Chapter 36

Rong Qiu had a good dream.
But upon careful consideration, dreaming of Qin Muye from Star Harbor last night might not be such a good dream.
Even so, he couldn’t deny that the S-rank alpha had an excellent appearance and body structure. Wearing casual clothes made him appear tall and slender; compared to their recent confrontations, that alpha was probably around 1.95 meters tall. Rong Qiu was already 1.8 meters tall, yet he seemed significantly shorter standing in front of that man.
His Ah Ye was also that tall.
Standing on tiptoes in front of the mirror, Rong Qiu still couldn’t reach that height from his memories.
Thinking of his partner, Rong Qiu, while brushing his teeth and washing up, had a smile in his eyes but a faint emptiness in his heart.
A deep emptiness.
Even though there were two more alphas at home, Rong Qiu still felt that his bedroom was missing someone.
Such a big bed, and only he slept in it…
Sigh, if his partner were still here, he could hold him tightly.
Thinking about it this way, Rong Qiu’s face turned warm, and a familiar warmth surged uncontrollably. With a gentle touch, he quickly undressed, leaving the beta naked under the cool water.
When he came out, the beautiful morning sun softened the deep and handsome profile of the beta.
Rong Qiu’s eyes were in a state of satisfaction, exceptionally bright.
If observed closely, the man’s clean cheeks were flushed, and the light streaming through the blinds landed on his attractive lip line, the full lips already damp with a layer of moisture. When illuminated, they shimmered like glazed pottery, and perhaps due to exertion in the bathroom, there were several obvious teeth marks on the lower lip.
Rubbing his slightly sore lower lip in front of the mirror, Rong Qiu’s gaze stopped at the hand that had exerted force, immediately turning on the tap to wash it.
After several washes, he stopped.
Rong Qiu sighed silently in his heart; if only Ah Ye were here.
Two people would probably be happier.
However, such thoughts only lingered for two or three seconds, quickly disappearing like pebbles thrown into a lake, leaving no trace except for ripples.
He was just thinking.
***
Downstairs, Rong Qiu met Zhao Nanchen, who had just finished work.
Zhao Nanchen had been on the night shift at the research institute yesterday and returned at seven in the morning. Now, he was walking somewhat weightlessly, waving at Rong Qiu before heading to his room.
It was only then that Chu Ming came out of the kitchen.
“Little Qiu, I’ve made breakfast. It’s ready to eat.”
The two of them silently had breakfast.
After finishing, Rong Qiu grabbed the car keys, turning to Chu Ming. “Aren’t you supposed to report to the Thirteenth Region today? I’ll take you.”
Chu Ming’s eyes were filled with surprise. “Isn’t it too troublesome, Brother Little Qiu?”
Rong Qiu shook his head, putting on the shoes at the entrance without saying whether it was troublesome or not. He just replied, “On your first day at the Thirteenth Military District, unfamiliar with the surroundings. It’ll be more convenient to walk around yourself when you get used to it.”
Rong Qiu wasn’t always so enthusiastic, but considering Chu Ming had just arrived, it was better to have someone guide him. However, Chu Ming’s matters should not be something he needed to think too much about. An outstanding graduate of Command Department A University, like Zhao Nanchen, was an excellent candidate sought after by the Thirteenth Military District.
Chu Ming was a graduate of the Command Department. Zhao Nanchen, who had just graduated, was also from the Command Department. Even the S-rank alpha they had encountered several times before was from there.
This year was indeed exceptional, with talents that everyone fought for was rushing to the Thirteenth Military District.
What treasures did this place hold?
But Rong Qiu soon frowned. The concentration of alpha commanders around him seemed too high…
He had only two in his house.
Two heavenly talents sleeping together made Rong Qiu a little worried about whether Zhao Nanchen and Chu Ming could get along well. Alphas were generally proud, and he hoped they wouldn’t accidentally fight in his villa.
Half a month passed, and everything seemed fine.
Rong Qiu could finally rest assured.
At lunchtime that day, Rong Qiu was eating in the cafeteria.
Approaching with a joyful expression, Director Qian walked with vigor, carrying a tray and squeezing into the same table where Rong Qiu was seated. “Little Qiu.”
“Director Qian?” Rong Qiu put down his chopsticks, raising an eyebrow. “Is there something, Director Qian?”
“Nothing, just chatting with you briefly and bringing you some good news.”
Rong Qiu listened attentively.
“It’s about that Commander Qin… the one you met before. He wants to see you again.”
Is that good news…
Rong Qiu’s face instantly became gloomy. “Why does he want to see me again?”
Last time they met, it resulted in a budget cut; if they meet again this time, it might mean the destruction of the entire Mech Research Institute where he works.
Rong Qiu turned away, saying, “I won’t go. As a researcher, I shouldn’t be meeting with the military heads of the district frequently.”
Director Qian disagreed, saying, “This time it’s a good thing.”
Leaning in, Director Qian said, “Have you heard? The General Assembly of our district’s research institute is undergoing reforms. The higher-ups are not satisfied, and they’ve already dealt with a lot of people. When they call you to meet him at this time, maybe he values your opinion. Good researchers from various institutes might get promoted to the General Assembly…”
“What does that have to do with me?” Rong Qiu straightforwardly replied, “I won’t go, and that’s final.”
***
Even though he said he wouldn’t go, the person he wanted to avoid wasn’t someone Rong Qiu could easily escape from. If it weren’t for Qin Muye being busy recently, he would have visited Rong Qiu the day after their encounter at the Star Harbor Airport.
However, due to his busy military duties and the unfavorable results of the recent reform of the district research institute’s General Assembly, Qin Muye had just finished looking into the chaotic situation, which was far more worse than he had imagined.
Out of the nearly five thousand research institutes, numerous useless projects were reported, and after so many years, not a single tangible research result could be seen.
Qin Muye carefully reviewed the documents, and the only thing that caught his eye was the military mech designed by Rong Qiu.
After admiring Rong Qiu’s design for a while, he felt recharged and continued to focus on the documents.
As an alpha, he led his subordinates from seven to ten at night. After busy weeks, Qin Muye finally had some free time, but that only meant he could avoid working overtime until midnight.
That evening, after learning that Rong Qiu wasn’t willing to meet with him through his beta sergeant, Qin Muye wasn’t surprised.
After several attempts, he had already figured out Rong Qiu’s attitude towards him.
Intentionally acting like a stranger, huh?
He, however, didn’t share Rong Qiu’s willingness.
So that night, Qin Muye drove to Rong Qiu’s residence himself.
***
Parking the car in front of this beautiful little house, Qin Muye pressed down the car window. This two-story small villa was almost the same as he had imagined, and even resembled the small villa in A University.
The design was clean and sleek, predominantly white, with a natural and fresh style.
At first glance, it made people feel like they were back at A University.
Qin Muye adjusted his attire in the rearview mirror.
He was in a hurry leaving the office, so he only managed to take off the outermost military uniform jacket. He wore a simple white shirt underneath, with military green uniform pants below. He didn’t even have time to change his shoes, still wearing knee-high military boots.
The stern alpha finally got out of the car, every step as if heading to the final execution.
He was about to face Rong Qiu’s criticism or anger.
If he was lucky, maybe Rong Qiu would understand his reasons and forgive him.
When he knocked on the door.
He felt inexplicably nervous.
But soon, the alpha reassured himself.
What’s there to be nervous about? Just open up about what happened before, and maybe the beta will understand.
Even if he doesn’t, he has time to keep talking with Rong Qiu. He didn’t believe Rong Qiu would be so heartless, disregarding their relationship from five years ago.
In fact, Qin Muye quickly realized that coming to find Rong Qiu in person this time was a joke.
Even if he couldn’t forgive him, he had time to continue enduring it with Rong Qiu.
He refused to believe that Rong Qiu would be so heartless, disregarding their friendship from five years ago.
In fact, Qin Muye quickly realized that coming over to find Rong Qiu in person was a joke.
“Is Brother Little Qiu back? I’ve already prepared dinner!”
Opening the door wasn’t the familiar handsome face Qin Muye knew.
It was Chu Ming.
Seeing Chu Ming’s face exposed in front of him without any concealment, an unnamed anger surged. At this moment, the S-rank alpha seemed calm, but his eyes, like a lone wolf, exposed his dissatisfaction.
Why?
Why was Chu Ming at Rong Qiu’s house?
And dressed so provocatively!
The alpha who opened the door wore casual sleepwear, a simple black and white checkered pattern with a wide-open neckline, revealing two large, elastic chest muscles.
Having tangled intimately in bed with Rong Qiu so many times, Qin Muye naturally knew Rong Qiu’s preferences.
Rong Qiu was a lover of uniforms and muscles.
Every time he saw him in a white shirt, his eyes would shine brightly.
So, was this alpha trying to follow in his footsteps and seduce Rong Qiu?
At this moment, Qin Muye completely acknowledged the intentions behind his repeated appearances in front of Rong Qiu in a shirt. Yes, he wanted to see Rong Qiu completely lose control, completely submit when faced with his body.
He even hoped that Rong Qiu’s eyes would only be on him.
But that didn’t mean he wouldn’t be angry when he saw someone else doing the same.
Who did Chu Ming think he was?
Walking straight in as if he were the host, Chu Ming assumed the appearance of the master and welcomed him in.
Chu Ming was also surprised. He looked at the tall man in front of him, then at the pheromone barrier attached to his neck, quickly realizing that this was a powerful alpha.
But he didn’t recognize that this was the person who made Rong Qiu unhappy five years ago.
He didn’t even recognize that Qin Muye was the chief commander of the Thirteenth Military District.
Now looking at the man in familiar military pants and boots, Chu Ming, half-opening the door, gave him a scrutinizing look. “Are you from the Thirteenth Army? Here to find Brother Little Qiu? Brother Little Qiu hasn’t finished work yet. How about you come in and wait.”
Even though Chu Ming suggested for Qin Muye to come in and wait, he still didn’t let him in.
Qin Muye stood still at the doorway and coldly asked, “What’s your relationship with him?”
The hostility of this alpha gentleman was too sudden.
Sensing it, Chu Ming’s expression turned ugly, “I’m his friend, currently sharing the rent with Little Qiu. If you’re a friend of Little Qiu, please contact him first. If not, please leave quickly.”
With these words, Chu Ming had made his intentions clear.
He was asking Qin Muye to leave.
Unmoved, Qin Muye calmly looked at Chu Ming and finally came to a conclusion, “You like him.”
Chu Ming gritted his teeth.
He never expected that a man he met for the first time could see through his feelings for Rong Qiu.
Qin Muye continued, “And you’re afraid of me.”
Chu Ming felt a mix of anger and embarrassment.
He indeed didn’t want Brother Little Qiu to encounter this man because this man was outstanding.
It wasn’t just his handsome face and excellent physique; it was more about the aura this man carried. Chu Ming, although born into an ordinary alpha family, had seen many aristocratic students at A University. However, none of those alphas had the imposing and mysterious aura that the alpha in front of him possessed. There was a danger to it.
So, Chu Ming chose to close the door.
Just before closing it, he suddenly widened his eyes. The action of closing the door was interrupted as he abruptly bowed to Qin Muye. His voice, louder than before, said, “I’m sorry, sir. Please don’t make things difficult for me. I can’t let you in. Please contact the owner of this house. I’m truly sorry.”
Qin Muye: ??
Later, Chu Ming gently closed the door.
Locked outside by Chu Ming, Qin Muye felt puzzled. He calmly smoothed out the slight wrinkles on his sleeves, but his mood had already calmed down.
He could see it.
Chu Ming was resisting him, even fearing him.
What else could it be?
Qin Muye chuckled, filled with sarcasm. He had successfully made Rong Qiu’s bed partner feel threatened.
Feeling threatened, huh? A good term.
It seemed that Chu Ming’s position in Rong Qiu’s heart was just that.
If Rong Qiu cared about Chu Ming, Chu Ming wouldn’t be on guard against him like a wolf.
Thinking this way, Qin Muye turned and walked towards his car with a pleased mood.
Unexpectedly, when he turned around, he saw a black car parked in front of his own. Leaning against the car lights, a man with one hand crossed over his chest and the other holding a cigarette was staring at him. The cigarette had burned halfway while the beta stared at him.
Qin Muye suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Originally, today was specifically to find Rong Qiu, and now, suddenly meeting Rong Qiu’s face, Qin Muye felt a bit at a loss.
But eventually, Rong Qiu made the first move.
He extinguished the cigarette, threw it into a specially made cigarette trash can under the tree, and looked at him with a seemingly calm gaze. However, the voice carried a low and impatient tone, “Did Commander Qin deliberately come to bully my people?”
