Chapter 21: Sneaking Away

When Dong Du rushed to the school, all the classmates in the classroom had already gone to the cooking class. Only Ling Zhuo sat in the first seat, waiting for Dong Du. Seeing him arrive, Ling Zhuo sighed helplessly, “Little Highness.”
“Teacher, I didn’t mean to. I really forgot. I’m sorry.” Dong Du stood honestly, ready to accept Ling Zhuo’s criticism.
But Ling Zhuo didn’t scold him. On his smart ring, a small screen displayed the comments section of this month’s government disclosure. There were comments from the soldiers who participated in the last inspection, vividly describing Dong Du’s performance in the last inspection.
The nested comments on this level were unbelievable. There were praises, doubts, but after spending a few days with Dong Du, Ling Zhuo believed the comments on the message board. Therefore, he didn’t blame Dong Du. His goal was not here, or rather, he was not suitable for the omega specialized school.

“Thank you, teacher. I will discuss it with my parents when I go back this time.” Dong Du bid farewell to Ling Zhuo and leisurely headed to the cooking class.
The teacher didn’t hold any grudge against Dong Du. After hearing his explanation, the teacher allowed him to enter the classroom.

“The little prince is really pitiful, being wrongly accused for so long. Fortunately, the general has keen insight; otherwise, he would carry this black pot for the rest of his life.”
Dong Du ignored all of this; it wasn’t the little prince who did it, that’s all he cared about. But for Gneville, it didn’t matter. Her gland was already destroyed.
In the dessert class, Dong Du was paired with Li Sheng. He walked directly to Li Sheng’s side, where Li Sheng was making batter for a cake. Li Sheng didn’t say anything but gave Dong Du a thumbs up.
Dong Du couldn’t help with making desserts, so he sat next to Li Sheng, supporting his chin with his hands. He whispered, “Has anyone troubled you?”
“Qin Yi?” Li Sheng whispered back, “He won’t trouble me. Don’t worry; although he kept me close, he is actually good to me.”
Dong Du didn’t quite understand, but he just nodded. His mood was complicated now, and he didn’t have the energy to explore the deeper reasons. He sighed, “Li Sheng, is there any way for me to drop out of school without parental consent?”
“Well, I’m not sure. Why?” Li Sheng, doing the work of two people, quickly replied, “What’s wrong?”
“I want to go on patrol.” Dong Du didn’t hide it. “But the general won’t allow me.”
“Then just go secretly.” Li Sheng said mysteriously, “Back then, Qin Yi also didn’t allow me to go far, so I sneaked out. I’ll make you some big bread; take them with you.”
Dong Du felt a sudden sense of enlightenment. He clapped his hands, “You’re right! As long as I stand out, the general can’t stop me from joining the army!”
After discussing it with Li Sheng, he quickly made a few large breads with the remaining ingredients. After school in the evening, Dong Du brought the large breads back to the High Tower.
He returned with a bag of bread, looking sneaky. However, when he reached the door, he saw several people standing at the entrance, and his heart panicked as he tried to hide the bread. But there were no cracks in the walls of this floor, and he had nowhere to hide, so he had no choice but to bravely walk over.
“Hey, Little Highness, hard work in class.” Han Lin grinned and greeted Dong Du first.
Dong Du pretended not to feel uneasy and waved to them, “Why are you here?”
“The patrol ship is about to set sail tomorrow, so we came to tell you.” Hanchester glanced at the bag in his hand. “What are you carrying?”
“It’s a gift from Li Sheng to me.” Dong Du opened the door and invited everyone in, quickly letting the raptor take the bag from Hanchester.
“Are you using the same patrol ship for this patrol?” Dong Du casually asked.
Han Lin, quick-tongued, spoke before Hanchester could respond, explaining the model and where it was docked. In the end, he sighed, “I really hope that the Little Highness can go with us. The Yars Empire has opened up the star field for us to continue patrolling. If we have to wait for the next time, who knows when it will be.”
Dong Du’s eyes were full of the patrol ship’s model and where it was docked. They talked about the dock, but he didn’t pay attention. Everyone came to bid farewell briefly, and after a little chit-chat, they all left.
Hanchester walked at the end of the crowd. After they walked away, he came back specifically to tell Dong Du something at the door. “Wait for my return, and I’ll tell you a secret, okay?”
“Can’t you tell me now?” Dong Du looked at Hanchester.
Hanchester smiled, “No, not now.”
He planned to bring a gift back from that piece of land for Dong Du since Dong Du had a strong interest in that area.
After saying this, Hanchester left. Dong Du watched him enter the elevator and then quickly closed the door, put the bread made by Li Sheng into the bag. There was no need to bring too much when secretly bringing things on board, so he wore a protective suit, brought some food, and his own long bag.
In the middle of the night, he quietly left his room, carrying his bag, taking the elevator down, bypassing the research institute, and arriving at the place where the patrol ship was docked.
He initially thought there would be no one inside the patrol ship. However, the lights were on, and the ship’s door was wide open. Countless researchers were testing its performance and various functions. Dong Du even saw Gneville among the crowd.
Entering through the main door would undoubtedly be discovered. Dong Du climbed into the exhaust vent of the living area and quickly slipped into a living cabin.
There was nothing much to inspect in the living cabin, but to avoid being discovered, Dong Du chose to hide under the bed. The bed had also been cleaned by cleaning robots, and there was no trace of dust.
The wait was long, and unconsciously, he fell asleep in the living cabin.
He woke up in a tremor. The vibration was caused by the patrol ship passing through the atmosphere. The patrol ship had already set sail.
He discreetly scanned the surroundings. There was no one inside the living cabin, so he climbed out confidently. However, just as he stood up, the door of the living cabin’s bathroom opened with a click. He didn’t even have time to hide again and could only make eye contact with Zhu Di, who was standing at the bathroom door. “What a coincidence.”
Zhu Di scanned Dong Du from top to bottom, “Running away, violating the rules.”
“Ah, well.” Dong Du awkwardly scratched his curly hair, “I haven’t joined the army, so the military rules don’t apply to me, right?”
Zhu Di ignored him, bypassed him, and picked up his coat from the bed. There was a knock on the door of the living cabin. Dong Du hadn’t reacted yet and was thrown back under the bed by Zhu Di, who then sat on the bed. His long legs blocked Dong Du’s way, and he said coldly, “Come in.”
“General.” The person who came was Hanchester. “The Prime Minister of the Yars Empire requested a meeting before landing.”
“Agree to it,” Zhu Di replied, “but request the meeting to be on our patrol ship.”
“Yes.” Hanchester responded and then retreated.
The door of the living cabin closed again. Zhu Di moved to sit at the table. “Don’t let anyone find out that you’re on the patrol ship.”
Dong Du crawled out from under the bed, and the tight-fitting protective suit outlined his slender waistline. Zhu Di glanced at him and then averted his gaze. “In the living cabin, do not emit pheromones, and you are not allowed to go out.”
“So, the two of us share a bed. How should we sleep?” Dong Du got up and patted his knees. “Should you change places?”
“Changing places will arouse suspicion from others. You sleep under the bed.” Zhu Di glanced at the bed, not sure if he was joking. “Anyway, you seem to like it and can sleep there.”
“I don’t like it at all.” Dong Du murmured softly, “How unlucky.”
Zhu Di ignored him. He pushed open the door of the living cabin and went out. Now that he’s gone, it’s a good opportunity for me to change places. Dong Du walked to the door and tried to push it, but the living cabin door was locked, and it wouldn’t budge.
Is he really planning to trap me in here? Dong Du thought, confused.
Dong Du stood by the door for a while before reluctantly accepting the reality. He found clean bedding in the cabinet and laid it out on the floor in the gap between the wardrobe and the bed. He couldn’t possibly sleep under the bed.
When Zhu Di returned from the war meeting with a small plate of food, Dong Du was sound asleep on his makeshift bed, and his backpack, which he carried with him, was opened, revealing several dry bread inside.
Zhu Di shifted his gaze away from Dong Du, placed the meal tray on the table, and opened the office system on his smart device. Even though they were on the patrol ship, Zhu Di still needed to handle the political affairs of the high tower. Every day, the deputy would send the documents that needed Zhu Di’s attention to his smart device.
He worked on political affairs until late at night. During this time, Dong Du did not wake up once. After organizing the desktop, Zhu Di also washed up and laid down on the bed.
After lying down for a while, there were rustling sounds coming from Dong Du’s small bed. Dong Du crawled out from under the blanket, went to the bathroom, and then naturally slipped into Zhu Di’s bed.
Zhu Di: “…”
Is this the Little Prince’s new trick?
Dong Du tucked himself in the bed and then didn’t move again.
Zhu Di had never experienced lying in bed with an omega. He smelled the faint peach fragrance from Dong Du’s body, an unconscious release of pheromones during sleep. Zhu Di suddenly jumped off the bed. He stared at Dong Du for a long time, then laid down expressionlessly on Dong Du’s makeshift bed.
For Zhu Di, the bed that was just right for Dong Du was too small for him. He had to curl up, and the warmth from his body seemed to release pheromones. No matter how hard Zhu Di tried, he could still smell that peach scent.
This scent confused his mind, and in a daze, he seemed to have dreamed of Dong Du when he was a child, a little bundle of joy playing with him. He forced him to climb a tree to pick fruit, but he was too small at that time. He accidentally fell and injured his knee. Dong Du cried while using his own handkerchief to bandage his wound.
Although he was cute when he was a child, he grew up to be arrogant and unreasonable. Zhu Di once thought he had changed, but when he arrived at the Black Gold Fortress, Dong Du seemed to be the same as when he was a child.
