Chapter 103: My Name is Jian Ningxuan

Sunshine Coast?
Jian Ningxuan vaguely heard a familiar voice drifting in from outside the window. He got out of bed and came to the window. Outside, it was silent, except for the occasional sound of traffic on the road, there was no other noise.
An Bu liked lively places. If she came here for vacation, she would definitely go to Sunshine Coast. Jian Ningxuan thought about whether he should go to Sunshine Coast tomorrow as well. It wasn’t easy to invade the M-country’s traffic monitoring system. Instead of risking using hacking techniques, it might be better to hire a large number of people to conduct a carpet search in Crystal City.
The next day, Jian Ningxuan sent An Bu’s photo to his assistant for printing and asked him to organize people for a search, simultaneously contacting the Sun family to inform them of An Bu’s disappearance.
An Bu was employed by the Sun family, and this time, she came to M-country with Sun Zhuobai for work. Morally and logically, they should help. As long as he could find An Bu, Jian Ningxuan wouldn’t hesitate to use any manpower or resources.
After a sleepless night, Jian Ningxuan made some preparations and then set off for Sunshine Coast.
An Bu, three hours ahead of him, ran towards Sunshine Coast, from 5 am to 8 am. When she was about to reach her destination, a car sped past her. Jian Ningxuan, who was looking down at his phone, coincidentally lowered his head, and when he raised it again through the rearview mirror, he inadvertently caught a glimpse of a figure behind him. His pupils suddenly shrank.
“Stop the car!” Jian Ningxuan suddenly spoke, startling the driver who slammed on the brakes.
Jian Ningxuan quickly got out of the car. Behind him was a road that seemed to have no end, lined with various shops. People occasionally passed by doing morning exercises, but there was no sign of that familiar figure.
Although it was just a brief glance, he felt like he hadn’t mistaken the person. Despite the different hairstyle, the deep familiarity couldn’t be shaken off.
“Sir, it’s not convenient to park here. What do you think…” the driver reminded.
“You go ahead. I’ll call you when I need the car.”
“Alright, sir. Please take care of yourself.” The driver cautioned before driving away.
Jian Ningxuan walked along the street, searching between various shops. After a short while, his gaze stopped at a department store. Seemingly with a hunch, he stepped inside.
Most of the supermarket staff were women. Seeing the handsome Jian Ningxuan walking in, they cast flirtatious glances at him.
Jian Ningxuan took a glance around. The space was only a couple of hundred square meters, and it was easy to see everything. Besides a cashier and two shop assistants, there were no customers. Not surprising, as it was not yet 9 am, and there weren’t many people buying daily necessities at this hour.
A hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes, and he was about to leave. However, he paused, walked to the sunscreen display shelf, picked up a small sunscreen lotion, looked at it, and then put it back, exchanging it for an oversized bottle. He carried it to the cashier to pay.
“Hello, the total is 15 M yuan,” the cashier said with a smile.
Jian Ningxuan swiped his phone and then walked out of the supermarket, continuing to search for An Bu.
In fact, Jian Ningxuan’s approach to finding people was correct. An Bu did intend to buy sunscreen, but she first visited a swimwear store twenty meters away, where she bought a set of colorful one-piece swimsuits. When she came out, Jian Ningxuan had entered the fruit shop across the street.
The two of them had a certain tacit understanding but lacked a bit of luck.
Jian Ningxuan searched from the beginning to the end of the street, while An Bu bought from the end of the street to the beginning. Then, fully equipped, she headed straight to Sunshine Coast.
During this time, she planned to take good care of her corpse, allowing it to quickly return to its best state—full and moisturized. Beauty care, nutritional supplements, vitality maintenance—she would exercise, learn, and enjoy life. The life of an old corpse was so fulfilling.
An Bu changed into a swimsuit, rented a surfboard, and then, facing the sea breeze, ran towards the ocean. With the waves pushing her, she started gliding through the water.
By the time Jian Ningxuan arrived at the beach, An Bu had turned into a small black dot leaping between the sea and the sky.
Walking back and forth on the beach for thirty to forty minutes, Jian Ningxuan still couldn’t find the person he was looking for. Covered in sweat, he stood alone under a parasol, watching the lively crowd, and the long-suppressed sadness surged again. If his speculation was wrong, and if Bu Bu was actually gone, with her corpse stolen, what would he do? Thinking of this possibility, he felt a chilling fear, unable to suppress the anxiety.
Rubbing the ring on his finger, Jian Ningxuan forced himself to calm down, firmly believing that Bu Bu was still alive. The person who just passed by, wasn’t that her?
Suppressing his emotions, Jian Ningxuan regained his usual composure and continued searching on the beach. Knowing Bu Bu’s personality, after each outdoor activity, she would find a comfortable place for a soak. The best places near Sunshine Coast for a bath were hotels or wellness centers. However… did she have money? If not, wouldn’t she be wandering the streets now? What if she encountered criminals? M-country’s public safety wasn’t that great, especially at night, making solitary women the most vulnerable targets.
While Jian Ningxuan was anxious on one side, An Bu was having a great time on the other. As the sea breeze gradually calmed, she sat on the surfboard, letting the sea carry her. Although she always looked so happy and carefree, she couldn’t feel joy. No matter how actively she tried to enjoy life, her heart was always empty. Only in moments of quietness would she realize the gap between herself and the living. She was just shaping herself according to the standards of the living, trying hard to blend into the world, searching for the lost feelings.
Bu Bu…
The sea breeze lingered in her ears, seemingly bringing a distant call.
An Bu turned around, looking at the crowd on the beach. She always felt like someone was waiting for her. This emotion flashed and disappeared, then returned to indifference. Looking at the sun, she thought it was time to go back, have a fruit juice, and do some spa.
An Bu jumped into the water, lying on the surfboard, lazily drifting towards the shore.
Checking the time, Jian Ningxuan realized it was almost lunchtime, and he planned to explore nearby hotels or restaurants.
Just as he turned around, An Bu happened to walk ashore, holding a surfboard, about 50 meters away from him. One after the other, they walked towards the land.
An Bu changed her clothes and walked into a seafood restaurant with a bag. Holding the menu handed by the waiter, she was about to order a plate of salt and pepper shrimp when she suddenly paused. Why did she want to order seafood?
After a moment of silence, An Bu changed her order to vegetarian porridge, seaweed pancakes, and fresh fruit juice.
While An Bu was dining, less than five hundred meters away, Jian Ningxuan took out his phone and made a call. He temporarily hired over a hundred people from a nearby security company, sent them An Bu’s photo, and instructed them to search hotels, restaurants, beverage shops, and any places related to food within a two-kilometer radius.
Half an hour later, An Bu finished her meal, paid the bill, and left the seafood restaurant.
Walking on the street with a bag, she suddenly felt like someone was following her. Without showing any signs, she observed her surroundings and turned into a mall.
“Boss, suspected target found. She just entered Water Mall,” a security guard called Jian Ningxuan from outside the mall.
Jian Ningxuan’s eyes brightened, speaking in a deep voice, “Immediately follow her. Explain the purpose directly, don’t hide anything. Ask her to wait; I’ll be there soon!”
He knew An Bu’s alertness. Once she noticed anything unusual, shaking off these security guards wouldn’t be difficult.
However, his warning was a step too late. By the time the security guard went in to find her, An Bu had already escaped through a secure passage.
Regretful, Jian Ningxuan immediately called the head of the security team, instructing them that once they found An Bu, they should go over and identify themselves.
Putting down his phone, Jian Ningxuan felt rejuvenated. As long as she was really here, he would surely find her!
After shaking off her pursuers, An Bu planned to take a taxi back to the hotel. While waiting on the roadside, the feeling of being followed reappeared.
What’s going on? Did I cause trouble before losing my memory?
Catching a glimpse of two agile foreigners quickly approaching, An Bu, without thinking, turned and ran.
“No! Don’t run! We mean no harm.” The two security guards shouted from behind.
Unfortunately, the street was too noisy, and An Bu, a hundred meters away from them, didn’t hear a thing.
At the hotel last night, An Bu had memorized the nearby routes. With the crowd’s cover, she made a few turns and quickly disappeared from their sight.
Jian Ningxuan felt anxious: Bu Bu, why are you running? Do you want to worry your cat master at home?!
Buying a wig, a hat, sunglasses, a sun cloak, and high-heeled shoes from a small shop on the street, An Bu had transformed into a blonde woman wearing a blue sun hat, black sunglasses, a yellow sun cloak, and red high heels.
A security guard walked directly past her, not recognizing her at all. If Jian Ningxuan were here, he wouldn’t miss it because her colors were too “vivid.”
An Bu smiled, walking gracefully in high heels with long strides. She then hailed a taxi and headed to the hotel, quickly leaving Jian Ningxuan’s search area.
For the next two hours, Jian Ningxuan didn’t receive any feedback from the security team. He immediately realized that the search operation had failed.
In the evening, Jian Ningxuan, dragging his exhausted body, returned to the hotel. Instead of going straight to his room, he sat on the lobby sofa, gazing ahead with dim eyes.
Having not eaten or drunk anything for the entire day, he was mentally exhausted, feverish, and in a terrible state.
Rubbing his temples, Jian Ningxuan leaned back on the sofa, his eyelids extremely heavy, as if he could fall asleep in the next second.
In the midst of blurred consciousness, he suddenly felt a cool breeze brushing past him. Jian Ningxuan abruptly opened his eyes, turning to look, only to see a few unfamiliar foreigners.
Was it an illusion?
Having experienced several disappointments, Jian Ningxuan felt that he was becoming a bit nervous.
He got into the elevator, pressing the button for the 8th floor. There were still a few people in the elevator, with some getting off on the 3rd, 5th, and 6th floors. It stopped on the 7th floor, and as the elevator door slowly opened, Jian Ningxuan looked up. In his blue eyes, a familiar figure suddenly appeared.
A chestnut-colored, medium-length curly hair, a blue casual outfit, purple sports shoes, a yellow Chanel bag—bright and colorful, as always.
Her fair skin, slightly slender figure—An Bu’s gaze swept over Jian Ningxuan without any ripples, just a friendly smile. She then stood next to him and pressed the button for the 1st floor.
Jian Ningxuan looked at her back, feeling a bit dry-eyed. His beloved one was right in front of him, yet he couldn’t move. After searching so hard, he didn’t expect that they would be staying in the same hotel.
His An Bu had truly come back to life! But judging by her reaction, it seemed she didn’t remember him. Did she lose a segment of her memory with each resurrection? It was the same last time when she saved his cousin; this time, it was to save him. Thinking back, perhaps she had died once before to save a tourist who fell into a valley…
At this point, Jian Ningxuan’s fear was infinitely magnified. How many times had she experienced death? How many friends and family had she lost? If he hadn’t found her, would she start a new life with a different identity, disappearing completely from his world?
He didn’t care who she was, what secrets she held; as long as she was alive and with him, he had no other wishes. This time, he was determined to protect her well, not letting her lose anything precious anymore.
Ding! The elevator stopped on the 8th floor, but no one got off.
“Are you not getting off on the 8th floor?” An Bu suddenly spoke.
“No, I’m going to the 1st floor too,” Jian Ningxuan replied calmly, suppressing the emotions in his eyes.
“Oh.” An Bu didn’t ask further, allowing the elevator doors to close.
In the small space, filled with a hot atmosphere, such a vibrant vitality was quite rare.
An Bu glanced at the man beside her and suddenly he extended his hand, saying softly, “Hello, I’m Jian Ningxuan.”
Was he Jian Ningxuan? The one who gave her over two million vitality points?
An Bu looked at him with some surprise, then politely shook hands with him. She noticed that her vitality points started increasing—1, 3, 5…
What surprised her even more was that a dazzling light shone from the man’s body, instantly turning the gray world into a colorful one.
Both of them wore the same ring on their hands, a deep blue gem resembling the ocean under the sunlight—bright and dazzling.
An Bu suddenly felt like she had come alive again…
