Chapter 119

Lou Yan automatically ignored Fu Xuezhou’s second sentence, focusing on the first.
The Plastic Man, Rank A horror, has generated an Anomaly Domain.
When did Chengjiang City have a Rank A horror?
This was the first time Lou Yan had encountered an Anomaly like this since his rebirth, and the first time he had seen an Anomaly capable of generating an Anomaly Domain other than the one he devoured and the amusement park. These two points indicated that the strength of the Plastic Man was even more terrifying than Lou Yan had imagined.
If not careful, Rank A horrors could even destroy the entire Chengjiang City.
Lou Yan pondered. He didn’t remember the appearance of the Plastic Man in Chengjiang City in his past three lifetimes. Logically, if a Rank A Anomaly appeared, there would be a large number of casualties, and he shouldn’t have no memory of it.
He glanced at Fu Xuezhou, suddenly understanding.
He had no impression of the Plastic Man, and the only explanation was that someone had already dealt with the Plastic Man before it caused irreversible disaster.
This person was very likely Fu Xuezhou.
With a steady mind, Lou Yan asked with certainty, “How many times have you killed the Plastic Man?”
Fu Xuezhou replied, “Can’t remember.”
Lou Yan’s eyelids twitched.
…So many times that he couldn’t remember. That meant Fu Xuezhou’s returns were definitely not just a simple dozen or twenty times. Fu Xuezhou’s existence was completely unreasonable.
He felt somewhat annoyed. He couldn’t understand why such a sociopathic criminal, who destroyed the world time and time again, could have such adventures. Why could he come back again and again? Was it true that good people don’t live long, while troublemakers live a thousand years?
A chilling wind blew with cold rain. Fu Xuezhou looked around calmly and then glanced at Lou Yan, saying, “Come here.”
Lou Yan didn’t like the commanding tone, and his tone wasn’t good either. “What for?”
“Your speed can’t keep up with mine. Come here and let me carry you,” Fu Xuezhou said calmly with his hands in his pockets, raindrops dripping from his silver ponytail. He continued, “The owner of this Anomaly Domain has already noticed our presence. I need to find its heart as soon as possible.”
Lou Yan stiffly refused, “No need, I’ll do my best to keep up with you.”
Fu Xuezhou looked at Lou Yan calmly, his expression unchanged. He neither showed displeasure nor left to lead the way. Instead, he stood there motionless, as if he were in no hurry at all, contrary to his words of “as soon as possible.”
Just as Lou Yan was about to urge him to lead the way to find the Plastic Man, several piercing screams suddenly echoed from the empty Anomaly. The screams came from all directions, sounding like human voices.
Lou Yan frowned, “What’s going on with these screams?”
Fu Xuezhou replied nonchalantly, “Other humans who entered the Anomaly Domain.”
“Ah ah ah—!”
“Help!”
“Ah!!!”
The nearest scream suddenly stopped, indicating that its owner had met a calamity.
Lou Yan’s expression grew solemn as he looked at Fu Xuezhou, trying to probe, “Aren’t you going to help them?”
Fu Xuezhou asked in return, “Why should I help?”
Right, although Fu Xuezhou was called the “savior,” he only refrained from killing innocent humans himself. When other humans were killed in front of him, sometimes he would save them, but other times he would ignore them.
Seeing Lou Yan’s subtle change in expression, Fu Xuezhou added, “But you can help them.”
Lou Yan looked up at him, “Me?”
Fu Xuezhou lazily remained still. The screams seemed to have no effect on him, chillingly indifferent. “The faster you act, the fewer deaths there will be. The woman named Song can only be saved before she completely turns into the Plastic Man.”
“There are other humans turning into the Plastic Man,” Fu Xuezhou said, “One second later, someone else will die.”
Lou Yan’s face grew damp in the rain, and the cold penetrated his skin. He bit his lip hard, and the pale lips, whitened by the cold, revealed a deep, vivid color beneath his teeth. Lou Yan hesitated for a few seconds and then walked quickly toward Fu Xuezhou. After five steps, he stood in front of Fu Xuezhou.
Until Lou Yan reached Fu Xuezhou, Fu Xuezhou’s hands did not leave his pockets.
Lou Yan saw that Fu Xuezhou made no move to pick him up and took a deep breath. He proactively lifted his hands to hook around Fu Xuezhou’s neck and said with a twist of his lips, “Is this okay?”
Fu Xuezhou lowered his eyelids. “Hmm?”
Lou Yan, with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, took Fu Xuezhou’s hand out of his pocket and placed it on his waist. “Please, carry me and let’s find the heart of the Plastic Man.”
Fu Xuezhou said lightly, “Good.”
With that word, he lifted Lou Yan and swiftly moved through the deserted buildings.
Including the time when Lou Yan broke his foot bone inside the red coffin, he had been princess-carried by Fu Xuezhou three times in total. Lou Yan was almost getting used to it. Turning his back to the rushing wind, he tried hard to adapt to the speed to clearly capture the environment around them.
Gradually, the blurry scene flying backward became clearer in Lou Yan’s eyes, and his eyes adjusted to the speed at which information was reflected to his brain. Soon, Lou Yan’s eyes adapted to this wind-like speed.
From time to time, he glimpsed a human running and screaming in the alley. Just as this person was about to run out of the alley, they were suddenly entangled by a large mass of white vine-like things, pulling them back into the alley.
What is this large mass of white vine-like thing?
Fu Xuezhou’s speed was too fast. Lou Yan felt that in the blink of an eye, Fu Xuezhou stopped. Turning his head, Lou Yan saw Fu Xuezhou stopping in front of a round manhole cover.
Fu Xuezhou opened the manhole cover, and a foul smell from the sewer rushed out, accompanied by the sound of flowing water. Lou Yan leaned over and saw the dark dirty water flowing slowly. Fu Xuezhou calmly put the manhole cover aside and, carrying Lou Yan, jumped into the sewer.
“F*ck!” Lou Yan burst out swearing unexpectedly.
The black dirty water splashed, and Lou Yan raised his arm in time to protect his face. Fu Xuezhou, unfazed, carried him through the dirty water, and after about a minute or so, the sewer grew darker, the sound of water gradually disappeared, and the ground became dry.
With a grimace, Lou Yan looked around. It was pitch black, and he could smell a strong mixture of blood and plastic in the air.
Was this the headquarters of the Plastic Man?
Lou Yan took out a lighter, pressed it down, and said, “Fu—!”
Under the golden flame, a pale plastic face reflecting the light appeared above the lighter.
Lou Yan was startled and quickly released the lighter, extinguishing the flame. Fu Xuezhou’s reaction was quick too. He kicked out, and with a “bang,” the Plastic Man that had been kicked fell heavily against the wall.
Lou Yan’s heart raced, and he was about to struggle to get out of Fu Xuezhou’s embrace when Fu Xuezhou grabbed his hand and felt along the wall behind him.
It felt smooth to the touch, covered with layers upon layers of “vines” undulating on the wall. Lou Yan touched it and quickly withdrew his hand, understanding that these things on the wall were the white vines he had just seen in the alley.
Fu Xuezhou’s voice was low, “This is where the Plastic Man hides.”
From the moment he uttered the first word, the vines on the wall attacked Fu Xuezhou and Lou Yan. Fu Xuezhou, agile and light, dodged these vines while carrying Lou Yan, continuing to move forward in the dark corridor.
Behind them, the vines pursued relentlessly. Fu Xuezhou ran calmly, instructing, “Use your lighter to ignite these plastic vines.”
Lou Yan cooperatively reopened the lighter. With an outstretched arm, the flame from the lighter’s long finger touched the crawling white plastic vines on the wall.
Fu Xuezhou slowed down, intentionally allowing the flame from the lighter to pass over the white vines slowly. These plastic vines were easier to ignite than Lou Yan had imagined. As they burned, the melted plastic droplets fell like burning wax from a candle.
Once one side was burning, Fu Xuezhou ignited the vines on the other side of the wall. The fire spread rapidly, gradually illuminating the entire corridor. Heat rose from both sides, and the choking smell of burning plastic made Lou Yan cough softly.
Covering his mouth and nose, Lou Yan mocked, “Aren’t you good at setting fires? Why don’t you ignite these plastic vines yourself?”
Fu Xuezhou carried on forward through the firelight, the flames casting a mysterious and elusive glow on his face, constantly shifting the shadows. His handsome face took on a mysterious and enigmatic appearance. He replied, “No need.”
No need?
Lou Yan’s lips curled with mockery.
Destroying the world was necessary, but not for this?
Lou Yan squinted, and the flames on both sides danced in his dark eyes. In the light, Lou Yan, this dangerous and hot-tempered beauty, seemed to have softened and become somewhat seductive. He asked softly, “Earlier, in front of the Anomaly Lord, you asked ‘Where is it?’ Who is ‘it’?”
He asked directly, straightforwardly, without beating around the bush. Fu Xuezhou glanced at Lou Yan and said, “Guess.”
“…” Lou Yan chuckled.
Arriving at the end, the corridor suddenly opened up, and they came to a spacious underground space. With the help of the firelight, Lou Yan saw a shocking scene.
A huge tree made up of countless white vines stood in the center of the vast space. The towering tree split into countless branches, disappearing into the darkness, with no end in sight.
On countless branches, Lou Yan saw one plastic person after another suspended.
These plastic people, each with human-like features, had expressions of fear or pain, swaying in the wind in various poses.
At a glance, there were hundreds of plastic people suspended.
