Chapter 109: Sharing Deliciousness
<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>
Overcoming his initial psychological barriers, Jian Ningxuan discovered that the food here was indeed delicious. Sneaking a glance at An Bu, he saw her calmly nibbling on vegetables and sipping juice, knowing that she couldn’t taste anything, which made him feel sorry for her. He really wanted to share his own feelings with her.
At that moment, An Bu’s movement suddenly paused, turning her head to look at him, with a glimmer of light in her eyes. What just happened? It’s like her sense of taste suddenly improved? For about two seconds, the faint sweet and sour taste became very strong, and the fragrance of the vegetables lingered on her lips and teeth, opening up her taste buds.
“Do you want some of this?” Jian Ningxuan saw her staring at him, so he cut a piece of steak and offered it to her lips.
“Is it delicious?” An Bu asked.
“Very delicious,” Jian Ningxuan replied affirmatively.
So An Bu took a bite of the steak, wanting to test if it was a coincidence earlier. Surprisingly, she once again tasted the true flavor of the food – tender, peppery, and chewy. Although it couldn’t increase her vitality, it briefly restored her sense of taste.
She somewhat understood why she would be with this man no matter how many times she lost her memory. As long as she met him, she would inevitably be attracted to him.
“Mr. Jian, which one do you think is the best?” An Bu pointed at the food on the table.
“Salmon skewers and donuts.” Jian Ningxuan assessed.
“I think the bacon melon roll and pork tenderloin are also good.” Silvia added.
An Bu first tasted the bacon melon roll, bland; then she switched to the donuts, and her tongue immediately felt overwhelmed by sweetness. Next, she tried a piece of pork tenderloin, like chewing wax; then, she switched to the salmon skewers, fragrant and delicious… So, only Mr. Jian thinks it’s delicious, then she can taste the flavor?
An Bu looked at Jian Ningxuan in amazement. Was her sense of taste dominated by this man?
Jian Ningxuan looked back at her: Do you want more feeding?
He picked up a piece of steak and offered it to her. An Bu mentally refused, but her greedy mouth uncontrollably took a bite.
Silvia: Can you please stop feeding me dog food? She still wants to keep some space in her stomach for something else!
The meal took almost an hour. An Bu ate very satisfyingly, even willing to increase her death energy points a bit more. Her body was not suitable for digesting meat; too much meat could increase the risk of death energy (normal death energy). However, she felt it was worth it for the taste.
After the meal, An Bu and Silvia exchanged phone numbers and then waved goodbye.
On the way back to their accommodation, An Bu secretly thought that she must develop more vegetarian dishes or soups that Jian Ningxuan liked in the future.
“What are you thinking?” Jian Ningxuan asked.
An Bu glanced at him. “Eating too much meat is not good; you should eat more vegetables to avoid gaining weight when middle age.”
Jian Ningxuan: “…”
Whether before or after losing her memory, Bu Bu would always worry about him gaining weight. Yet, paradoxically, she liked to feed him delicious food.
Sure enough, An Bu’s next words were, “In the future, I’ll create some tasty vegetarian dishes for you, ensuring a balanced diet—strong but not fat.”
Jian Ningxuan: “…” Does Bu Bu have some opinion about his physique?
After returning to their accommodation and resting for a couple of hours, they prepared to attend the local beer festival.
Before leaving, Jian Ningxuan received a call from Sun Zhuo’s mother, Martha.
“Your assistant informed me that Miss An has been found, is that right?”
“Yes.”
“How is she? Zhuohe is very worried; he hasn’t slept well these past few days.”
“She had a little accident, lost a few years of memories.” Jian Ningxuan didn’t hide the truth; there was no need to hide it. “I’m currently taking her around to relax and see if we can recover her memories. As for the assistant training job, I’m afraid it can’t continue.”
“Memory loss?” Martha’s surprised voice came through the phone. “How did that happen? What happened?”
“It’s just a minor accident; her brain suffered an impact, causing temporary amnesia. Her body is fine. Thank you for your concern, Mrs. Martha.” Although he said it was a “minor accident,” in his mind, the image of An Bu lying in the morgue came involuntarily, and his heart once again felt a tearing pain.
Quickly lifting his head, he saw An Bu, who was putting on shoes in the entrance, and the panicked emotions in him gradually settled.
After ending the call, Jian Ningxuan walked quickly over, intending to change into sports shoes. However, he saw An Bu handing him a pair of slippers.
Jian Ningxuan:?
“For the beer festival, it’s better not to wear sports shoes, and don’t wear any expensive clothes. The mud fight might ruin them all.” An Bu looked at the shirt and trousers he was wearing, asking, “Do you have other cheap clothes?”
Jian Ningxuan’s clothes were bought temporarily after arriving in Country M. Although they couldn’t be considered high-end, they were still branded, costing at least a thousand yuan each.
“Just as I thought you wouldn’t pay attention. Fortunately, I was prepared.” Like performing magic, An Bu pulled out a large floral-patterned T-shirt and a pair of floral-patterned harem pants from behind. They looked like the kind you could get three for 100 yuan or buy two, get one free from a street vendor.
Jian Ningxuan: …Bu Bu’s sense of style, as always, is… refreshing and elegant.
Although it slightly deviated from his image, Jian Ningxuan still put them on. The main reason was that An Bu was wearing a floral-patterned T-shirt and harem pants as well.
After the two went out, they immediately attracted a lot of attention. It was because they were simply too dazzling.
“Ah, we didn’t plan this well,” An Bu realized when they reached the event venue.
“What’s wrong?”
“We’re so conspicuous in these clothes. Aren’t we just setting ourselves up as targets?”
Jian Ningxuan surveyed the surroundings and found that most people were wearing low-key colored clothing, some even just in shorts. They, on the other hand, were like a pair of colorful flowers.
“It’s okay; you can hide in my arms later.” Jian Ningxuan pointed to his chest, indicating it was reliable.
“No, I want to fight!” An old corpse with hyperactivity disorder stubbornly didn’t follow the script.
Jian Ningxuan: “…” Couldn’t she give his chest a chance to shine?
A bonfire rose on the open ground, dozens of barrels of beer were placed, and there were several artificial mud pits around. Dynamic music stirred the emotions of the crowd, and people danced and sang around the bonfire. Children had already started rolling in the mud.
It wasn’t clear who initiated the battle, but with a burst of laughter, clumps of mud flew through the air. People dodged and attacked, creating an extremely lively atmosphere.
As An Bu predicted, she and Jian Ningxuan became the main targets of the attack. An Bu, not one to back down, returned double the mud thrown at her, accurately hitting her targets each time, creating popping sounds.
In comparison, Jian Ningxuan was more refined. Even covered in mud, he didn’t forget to maintain his image, with elegant and unhurried movements. While others slapped him five times, he only returned one slap.
Seeing him being “bullied,” An Bu’s fighting spirit soared. Mud flew like bullets, and she hit her opponents accurately, causing them to flee. Someone originally tasked with protecting An Bu ended up being the one protected.
Witnessing himself dragging down An Bu, Jian Ningxuan also let go, wiping the mud off his face and launching a counterattack. Soon, he was in the midst of a muddy battle…
After the mud fight, everyone turned into mud monkeys, and their original faces were almost unrecognizable. Over a dozen townspeople picked up water hoses and began washing the mud off everyone.
Jian Ningxuan’s T-shirt had disappeared, revealing a well-defined, muscular upper body. An Bu also took off her shirt, wearing a bikini underneath. Her graceful figure was on full display, and the mud slowly slid into the deep cleavage, emitting an inexplicable charm.
Unable to resist, Jian Ningxuan pulled her into his arms, engaging in a passionate kiss. After the intense activity, he exuded an astonishing heat throughout his body.
An Bu’s hands circled his neck, tilting her head to respond to his enthusiasm, feeling her vitality points gradually increasing. Her cold body seemed to gain warmth.
The two passionately kissed for a long time. If it weren’t for the inappropriate venue, they might have reached nirvana on the spot.
There were also many other couples around them engaging in similar intimate moments. Some even ran to more secluded areas for privacy.
Although Jian Ningxuan wanted to, he wasn’t as unrestrained as others. He believed that matters between lovers should take place in a quiet and private space.
“Shall we go back?” Jian Ningxuan’s low voice sounded in An Bu’s ear.
An Bu, detached from the passion, gradually returned to coldness. Although she didn’t reject this man, going from holding hands to getting into bed in one day felt a bit too fast!
Jian Ningxuan noticed her hesitation, slowed his breath, moved aside, and took her hand, asking, “Do you want to try the local beer here?”
“Sure.” An Bu felt his thoughtfulness and agreed with a smile.
The two approached the beer barrels, poured themselves a glass each, took a sip, and simultaneously showed an expression of indescribable difficulty.
An Bu looked at Jian Ningxuan: So, the taste of something unpleasant can be shared…
She decisively put down the glass and said to Jian Ningxuan, “Mr. Jian, I believe you will become a gourmet in the future.”
Jian Ningxuan: Where is this coming from…
“I believe in you!” An Bu patted his shoulder with high expectations.
Jian Ningxuan: …
Bu Bu’s thought process was always so elusive.
After the celebration event, the two returned contentedly.
Back at the rented bed-and-breakfast, they coincidentally encountered two other guests staying in the same place. An Bu’s gaze fell on them, a hint of gloom flickering in her eyes.
The two guests in front of them seemed to be a couple. An Bu saw signs of impending death on the man and noticed a source of death energy around the woman. The death energy entwined between them, and if she wasn’t mistaken, the man’s death might be related to the woman.
They were both drunk, stumbling into their room, leaving the door open as they clumsily collapsed onto the bed.
An Bu withdrew her gaze, extended her hand to close the door without locking it, and then pulled Jian Ningxuan back to their own room.
After washing up separately and eating a couple of fruits, they went to bed.
With An Bu by his side, Jian Ningxuan slept well. However, his senses were sharp, and if An Bu moved more than 7 meters away, he would wake up immediately.
Around 3 AM, An Bu’s dual pupils flickered slightly in the darkness. She looked at the increasingly dense death energy seeping through the neighboring window. She got up, walked to the door, and prepared to assist if necessary.
