Seeing the identical rings on both of them, An Bu was certain that they knew each other before, and not just casually. From his initiative in introducing himself, it was evident that he knew about her amnesia.
“Hello, I’m An Bu,” An Bu didn’t ask much, going along with him as if it were their first meeting. “It’s a coincidence; your ring is the same as mine. Did you also find it in an antique shop?”
Jian Ningxuan’s expression was subtle. “Yes.” Just a little over twenty million, that’s all. If you say so.
“Is Mr. Jian from Country Z?” An Bu asked again.
“Yes, I live in the Mingxiang community in Phoenix City, Country Z.” Jian Ningxuan looked at her with keen eyes.
An Bu couldn’t help but, “…”
Wasn’t this the address registered on her identity card? Pretending not to recognize it while intentionally hinting at their acquaintance, waiting for her to uncover the truth herself?
An Bu wasn’t going to fall for it. She just smiled politely, and as the elevator reached the first floor, she withdrew her hand and walked out.
Jian Ningxuan followed closely behind her, and they both arrived at the hotel’s self-service supermarket.
An Bu planned to buy some fruits and drinks. Seeing this, Jian Ningxuan took the initiative to help her choose some fresh fruits and the usual drinks. He also sneakily added a few cans of fish to the shopping cart.
Seeing those cans of fish, An Bu vaguely understood why she ordered seafood in the restaurant before—it was because someone liked it.
Jian Ningxuan noticed that An Bu had paid for her own groceries, and his eyes immediately lit up.
He observed the bank card An Bu used, although he didn’t see the full card number. He could be sure it wasn’t the one she gave him. It had only been two or three days since leaving the hospital—how did she manage to retrieve her passport, identity card, and bank card under amnesia?
However, considering her ability to die and come back to life, there didn’t seem to be anything strange about it.
“There’s a good vegetarian restaurant nearby. Would you like to try it?” Jian Ningxuan invited.
An Bu casually said, “Don’t you like seafood?”
“But you like vegetarian dishes,” Jian Ningxuan’s heart warmed. “Shall we go?”
An Bu stopped in her tracks, turned to look at him, and almost blurted out, “Do you know me?” However, she held it back.
“Are you treating me?” she asked with a smile.
“Yeah, feel free to order whatever you like.” Jian Ningxuan took the shopping bag from her hands, his movements natural and seamless.
“Great, then I won’t be polite.”
Two “strangers” who pretended not to know each other, yet every action and word exuded familiarity and understanding. An Bu felt awkward admitting her amnesia.
The two arrived at the vegetarian restaurant. After An Bu finished ordering, Jian Ningxuan added two more dishes himself and asked the waiter to prepare them.
“Mr. Jian, are you here in M country for tourism?” An Bu propped her chin, starting to gather information.
“No, I’m here to find… my fiancée.” Jian Ningxuan stared at her deeply, as if he couldn’t get enough of her.
Could it be that his fiancée was her? How could a corpse be engaged to a living person? A ghost wedding? An Bu firmly refused to believe that, though her face remained calm. “Did you find her?”
“Yes, I found her,” Jian Ningxuan answered seriously. “But she’s facing a little trouble now. I’ll wait for her to recover, then take her home together.”
An Bu raised an eyebrow, “…Why not take her home yourself?”
“She likes taking the initiative.”
An Bu thought, How did you come to that conclusion?
At this moment, the waiter came with the dishes. When An Bu saw the two dishes Jian Ningxuan ordered – Golden Fish and Chicken with Rice and Shrimp – she noticed that, despite the names having fish and shrimp, the ingredients were all vegetarian. The taste was similar to fish and shrimp.
An Bu laughed, “Are you a cat?”
Jian Ningxuan paused in his eating motion, a slight ripple in his eyes. No matter how many times she lost her memory, An Bu would never change the way she felt about him.
An Bu saw him unexpectedly starting to glow without warning and wondered if her earlier words about a cat had touched his sensitive point. A cat?
To be honest, he did look like a cat, a handsome and fit orange cat.
An Bu couldn’t help but smile and took out her phone. “Shall we exchange numbers? It will be convenient to stay in touch after returning to the country.”
“Yeah.” Jian Ningxuan was joyful in his heart but remained calm on his face. He saved An Bu’s number on his phone and dialed her to make sure he got it right.
An Bu looked at the string of numbers, feeling a familiar sensation. She believed she could remember the rest of the digits just by looking at the first four.
Seeing that she had saved the number, Jian Ningxuan casually asked, “Do you know the three characters of my name?”
An Bu glanced at him. Of course, she knew. It was Jian Ningxuan, the mighty one who gave her over two million vitality points. Although she thought so, she turned the phone screen towards him. “Is this correct?”
Jian Ningxuan stared at the three characters, feeling a bit disappointed. Why wasn’t it “Cat Master”?
An Bu retrieved her phone, suddenly asking, “If I give you a nickname, will your fiancée be jealous?”
“No,” Jian Ningxuan answered quickly. “She would be happy.”
An Bu: It’s you who would be happy. Look at the radiant light around you; even the food on the table is illuminated by you…
An Bu was now sure that the person he referred to as his “fiancée” was herself. Whether it was the ring or his attitude toward her, everything indicated that fact, and she couldn’t deny it.
Did this person already know that she was an animated corpse? Would her special attention to him be enough for her to let go of all concerns?
Jian Ningxuan saw that she had changed the contact name again and asked calmly, “What nickname did you give me?”
“Mr. Jian.”
Jian Ningxuan: “…” Isn’t using my full name better?
An Bu turned her phone screen towards him again. “Look, isn’t it cute?”
Jian Ningxuan noticed his avatar, which she had set as a mischievous orange cat. His previously low spirits suddenly brightened.
“It’s very cute, and it suits you well,” he replied nonchalantly.
An Bu thought to herself, “Mr. Jian, can you be any more obvious? You have the ability to shine, but you can’t just tell me directly that you’re my fiancé!”
An Bu decided that as long as he didn’t say it, she would play dumb until the end and see if she could annoy him to death. It was a good opportunity to reassess their relationship during this time.
No matter how close they were before, she had lost that memory, and many of the feelings no longer existed. She even hesitated about whether to continue their relationship. After all, they couldn’t be together forever, so ending this relationship sooner might be better for both of them.
Looking up at Jian Ningxuan, she saw him attentively eating tofu-made goldfish, occasionally emitting a golden light. Their eyes inadvertently met, and the deep and warm affection in his eyes was as pure as jade, without any impurities.
“Mr. Jian,” An Bu suddenly spoke up.
“Yeah?”
“You’re really handsome.”
Caught off guard by An Bu’s flirtation, Mr. Jian was speechless. An Bu had fallen for him at first sight once againヽ(=^?ω?^=)丿
An Bu, uncontrollably seductive: “…” Wasn’t the plan to end this relationship? She was completely dominated by male charm!
