Chapter 175

Father Lou and mother continued to smile, not moving a muscle, nor responding to Lou Yan’s words.
That tingling sensation returned, and Lou Yan bit his cheek. He sat up, propping himself up on the bed board, quickly scanning everything around him.
This was a bedroom, elegantly furnished, giving Lou Yan a feeling of being transported back in time—it was his childhood bedroom.
Everything in the room perfectly matched his memories, from the black alarm clock on the bedside table to the books on the desk, and even the signed soccer ball in the corner… even the scratches on the wall and the dust in the air were crystal clear.
Lou Yan’s gaze returned to his parents by the bed, and his heart sank.
He knew clearly that he had fallen into Paradise, and looking at the current scene, he understood what Paradise meant. This would be a constantly sinking illusion.
Lou Yan took a deep breath to calm himself down. The first thing to do now was to understand the current situation.
“Dad, Mom, what are you doing by my bedside?” Lou Yan asked tentatively.
Father Lou and mother still smiled. They stared at Lou Yan intently, their smiles unchanged, like two stiff puppets.
Lou Yan felt even more strange. He tried to get up from the bed, but as his feet were about to touch the ground, his parents’ gaze shifted to his feet, and their smiles became increasingly bizarre.
No!
Lou Yan quickly stopped his movement of touching the ground. He couldn’t directly touch the ground!
He quickly retracted his feet, and Lou’s parents also returned to their previous smiling appearance, looking kind, but Lou Yan felt that they were becoming more and more dangerous.
The second hand of the alarm clock ticked away, the sound noisy.
Lou Yan frowned and began to search for information on the bed. Seeing that Father Lou and mother didn’t stop him, Lou Yan immediately released his movements. He quickly found a piece of paper from under the pillow, with “Bedroom Rules” written on it.
“1. Tidy up the bed before nine o’clock every morning. If the bed is messy, Mom will be very angry.”
“2. The door cannot be locked. You must lie in bed and sleep between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Don’t block your ears when sleeping.”
“3. After nine in the morning, remember to open the curtains. Remember to close the curtains before going to bed at night.”
“4. Your parents love you. If you see your parents standing by your bed when you wake up, don’t be surprised. Remember to say good morning to your parents.”
After reading it, Lou Yan immediately looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table. It was 8:59:25, and there were only 35 seconds left until 9 o’clock.
Oops, not much time left.
Lou Yan did not hesitate to tidy up his bed, ensuring that there was not a single wrinkle from the blanket to the bedsheet. When the second hand of the clock reached the last second of 9 o’clock, he quickly got out of bed and stood on the ground.
Mother Lou frowned at the messy bed, her expression cold and displeased. “Lou Yan, look at how messy your bed is. How many times have I taught you?”
Lou Yan turned his head to take a look, feeling a little uneasy. He had moved too quickly when he got out of bed, causing the neatly made bedsheet to wrinkle.
The anger on Mother Lou’s face became more and more terrifying, her eyes glowing red, as she approached Lou Yan with large steps. “How many times have I taught you?! How many times?!”
Lou Yan was about to speak but felt a sharp pain in his chest. Mother Lou’s hand had already pierced through his chest, and blood gushed out, staining Lou Yan’s clothes red.
Lou Yan breathed heavily, gripping Mother Lou’s wrist. In the midst of the intense pain in his chest, he used time reversal.
The next second, he opened his eyes again, facing the enlarged faces of “Mom and Dad”.
Lou Yan instantly sat up, smiling at Father Lou and mother, “Good morning, Dad, Mom.”
Then, Lou Yan immediately began to tidy up his bed. After ensuring that everything, from the blanket to the bedsheets, was free of wrinkles, he carefully got out of bed.
Glancing at the alarm clock on the bedside table, it was good, it had just struck 9 o’clock.
Lou Yan hadn’t forgotten the third rule of the “Bedroom Rules”. He quickly walked to the window and pulled open the curtains, instantly brightening the entire room.
“Little Yan, good morning.”
Father Lou and mother, who had just been motionless, suddenly seemed to turn from puppets into real people, and their smiles became genuine.
Lou Yan breathed a sigh of relief without leaving any traces.
Father Lou looked Lou Yan up and down, frowned, and urged, “Hurry up and brush your teeth and wash your face. Your mom’s cooking is about to get cold. You sleep so soundly every day, we have to come and wake you up.”
Upon hearing his father’s voice, Lou Yan habitually wanted to retort as he used to, but before the words could come out, his eyes stung with bitterness.
He no longer had the chance to apologize to his father. Now, he was standing in front of him, speaking and acting just as strictly annoying as he remembered, as if his real father had come back to life.
But this was fake! This was fake!!!
Lou Yan clenched his fists, the pain keeping him calm, his voice hoarse, “Got it.”
Mother Lou came forward to gently wipe Lou Yan’s eyes, softly touching his head, “What’s wrong, Little Yan? Were you upset by Dad’s scolding? Your dad has this temper, you know, but he actually loves you very much.”
Father Lou glanced nervously and uncomfortably at Lou Yan. Seeing his son with red eyes, he instantly regretted what he had just said. But he couldn’t bring himself to apologize to Lou Yan, so he awkwardly snorted, “What did I say wrong? I didn’t scold him!”
Mother Lou gave Father Lou a reproachful look and gently patted Lou Yan’s hand as she said, “Little Yan, don’t argue with your dad. Go wash up quickly. Mom made your favorite shrimp dumplings for you.”
Lou Yan’s excited mood gradually calmed down. He nodded and walked towards the door, feeling calm and composed.
The current Mother Lou was so different from his real-life mother in terms of personality. Although she was as gentle and loving as Lou Yan’s mother in his dreams, Lou Yan became even more aware that it was all fake. Therefore, with each word his “mother” said, Lou Yan became calmer.
Exiting the bedroom, he entered the familiar yet unfamiliar living room. Following his memory, Lou Yan walked to the bathroom. Inside, every bottle and jar was meticulously arranged, and the towels hung without a single wrinkle, each towel hanging at the same height.
The bathroom floor was spotlessly clean, without a single hair or drop of water. Even the floor tiles were precisely cut square ceramic pieces, making the entire bathroom uncomfortably pristine.
It was too clean.
Was keeping the bathroom clean also one of the household rules?
Lou Yan frowned and made a mental note of the placement of all items in the bathroom, so he wouldn’t mess them up and have trouble restoring order later. He carefully searched through the bathroom and found three toothbrush cups neatly arranged in the cabinet above the mirror. The toothbrushes in each cup were all facing the same direction, and each cup matched the color of the toothbrushes, all of which were of the same style but different colors: red, green, and blue.
Lou Yan looked at the three different-colored toothbrush cups with a serious expression.
Which toothbrush cup was his?
