Chapter 101

Every second in the darkness felt long.
Lou Yan could hear his own breathing. He waited attentively for any movement from Wen Yian. Three seconds later, the darkness in front of him suddenly lit up.
–But it wasn’t Wen Yian who came to take him away, but the lights in the bathroom being turned on again.
The bright light made Lou Yan blink, looking at Fu Xuezhou who appeared suddenly like a ghost, his heart pounding two beats faster.
Fu Xuezhou withdrew his hand from the light switch, his thin lips pressed into a cold line, a hint of displeasure showing in his expression. His face was tinged with blush from the hot water and desire, remnants of his previous arousal still evident between his brows and eyes. Despite the obvious lust, his expression remained as calm as ever, as if he had never desired Lou Yan. “Are you waiting for that blonde woman who can sneak into the darkness?”
Lou Yan looked at his expression without changing his expression, feeling that Fu Xuezhou now seemed much more impatient and dangerous than before, as if someone had angered him.
But after hearing Fu Xuezhou’s words, Lou Yan didn’t have time to think about anything else. His heart sank, thinking of countless possibilities in an instant. Finally, he chuckled twice, looking inexplicable, “The woman you’re talking about is Wen Yian? How do you know I’m waiting for her?”
Fu Xuezhou said lightly, “Wen Yian? Perhaps. I’m not interested in what she’s called. As for how I knew you were waiting for her…”
He lifted Lou Yan’s chin with his hand, his lips curved in a meaningful smile, “Why do you think I knew?”
Lou Yan chuckled, one hand holding the prison guard’s uniform while the other was tucked into his damp pocket. His smile was charming. “I guess she betrayed me and started hanging out with you instead. Am I right, Mr. Charismatic Hunter?”
The phrase “charismatic” was said by him in a strange tone.
Fu Xuezhou narrowed his eyes, his hand holding Lou Yan’s chin moved to the back of Lou Yan’s neck, pinching it as he walked a few steps to the right, making Lou Yan look at the bathroom door.
His actions were like handling a venomous snake, making Lou Yan uncomfortable, who furrowed his brows and, after steadying himself, looked up to see that the bathroom door, which had been wide open when he entered, was now tightly shut. Through the seamless gap, it was apparent that the door was likely locked.
“You guessed it right, she betrayed you,” Fu Xuezhou said indifferently. “That woman locked the door. While I was bathing, she sneaked in and told me about your plan, promising to make you come to me voluntarily. See? That’s the price of blind trust in a cultist. Cultists never stop betraying.”
Lou Yan’s eyes darkened as he looked at the door. He remained silent for a few seconds. “No, you’re wrong. I never trusted Wen Yian. We only had a business relationship. I just didn’t expect her to betray me at this moment… Fu Xuezhou, I’m really curious about what kind of drug you gave Wen Yian to make her forget her brother’s death, to make her take the risk of offending me to help you?”
Indeed, Lou Yan never trusted Wen Yian. He was well aware of the characteristics of cultists. Even though Li Sanxin left a “surgical thread” in Wen Yian’s mind that could control her, Lou Yan never relaxed his guard against her. However, he truly did not expect Wen Yian to betray him so suddenly. Their goals were aligned; they both wanted Fu Xuezhou dead. Lou Yan was sure that Wen Yian’s previous expressions of hatred towards Fu Xuezhou were not fake. So when it came to dealing with Fu Xuezhou, Lou Yan never considered the possibility of Wen Yian betraying him.
But reality was miraculous. Wen Yian did indeed “turncoat.”
Lou Yan was genuinely curious about how Fu Xuezhou had managed it. This curiosity even surpassed his anger at Wen Yian’s betrayal.
Wen Yian was not foolish; she should have understood that once she betrayed Lou Yan, she would essentially anger Lou Yan’s associates. With Li Sanxin’s contingency plan still in her mind, Lou Yan’s power was more than enough to kill her. Was she not afraid of retaliation from them?
Fu Xuezhou provided Lou Yan with the answer in just a simple sentence: “I only killed her brother.”
Just a few words, but after Lou Yan’s initial confusion, he quickly realized the truth, wearing a look of sudden realization.
“Yes, you only killed her brother and didn’t touch her,” Lou Yan covered his face with his hand, chuckling softly. “I was careless, and didn’t notice this point. You killed Wen Yian’s brother, Wen Jiu, but Wen Yian managed to escape with Wen Jiu’s body right in front of you. With your strength, how could Wen Yian possibly have escaped successfully in front of you unless… you deliberately let her go.”
Lou Yan’s hand slowly lowered from his face, revealing his eyes glimmering with a cold light. He raised an eyebrow, appearing as if smiling. “So, Wen Yian has been in cahoots with you since then.”
There was no need for further inquiry; Lou Yan knew what Wen Yian would have traded with Fu Xuezhou. It was simply for Fu Xuezhou to spare Wen Yian’s life, and Wen Yian would help Fu Xuezhou at crucial moments, that was all.
Wen Yian was indeed grateful to Lou Yan, and her hatred towards Fu Xuezhou was genuine. But people are complex beings, especially someone as ruthless and composed as Wen Yian. As long as it was for her survival, let alone betraying Lou Yan, she could even temporarily set aside the vengeance for her own younger brother’s death.
From Wen Yian’s perspective, Lou Yan actually admired Wen Yian’s approach. But as the one betrayed by Wen Yian, Lou Yan would never let her off.
Lou Yan turned to look at Fu Xuezhou, his smile polite, showing a rare courtesy to Fu Xuezhou, “Thank you, Mr. Fu, for telling me this. Considering your kind notification just now, I’ll overlook the rudeness you showed me earlier. I’ll take my leave now and won’t disturb you further with your bath.”
Having said that, he nodded gracefully at Fu Xuezhou and turned to leave.
Fu Xuezhou chuckled sarcastically, grabbing Lou Yan’s wrist and pulling him back abruptly, causing Lou Yan to fall onto Fu Xuezhou. Fu Xuezhou turned his face with a sneer, “Who said you could leave?”
Lou Yan’s eyelids twitched crazily. The ominous premonition that he had forcefully suppressed finally overwhelmed him, rushing up to his heart in an instant. He instinctively struggled for a few times, but the next moment, Lou Yan stiffened in place, his eyes widening in shock and disbelief.
He had bumped into something with his waist.
Lou Yan was also a man, and in an instant, he understood what it was.
…?!
Lou Yan felt his whole body stiffen, the palm of Fu Xuezhou’s hand holding his wrist suddenly becoming extremely hot. Various emotions flashed across Lou Yan’s face, a mixture of shock and disbelief.
The situation was bad—
Lou Yan’s hand clenched into a fist, his knuckles turning pale. His eyes lowered, his long lashes trembling slightly. He appeared anxious, but in his mind, he was constantly comparing his and Fu Xuezhou’s power gap, simulating the escape routes he could take.
Previously, being chased by the hunters without rest, Lou Yan hadn’t had a good rest, and his mental strength hadn’t recovered much. He only had one chance to use his power.
Reverse time? No, he had already been in the bathroom for more than five minutes. Even if he reversed time, he could only go back to the cubicle just now. He still wouldn’t be able to escape from Fu Xuezhou.
Bone spikes? Perhaps bone spikes could work, but he needed to find the right opportunity to use them.
The door was locked, and it would take some time to break it open. Lou Yan still had two vials of mental strength recovery syringes on him… Where were the syringes?
Lou Yan paused, disregarding Fu Xuezhou beside him, and immediately reached into his two pants pockets. But they were empty, there were no mental strength recovery syringes in the pockets at all.
“F*ck.”
Lou Yan couldn’t help but curse, his eyes turning red with anger. He quickly recalled every scene just now, and in an instant, he realized that the mental strength recovery syringes had fallen into the cubicle just now. It was probably when his pants were pulled down by Fu Xuezhou’s silver hair!
Those were two precious mental strength recovery needles, without any side effects. Lou Yan couldn’t just leave them behind, but in doing so, all his plans would be disrupted.
Lou Yan quickly regained his composure. He glanced up to see Fu Xuezhou tilting his head, silver hair sliding down his shoulders, watching his every move with interest.
Lou Yan pursed his lips, his gaze shifting momentarily, but when it returned, it was filled with determination. He coldly locked eyes with Fu Xuezhou for a few seconds, then glanced down at the towel.
Water droplets trickled down Fu Xuezhou’s silver hair, flowing along his body, sliding over his chest and abs, before being absorbed by the white towel, obscuring the seductive lines on both sides.
The man’s expression was indifferent and restrained, like a deity untouched by worldly desires, but the prominent curve below—clearly showed otherwise.
Fu Xuezhou, this person, unexpectedly had such a side to him.
If Lou Yan hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would have found it hard to associate this situation with Fu Xuezhou.
Alongside his disgust, a strange feeling rose in Lou Yan’s heart. The thick barrier of distant time that had separated Fu Xuezhou from everyone else in the past three lifetimes seemed to have been shattered by this scene. Lou Yan realized with unparalleled clarity—Fu Xuezhou, he was actually human.
He was actually, human.
…
To tell the truth, if this wet and half-naked image of Fu Xuezhou were replaced by someone else here, regardless of gender, anyone would find it hard to resist blushing, heart racing, and mouth drying up. But Lou Yan wasn’t one of those people. He had thoughts, but they were about getting rid of this nuisance.
Lou Yan suppressed his complex emotions and raised his head, giving Fu Xuezhou a cold smile. He reached out, tugging at his own collar and pulling it down. With a rip, he tore open a palm-sized rip in his own clothes, exposing his graceful collarbones and a small patch of fair skin. Lou Yan sneered, “Want to make love? Fine. But I’ll decide where. I won’t do it here with you. Let’s go to the room where you just bathed.”
With that, Lou Yan gave Fu Xuezhou a disdainful glance and pushed him away, heading towards the cubicle where Fu Xuezhou had just bathed.
Fu Xuezhou watched his retreating figure for a moment before leisurely following.
