Chapter 110

The three of them slinked back to the eighth floor and, seeing Ye Buyan lying unconscious on the floor, exchanged guilty glances with each other, picked up Ye Buyan, and rode the elevator down again.
They briefly stopped at each intermediate floor. It was worth celebrating that all the pig-headed people and every boss anomaly on each floor of the amusement park were dead.
These anomalies existed in the amusement park only because of the Anomaly Lord. When the Anomaly Lord died and the amusement park collapsed, they naturally died with it.
Unfortunately, except for the four of them plus Wen Yian who arrived alive in front of the Anomaly Lord, only four people survived on the sixth floor of humanity, and there were still two people left on the seventh floor.
If Fu Xuezhou had killed the Anomaly Lord even a second later, these six people would probably have died too.
And at the moment when the amusement park collapsed completely, their prison guard uniforms turned back into their original clothes.
When they reached the first floor, Lin You immediately called Lin Xiong, the head of the anomaly control bureau, first letting the bureau send the ambulance that had been prepared near the library to rescue people, and then immediately dispatch people to evacuate the villages around Taikang Village. He was worried that anomalies might have already appeared around Taikang Village.
Immediately after, Lin You asked the bureau to send more people to take away the bodies of the anomalies, mentioning that among these bodies there was also a huge Anomaly Lord’ body that ordinary vehicles couldn’t carry.
“What?! The body of the Anomaly Lord?!” Lin Xiong was shocked, his tone instantly becoming serious. “Lin You, are you sure you didn’t say it wrong?!”
Lin You said affirmatively, “I didn’t say it wrong, Captain. Please act quickly. I’m afraid that leaving the body of the Anomaly Lord here will attract other anomalies. I will explain what happened in the amusement park to you later and write a detailed report to submit.”
Lin Xiong’s breath sank, and he immediately asked, “How big of a vehicle is needed?”
Lin You said, “The Anomaly Lord is five floors tall, and estimated to weigh over three hundred tons by visual estimation.”
Lin Xiong hung up the phone directly, indicating that he should go and prepare.
Lou Yan didn’t idle either. He checked his mental power and found that it had doubled, from the original 70 to 140.
This was one of the rewards for successfully surviving in the amusement park. Lou Yan thought that the rewards would disappear along with the death of the Anomaly Lord. However, it turned out that they had indeed doubled.
He turned to Li Sanxin and Lin You, saying, “Check if your mental power has doubled.”
Li Sanxin and Lin You checked and found that their mental power had indeed doubled. Lin You’s mental power went from 20 to 40, while Li Sanxin’s went from 40 to 80, doubling exactly! This was a big surprise!
Li Sanxin smiled broadly. “It really doubled. I didn’t expect this Anomaly Lord to be so generous. Even after death, he still fulfills rewards.”
Lin You and Lou Yan couldn’t help but smile.
Li Sanxin then patted himself and smirked, “The invitation said that in addition to the reward of doubling mental power and the reward of wishes, we can also receive the wealth bestowed by the Anomaly Lord. Since mental power has been settled, maybe this wealth will follow?”
As he jokingly reached into his pocket, he unexpectedly felt something. Li Sanxin was taken aback for a moment, then took out what was in his pocket. It turned out to be a completely black pen.
The pen was about a hand’s length, entirely black without any patterns or inlays, reflecting a chilling light.
There was also a note attached to the pen. Li Sanxin peeled off the note and squinted to read the tiny writing at the top.
【Name: Memory Pen】*
【Function: The Memory Pen can delve into the holder’s entire memory. When picked up, the holder will uncontrollably write down everything that has happened in their memory, whether they remember it or not. The Memory Pen will write in detail regardless.】
“Memory Pen?” Li Sanxin was puzzled and confused. “What’s the use of this thing? It doesn’t look very impressive.”
He unscrewed the cap of the pen and found that the black ink inside was not full; it had already been used about one-third. It could be imagined that when all the ink was used up, this pen would probably be useless.
Li Sanxin was speechless.
He felt like he had been given junk by the Anomaly Lord.
Lou Yan leaned over and looked at it, also unable to determine what use this pen could have. He advised, “You should keep it anyway. It’s still an anomaly tool, better than nothing.”
Li Sanxin thought about it and agreed. He happily put away the pen and then asked, “Do you have anything in your pocket?”
Lou Yan reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, delicate blood-red bell.
There was also a note inserted into the center of the bell. Lou Yan unfolded the note and read aloud, “Blood Bell…”
【Name: Blood Bell】
【Function: When the blood-stained bell rings, it affects the minds of enemies. However, the Blood Bell needs to be replenished with blood whenever the blood fades, and it is extremely fragile. Once the Blood Bell is deformed by any impact, it will no longer make any sound.】
“Does the sound have a bewitching attack effect?”
Lou Yan pondered, handing the note to Li Sanxin. “It should be more useful than your Memory Pen, but it’s too fragile. The note says it’s extremely fragile, so it probably won’t work with even a slight bump.”
He gently picked up the Blood Bell, feeling its weight. It was thin and light. Lou Yan had the feeling that if he exerted even a little force, the Blood Bell would be crushed.
After reading it, Li Sanxin couldn’t help but laugh and cry. “I’m beginning to suspect whether the Anomaly Lord is clearing out the warehouse and giving us junk… They’re all more or less useless.”
The two looked at Lin You, their eyes full of expectation, hoping that Lin You would get something good. Lin You felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. He solemnly wiped his hands on his clothes, reached into his pocket, and took out a transparent glass bottle about the length of a thumb. Inside the bottle were five small eggs.
These five eggs were oval-shaped and scattered on the glass wall. There was a black-red intersection point in each egg, as if something was hatching inside.
Lou Yan didn’t need to look at the note attached to the glass bottle. At a glance, he recognized what it was. “Ah, it’s Blood Flies.”
Li Sanxin eagerly approached to observe the five eggs, suddenly realizing, “So this little thing was hidden in Wen Yian’s hair.”
“Blood Flies?” Lin You opened the note with a puzzled expression.
Lou Yan leisurely supplemented, “Blood Flies are helpers bestowed by the Anomaly Lord to cultists, and they’re the favorite anomalies used by cultists. They can grow up to the size of an adult’s thumb. These things are covert, capable of scouting and searching, and they have particularly strong attack capabilities. Once they bite someone, they can instantly drain all the blood from a human body. One Blood Fly could probably drain the blood of two to three people.”
“Buddy, you win,” Li Sanxin patted Lin You on the shoulder, relieved. “With five Blood Flies now, you completely beat the useless rewards that me and Yanzi have.”
Lin You’s expression turned serious. He carefully took out a sealed bag from his body and placed the glass bottle inside, sealing it. “This thing is too dangerous. I’ll hand it over to the research institute for study.”
Lou Yan had long been curious about the research institute set up by Lin You and their bureau. Upon hearing this, he nodded with a smile and said, “That’s good. If we can identify the weaknesses of the blood flies, it would greatly diminish the power of the sinister cultists. Earlier, when you mentioned having someone take away the body of the Anomaly Lord over the phone, were you planning to also send the body of the Anomaly Lord to the research institute for study?”
Lin You nodded, looking apologetic as he replied to them, “I know I didn’t kill the Anomaly Lord, so I’m not qualified to handle their body. But this body is too important for us now. I must take it away. Perhaps we can uncover the secret of the Anomaly Resurgence from the body of the Anomaly Lord…”
Lou Yan agreed, saying, “Take it away. Regardless, the more research on the anomalies, the better. If there’s anything your research institute needs help with, you can also tell me privately. However, I hope that if you discover any useful information or tools to deal with the anomaly, you can communicate with me in a timely manner for potential trades.”
Lin You affirmed, “Don’t worry, I will.”
Lou Yan smiled faintly and looked at Ye Buyan, who was still unconscious. “Are you taking this child with you?”
Lin You nodded. “I’ll find out where his home is and then take him back.”
“Then we won’t stay any longer,” Lou Yan said. “When your people arrive later, it’ll be too late for us to leave. Don’t forget what I reminded you of before, Lin You.”
Lin You knew he was referring to the presence of cultists within the Anomaly Control Bureau. His gaze hardened, and he nodded silently.
Li Sanxin and Lou Yan walked out of the library.
They didn’t know how long they had been in the library. By the time they came out, the sky had darkened, and the last rays of the setting sun lingered on the western horizon. The breeze carried a chill, and the air felt crisp, giving a fleeting sense of autumn.
The streetlights were on, and people walked along the road, while traffic flowed back and forth. They couldn’t help but feel a sense of unfamiliarity as they looked at the lit street lamps, the people walking on the road, and the passing cars.
Peace is precious.
Willow branches swayed lightly in the wind beside them. Li Sanxin stretched lazily and walked down the stairs, turning to ask Lou Yan, “What time is it?”
Lou Yan raised his hand to check his watch. “It’s 19:40.”
“Want to grab some barbecue? Maybe some spicy crayfish?”
“Let’s go.”
Their steps were unusually light, and they walked a few steps forward, chatting and laughing. Suddenly, a little cannonball rushed over. Before it reached them, it bounced high into the air, arms outstretched towards them. With a clear and excited voice, it exclaimed, “Ah, bro!”
Lou Yan and Li Sanxin instinctively reached out to catch the flying rush, and Lu Haoxiu, clinging to both of their necks, began to rub against them eagerly, like a clingy puppy that hadn’t seen its owner in a long time, wanting to rub its scent all over its owner’s body. “Wow, you’re finally back! It’s been two days already, I missed you guys so much.”
How did they raise such a sweet bean? This tone, this posture, so pitiful, so pathetic, made Lou Yan and Li Sanxin feel like they hadn’t been gone for two days, but two years.
This clingy behavior was too much for Lou Yan, and even Li Sanxin felt overwhelmed.
As they looked at Lu Haoxiu from behind, Duan Zege, wearing a hat and Hawaiian-style floral shirt and shorts, still covering his face with his overgrown grass-like hair, walked leisurely, leading Little Yu.
Seeing them looking over, this guy leisurely curled his lips and waved at them, “Hey~”
