su Cha proposed: if the attack on Su Yeling succeeded, they could play the waiting game—kill the Li Snake Clan’s leader afterward. That way, before the election, the Xia family would have no time to find a new suitable candidate.
“Compared to others, Xue Li is less likely to attack us.”
They had a common obstacle: the Xia family. That made them reliable allies of interest. Still, Su Cha never put all his trust in strangers. “When the time comes, we’ll go one bright and one hidden—guard against any sneak attacks.”
Ji Tianjin nodded. Then, with a sudden question, “Do you have a grudge with the Li Snake Clan?”
“Their leader is pretty close with Su Yeling. He worked hard spreading rumors about me and the Xia family’s daughter.”
Back then, he was just a young clan leader. Now, he was a renowned tycoon.
As a target on Su Cha’s assassination list, he had been keeping tabs on his social media.
Upon hearing the phrase “pretty close,” Ji Tianjin’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “How close?”
Su Cha said meaningfully, “Blood brothers settle debts clearly. They’re even more calculated.”
If the Li Snake Clan could win the Xia family’s support in Su Yeling’s place, they would never let that chance slip by.
As for the negotiations—Su Cha was sure the Beast Taming Sect master would live up to expectations.
That night, while sitting on the mountaintop eating instant noodles, Su Cha sensed a message from his spirit form and paused mid-bite with his chopsticks frozen in the air.
Ji Tianjin looked up at him. “It’s settled?”
Su Cha smiled. “Even smoother than expected.”
All the specifics of the assassination had been planned by others, with Lotus Magnolia involved throughout. Su Cha had thoroughly skated by this time.
Two days later, at Tianmen Pass.
The surrounding area was desolate. Even if the Flower Demon Clan rushed to help, it would take time. Killing Su Yeling was an extremely difficult task. The Beast Taming Sect dared to make a move not just because the Li Snake Clan provided a steady stream of spirit beasts, but also because this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Su Yeling was currently injured, and the destruction of his reputation had affected his cultivation mindset. Just Su Cha alone had wounded him badly. Now, with three factions working together, even if they couldn’t kill him, they could leave him half-crippled.
By noon, Su Cha still hadn’t appeared. The Beast Taming Sect Master, who had been lying in wait, glanced coldly at an inconspicuous little white flower beside him. “Let’s hope some people don’t just hide in the shadows and watch from the sidelines.”
The little white flower replied, “Do you think that’s even possible?”
The Beast Taming Sect Master and the Li Snake Clan chief exchanged glances and held their breath, resuming the ambush.
Everyone knew Su Cha wanted to kill Su Yeling—it was impossible he’d sit this out entirely.
As time ticked by, the little white flower said, “Su Yeling left the Flower Demon Clan at 6:18 yesterday afternoon. Based on the timing, he should be arriving soon.”
The Beast Taming Sect Master, who had been thinking about how to seize the divine beast, suddenly felt a chill. Until now, he hadn’t been able to imagine how Su Cha had developed an informant inside the Flower Demon Clan.
The little white flower had not only accurately given Su Yeling’s departure time, but had also described in detail the vehicle he was using for this trip.
The two places weren’t far apart. Flying still required a car transfer, and Su Yeling avoided high-speed rail to keep a low profile due to his injuries. He had chosen to drive.
“He’s here,” said the Li Snake Clan chief, placing a hand to the ground. From the faint vibrations, he was the first to sense it.
Bringing too many people increased the risk of exposure. The Li Snake Clan had only brought their two strongest enforcers, and the Beast Taming Sect Master had stationed his vice master in the shadows for support.
Su Yeling was accompanied by an elder, currently sitting in the back seat with his eyes closed as if resting, though a deep frown marked his brow.
He had personally investigated the recent explosion, but still hadn’t identified the culprit. If the Beast Taming Sect hadn’t repeatedly summoned him, he would’ve stayed until the matter was resolved.
Suddenly, Su Yeling’s eyes flew open. “Get out.”
Before the words had fully fallen, he vanished from the car—and in the next instant, the vehicle exploded midair, flames billowing and gasoline-fueled fire raging wildly.
He swept his sleeve to disperse the blast wave surging toward him. Before he could catch his breath, multiple figures simultaneously lunged. The elder managed to block two of them, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Su Yeling from being surrounded.
“Yin Kui,” Su Yeling coldly called out the Li Snake Clan chief’s name upon recognizing him.
Yin Kui didn’t waste a word. Now that things were out in the open, there was no need for excuses.
His every strike went straight for the vital points, while the Beast Taming Sect Master released a demon beast to attack from both front and rear.
The moment he saw Yin Kui, Su Yeling immediately understood their plan. “If you kill me, Xia Yu will never let you go. The Xia family will never support you.”
Yin Kui had already considered that possibility. Even without the Xia family, there were other clans—and he had long prepared a backup plan.
In another dimensional space, Ji Tianjin observed the ongoing battle. He had to admit, Su Yeling was incredibly strong. Even while surrounded, he was barely managing to hold his own.
“Where’s Xue Li?” Ji Tianjin asked.
Su Cha replied, “About ten kilometers from here.”
He had already sent out some of Lotus Magnolia’s white flowers to keep watch nearby.
Ji Tianjin told Su Cha to stay and continue observing while he stepped out to join the fight.
His attack method was very simple: all his overwhelming spiritual force surged straight toward Su Yeling’s lower body—his weakness. The pain and rage made Su Yeling lose his calm.
The Beast Taming Sect Master and Yin Kui were impressed. Taking the cue, they focused their attacks on that same vulnerable spot.
“Chief!” the elder shouted, retreating two steps to activate a communication talisman and summon reinforcements.
Sometimes old methods worked best—like now, a talisman was more reliable than a phone.
The Beast Taming Sect Master’s beast was lightning-fast. Taking advantage of Su Yeling’s distraction, it slashed at his back with sharp claws.
The attack should have ripped open his torso, but it only tore through his outer clothes—revealing a near-impenetrable armored inner garment.
Su Yeling sneered, “Just this?”
Before he could finish, Ji Tianjin suddenly closed the distance and smashed a punch into him.
Su Yeling countered by flicking a flower petal clutched between two fingers.
Neither dodged. Confident in his armor, Su Yeling believed the other would be more seriously injured.
Indeed, Ji Tianjin was heavily wounded—blood gushed from his shoulder. But his mechanical glove detached and smashed into Su Yeling’s abdomen, exploding on impact. The next second, razor-sharp spiritual energy traced his fingertips, slicing cleanly into Su Yeling’s stomach. The combination of forces left his abdomen a bloody mess.
Ji Tianjin nearly reached in to grab his internal organs, only to be repelled by Su Yeling’s ferocious demonic energy. Blood poured between his fingers—whose, it was hard to say.
“So the demon bead isn’t here,” Ji Tianjin muttered, a strange dark gleam in his pupils.
Even the others paused and backed away slightly—this young man gave off an unsettling vibe.
If they heard correctly, he had just tried to cut Su Yeling open to extract his demon bead.
Ding—
A clear, melodious chime echoed through the sky.
Su Yeling had activated the soulmate bell. He gritted his teeth and transmitted a message through it: “Ah Yu, save me.”
The Beast Taming Sect Master’s face changed. That bell was no ordinary object. “Quick, kill him now!”
No one could be sure whether Xia Huixiong would come to his daughter’s aid.
Yin Kui calmly launched a second wave of attacks.
Su Yeling dodged awkwardly, then suddenly grinned. “Yin Kui, do you really think killing me means you get everything? Fool. There are other entanglements between the Flower Demon Clan and the Xia family.”
He popped a pill and chuckled, “The only reason Xia Huixiong still has strength is thanks to our clan’s support.”
Yin Kui’s expression finally changed.
Su Yeling was abruptly cut off—Su Cha appeared out of thin air, healing Ji Tianjin while saying gravely, “It’s the blessing of the Flower God.”
This technique had two uses: one was for protection and purification like Su Cha had used; the other, when combined with blood-burning, could extend someone’s life.
Burning blood came at the cost of one’s lifespan. Su Yeling would never do it himself—he had long ordered others in his clan to do it, and then had them secretly eliminated.
“Su Yeling, you’re a monster.”
Su Yeling’s smile widened at Su Cha’s anger. “Winners rule, losers fall. Blame your own lack of power and weak backing.”
He even found time to glance into the distance. “With Xia Huixiong’s ability, he’ll arrive in at most a quarter hour. None of you seriously think you can kill me in that time?”
Yin Kui and the Beast Taming Sect Master were now caught in a dilemma.
Su Yeling saw the opportunity and said, “Kill Su Cha for me, and I’ll consider all grudges settled.”
He hadn’t even finished speaking when the sky suddenly darkened—as if a great shadow had blotted out the sun. But Su Cha felt something else: a shift in the air current.
He instinctively looked up.
Countless airships filled the sky, blocking out the sun, casting a vast, oppressive shadow over the land. Birds scattered in fright, and even the Beast Taming Sect Master’s demon beast sensed danger, stopped its attack, and retreated behind its master.
