After Transmigrating into a Book, I Became the Strongest Omega Chapter 41

Chapter 41: This Isn’t an Illness

<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>

Zhu Di tied Dong Du up with his own tie. He laid on the airbag like a piece of salted fish, his mind feeling like it was covered in paste. He could clearly feel only fever, dehydration, and a strong desire to touch Zhu Di. Everything else felt like it was separated by a membrane.

Zhu Di sat far away from him, sounding like an emotionless lecturing machine. “Your Highness, you lack common sense. You’ve never used your own pheromones for many years, and now suddenly, using them excessively can forcibly induce your heat.”

He used to not even know he had glands, let alone how to use them. Angry, Dong Du didn’t want to talk to him. Why was he sitting so far away? He couldn’t even touch him with his toes!

But he also really wanted to know what this heat was. Was it a kind of illness, like a high fever and dehydration?

Zhu Di didn’t hear his response and continued, “Suddenly entering heat is a dangerous thing, especially in the same room with an alpha.”

Due to the posture issue, Dongdu’s entire body had become numb. He responded in his mind, “Oh, so this is also an infectious disease? Do alphas eliminate the pathogen directly once they get sick to prevent transmission? So, are you hesitating whether to eliminate me?”

“Your Highness, are you still awake?”

This was the day Zhu Di spoke the most!

Dong Du moved his feet to make a little noise, indicating that he was still awake. His mind wasn’t very clear; he didn’t notice that Zhu Di’s voice was quite different from usual. It was as if he hadn’t drunk water for a long time; his throat was hoarse.

“We can’t stay here anymore. Can you still run?” Zhu Di groped over, hands almost trembling, and injected a dose of medicine into him. ‘You must go to the research institute for isolation as soon as possible.’

Is it really a contagious disease?

Dong Du couldn’t care less about being angry. He coughed forcefully a few times before he could speak. ‘Let go of me; I can still manage.’

Hearing him speak, Zhu Di breathed a sigh of relief. At least Dong Du was still conscious.

He released his grip on Dong Du. Dong Du moved his wrists a few times and suddenly threw himself onto Zhu Di. Zhu Di, with his back to Dong Du, now had Dong Du hanging completely on his back.

‘Why do I feel you smell so good?’ Dong Du’s nose sniffed at Zhu Di’s neck. His hands clung to Zhu Di’s chest. ‘Did you secretly use perfume? Your pheromones didn’t have a specific smell before.’

Stiff as a statue, Zhu Di turned around after a moment, lifting Dong Du off and pressing him underneath. He breathed heavily and was scorching hot. However, in an instant, he forced himself to step back, then asked softly, ‘Your Highness, are you ready?’

The long package behind Dong Du caused him back pain. He became a bit clearer in his mind. ‘I’m ready.’

His hand had already gripped the long package.

In the darkness, a faint light flashed, and the airbag suddenly expanded, pushing away the debris, breaking through the ground.

‘Ah, not dead.’ The humanoid creature with the same face as Dong Du exclaimed.

Dong Du’s long package lifted from behind, touching the top of the airbag. The airbag instantly burst open. Zhu Di held Dong Du, taking a step forward and leaping out.

‘Your Highness, don’t linger in the battle, retreat at full speed.’

Dong Du nodded, the long package still in his hand, sparking on the ground. The humanoid insectoids guarding the mother insect didn’t intend to chase them. They smoothly rushed into the guardian area of the giant beetle.

The beetle’s sharp scythe-like legs came towards them. Dong Du flipped his wrist, and the long package soared to meet them, unexpectedly chopping the leg into two segments. The long package was damaged, revealing dark metal inside.

Zhu Di glanced at the long package with his peripheral vision but focused entirely on the current situation.

It’s easy to rush in but difficult to rush out. The two of them were surrounded by the giant beetle. Back to back, they panted heavily.

Dong Du’s face was covered in sweat, and at times of intense tension, human potential is limitless. He propped the long package in front of him. ‘I haven’t run like this in a long time.’

As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly rushed out. The long package tore open, revealing a nearly horse-length machete inside.

He held the knife with one hand, slicing the oncoming beetle into three sections.

Zhu Di had mentioned before that the long package, too heavy for even him to swing, was effortlessly wielded by Dong Du.

A whistle suddenly came from above. The two looked up to see Novisane holding the door of the flying ship, coldly staring at them. He bit the lollipop, making a crisp sound. ‘Little Peach, I don’t want to see you and someone else acting in a play where you both die.’

“Who’s going to die!” Dong Du spat. “These beetles can fly!”

As he spoke, two rope ladders dropped from the flying ship. Dong Du and Zhu Di ran over, grabbed the rope ladders, and the flying ship rapidly ascended. In just a moment, the beetles also started flying.

The flying ship’s wings extended a row of gun muzzles, and a dense spray blocked the beetles’ pursuit.

Dong Du and Zhu Di were pulled into the flying ship. Dong Du had just stood firm when Novisane sniffed him, then suddenly pushed him into the tail compartment of the flying ship, a detention room.

Dong Du was inexplicably confined. Although he could see the outside through a small window, he couldn’t hear anything. He only saw Novisane questioning Zhu Di with a stern face, while Zhu Di remained expressionless.

They argued for a while, and then neither of them said anything.

Ignoring everyone, Novisane sat at the entrance of the confinement room, chewing four lollipops in a row, maintaining composure. Only then did he activate the communication in the confinement room. “Little Peach, feeling uncomfortable?”

“Just thirsty.” Dong Du’s throat was so dry that it seemed to emit smoke. He weakly asked, “What about the others?”

“They’ve already retreated ahead.” Novisane opened the confinement room’s door slightly, swiftly threw in a lollipop, and closed it promptly.

A hint of peach fragrance leaked from inside, sweet enough to startle anyone.

Dong Du unwrapped the lollipop and placed it in his mouth, commenting, “You really can’t change your weird taste, can you?”

This lollipop carried the scent of Novisane’s pheromones.

“I thought this lollipop could at least provide you with some comfort.” Novisane chuckled lightly. “Little Peach, when I go back this time, I must propose to Xi Yuan.”

Dong Du: “…”

He didn’t want to deal with this lunatic.

The flying ship quickly returned to the main fleet of Yars, but Dong Du was still confined without being released.

However, in this short period, his feelings changed again. Earlier, he was both hot and thirsty; now, it felt like being in a sauna. He was hot, thirsty, but sweating all over, and his consciousness was unclear!

This illness was too fierce; Dong Du suspected he might die from it.

Lost in his thoughts for a short while, the confinement room’s door opened. Fina came in, carrying a tray. Before Dong Du could react, she injected the suppressant from the tray into him—an inhibitor.

The suppressant worked quickly, but the aftereffects of the heat were evident. Dong Du felt extremely weak all over, and Fina supported him, feeding him a cup of water.

“Why don’t you wear a mask?” Dong Du, having had the water, asked with puzzlement.

“I’m an omega, and your pheromones don’t affect me.” Fina handed him the tray. “Here are three more suppressants. Once you feel abnormal, use them. I’ll come again during dinner.”

Fina locked the door and left. Dong Du began to wonder. So, this feverish disease only infects alphas? He felt like Zhu Di and Novisane were avoiding him.

The suppressant brought by Fina was very effective. With one injection, he almost felt no abnormal sensations. The pain in his waist disappeared, the legs were no longer sore, and even his mind was clear.

He was now isolated here, not knowing the situation outside. Holding his machete, he sighed, “Little Treasure, do you think I have a chance to survive? I can’t be in such a miserable state. I haven’t enjoyed good days yet…”

He chattered to himself for a while, his stomach growling. Wondering why Fina hadn’t brought him dinner yet, he lifted his head and found Novisane looking at him through the small window.

“Scaring people will scare them to death!” Dong Du rolled his eyes, putting the little Treasure under his buttocks.

Novisane put on a mask to isolate the scent, opened the confinement room’s door, and placed the meal in front of Dong Du. “You spoke so enthusiastically; I didn’t dare disturb you.”

“Whatever.” Dong Du hummed, eating his meal heartily. Looking at Fina and Novisane, he always felt that this person was a bit exaggerated, but now it wasn’t important.

“What’s the next plan?” Dong Du asked while eating.

“General Zhu is reporting the situation to Xi Yuan. We captured a live larva from Xu Yiling. A group of people will return to the Black Gold Fortress. We won’t land again until the results from Xu Yiling come out.” Novisane circled the lollipop. “You also have to go back.”

“Oh.” Dong Du responded indifferently.

It was a busy time now, and Novisane had forcibly squeezed in time to come. Dong Du injected himself with another suppressant after Novisane left, holding Little Treasure, feeling drowsy. Someone gently knocked on the confinement room’s door. “Little Highness.”

Tired from the day, Dong Du was very sleepy. He yawned and responded in a daze, “Hanchester, why are you here?”

“I’ll stay on the main ship. I might not see you for a long time, so I came to check on you now.” Hanchester dared not open the confinement room’s door; he only opened the communicator. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.” Dong Du rubbed his eyes and sat up. “How are you guys? How are the people who withdrew?”

“Everything is fine on the main ship,” Hanchester patiently replied. “Chu Xuhuan received some injuries, and Meng Ruan may be emotionally affected… the two teams that were sent to deploy probes…”

“What happened?”

“Only Hil survived.”

Dong Du fell silent, recalling Meng Ruan and his words.

“Take care of yourself while staying behind,” Dong Du changed the subject. “I’ll come back after treating the illness.”

“Illness?” Hanchester was surprised. “What happened to you?”

“It’s what Zhu Di said. I abused pheromones, causing a disease called ‘heat,’ and they isolated me for it.” Dong Du, distressed, grabbed his curly hair, wishing he had never learned to use pheromones.

“This… Hahaha!” Hanchester suddenly burst into laughter, shaking his entire body. “Little Highness, this isn’t an illness.”
