After Rebirth, I Am the White Moonlight of All The Big Brothers Chapter 121

Chapter 121: Class Reunion, All for Her

Jiang Fuyue: “He is doing well.”

Having said that, she didn’t linger and walked away.

Liu Jinzhong watched her figure receding into the distance, then withdrew his gaze and looked down at the documents in his hands.

Fingers with a slight callus brushed over the annotations left on the paper, and he muttered absentmindedly, “But your handwriting is exactly the same…”

After a shower in the room prepared by Liu Jinzhong, Jiang Fuyue slept until the sun was high in the sky.

Just as she finished grooming, she received a call from Liu Bowen.

“Sister Yue, I heard that you participated in the information competition and once again got full marks, impressive!”

“….Oh.”

“Is that all?! Aren’t you happy? Excited? Thrilled?”

Jiang Fuyue’s response was flat, “The results were out a week ago, I got excited back then, why would I need to wait until now?”

“…” Liu Bowen conceded, finding her logic sound.

“Is there something you want?”

Liu Bowen, holding his phone, smiled awkwardly. “I heard you’re back from the capital and heading to summer camp again. We, the physics class, seem to have never gathered before. How about today?”

“Sure.”

Liu Bowen eagerly suggested, “This afternoon at two o’clock, gather at the school gate, okay?”

“Fine.”

Having secured the main attendees, Liu Bowen quickly summoned others in the group.

[Liu Bowen]: Breaking news! Breaking news! I’ve invited the bigshot, this afternoon at two, who’s coming? [Smirking]

[Hou Siyuan]: When you say bigshot, are you talking about Sister Yue?

[Liu Bowen]: Who else could match those two words? [Wiping sweat]

[Hou Siyuan]: Me me me! I’m going! [Raising hand] [Screaming]

[Hang Haoran]: +1

[Liu Fei]: +2

[Zhang Chengkai]: Still, Wenwen is reliable, actually able to invite the bigshot, 666

[Liu Bowen]: Of course, just take a look at who I am [Cute]

[Hou Siyuan]: You had to show off, didn’t you[Poop]?

[Liu Bowen]: You’re right! Are all 13 of us going?

After five seconds of silence.

[Hou Siyuan]: Except for Ling Xuan who hasn’t responded, everyone has signed up. @Ling Xuan

After waiting for a few minutes with no response.

[Hou Siyuan]: Maybe he hasn’t seen the message.

[Liu Bowen]: Then let’s go with 11 people for now, I’ve booked a private room.

[Hou Siyuan]: [Okay]

[Hang Haoran]: Um…cough! Silently asking, can we bring our family?

[Hou Siyuan]: Do you have a dog?!

[Liu Fei]: I think I smell the sour smell of love?

[Zhang Chengkai]: If we’re talking about being impressive, it’s still you.

[He Xin]: Is it someone from our grade? Who?

[Liu Fei]: Someone has started playing dead @Hang Haoran @Hang Haoran

The following is almost all gossip with polite banter.

The main character is forced into a corner and reluctantly pretends to be dead—

[Hang Haoran]: Our grade, you’ll know who it is when we meet in the afternoon, why the rush?

[Liu Fei]: No rush, is it Bai Xue?

[Zhang Chengkai]: Why do I feel like it’s Tang Ruoyan?

[Hou Siyuan]: Tang Ruoyan +1

[Hang Haoran]:  …Okay! Can we bring family? @Liu Bowen

Two minutes later.

[Liu Bowen]: Just asked Sister Yue, she doesn’t mind. If you want to bring them, go ahead.

[Liu Fei]: Can I bring a friend?

[He Xin]: I’ll bring my brother.

At the Ling family villa, the sunlight is just right.

Zhou Qin, wearing a sun hat and sunscreen clothing, is fully armed, tending to flowers in the yard.

Ling Qingzhou likes forget-me-nots, so she planted a large patch in the garden, personally taking care of them every day.

This flower field faces the master bedroom and the study’s floor-to-ceiling windows. As long as Ling Qingzhou stands in front of the window and lowers his head, he can see his favorite flowers.

“Madam, the medium-sized scissors are here. But the gardener said the commonly used one is broken, and only this one is left. It’s a bit heavy and rusty, easy to hurt your hands. Should I ask the gardener to come and you watch…”

“It’s okay, give it to me.”

“I’ll go get you a pair of gloves.”

When the servant returned with the gloves, Zhou Qin had already skillfully started pruning with the scissors.

“Madam, why bother with this…”

“It’s okay, I’ve made it a habit.”

Under the scorching sun, with the fragrance of flowers wafting, Zhou Qin’s focused face dripped with glistening sweat, but a serene smile remained on her lips.

At this moment, a melodious piano sound emanated from the villa, echoing in the air.

“Is Ah Xuan practicing the piano? Didn’t he arrange for a teacher to come for a lesson?”

The Physics summer camp was imminent, and Ling Xuan had been taking Physics classes lately. He even proactively asked Ling Qingzhou to find a better competition teacher to help with the training plan.

Originally, he had two piano lessons a week, but he had reduced it to one recently.

Servant: “I heard Young Master on the phone in the living room just now, telling the teacher not to come today.”

Zhou Qin frowned.

“Recently, at what time has Ah Xuan turned off the lights in his room?”

“Mostly around half-past midnight, a few times after one.”

“Nonsense! How can this be allowed?”

Zhou Qin put down the scissors, went into the villa, washed her hands, and in a hurry, without even tidying her hair, she quickly went upstairs.

Soon, the servant who stayed in the garden heard the piano sound stop.

“…Mom, I understand.”

“Ah Xuan, your grades are good enough, and with the conditions of our family, there’s really no need to work too hard.”

To this, Ling Xuan neither affirmed nor denied.

In the past, he had more or less similar thoughts. Being first in his grade, coming from an affluent family, while others were still at the foot of the mountain, he was already at the top.

However, Jiang Fuyue’s appearance shattered his self-righteous “superiority.”

Turns out the position he stood in was far from the “top.” There was a girl standing even higher than him, continuously climbing upwards.

What qualifications did he have to be complacent?

“…Ah Xuan, did you hear what mom was saying?”

Ling Xuan raised his eyes, “?”

Zhou Qin helplessly said, “Don’t stay up late at such a young age. Health is the most important. Without health, everything else is just talk.”

“Okay, I got it. I’ll make sure to sleep before twelve from now on.”

“Good. Mom believes you’ll keep your word. Practice the piano; I’ll go down first…”

“Mom!” Ling Xuan suddenly spoke up.

Zhou Qin stopped and turned around, her gaze gentle, “What’s wrong?”

“Do you think it’s okay for me to participate in the informatics competition?”

“Informatics…competition?”

Ling Xuan nodded.

“But haven’t you already participated in physics and mathematics? The competition’s difficulty is not small. Originally, participating in two subjects already disperses your focus. If you add another one, it might be too much.”

Ling Xuan pursed his lips, forming a straight line.

“Besides, you’ve never touched informatics before. Why suddenly want to participate in the competition?” Zhou Qin wondered.

Ling Xuan: “Shouldn’t capable people take on more tasks?”

“Silly son, have you ever heard of ‘specialization in a field’? A person’s energy is limited, talent is only one-sided. The purpose of cultivating after birth is to channel limited energy into the area related to the strongest talent. That way, you can achieve more with less effort.”

“Mom, do you think it’s possible for someone to excel in all three subjects while still focusing on their studies and win first place every time?”

And even get a perfect score.

Zhou Qin shook her head, thinking her son was talking about the person he wanted to become, not guessing in the direction of a real prototype.

“Silly son, how is that possible? You’re just setting too high standards for yourself. You must understand one thing—no one in this world is omnipotent.”

Ling Xuan lowered his eyes, his eyelashes trembling slightly. “It’s not…”

“What?”

“Someone can do it.”

That person is—Jiang Fuyue!

Not long ago, she once again scored full marks and won first place in the NOI domestic selection competition.

This was the fourth time, following the Physics preliminary and final rounds and the monthly exam, that she achieved a perfect score and won.

She didn’t have a professional tutoring team, didn’t burn the midnight oil, and even had some distractions, often sneaking peeks at extracurricular books under her desk. Yet, she consistently scored higher than him, securing a better ranking.

Suddenly, Ling Xuan felt a kind of powerlessness from the depths of his heart.

It seemed that no matter how hard he worked, he couldn’t overcome the mountain named “Jiang Fuyue.”

Seeing through her son’s anxiety, Zhou Qin contemplated for a moment. “Ah Xuan, do you know where successful people have something in common?”

“Talent?”

Zhou Qin shook her head.

“Perseverance?”

“Still not right,” Zhou Qin said, “it’s self-awareness. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses, and thus, playing to your strengths and avoiding weaknesses.”

Ling Xuan frowned.

“Let me give you an example. Your dad started with the production and packaging of daily necessities, but your dad himself doesn’t know how to produce daily necessities. He doesn’t even know how to seal a packaging box. When you stand at a certain height, many things don’t actually require your direct involvement. As long as you control those who possess this skill, you control the skill.”

“That’s the charm and wisdom of rulers.”

Ling Xuan seemed to be pondering. “…But the people with the skills might not want to be controlled.”

“That’s because you don’t yet have enough chips to attract them.”

“Like what?”

“Like something you have, but the other person doesn’t, or something rare that the other person lacks.”

Ling Xuan seemed to understand something, yet seemed to understand nothing.

“Alright, Mom has said enough. Just listen to it, in any case, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Our family lacks nothing.”

“Yes.”

“Oh, by the way, I passed by your room just now and heard your phone ringing.”

“I’ll go check…”

Five minutes later—

“Mom! I need to go out for a while!”

Zhou Qin, washing fruits, paused. “What for?”

“Classmate gathering.”

“It’s almost two o’clock. Why gather at this time?”

“The Physics Olympiad class.”

“Oh, then go ahead. Is your allowance enough? Do you want me to give you some cherries? They were just air-shipped from Chile.”

“No need.” Before the words even finished, Ling Xuan rushed out.

In the afternoon, exactly at two o’clock.

Jiang Fuyue arrived a few minutes early but saw a group of people waiting at the school gate.

Liu Bowen jumped up and waved to her, “Sister Yue, over here—”

She walked over.

The group of people went to the pre-booked private room in a grand procession.

Jiang Fuyue and Liu Bowen followed behind, walking side by side.

“Why are there so many people?” she whispered.

Glancing over, there were at least fifteen or sixteen people, with a few unfamiliar faces mixed in.

Liu Bowen chuckled and scratched his nose, “It’s all because of Hang Haoran. He wants to bring family, and the others are imitating him.”

“…”

At this moment, a hurried footsteps sound came from behind, a bit disheveled.

After a moment, a mild and polite male voice came, “Sorry, I’m late.”

“Ah! School Grass Lin is here!”

“Didn’t you notice that there was no response when someone was mentioned in the group earlier? Now, all of a sudden, he appears. Could there be something going on?”

“Don’t be so conspiratorial! What could possibly happen? No wonder he’s the school grass; he looks so handsome…”

Ling Xuan: “Sorry, my phone was charging, so I didn’t see the group messages.”

“No problem, no problem. It’s not too late, it’s exactly two o’clock now. Let’s go, everyone together.”

Everyone nodded.

The school grass’s popularity was no joke. Since Ling Xuan rarely attended such gatherings, everyone became more enthusiastic, even reaching a level where they were treating him like the center of attention.

Liu Bowen scratched his head and muttered quietly, “I thought he wasn’t coming…”

He glanced at Jiang Fuyue, but saw her expression remained calm, without any special reaction.

Tsk, not even beauty can capture her heart. I wonder what else could make her take a second look?

Liu Bowen thought this way in his mind, and unintentionally blurted out.

“There is,” Jiang Fuyue said in a flat tone. “If you take off your pants right now and perform a grass skirt dance, I won’t just look more; I’ll have no problem with both eyes. Want to try?”

“…” I was wrong, please don’t kill me.

At this moment, Ling Xuan, who was walking in front, suddenly turned around, his gaze passing over the surrounding students and landing directly on Jiang Fuyue.

Liu Bowen’s scalp tingled, but Jiang Fuyue seemed unperturbed. She didn’t give Ling Xuan a response, even a glance from the corner of her eye.

Look all you want; I’m as steady as a mountain.

“School Grass Ling, what are you looking for?”

“Nothing,” he withdrew his gaze.

A hidden undercurrent flowed in this corner. Except for the two people involved and Liu Bowen, others had no idea. Their attention was all on Hang Haoran and his girlfriend Tang Ruoyan.

“Wow, you two are together. When did you hook up?”

“What hooking up? Can’t you speak properly? Be civilized, okay? This is called advancing with hidden measures!”

“Yes, yes, that’s right!”

Liu Bowen muttered to himself, “I thought he wasn’t coming…”

Peripheral vision went to Jiang Fuyue, but she had a calm expression without any special reactions.

Tsk, not even beauty can capture her heart. I wonder what else could make her take a second look?

“Yes, yes, that’s right!”

Hang Haoran: “I’m telling you guys, you’ve had enough, don’t go too far, you’re scaring my girlfriend.”

“Oh! We haven’t said anything yet, and you’re already protecting her?”

“I’m curious, you two aren’t even in the same class, how did you end up together? Share some experience with us, having a girlfriend on your own is nothing, you have to make sure everyone has one, right?”

“That’s right, one person is using a blood letter to request for a class!”

The crowd was chattering, spewing all sorts of words, and even Hang Haoran with his thick skin was almost unable to cope.

Not to mention Tang Ruoyan, a girl who had long shrunk into a corner, holding her phone, pretending to make a call to avoid the current awkward situation.

Her gaze drifted to the tall and straight figure of Ling Xuan. Suddenly, a bold idea came to her.

She dialed a phone number.

“Hello, Lin Yao…”

At the same time, Liu Fei, who was also on the phone, said, “Hey, Cici, what are you doing?”

The other end of the line was the continuous sound of keyboard and mouse clicking, “If you have something to say, spit it out, I’m busy! D*mn it, you two, smash his dog head!”

“One good news and one bad news, which one do you want to hear first?”

“D*mn, how can you die like this? Are you two pigs?!” A burst of roars accompanied by the sound of things being thrown around.

Yi Ci got up, left his seat, grabbed a bottle of cola from the manager, took a few big gulps, and finally suppressed the evil fire.

Impatient tone: “Are you crazy today? If you have something to say, don’t play those fancy tricks.”

“I’m not. I just want you to choose.”

“Hiss… got an itch?” Yi Ci gritted his teeth.

Liu Fei grinned, “If you don’t choose me, I won’t say anything, but I guarantee you’ll regret it for sure!”

“…Good news.”

Liu Fei chuckled, “That’s right, since you’re going to yield to me anyway, you might as well do it early…”

“Do you f*cking want to say it or not? If not, I’m hanging up!”

“Wait, wait, I’m now with the goddess, getting ready to have a meal.”

Yi Ci rolled his eyes, “Your goddess, what does that have to do—”

Wait!

“Who did you say?”

Liu Fei triumphantly said, “My goddess—Jiang Fuyue!”

“D*mn it!” Yi Ci’s action of squeezing the cola bottle suddenly stopped, “What’s going on? How did you end up with her?”

“It’s a gathering for the Physics Competition Class, organized by Liu Bowen. Family members are allowed.”

Yi Ci’s heart moved, but…

“What’s the bad news?”

Liu Fei: “Ling Xuan is also here.”

“Tsk…” That little pseudo-gentleman.

Liu Fei: “So, what do you think? Are you coming or not?”

“Of course! If I don’t come, they’ll think I’m afraid of him!”

“Hehe, then you have to admit that you are my family.”

“Get lost—”

“I said I can only bring family members. If you don’t admit it, how can I bring you?”

Yi Ci: “…”

Liu Fei: “Bro, think it over. This opportunity only comes once. Don’t you want to pursue Jiang Jie? I can see that Ling Xuan is not honest, looking at Jiang Jie several times, and his eyes are turning green!”

“As the saying goes, if you can’t catch the wolf, don’t let go of the child. Endure a little now, and in the future, you can bring the beauty home, step on Ling Xuan and that guy surnamed Zhong like a devilish dance on the floor…”

“Shut up! Stupid!”

“Alright!” Liu Fei nodded, looking helpless, “I’ll hang up…”

“Wait!”

“Hehe… Brother?”

Yi Ci gritted his teeth, “I admit it, okay?”

“Wow! Long time no see, this moment is worthy of my lifetime remembrance! I’ll write it down when I go home later!”

“…” Fool.

Seeing that it was going well, Liu Fei quickly provided the address, “The Restaurant opposite the school, second-floor private room, move quickly.”

“I got it.”

“I didn’t expect Brother Ci, you also have a day of surrender. Perhaps this is the power of love!”

“Are you sure I surrendered?” The young and desolate voice came from the other end.

Liu Fei: “Didn’t you just admit it? You are my family!”

“Well, I am the big brother, and you are the little brother.”

Clang!

“I…” Liu Fei wanted to salvage the situation, but unfortunately, the call had already ended.

But… he struggled for half a day, and in the end, he didn’t gain any advantage?

Not playing like this!

On the other end, the group arrived at the private room, and due to the actual number of people exceeding expectations, they had to add temporary seats.

Liu Bowen found a waiter, “Please get a few more chairs.”

“How many more do you need?”

Liu Bowen immediately counted and reported a number.

The usually shy Tang Ruoyan suddenly spoke, “Sorry, can you add one more? I invited a friend, and she should be on the way. She’ll probably be here in about ten minutes.”

After hearing this, the expressions of the people were somewhat subtle.

Tang Ruoyan was brought by Hang Haoran as a family member, and they had nothing to say about this.

But can family members bring another person?

Hang Haoran frowned, lowering his voice, “Why didn’t you discuss it with me in advance?”

“There’s no need, right?” The girl looked innocent, “It’s not a big deal. Since we’re all out to have fun, what does it matter if there’s one more or one less?”

“But you should have told me first!”

“Oh, I only talked to her about it on the way here. I just casually invited her. It’s not a big deal, right? Besides, everyone is from the same school, what’s wrong with having one more person?”

“But you shouldn’t have—!”

“Do you ever stop?” Tang Ruoyan was a little annoyed, “Normally, you can’t even invite Lin Yao. It’s only because I’m close to her that she agreed. And you are still finding fault…”

Hang Haoran was taken aback, “You invited Lin Yao?”

Other male students had similar reactions, “It’s really Goddess Lin?”

“Did the sun rise from the west today? Not only is the school grass is lowering his status, even the school flower is gracing us with her presence.”

“Hehe… Can’t you stop barking?”

“Barking? What the hell is that?”

“Licking dog calls! Moreover, Lin Yao, the school flower, has long been surpassed by my Sister Yue. Don’t shout nonsense, thanks.”

“Oh! No need to be so serious, right?”

“That’s the fact.”

“Then I’ll call mine. What’s it to you?”

“It really has nothing to do with me, but refusing to be a licking dog spokesperson is also my right. So, you can shut up.”

“…”

Finally, Liu Bowen stepped forward, “Okay, then add one more chair.”

Liu Fei quietly raised his hand, “Two, thank you. My family member is also on the way and will be here soon.”

He emphasized the word “family member,” making a fundamental distinction from Tang Ruoyan’s invitation of “the family member’s family member.”

Tang Ruoyan didn’t look too good, feeling offended.

Liu Bowen also didn’t know how today’s gathering became so lively, “Anyone else want to add? Hurry up, let’s count now. We can’t add more later!”

Another hand silently raised, “I want to add one.”

“Wait a minute… Hou Siyuan, what are you up to? You didn’t mention this in the group yesterday, and now you’re here causing trouble. Is this necessary?”

Hou Siyuan stammered, “It’s just… impromptu.”

Liu Bowen’s mouth twitched, turning to the waiter, “Add three more chairs!”

“Alright.”

Once the chairs were ready, everyone took their seats.

Jiang Fuyue had been engrossed in her phone since entering the room, typing occasionally as if responding to messages. She paid no attention to the trivial matters of adding or not adding chairs – Liu Bowen would handle everything in the end.

Choosing a seat, she casually pulled a chair open to sit down.

Liu Bowen, quick to react, rushed forward to claim the seat on her left, “I’ll sit next to you, Sister Yue!”

Hou Siyuan, not to be outdone, plopped down on her right, “Sister Yue, believe it or not, sitting next to you gives a special sense of security!”

Jiang Fuyue: “?”

“Hehe,” Liu Bowen smiled obsequiously.

“Heehee,” Hou Siyuan looked adoringly at her.

“…”

Ling Xuan, meanwhile, silently retracted his outstretched leg.

Liu Fei cursed himself for not being quick enough to help Brother Ci grab a good spot near the coveted girl.

The waiter asked, “Can we start serving the dishes now?”

Liu Bowen looked at the three additional people, “How long until they arrive?”

Tang Ruoyan replied, “Right away.”

Liu Fei added, “Within two minutes.”

Hou Siyuan mumbled, “I… I’m not sure.”

At that moment, the private room door swung open, and Lin Yao, dressed in a lotus-pink long skirt, appeared with a bright smile on her face.

With a graceful figure, flowing hair, and fair skin with a hint of rosy luster, she resembled a blooming lotus in summer.

“Sorry, it seems I’m a bit late.”

Even her voice sounded more pleasant than usual.

“No problem, the goddess should always make a grand entrance!”

“Tsk tsk, are you planning to be a wagging tail today? Goddess making a grand entrance, what about those who appeared before her? Are they goddesses in training?”

“Not… I didn’t mean that, you see… you misunderstood me!”

“Stop it, you deadbeat! Has your goddess looked in your direction since she came in?”

“…” Heartbroken to pieces.

“Yao Yao, you’re here!” Tang Ruoyan put down her phone and went up to her. “Come, sit here, a seat specially reserved for you.”

The last sentence carried the teasing and banter known only between best friends because Ling Xuan was sitting next to them.

Lin Yao thanked her and gracefully placed down the small bag on her shoulder.

Once seated, she casually turned her head to look at Ling Xuan. “What a coincidence, didn’t expect you to be here too.”

“Mm.” He spoke sparingly.

Lin Yao pursed her lips. “I heard from Auntie that you’ve been training for competitions lately. When do you plan to leave for the capital?”

“The day after tomorrow.”

“Wow! That’s really a coincidence. I’m also going to the capital the day after tomorrow! It’s my grandma’s birthday, and my parents are abroad, unable to make it, so they’ve sent me as their representative. I’m afraid I won’t be able to handle it when the time comes and embarrass my family…”

She spoke with a bit of frustration, lowering her eyelids for a moment, but soon regained her composure, her eyes and gestures perfectly in place.

“Since we’re both going to the capital the day after tomorrow, why not go together? It’s good to have someone to look after each other on the way. Well, actually, it’s for you to keep an eye on me. Before this, I always went with my parents. This is the first time I’m traveling alone…”

“I’m sorry,” Ling Xuan interrupted her, “the tickets for our summer camp were booked collectively by the district.”

Lin Yao’s lips, which had just curved, froze dramatically.

“Oh…,” she said somewhat regretfully, but quickly adjusted herself. Negative emotions disappeared in a moment.

“It’s okay, although it’s a bit unfortunate this time, there will be other chances in the future.”

Ling Xuan remained noncommittal, bowing his head to drink tea.

Lin Yao: “What are you drinking? It looks good. I’m a bit thirsty too.”

Before Ling Xuan could speak, another boy next to her spoke enthusiastically.

“It’s just ordinary flower tea, there’s plenty here. Give me your cup, I’ll pour it for you!”

Lin Yao: “…” Who doesn’t know it’s flower tea? Mind your own business!

The boy: “?”

It’s very inexplicable.

When did he offend the goddess?

Liu Bowen: “How much longer for the other two? I’ve asked the waiter to serve the dishes.”

Before the words could settle, the door was pushed open again, and a figure rushed in energetically…
