I Became Famous after Being Forced to Debut in a Supernatural Journey Chapter 66 Part 2

Chapter 66: Rainstorm Wild Temple 28 Part 2

<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>

After the souls of the villagers were left in a daze, the central courtyard in front of the main hall was empty. The main hall and its surroundings were filled with headless god statues, shattered stones, and dust mixed with rainwater, looking muddy and desolate, far from the grandeur they saw when they first entered the temple.

After checking around, Yan Shixun confirmed that the fake middle-aged Taoist who had been living next to the main hall was nowhere to be found. He recalled that during the confrontation with the god statue, the painted rat on the murals had repeatedly screeched, as if calling for their ally, and the giant rats chasing An Nanyuan’s group had also run away at that time.

It seemed that the fake middle-aged Taoist had turned back into a rat to cover for the escaping evil entity.

Because the Mountain God promised Yan Shixun to completely remove the restrictions on Wild Wolf Peak. As the sun slowly rose from the eastern peaks, the torrential rain that had poured through the night also gradually subsided, and the air and wind began to flow again.

Yan Shixun could sense that the oppressive feeling he had when he was inside a signal-blocked metal box had completely disappeared, and the power he had temporarily lost had returned to his meridians.

He absentmindedly rubbed his palms together by his side, then swept his gaze across the entire main hall, including the central courtyard. After not finding the evil entity that had fled and hidden away, he proceeded to cast divination based on the surrounding environment, time, and place. His slender fingers swiftly performed calculations, and his lips moved as if silently reciting something, occasionally letting out a breath. His handsome face showed a mixture of seriousness and ignited battle spirit.

Water obstructs the mountain, in the cold and watery place below the mountain.

Below the earth, in the muddy graves.

The evil entity was underground.

Yan Shixun’s gaze fell on the bluestone floor beneath his Martin boots.

Obstructed, unfavorable to the southwest, unfavorable to the northeast.

For the evil entity about to be vanquished by him, this hexagram indicated a double death. In that case…

Its hiding place was in the northeast direction.

His own northeast direction was directly beneath the main hall.

Yan Shixun casually released his fingers from the calculations, and his hands clenched into fists, flexing his muscles with a crisp cracking sound.

“Ye Li, step back.”

Yan Shixun’s peripheral vision caught the man who was closely following him, and he raised a sharp eyebrow, saying, “Haven’t you heard the saying, ‘It’s better to watch people argue than to watch people tear down houses’? Standing so close, aren’t you afraid you’ll get crushed?”

The man could see the burning determination and excitement in Yan Shixun’s eyes, so instead of saying that he wasn’t afraid, he obediently took two steps back, signaling Yan Shixun to go ahead and enjoy the fight.

He would stay behind and watch without interfering with his battle.

Yan Shixun shifted his gaze away from the man, took a deep breath, and let his breath sink down into his lower abdomen. He began to utter syllables, building up his energy.

“Tian Di Fang Yuan, Wei Dao Du Zun; Ti You Jin Guang, Fu Ying Wu Shen…”

As he pronounced each syllable with clarity, a faint golden light started to envelop his body, flowing down towards his legs, accumulating power with his will.

“Jin Guang Su Xian, Fu Hu Zhen Ren!”

Finally, when the golden light on his legs became even more dazzling, Yan Shixun let out a fierce shout, then leaped into the air, extending his long legs to kick the granite facade of the main hall.

People often say that it’s like hitting a stone with an egg, thinking that the stone is so hard that human strength can’t break it, let alone kick it to pieces.

However, under the full force of Yan Shixun’s strike, the solid structure of the main hall’s wall couldn’t withstand the tremendous power. After making continuous cracking sounds like “ka-cha,” the wall finally gave way with a loud crash, creating a massive hole.

Yan Shixun used this opening to leap through and land in the mysterious space hidden beneath the main hall.

Morning light suddenly streamed in through the hole, illuminating the previously dim and damp underground temple. In the shifting light and shadow, Yan Shixun advanced aggressively, planting his foot on the grotesque creature below. He held a wooden staff and looked down disdainfully at the ugly creature.

It was only at this moment that Yan Shixun, with his keen eyesight, could clearly see the creature’s appearance in the light.

Unlike the villagers who, when entering the painting, appeared identical to their real selves with vivid colors and larger figures, this creature was anything but vibrant.

What he saw was simply a larger and more hideous rat.

Only its fur was rougher and sharper than ordinary rats, and its appearance was even more grotesque and hideous. Its pair of crimson eyes constantly flickered with a vengeful light. It screeched sharply from its throat as if calling for something, while frantically struggling to use its sharp claws to reach Yan Shixun, who was standing on it.

“What’s this, you want to turn the tables?” Yan Shixun raised an eyebrow and looked at it with disdain. “A rat that steals food and the master’s belongings, caught and still trying to escape? Do you look down on me, or have you imagined things too optimistically?”

“Tsk.” Yan Shixun slightly tilted backward, and his Martin boot slowly lifted from the large stone he was stepping on. Then, with a powerful force, he stomped it down suddenly. Under the impact of this force, the evil creature trembled all over, and a painful expression appeared on its grotesque face.

“All the villagers you manipulated have already left. What else can you rely on? Wild Wolf Peak? This place turned into a dead zone because of you and those villagers over ten years ago. Even if you want to capture power from the vicinity, it’s all in vain. What can you do?”

Yan Shixun’s gaze glanced indifferently at Anthony, who had been knocked unconscious on the other side, without a hint of pity. “Or are you relying on the little bit of belief you get from that guy over there? He’s almost drained dry by you. Is it even of any use?”

“Without the position of the main god, you’re just a dirty rat that everyone despises,” he sneered, revealing a ruthless smile. “Face reality, trash.”

The evil creature was infuriated by Yan Shixun’s contemptuous tone, and its horrifying crimson eyes glared at him as if it wanted to break free from its eye sockets. It emitted a coarse and wheezy breathing sound, and its muscles were as rigid as wood, with its fur standing on end like needles.

It suddenly exerted force and extended its sharp claws toward Yan Shixun’s lower leg. The claws gleamed with a sinister, moldy green light as if they were poisoned.

Yan Shixun’s eyes sharpened, and he immediately leaped upward, evading the creature’s attack. At the same time, he wielded the long stick in his hand and forcefully brought it down. Utilizing the momentum, the stick, with a heavy force, swung downward. The evil creature, thinking it had found an opportunity to escape from under the giant stone and trying to crawl away, was hit squarely in the abdomen. Yan Shixun used this as a pivot point to send it flying.

“Bang——!”

The evil creature hadn’t expected Yan Shixun to be so quick in both reflexes and strength. Caught off guard, it was struck hard. It flailed its limbs in the air, attempting to resist, but Yan Shixun’s powerful blow, combined with the stick, shattered a row of stone animal statues. The creature was thrown against the wall, creating a deafening sound that echoed through the dim and cold underground temple.

The evil creature tumbled from the wall, dazed and seeing stars. However, before it could regain its footing, Yan Shixun, who didn’t intend to give it any time to react, struck again with the long stick. The stick, with a resounding sonic boom, carried overwhelming force as it descended.

The evil creature turned around in panic, only to catch a glimpse of Yan Shixun’s face, contorted in a maniacal grin in the dim half-light. The long stick, which was rushing toward it, had turned into a blurred mass of motion, and before it could even register, the stick was right in front of it.

Its eyes widened in terror as the stick came closer and loomed larger in its field of vision. Every muscle in its body froze like wood, and its thoughts screamed at it to run, but under the horrifying pressure, it felt as if sharp blades were closing in from all directions. Symbols, prepared in advance, transformed into beautiful golden letters, faintly appearing in the surrounding air, forming an intricate cage that trapped the evil creature, rendering it unable to escape.

As it saw the stick about to strike, and none of its summoned loyal giant rats had come to its rescue, the evil creature gritted its teeth. Its face twisted with a fierce determination to confront this seemingly ignorant human head-on.

However, just as it raised its muscular, contorted legs and stood upright, preparing to lunge at Yan Shixun’s face, it witnessed Yan Shixun’s raised eyebrow, as if he had already seen through the creature’s intentions. Yan Shixun remained completely composed and, in a swift motion almost brushing the ground, he charged directly at the evil creature. He turned the tables, seizing the initiative, and with a powerful swing of his long arm, he blocked the creature’s intended attack path, completely disrupting its rhythm. The creature, which had hastily made a decision, suddenly found itself in chaos, losing the momentum it had just built up.

Witnessing the creature’s panic, Yan Shixun sneered, his lips curling in disdain. It was as if he was mocking the creature, implying that, despite its lavish adornments and borrowed divine attire, it was ultimately just a rat hiding in the shadows – foolish and ugly.

The creature, infuriated and overwhelmed, emitted frantic and high-pitched squeals, losing any semblance of rational thought and descending into utter chaos.

The golden symbols materializing in the air blocked all paths of retreat or escape for the evil creature, while Yan Shixun took the initiative to launch a direct assault, disrupting all of the creature’s plans, and leaving its rationality completely shattered.

Meanwhile, the long stick, initially thrown from top to bottom, followed an arched trajectory after the evil creature moved from its original position. It carried an unstoppable force and descended directly, aiming straight for the creature’s head.

By the time the infuriated creature, its mind buzzing, heard the sound of the stick-breaking through the air and instinctively looked up, it was already too late to evade.

“Splutch!”

In the posture of the creature looking up, the long stick struck precisely in the middle of its forehead, continuing to penetrate directly through its entire bulky body and even breaking out from its rear. The stick finally came to a halt as it firmly embedded itself into the ground’s stone slab underneath the creature’s feet.

The tip of the stick swayed slightly in the air, and the entire section that had made contact with the creature was stained black and purple from the blood.

Blood splattered.

A foul stench filled the air, mixing with the original damp, musty odor of the underground temple, making it nauseating.

Yan Shixun furrowed his brows, looking at the evil entity with disgust. He slowly retracted his posture and stood upright again.

“Even your blood stinks, it’s truly disgusting. Did all of you attend the same class on how to be repulsive when you can’t win a fight? The stench is so bad I’m about to vomit.”

“It’s creatures like you who took away the divine position from the Mountain God…” Yan Shixun took a step closer to the immobilized evil entity, which was pierced through and unable to move. His tone was icy as he interrogated it, “Do you deserve it?”

“Yushun was established as ‘over the mountains, rising from the great lake.’ The Mountain God has always been the guardian god of this mountain. What have you done to think you are worthy of this divine position?”

Yan Shixun sneered, his gaze as cold as a blade covered in frost. “You’ve stolen power, only bringing disaster and suffering. You’re reaping what you sowed and yet you still want to become a god?”

“Even among evil gods, there is no place for you.”

“You’re just a universally despised rat.”

The evil entity, pierced from top to bottom by the long pole and weakened due to the departure of villagers’ souls, once again began to dissipate. Without power, as Yan Shixun had said, it was nothing more than a filthy and malevolent rat.

The immobilized entity convulsed its body, glaring at Yan Shixun with a gaze filled with resentment as if it wanted to remember his face to curse him.

But Yan Shixun showed no fear, only raising an eyebrow mockingly. “Are you trying to curse me by looking at me? I’m no saint, you know. Any curses you send my way, I’ll just return to you.”

“How about we try it out, see whose curse is stronger?”

Yan Shixun smiled slyly and slowly articulated, “I say, after your death, you will descend into the nine layers of hell, suffering eternally to atone for the consequences of causing the death of the Mountain God and hundreds of villagers, only then can you find release.”

“From then on, death will be your ultimate liberation.”

The evil entity originally gazed at Yanzhi with its red eyes, defiant and bitter, showing indifference to his words.

However, suddenly, as if sensing something, it looked back in terror, past Yan Shixun’s shoulder.

Through the large hole and the lingering dust, it vaguely saw a tall figure standing in the sunlight, exuding an aura of majesty, filling it with uncontrollable fear and trembling.

“But…”

Above the courtyard, Ye Li lifted his eyelashes, his cold gaze piercing through all obstacles, landing on Yan Shixun.

Beneath his feet lay the corpses of several giant rats, their faces filled with the fear of death without peace.

Ye Li’s voice was icy and devoid of emotion, carrying an authority capable of commanding gods and spirits.

“What Yan Shixun has spoken, is as clear as day, as hidden as night. The thirty-three heavenly deities and the eighteen Yama kings are all under my command and have granted their approval.”

“Those who are punished are evil, and those who act are in accordance with the law. Such is Yan Shixun.”

The evil creature twitched, its bulky body hanging on the long stick, motionless.

Only its previously ferocious eyeballs, now looked upward in despair, filled with deep fear and regret.

Yan Shixun took two steps back in disgust, feeling that this rat was filthy.

“I wonder if this rat carries any viruses. Plagues can be quite troublesome. Tsk, so dirty.”

He was about to sweep away the rat impaled on the ground with his staff and cast a spell to burn it clean when he suddenly felt his phone vibrating in his pocket.

It was a message from Taoist Ma, who had been squatting in front of the split-screen broadcast. He was quite emotional and implored Yan Shixun not to use such an extravagant spell as the Five Thunders Judgment just to burn a rat. They wanted to examine this evil creature more closely, so please leave its body intact!

Yan Shixun happened to share the same disdain for the rat, so he nonchalantly withdrew his gesture, planning to hand the matter over to the Haiyun Temple and the authorities later.

However, Taoist Ma’s message also reminded Yan Shixun that he had forgotten about the split-screen live broadcast amidst the excitement of killing the rat.

Yan Shixun: “…”

Tsk.
