Ye Mu tiredly laid down on the bed, listening to the distant footsteps outside the house, feeling that several places on his body were getting more and more painful.
Not only his body but even his heart seemed to be cut by something, causing him to feel a bone-crushing pain.
The cigarette between his fingers was still burning, the flames slowly dying out.
He lowered his eyes and woodenly pressed the hot cigarette butt into his hand.
The sound of grimacing was softly heard, followed by the smell of his skin being roasted by the fire.
Ye Mu, however, did not realize it; he just bowed his head and did not move.
He thought it really should be over.
The next day, not long after going to work, Ye Mu handed his resignation report to Liu Yi.
He decided to leave and go to a place without Yan Chen.
Liu Yi is a bit surprised. “You just changed your job, and now you want to leave. Is there something wrong at home?”
Ye Mu shook his head, “ I want to go to a place far away.”
Liu Yi looked at him, “Just like that?”
Ye Mu looked at her with a blank face, “Just like that.”
Liu Yi lowered her head, as if she thought of something, “The boss just happened to want to start a fund project in Uruk recently, if you don’t mind going far away, how about going along to assist?”
Chen Mo explained this morning that she should find someone to accompany him on a business trip, but the businessmen in the company all refused once they heard that it was to Uruk. She was having a headache and it would be best if Ye Mu agreed.
Ye Mu originally wanted to refuse, but when he looked at Liu Yi’s beseeching eyes, he softened his heart a little. “How long is it going to take?”
Liu Yi looked hopeful and immediately said, “Three months.”
Three months was neither long nor short.
Ye Mu thought about it and agreed.
Chen Mo had been very busy today. When he received a call from his girlfriend, he was typing an important document with his fingers snapping and didn’t listen very carefully.
His girlfriend was angry and was compelled to yell, “Chen Mo!”
Chen Mo’s ears were ringing, and he begrudgingly divided his attention to her for a little bit. He said to the microphone in a neutral manner, “Yes.”
“Did you hear what I said!?” The person on the other end of the phone increased the volume of their voice and yelled loudly.
Chen Mo furrowed his brows, his face indifferent, “What did you say?”
“I said I want to break up with you!” she repeated it again, as if she were afraid the other party couldn’t hear her.
Chen Mo tsked, annoyed, “I’m busy; I don’t have time to mess with you.”
The girlfriend was also annoyed, “I’m not making a scene; I really want to break up with you.”
Chen Mo listened to the other party’s serious tone, and in a rare moment, he put down the work in his hand, “Say what you have to say properly.”
His girlfriend snorted coldly, “I would like to speak properly ah, you listen.”
Chen Mo was not humble, “I’m listening, speak.”
His girlfriend’s tone relaxed a little, but the topic remained the same, only her tone was much more serious, “Chen Mo, I don’t want to continue.”
Chen Mo closed his eyes, “What is the reason.”
His girlfriend said, “You’ve always been cold to me lately.”
Chen Mo did not argue but replied in a magnetic voice, “After this period of time, it will be good. Be obedient.”
His girlfriend used to believe what he said, but this time it didn’t work, “You said the same thing last time, how much time do I have to waste with you?”
Chen Mo had been dating his girlfriend for more than a year. It was by far the most persistent relationship and also the one he was most attentive to. Apart from not paying attention to her during this period of time, he really was warm and gentle at all other times.
To be honest, he really didn’t want to break up.
“You first calm down. It’s not easy for us to date until now.” Chen Mo was not very good at coaxing women, but this time, he had already stretched his patience to the extreme.
“It’s not easy.” His girlfriend listened and thought back to this year and sighed.
Chen Mo wanted to stay, “If there are shortcomings, I will change them in the future.”
His girlfriend listened. She was silent for quite a long time and then coldly said, “I’m with Wu Ze Cheng.”
“Who?”
“Wu Ze Cheng.” The girlfriend spat out the words clearly.
Chen Mo suspected that he misheard. Wu Ze Cheng was one of his buddies. Wu Ze Cheng was not as tall as him, not as handsome as him, not as rich as him, and when he was in the same school, he could only carry his shoes. Now, his woman wants to dump him for such a goon?
“Are you sure you’re in your right mind now?” Chen Mo looked incredulous.
His girlfriend took a deep breath and solemnly said, “I am very awake.”
Chen Mo didn’t want to hold back any longer. He immediately smiled coldly and changed to his old mean face: “You tell me where I am not better than him?”
His girlfriend can’t stand his arrogance, “To tell you the truth, Chen Mo, you’re good at everything, it’s just ……”.
She was halfway through her sentence and thought about whether to say it or not.
The air around Chen Mo was chilling, “ Just what?”
The girlfriend stammered for a while, “You understand.”
Chen Mo did not have the heart to play riddles with her, “I do not understand.”
“Do you have to make me say it?”
“Yes, today you have to say it.”
Chen Mo was also born with a strong desire to win; at this point in time, compared to breaking up with his girlfriend, he was more concerned about which aspect of himself was not as good as Wu Ze Cheng.
His girlfriend was forced to tell the truth and awkwardly said, “Chen Mo, you can’t do it in that area.”
Chen Mo half squinted a pair of black eyes, “Which area?”
The girlfriend was speechless, “Where else could it be?”
Chen Mo frowned, and the corners of his mouth tightened slightly when he reacted.
His girlfriend was afraid of hurting his self-esteem and did not continue after finishing, giving him some time to think.
Chen Mo had a stinky face. He gritted his teeth and stiffened for dozens of seconds, and the arc of his mouth was hostile, “So you’re just going to dump me for the fucking sake of those things in bed?”
The ex-girlfriend didn’t want to beat around the bush, “Although I know it’s hard for you to accept it for a while, it’s the truth.”
Chen Mo was unwilling and got to the bottom of it, “Tell me where you saw that I couldn’t do it?”
The girlfriend shrugged, “A lot of ah, such as the length ah, thickness ah, and the length of time ……”
The more Chen Mo listened, the more breathless he became. He couldn’t help mutter “f*ck”. The other party hadn’t finished her sentence, but he violently cut off the phone, directly swung the cell phone onto the ground, and smashed it into a powdered pulp.
Liu Yi came in at this time.
“Mr. Chen, I’ve done what you explained to me this morning.”

Liu Yi glanced at him and replied, “Ye Mu.”

Liu Yi was not panicked. “Uruk recently broke out in a civil war with smoke filling the air. No one is willing to go along; only Ye Mu is willing.”
Chen Mo ground his teeth in hatred and spat out clearly, “Replace him!”
Liu Yi had tossed and turned all morning over this, and now she was also unhappy, disliking Chen Mo, “There’s no one to replace him.”
Chen Mo was furious, “Who knows what’s in the minds of these gays, if I get bent, are you going to take full responsibility?”
Liu Yi lifted her glasses, glanced at him carefully, and objectively commented, “Mr. Chen, I heard that gay people like to find those who are better in that area.”
Chen Mo’s handsome face twitched. After a long period of silence, his fingers trembled as he pointed at the door and spat viciously at Liu Yi, “Get out!”
Liu Yi was quite sensible and immediately slipped away.
