After Transmigrating into a Book, I Became the Strongest Omega Chapter 34

Chapter 34 Inquiry

“The moment he pulled me out of the abyss, anything I do for him is worth it,” Xia En said firmly. “Bubu, he remembers me. He once kissed the back of my hand.”

“Have you heard about the current situation?” Brovill asked, “There is a piece of land mysteriously crossing over from space. There is a new race threatening all of humanity on it. If there is turmoil in Yars, everything will be over.”

It became quiet over there. Dong Du questioned the raptor, “Are you having trouble?”

“Raptor won’t have trouble!” The raptor’s mechanical face changed to an expression of frustration. “They just aren’t talking on the other side.”

Dong Du nodded, then listened quietly. After a while, Xia En’s somewhat gnashing voice came from there, “Even so, I can’t tolerate Jarvis staying in that abyss. As long as Novisane dies, as long as he dies, and someone supports Jarvis, everything will be fine!”

“So how do you plan for Novisane to die? Let the Emperor of Clos kill him?” Brovill questioned, “What’s the use of doing this?”

Dong Du turned his head and looked at Novisane. Even though they were discussing how to harm him, he seemed indifferent.

“Then what should I do? I’m just an omega, a useless omega abandoned by my family. They want me to marry that old man older than my father. It was Jarvis who saved me. He loves me. He loves me more than anyone else!” Xia En was somewhat desperate. “Bubu, I love him too.”

Brovill said something more, but Dong Du was already bored of listening. In the end, there was a noise from there, and Xia En slammed the door and left.

Novisane’s fingers tapped on the armrest of the chair. He asked Dong Du slowly as he stood up, “So, why are you listening to this?”

“Just understanding the enemy.” Dong Du shrugged. “I thought it was a revolutionary story, but it turned out to be a love story.”

He said that and left, heading straight to his room on the twenty-fourth floor. As soon as he arrived, he saw three soldiers standing at the door, one of them being Zhu Di’s temporary officer.

“Little Highness.” The other person greeted him first and then handed him an A4 paper.

It was a very simple search warrant, stamped with the bright red seal of the High Tower Command Room.

Dong Du didn’t know why they wanted to search his room, but Zhu Di wouldn’t do things without reason, so he cooperated and opened the door.

The three people searched in a gentle but thorough manner, taking care of every nook and cranny. After the search, the temporary officer apologized to Dong Du and quickly left.

Dong Du scratched his head. He wanted to ask them what they were looking for, but in the end, he didn’t ask. He had come back to contemplate the matter of Xia En, whether he would pose a threat to himself, and whether he would jeopardize his future living environment. He didn’t want to deal with zombies and insects endlessly just after escaping.

However, after their search, he lost interest in contemplating. Without evidence, he couldn’t control Xia En’s actions. It was better to go out and see if he could find any clues.

Brovill’s blessing might be useful. Just as Dong Du reached the entrance of the High Tower, he unexpectedly saw the alpha who had always been tracking him. The alpha hurriedly bypassed the High Tower and headed towards the direction of the research institute.

In that direction, besides the research institute, there were vast forests.

Dong Du was adept at escaping and hiding. When tracking people, he was not as rough as Meng Ruan. He almost had no footsteps or presence, and he smoothly followed Meng Ruan deep into the woods.

As he expected, Meng Ruan was indeed Xia En’s spy. He was curious why Meng Ruan, as well as Xi Yuan and Chu Xuhuan, were willing to do things for Xia En.

Meng Ruan was still three steps away from Xia En when Xia En rushed over, and he ran into Meng Ruan’s arms. With a hint of crying in his voice, Xia En said, “Little Ruan, I missed you so much.”

Wow, his brother’s hair is so green!

Dong Du couldn’t help but give a thumbs up to Xia En in his heart. Clearly, he had collapsed before, but now he could still act so well. His psychological resilience was quite good!

“I miss you too, Xia En.” Meng Ruan rubbed his hair. “Are you okay recently? Has His Majesty bullied you?”

Xia En came out of his arms, raised his hand to gently rub his eyes, sounding aggrieved, “I’m fine. It’s just difficult not to see you every day. If Xi Yuan knows that I saw you, he will definitely be angry. By then, I will have even less chance to see you.”

“His Majesty is…” Meng Ruan angrily wanted to scold, but Xia En covered his mouth.

“Don’t speak, Little Ruan.” Xia En’s face looked sad. “If he finds out, he will make things difficult for you.”

“Clearly, I met you first!” Meng Ruan could only express powerless anger.

“Rest assured, I will definitely escape in the future, and then we can be together.” Xia En looked determined. “Little Ruan, you have to help me then, for our future.”

“I will arrange it.” Meng Ruan responded.

They were like a pair of tragic lovebirds, just missing the scene of them holding their heads and crying.

After the two separated, Dong Du did not follow them. He went directly to the research institute to see Hanchester.

This place had always been taken care of by Gneville. When he came, Gneville was changing Hanchester’s new drip. Seeing him, she wasn’t surprised and smiled, “Little Highness, why are you here again today? The chief officer’s vital signs are stable, and his physical functions are good. The doctor has prescribed new medication, and it is likely that it can anesthetize the parasitic organism.”

“So you mean it might be possible to remove the parasitic organism?” Dong Du asked excitedly. “When?”

“I will let you know when the time comes.” Seeing him so excited, Gneville couldn’t help but worry. “Little Highness, I haven’t seen you with the General recently. Won’t he be jealous if you come to see the officer every day?”

In fact, she suspected that Dong Du had fallen in love with the officer.

“Jealous?” Dong Du pondered the word several times before remembering that there were rumors in the Black Gold Fortress that he was Zhu Di’s little lover. Explaining it to others was useless, and he didn’t want to explain. He just said, “The General won’t.”

Gneville breathed a sigh of relief. “Then I’ll go first. You should go back early. There won’t be any problems here with the officer.”

Dong Du nodded, and he followed Gneville out. When they walked out of the research institute and turned the corner, Dong Du suddenly grabbed Gneville and crouched in the corner of the wall, “Shh.”

Gneville nervously covered her mouth.

Enemy attack?

Her eyes wandered around, but there was nothing. She didn’t see anything and wanted to ask Dong Du, but saw his serious expression, his gaze fixed on the corner of the wall, as if he was attentively listening to something.

Her heartbeat gradually calmed down, and then she heard it too—the voice of His Majesty, arguing with someone.

Xi Yuan: “I saw it all. What else do you have to explain? You even let him go first. Why, afraid I’ll hurt him?”

Xia En’s voice sounded aggrieved and angry, “I let him go because I’m afraid of you in your current state. You know, when I was stranded with Clos, it was Meng Ruan who saved me. He liked me, what could I do? I didn’t want it either. Don’t you know, I only like you?”

Xia En said those three words “I like you” in a particularly soft voice, with a sense of reluctance to admit it, accompanied by a bit of “I’m not worthy of you” self-doubt. This was most satisfying to a man’s self-esteem, stirring their hearts with pity.

Gneville’s ears turned red as she listened. She gently pulled Dong Du’s sleeve and whispered, “Your Highness, isn’t this inappropriate?”

Dong Du stood firm as a rock. “What’s wrong with it?”

If it weren’t for a coincidence, he wouldn’t have known that Xia En was so cunning. How could these cannon fodders believe him? He really wanted to check the original story now.

The plot was probably about Xia En stepping on the heads of Xi Yuan, Chu Xuhuan, and other cannon fodders to reach a happy ending with Jarvis, right?

Speaking of cannon fodders, he had sent messages to Chu Xuhuan for a long time, but there was still no response.

Dong Du’s thoughts went off track, and the two arguing people were already hugging, evidently reconciled. Gneville’s mind was still on Xi Yuan and Xia En; she leaned against the wall, peeked out to look, and then suddenly recoiled, “They kissed!”

“Really?” Dong Du quietly went to check, but they had already walked away hand in hand.

He didn’t mind not seeing it, and he stood up, brushing off the dust from his body, returning to the High Tower with Gneville.

In the High Tower hall, many people were standing, with Zhu Di leading the group, talking to Xi Yuan. Xia En, like a quail, was hiding behind Xi Yuan.

Dong Du didn’t want to get involved in Xia En’s affairs, but unexpectedly, Zhu Di suddenly called him, “Little Highness, please come over for a moment.”

His tone was not negotiable, and when he said this, even Xi Yuan and the others looked over. Dong Du had to bid farewell to Gneville and walked over, asking, “Why did you call me?”

“Did you go to the prison the day before yesterday morning?” Zhu Di stood in a standard military posture, staring at him with a cold gaze.

“I did, but the gatekeeper said I needed an admission pass, so I left. This little son of the Duke can testify to that.” Dong Du didn’t know why he asked about this and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”

Zhu Di and the officer exchanged glances, and the officer immediately left. Zhu Di then looked behind Xi Yuan, “Mr. Xia En, may I ask if you went to the prison the afternoon before yesterday?”

“I did.” Xia En’s forehead rested on Xi Yuan’s shoulder. “But I didn’t do anything. I just wanted to go in and see. Xi Yuan agreed.”

“It is indeed something I promised him.” Xi Yuan patted Xia En’s trembling hand.

Zhu Di didn’t ask any more questions. Soon, the officer, accompanied by a confused Meng Ruan, came over. Upon seeing Meng Ruan, Xi Yuan frowned, and Xia En didn’t even lift his head. Zhu Di completely ignored their emotions and asked in a formal tone, “Mr. Meng, can you prove that Little Highness went to the prison the morning before yesterday but did not enter?”

Unexpectedly, the question was about this. Meng Ruan blushed immediately, “I, I didn’t follow him!”

“It’s not about investigating you now, it’s about me.” Dong Du patted him on the shoulder. “Didn’t you take some photos or something?”

“I did, I did.” Meng Ruan awkwardly pulled out his smart bracelet and showed it to Zhu Di. Then he said, “He really didn’t go in.”

Originally, he intended to send it to Xia En, telling him that he had been monitoring well. Unexpectedly, it turned out to have this kind of use.

Zhu Di glanced briefly and then turned to Xi Yuan, saying, “Your Majesty, we have clarified the situation. Currently, Mr. Xia En is the primary suspect. Please hand him over to the High Tower for a timely investigation.”
