Chapter 95 (^_^)

Coach Lin sighed regretfully, “An Lan is still too soft. Come a few more times, and he’ll understand… the importance of a single precise shot.”

“Now, let’s go retrieve Liang Hao and An Lan.”

“No, I’ll go retrieve An Lan.”

“What about Liang Hao?”

Coach Lin smiled, “He’s a good whetstone.”

“Understood.”

A fully armed team searched for Liang Hao’s whereabouts in the jungle. They found Liang Hao’s signaling device in the bushes but didn’t find him.

The team leader raised his fist, signaling others to be alert.

“The guy is nearby.”

Others immediately became vigilant.

“Liang Hao, this test is over. You and An Lan only had one bullet each. An Lan hit your shoulder, right? And your bullet didn’t even get a chance to be used because your shoulder is injured, and you can’t handle the rifle.”

Liang Hao still didn’t move.

The leader continued, “We have three people in this team, and you only have one bullet. Are you confident you can take down all three of us with one shot? Losing is just losing; there’s no need to feel ashamed. Win it back next time.”

Others followed, holding guns and staying alert to the surroundings.

“Hey, don’t worry; your request hasn’t been ignored. Listen to what Coach Lin meant—” After saying this, the captain played the recording from earlier, and Coach Lin’s statement, “He is a good whetstone,” kept repeating.

Hidden in the stone forest, Liang Hao’s arms trembled. Every time he heard the phrase “whetstone,” his teeth felt like they were about to shatter.

“Liang Hao, we all belong to ‘Eden.’ Since the beginning of our new life bestowed by ‘Eden,’ we must adhere to its rules.” The captain’s voice gradually grew colder. “Come back with us; you can still have a hot meal, a good night’s sleep, and wipe away the shame in the next test. Isn’t he just a teenager? Played a few tricks… These tricks are all the gimmicks we used when we were beginners. You, as an experienced teacher, fell for it once. How would you fall for it a second time?”

The captain’s words painfully stabbed at Liang Hao’s nerves. The terms “tricks” and “gimmicks from beginners” sounded like complete mockery in Liang Hao’s ears.

“Then go to h*ll.” A cold light flashed in Liang Hao’s eyes as he pulled the trigger, directly hitting the leader’s head.

The leader fell with a groan, and other team members immediately guarded around him.

Liang Hao revealed a sinister smile, “You like to talk so much—can you still talk when you’re dead?”

To his surprise, the leader stood up again.

“Boss! Are you okay? I thought your brain got splattered!”

“How could I die so easily? The bullet came from that direction—”

Miraculously, the leader was unharmed, and he led the team towards Liang Hao.

Liang Hao was dumbfounded, completely incredulous.

“What’s going on? How is this possible? I clearly hit him! I clearly…”

In that instant, Liang Hao suddenly realized that the bullets in his gun were special blank rounds and couldn’t kill anyone!

But An Lan received real bullets!

The pain in Liang Hao’s shoulder intensified.

Coach Lin didn’t lie; he was indeed An Lan’s whetstone! And they wanted to ensure that this whetstone wouldn’t harm that knife!

After struggling for so long, proving his worth with great effort, he was still going to be abandoned by “Eden”!

He was unwilling! He was not willing at all!

Even in the next test, he still couldn’t win against that brat! He knew too well about the style of “Eden”—they wanted him to become An Lan’s sacrificial ghost.

If once doesn’t work, then twice, and if twice doesn’t work, then three times! There will be a moment when An Lan will kill him for survival, and at that moment, An Lan will officially become the next Liang Hao! A killer who can restrain the Gu family!

D*mn “Eden”! If you treat me with malice, don’t blame me for being unjust to you!

My life and death are in my hands alone; no one can control me!

Liang Hao suddenly jumped out and tackled one of the team members.

Although wearing a headgear, it was a woman.

Liang Hao’s intention was to snatch the woman’s gun, but unexpectedly, her movements were remarkably quick. She resisted his chin, then twisted his shoulder, and with the force from her waist, she threw him to the ground and subdued him.

Liang Hao’s face was pressed into the mud. He wanted to struggle, but a gun was already pressed against his head.

“Tsk, indeed a wolf. Unfortunately, at the end of the road.”

The leader pulled Liang Hao up and kicked him hard, making him kneel on the ground.

“Boss, do we finish him off directly?” the woman asked as she stood up.

“No, let Coach Lin handle it.”

They escorted Liang Hao back.

At this moment, Jiao Yun happened to pass by in an off-road vehicle. The back of the car was filled with supplies.

“Hey, do you want me to give you a lift?” Jiao Yun smiled.

“The speedboat is here? What good stuff did it bring? Don’t tell me it’s canned food again.” The leader joked.

Jiao Yun stopped the car, opened the trunk, and threw a pack of cigarettes to the leader. “How about this? Is it good?”

“Not bad…”

Just as the leader reached out to take the cigarettes, Liang Hao suddenly tried to snatch the gun from the leader’s waist. Fortunately, the leader reacted quickly, delivering a side kick. However, Liang Hao rushed into the open car door without hesitation.

Bullets rattled against the door, shattering the windows. Liang Hao sped away in the car.

He headed north and saw a speedboat unloading crates of goods.

He kicked over the goods, and the workers were kicked down. Those two people cursed in the sea, and Liang Hao, without saying a word, drove away on the speedboat.

Gunshots kept ringing out behind him, but Liang Hao, with determination, drove the speedboat away.

On the shore, the chasing leader, along with the team members, watched the speedboat sail away. They all sighed in relief at the same time.

The female team member spoke, “I was really afraid I couldn’t act well.”

The leader stretched his arm around her, smiling, “Your acting skills have always been top-notch. You’ve been pretending to be gentle and pleasant since I met you, and it’s been over a decade.”

“Do you like it or not?”

“I prefer the way you are without acting.”

Another team member sighed, standing behind them, “Only you two can be so calm. I was worried that he might really snatch Keira’s gun and, in the process, let you guys each eat a few bullets, turning the play into reality.”

“We’re a couple; we have a good understanding.” The female team member turned her head and smiled.

At this moment, Coach Lin found An Lan hiding behind a low rock, holding the rifle and hugging his knees. The young man’s face was buried in his arms, and his shoulders were still trembling.

“For a first-time hunt, you performed the best among the students I’ve taught,” Coach Lin sat down beside An Lan and took out a chocolate bar from his pocket, poking An Lan’s head with it.

An Lan unceremoniously pushed the chocolate bar to the side.

Coach Lin wasn’t angry, just looking at him sideways, “You have a talent that others don’t have. Are you willing to be an ordinary person, living a mundane and uninteresting life? Don’t you want to wield greater power, influencing those alpha families that control the most social resources?”

“Are you really giving me the choice?” An Lan asked gloomily.

“Of course, I’m giving you that choice.”

“Then I choose mediocrity.”

As soon as An Lan’s words fell, Coach Lin’s hand suddenly grabbed his neck, forcing him to lift his head. When An Lan met Coach Lin’s gaze, he was stunned; those were eyes without any warmth, coldly scrutinizing An Lan.

“Choosing mediocrity is no different from choosing destruction. Let me ask you a more straightforward question: Do you want to choose to live, or do you choose to die?”

An Lan was choked to the point of not being able to breathe, his face turning red.

Will I die?

Will I die here?

An Lan suddenly missed Gu Liyu on that rainy night; he was right by his side. His posture, his breath, his scent, and the strength with which he held him in his arms in the darkness of the night.

But now… where was Gu Liyu?

An Lan realized for the first time how weak he was. Gu Liyu had indeed protected him too well. However, he couldn’t let his guard down; he had to keep up the act; otherwise, Gu Liyu’s efforts to infiltrate such a dangerous environment would be in vain.

An Lan signaled with his mouth to Coach Lin that he chose to “live.”

Only then did Coach Lin release his grip. “Since you choose to live, throw away all those meaningless things. Kid, once you get used to the presence of that gun, you’ll find that aiming at Gu Liyu through the scope is the most flavorful.”

Coach Lin’s smile carried a hint of mockery. The walkie-talkie by his side crackled, transmitting the sounds of running breaths.

“Hello? Did you find Liang Hao?”

“…Liang Hao escaped! Liang Hao escaped!”

“What? Say that again! How did Liang Hao escape?” Coach Lin’s expression changed.

“He happened to encounter a supply truck; he stole the truck… drove to the dock… and even took the speedboat…”

“Stole the speedboat? You bunch of useless people!”

Soon after, the sound of water and a boat engine came through.

“We are chasing Liang Hao! He said he wants revenge! He wants to kill the person in your heart!”

Coach Lin paused for a moment, then laughed, “If he wants to kill the person in my heart, he should turn back and kill me.”

“He said that person is our big boss! He said he saw what you were hiding! That person is Gu…”

Before the name was completed, a massive explosion resounded, and there was no more sound from the walkie-talkie.

“Hello? Hello!” Coach Lin’s face turned pale.

He immediately turned around, grabbing An Lan, “Kid, I don’t have time to play games with you. Be honest with me!”

An Lan has been a Beta for more than ten years, and suddenly one day he started to differentiate towards Alpha! He began to grow taller, became handsome, and his charm skyrocketed in the eyes of his Omega classmates. Even the high-quality Alphas in the class extended an olive branch to An Lan. While celebrating with friends, An Lan, in his ecstasy, touched something he shouldn’t have. Due to his own weak alpha pheromones, it seemed like trouble was imminent. A high-quality Alpha came to An Lan’s rescue, bit his nape, and sent him back home. However…An Lan gradually began to exhibit Omega symptoms. Upon consulting a doctor, it turned out that the high-quality Alpha’s pheromones, while temporarily helping An Lan, were too dominant. They even harbored unspeakable thoughts about An Lan, affecting his differentiation process. An Lan must find this high-quality Alpha and tell him—stop obsessively infatuating over me! But who is this high-quality Alpha? Option 1: The refined and eloquent Chinese class representative. Option 2: The overboard school bully and math class representative. Option 3: The legendary school grass so indifferent that it’s rumored he lacks any s*xual desire. Clarifications: Initially, the Shou will have the tendencies of many liking him due to early investments, but later, he is devoted to one person and values monogamy. From the beginning of the story, the Gong has already developed an interest in the Shou, not necessarily an unreasoning deep love. As the story progresses, the reasons why the Gong is attracted to the Shou will be revealed. It is said to be a melodramatic, nostalgic style, written for simple enjoyment without much intellectual engagement. If you’re looking for sophisticated writing, please turn right and leave; don’t disturb the mood of other readers. The author is unaware of specific reader preferences, and if there are issues, they will be addressed as needed. The ABO system is just a form of gender or s*xual attraction. What truly determines a person’s strength is their inner resilience. Whether I am an Alpha soaring through the skies or an Omega excelling in various aspects, it doesn’t hinder me from laughing and enjoying life. — An Lan.
