Don’t Sink Chapter 50

Chapter 50: “Add Kissing”

Shen Yao repeated the words spoken by Guan Shu, with a slightly puzzled expression. “Leave Yan Zhixing?” he asked. “I have never been with him, so why use the term ‘leave’?”

Guan Shu seemed to enjoy hearing these words, showing a pleased expression as his brows relaxed. But Shen Yao’s next sentence poured cold water on him without reservation.

“Guan Shu, maybe you have a small misunderstanding about our current relationship,” Shen Yao softly explained with ruthless words. “We are not dating now.” He continued, “We haven’t reconciled, we are just getting along harmoniously, okay?”

Guan Shu’s excited heart sank heavily. He slowly released his hand that was resting on Shen Yao’s waist, his eyes turning dark as he questioned one after another, “Are you playing with me again? What am I then? Just an unnamed lover?”

He had a clear understanding of himself, causing Shen Yao to raise an eyebrow in surprise, nodding and saying, “Indeed, there is no name or official status, and you are not the only alpha, but is that important?”

Guan Shu restrained himself, gritting his teeth and asking, “Are these things not important? You have broken up with Xu Yibai, why can’t I be your boyfriend?”

“So, you can’t accept it?” Shen Yao found the answer in the anger emanating from Guan Shu’s eyes. He lowered his head, his gaze lingering on the ring on his finger.

“Fine then.”

Shen Yao sighed with regret, lifting his right hand, ready to remove the ring that still held little warmth.

“No, you’re not allowed to take it off! You said you wouldn’t throw it away!”

However, Guan Shu tightly held onto Shen Yao’s hand, exerting so much force that several fingers were pressed together.

Shen Yao furrowed his brow lightly and said frankly, “But if you can’t accept me maintaining this kind of relationship with Yan Zhixing, then I have no choice.”

Time seemed to stretch out, and Guan Shu’s breathing sounded unusually heavy. Shen Yao’s expression, on the other hand, remained calm. If he dared to say no, he would be mercilessly kicked out.

After a long silence, Guan Shu asked, “Is your relationship with Yan Zhixing just a transaction without feelings?”

“Yes, my game with Yan Zhixing has just begun, and I don’t want it to end so soon,” Shen Yao lowered his head to give him a peck. “I can’t let him know that I have an alpha, so can you bear with it?”

Shen Yao always liked to slow down his speech, whispering softly with a slight upward inflection in his tone, as if there was a hidden smile. Upon careful listening, it felt like an illusion.

Guan Shu knew him too well now. Whenever Shen Yao spoke like this, it meant someone was in for trouble.

He forgot about his lack of official status, and his initial reaction was that Yan Zhixing wasn’t as playul. Shen Yao playing mind games with him might end up causing significant loss.

Guan Shu straightened his lip line into a flat line and fiercely pressed his lips against Shen Yao’s, engulfing him completely into the softness of the couch.

It was a kiss with no escape, like a storm that didn’t allow any breathing space. Shen Yao’s tongue was tingling from the suction, and his arm weakly slid off to hang amidst their intertwined figures.

The furrowed brows on Guan Shu’s face appeared somewhat fierce. Compared to Shen Yao, who couldn’t withstand just a single kiss, Guan Shu’s expression seemed more unsatisfied and discontented.

Even though he was wholeheartedly kissing Shen Yao, he somehow sensed something out of the corner of his eye. He reached out his hand to the side.

His fingers forcefully slipped into the gaps between their intertwined hands, and their hands, with a stark contrast in skin color, easily subdued Shen Yao’s feeble resistance, as if he were tickling him.

“What is it that I can’t help you with, Shen Yao? Or do you think I’m incapable?!” Guan Shu tightly embraced Shen Yao’s waist. In a moment, his loud tone turned low and resonant, like a knight’s declaration. “I’m willing to do anything for you.”

Of course, Shen Yao knew that if Guan Shu were to learn the truth from four years ago, he would probably pick up a gun and swiftly end Yan Zhixing’s life.

“It’s not possible, Guan Shu.”

Shen Yao calmed his breathing, and his lips seemed stained with crimson lipstick. Instead of pushing Guan Shu away, he obediently reached out and wrapped his arms around Guan Shu’s neck. “Some knives aren’t meant to fall just yet.”

***

On a drizzling autumn afternoon, Shen Yao was alone outside when he received a call from Yan Zhixing, which didn’t come as a surprise.

In the latest gossip news at noon, someone captured a photo of Yan Zhixing returning on a private plane in the morning. The picture didn’t even dare to show a single strand of his hair, only the image of the plane.

Factoring this, he contacted Shen Yao as soon as he returned.

Answering the call, Yan Zhixing’s voice was as icy as ever. “Where are you?”

Raindrops fell on Shen Yao’s cheeks as he lowered his head, not evading the answer, which was even shorter than Yan Zhixing’s words. “Cemetery.”

Perhaps it caught him off guard, as there was silence on the other end of the line for three seconds before a cold and ruthless command was issued. “Wait for me.”

Shen Yao hung up the phone and crouched on the ground, earnestly wiping the photo on the tombstone.

Standing up again, Shen Yao walked towards the side where his grandfather’s grave was. He held a wine glass in his hand and emptied it onto the ground without any expression, as if abstaining from alcohol.

Yan Zhixing instructed Chen Shuang to find the address, and when he arrived, Shen Yao was already waiting at the door.

It was raining outside, and Shen Yao was dressed in all black. He didn’t carry an umbrella, keeping his head lowered, staring at his own feet. It seemed like he had melted into the quiet and soundless rain curtain, not even hearing the sound of the car coming to a stop.

Yan Zhixing watched for a while, then rolled down the car window, revealing his three-dimensional and indifferent face. He spoke in a low voice, “Shen Yao.”

“Sorry, I didn’t see you.”

As if it had become an instinctive reaction, upon hearing his voice, Shen Yao unconsciously raised his eyebrows and smiled.

The raindrops flew obliquely as their gazes collided. Shen Yao’s eyes were distinct in black and white, his eyelashes slightly dampened by the raindrops. His dark pupils appeared cleansed as if washed by the rainwater. When he smiled, he seemed like a fragile dream.

It wasn’t until he felt a trace of the cold rain on his lips that Yan Zhixing slowly averted his gaze. Shen Yao had already opened the car door and sat inside. He furrowed his brows slightly, probably finding Shen Yao’s wet hair somewhat bothersome.

Yan Zhixing folded a handkerchief and handed it over to him, while also saying coldly, “If you don’t want to smile, then don’t.”

Shen Yao didn’t hesitate in his movements and accepted the offered handkerchief. Perhaps due to not liking the scent of pheromones being revealed, Yan Zhixing’s personal belongings didn’t have any sandalwood fragrance.

Shen Yao wiped his face and hair, concealing the smile at the corners of his mouth. He smartly didn’t return the handkerchief to Yan Zhixing, instead holding it in his own palm.

When they were together, they didn’t have many words between them. Shen Yao took out his phone and casually played with it. With a swipe, he saw the news about Xu Yibai postponing his concert due to a hand injury, and the comments below were filled with lamentation.

But it was just a postponement, which should indicate that his hand wasn’t severely injured and wouldn’t affect his career.

For dancers, it’s their legs; for pianists, it’s their hands. These things are more important to them than life itself. In this matter, Shen Yao could resonate with Xu Yibai to some extent.

Yan Zhixing was still sitting next to him, openly opening the chat with Xu Yibai.

“There’s no need to be so impulsive, your hand is more important.”

He met with Gu Yunyun, and she helped him intervene in Xu Yibai’s actions. The agreement between them was to make Xu Yibai completely give up. Regarding this relationship, Shen Yao didn’t have much to say. He acknowledged that he had let Xu Yibai down.

Xu Yibai didn’t reply to his message, so Shen Yao continued to send more.

“By the way, I hope Yan Zhixing won’t find out about us. If he does, it will be troublesome for me. To seek protection, I will solve these troubles by marrying Guan Shu. After all, he loves me a lot and doesn’t mind such things.”

He maintained a last trace of pity and ousted Xu Yibai from his life.

After sending these two messages, Shen Yao blocked Xu Yibai and covered his phone without looking at it.

The car had covered some distance, and Shen Yao assumed that Yan Zhixing must have something to discuss with him. Usually, when there was something important, Yan Zhixing would come straight to the point. The current silence made Shen Yao automatically interpret it as Yan Zhixing giving him time to calm his emotions.

“Do you have something to say to me?” Shen Yao teased half-jokingly and half-seriously, “You’re the sponsor, so just say whatever you want to say.”

Yan Zhixing didn’t speak but handed him a document. Shen Yao casually flipped through a few pages. It turned out to be about a newly opened resort hotel, and the profits mentioned were not insignificant. It was a substantial investment.

Shen Yao raised an eyebrow, looking at Yan Zhixing with slight confusion.

“Shen Yao, I have one more condition.”

Shen Yao may be emotionally detached, but his lips were not thin. They formed a beautiful and full curve, captivating to look at.

Yan Zhixing’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, as if suppressing an unknown desire that no one could detect.

His fingers tightened slightly as he spoke in the coldest tone:

“In addition to the marking, add kissing to the deal.”

The desire was consuming him. After being separated from Shen Yao for so many days, he was going crazy with the urge to kiss him.
