Chapter 16: Cheng Fan

Wen Mo was no longer considered normal.
He cried uncontrollably, choking and grabbing onto Huo Yan’s arm. He wasn’t allowed to plead; he was stripped of all rights to show weakness. All he could do was cling to Huo Yan’s neck, trying to please and actively kissing him with tears, attempting to evoke even a tiny bit of compassion. But Huo Yan still had an angry expression on his face, scolding him fiercely.
“You, you bad thing…” Huo Yan held him down, reeking of alcohol. He pressed his face against the side of his neck, inhaling his pheromone scent intensely. “How dare you make me miss you for half a month? How dare you!”
For Huo Yan, who was in a superior position, everything was naturally this Omega’s fault. He made him uneasy, unable to find peace for a whole month. It had almost come to the point where he considered doing something reckless, like having him brought to the Western region. But clearly, Huo Yan wasn’t the kind of person who would let lust cloud his judgment, even at the expense of his career. So he could only place all the blame on this Omega who made him uncomfortable.
He needed to teach him a lesson.
Wen Mo shook his head weakly and nuzzled against him affectionately with his nose. His voice was soft, soaked with water, as he said, “I was wrong. Please forgive me.” His tears flowed more and more, and he choked heavily, “I know I was wrong.”
Huo Yan threw him onto the bed, watching the pitiful Omega marked by him. He licked his teeth like a ruthless male lion preparing to hunt. His towering figure covered more than half of the bed, and Wen Mo was trapped in that huge shadow, looking pitiful, like a defenseless gazelle locked onto by a predator.
“Apologize properly to me,” Huo Yan commanded dangerously.
Wen Mo shrank slightly, sniffed, wiped his tears with the back of his hand, and obediently crawled over, embracing Huo Yan’s neck, offering his wet kisses once again.
He Yinsheng knocked on the office door.
No one responded.
Instead, the door to the adjacent secretary’s office opened quickly, and the quiet Beta secretary stepped out. When he saw He Yinsheng, he paused for a moment, then nodded slightly and said, “Commander He, Second Lieutenant Wen took the morning off.”
He Yinsheng furrowed his brow with a haughty expression, and he glanced at the closed office door. He couldn’t help but chuckle, showing a hint of disdain. “Omegas like this should just stay in bed. The military is not a place for them to be.”
The Beta secretary knew that He Yinsheng always looked down on Omegas as weak and useless, especially one like Wen Mo, who he believed had no outstanding skills, yet was at the same rank as him.
The secretary was not one to speak much, so he remained silent, standing there with his hands down.
He Yinsheng was known for his proud and uncompromising nature, he never feared offending people. He glanced at the still-standing Beta and made a rare jest, saying, “Cheng Fan, how about I recruit you? You’re so capable, it’s a waste to serve a plaything.”
Cheng Fan was indeed talented but lacked a noble background. He came from a commoner’s family. While for his class, making it into the military base through hard work was considered a significant class leap, it was just an ordinary starting point for people like Zhang Qian and He Yinsheng, who came from prestigious backgrounds.
Cheng Fan, with his plain face, managed to muster a faint smile and replied, “Commander, you’re joking.”
He Yinsheng lost interest and simply handed over some documents to him. “I assume you handle most of the matters related to that Omega on a daily basis. Please take care of this.”
“……Yes.”
He Yinsheng muttered a curse under his breath after their conversation. Cheng Fan wanted to say something but hesitated, biting his slightly pale lips. He watched He Yinsheng walk away and then carefully put away the documents. He glanced again at the tightly closed office door, letting out an almost inaudible sigh.
When Wen Mo appeared at the Military Security Center again, it was the second afternoon after Huo Yan’s return.
He was still dressed in the well-fitted uniform, entering the center’s main gate with a calm expression. Along the way, various eyes fell upon him, a subtle disdain from the high-ranking Alphas toward those in positions they deemed unworthy. However, this sentiment wasn’t overt, as the power behind him made such contempt veiled, but it didn’t disappear.
Wen Mo paid no attention to it, ignoring the sidelong glances as he entered his own office.
His Beta secretary had diligently organized the tasks he had left behind over the past two days, neatly categorizing them on his desk. Wen Mo sat down, propping his head up with his hand, and as he did, he furrowed his brows slightly. Afterward, he let out a sigh of relief and straightened himself up.
A soft, gentle click sounded nearby as a steaming cup of tea was placed on his desk.
Wen Mo glanced at his beta secretary and softly said, “Thank you.”
Cheng Fan replied in a low voice, “There were many urgent documents these past few days. I’ve taken the liberty to handle some of them for you. They’re all in this folder; please take a look.”
“Thank you, it’s been hard on you.”
Cheng Fan hesitated for a moment but couldn’t hold back any longer. “Commander, it’s not easy for an Omega to reach this position. You…” He seemed to be eager to explain a point, saying, “You should do better.”
He naturally had no idea about the extent of what Wen Mo had been through in bed these past few days. He just felt that an Omega should not take leave so easily.
Wen Mo suddenly raised his eyes to look at Cheng Fan, who realized he had gone too far. He cleared his throat and took a step back, saying, “I’m sorry, Commander, I spoke out of turn.”
Wen Mo looked at him for a moment, then lowered his head and took a sip of water. “I understand.”
Cheng Fan couldn’t help but be taken aback.
Then Wen Mo heard him say, “Secretary Cheng, I know you have many years of experience in the Military Security Center.” Wen Mo set down his cup. “So please help me adapt to all of this as quickly as possible.”
Wen Mo’s expression remained very calm, without any hint of emotion.
Cheng Fan’s face gradually broke into a smile, and he nodded earnestly. “You can rest assured, Commander. I will do my utmost to assist you.”
Wen Mo’s lips curled slightly as he began to review the documents.
Indeed, some words that may sound somewhat critical don’t necessarily carry ill intentions. Sometimes, they even represent substantial respect. So, even though those words might have had a touch of reproach, Wen Mo didn’t feel offended at all.
It wasn’t until later, when Wen Mo learned everything, that he fully understood why someone as reserved and thoughtful as Cheng Fan would dare to say such words to him and the effort that lay behind them.
Wen Mo was undoubtedly an intelligent person, Cheng Fan had only been in contact with him for a short month. Yet, he already knew that Wen Mo was more than just the rumored “skilled in bed” Omega.
As Cheng Fan watched the Omega quickly get into his work, he couldn’t help but show a contented smile. However, that smile soon carried a hint of bitterness. Nevertheless, he swiftly adjusted his mindset, casting aside any negative emotions.
Around noon, there was a knock on the door. It was one of Huo Yan’s security guards, who entered and respectfully nodded. “Second Lieutenant Wen, Commander Huo would like you to join him for lunch.”
Wen Mo instinctively shrank back a bit but nodded his agreement.
Cheng Fan noticed and let out a silent sigh. Wen Mo seemed to sense something and glanced at him before looking away.
Soon, Wen Mo arrived at Huo Yan’s office. The man had clearly been busy all morning, with a hint of irritation on his stern face. His tie was loose, and he had rolled up his sleeves, revealing his tense muscles. He had a cigarette in his mouth, squinting as he signed documents. When he saw Wen Mo entering, his furrowed brows unconsciously relaxed.
He extinguished the cigarette and tossed the pen aside, then motioned for Wen Mo to come closer. “Come here.”
Wen Mo’s heart sank, but he obediently walked over. He knew why he was being called over, and as long as he kept his distance for a little while, this highly energetic Alpha would eventually turn into a constantly aroused dog in heat whenever he saw those sharp, gleaming eyes.
However, he had no right to refuse.
So he obediently offered himself, becoming a source of pleasure during Colonel Huo’s work breaks, providing moments of pleasure.
As the mist cleared, Wen Mo had already become limp and soft in Huo Yan’s arms. Huo Yan seemed slightly displeased. “Go back and rest these two days. Your secretary is capable. I didn’t bring you here to exhaust you as my Deputy Chief.”
Wen Mo smiled and didn’t say anything.
Huo Yan’s hand had already moved to his lower abdomen.
Wen Mo shivered, but he soon realized that Huo Yan didn’t intend to continue tormenting him. He breathed a sigh of relief and whispered, “The doctor said it’s not easy for me to conceive.”
He continued to explain, “He said because I used to take too many contraceptives. so my body needs time to adjust.”
Huo Yan’s voice noticeably deepened, “You’re not allowed to take them anymore.”
He certainly didn’t know that his Omega had been taking them all along, and in fact, twice the usual dosage to deal with two energetic Alphas in their prime.
He simply buried his face obediently in Huo Yan’s neck and said, “I understand.”
Huo Yan held him tightly.
As night fell, Huo Yan decided to be merciful and spare Wen Mo. If possible, he didn’t want to make him uncomfortable. So, he had his security guard prepare the rest area, intending to spend the night here.
After all, he didn’t think he could remain calm and restrained when facing that beautiful Omega.
Wen Mo soon received the message that Huo Yan wouldn’t be returning to the residential area, and he felt a sense of relief.
But there was another man who had become extremely agitated while waiting for him.
When the lights in the office corridor suddenly dimmed with a click, Wen Mo wasn’t the least bit surprised.
A thick, warm chest pressed against his back, and strong hands slipped around his slender waist, holding him tightly. Wen Mo sighed softly and turned around, burying himself in the embrace.
“Zhang Qian,” he gently called, his voice carrying a soft nasal tone, “Zhang Qian.”
He said, “Please, don’t touch me.”
