Chapter 124: Wedding in Progress

<Previous Chapter<Table of Contents>Next Chapter>

Jian Ningxuan and An Bu officially entered the countdown to the wedding, booking hotels, hiring emcees, sending out invitations, posting on social media, taking wedding photos, and being busy but happy.

An Bu had no other relatives, and her circle of friends was also small. Compared to the prosperous Jian family, she seemed very simple. Although most people in the Jian family didn’t care about this, there were inevitably some gossip, feeling that An Bu was not worthy of Jian Ningxuan.

Jian Ningxuan’s father held a high position, his uncle was rich and powerful, and other relatives were either rich or noble. He himself was outstanding in appearance and extraordinary in status. If it weren’t for his special constitution, it would be difficult for ordinary people to approach him, and he would undoubtedly be a sought-after object for many young ladies from noble families.

But he himself acted low-key, and it wasn’t until the news of his marriage was announced that everyone noticed his existence. After a little investigation, they immediately realized what they had missed, feeling regretful. The Jian family actually hid such a small boss? If they had known earlier, they would have sent all their daughters over the age of sixteen, so how could a girl with no background like An Bu seize the opportunity?

Many people harbored sour grapes mentality and privately envied, and hated An Bu.

“Bubu, you are the best,” Jian Ningxuan affirmed with certainty after a vigorous battle.

While eating chocolate, An Bu looked at him with a smile: “Generally, what men say in bed is not reliable.”

Jian Ningxuan: “…”

“But,” An Bu handed him a piece of chocolate, “if it’s you, even if it’s a movie line, I believe it.”

So Mr. Jian began to shine again.

A week before the wedding, Jian Ningxuan was forcibly dragged back home by his uncle from An Bu’s little nest, being told to come back on the wedding day to claim the bride and not to linger in someone else’s home before the wedding.

Jian Ningxuan left without packing any clothes. Later that night, An Bu saw him in the bedroom, looking lively and fragrant.

“I thought we agreed not to see each other before the wedding?” An Bu asked.

Jian Ningxuan replied calmly, “Without me protecting the house, can you sleep soundly?”

An Bu was indeed sleeping soundly, but it’s you who isn’t.

“Mr. Jian, do you know what I want to do most now?” An Bu asked.

“What is it?”

“I’ll tell you tomorrow.”

Jian Ningxuan: “…”

And then, that night, someone was pondering the answer to this question.

The next night, An Bu led Jian Ningxuan out and headed straight to the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Half an hour later, the two of them walked out with a small booklet each in their hands.

Sitting in the car, An Bu raised the bright red marriage certificate: “Do you know what I want to do now?”

Jian Ningxuan, shining brightly, but with a cold face, said, “Without a ceremony, without exchanging rings, without witnesses, is it really okay to register for marriage so casually?”

“I can’t wait to become Mrs. Jian,” someone sneaked and stuffed her household register into her bedside table. Now she acted as if she was “in a hurry.” Was it appropriate?

Jian Ningxuan carefully put away the marriage certificate: “Well, Mrs. Jian, let’s go home.”

Along the way, someone basked in the glow of happiness, surrounded by a riot of colors within a five-meter radius, like a gorgeously decorated wedding car, carrying a rainbow, heading towards their future together.

The day before the wedding, Jian Ningxuan returned to his uncle’s villa, waiting to marry his bride the next day.

In the early morning, hundreds of luxury cars appeared on the road, forming a magnificent sight that attracted countless onlookers to stop and take photos and videos with their phones.

An hour later, this luxury car fleet lined up outside the gate of an ordinary residential area, blocking off the entire area.

The nearby residents all stretched their necks and craned their heads to watch.

“Wow, which tycoon is getting married? So extravagant.”

“We all live in this ordinary neighborhood, who could be so lucky to quietly marry into wealth?”

“I know, it’s Miss An who lives next door to me. She’s been living with her boyfriend for a year, and I never thought her boyfriend would be so rich.”

“Miss An is a nice girl, she’s helped me a lot.”

“What’s so good about her? I used to see her staying out all night, working odd jobs everywhere. Without some means, how could someone like her marry into a wealthy family?”

“That’s true, she must not be a simple person.”

“Sigh, this is an era where poverty is laughed at but not promiscuity.”

Jian Ningxuan stepped out of the car holding a bouquet of flowers, his well-fitted suit outlining his tall and straight figure. With his handsome appearance and outstanding demeanor, he seemed like a model walking off the stage, eliciting excited screams from the crowd.

Behind him were also the young descendants of the Jian family and some of his friends, all looking radiant and exuding strong auras, dazzling the onlookers.

Jian Ningxuan’s cousin, Jian Ningze, came over and whispered, “Are we being too ostentatious?” implying that the bride might be overshadowed and looked down upon.

Jian Ningxuan ignored him and walked towards the building.

A group of people occupied three elevators and aggressively headed towards An Bu’s home.

However, when they broke through the gate and were ready to claim the bride, they found that the bride was missing. Instead, there were two girls in dresses sitting in the living room, one was An Bu’s close friend Xin Yan, and the other was the powerful woman Fei Xinjue.

“Where’s Bubu?” Jian Ningxuan asked.

Fei Xinjue and Xin Yan reached out their hands, smiling but saying nothing.

Jian Ningxuan instinctively handed over a big red envelope.

Fei Xinjue then pointed upwards, “On the rooftop.”

Jian Ningxuan immediately turned around and led the crowd towards the rooftop.

The rooftop was empty, with no one in sight.

Just as they were puzzled, a roar suddenly came from the sky. Looking up, they saw a helicopter slowly approaching. An Bu was sitting at the doorway of the helicopter wearing a short wedding dress, showing off her fair legs. The long veil fluttered in the air, and petals fell like snowflakes, making her look handsome and beautiful at the same time.

“Wow, my sister-in-law is amazing,” Jian Ningze, the cousin, thought An Bu might not be able to hold the scene, but she actually used a helicopter.

However, the next moment, her actions almost gave everyone present a heart attack.

The helicopter flew to the top of the rooftop, and a rope ladder descended. An Bu stood on the ladder, leaving one hand free and reaching out to Jian Ningxuan.

“Mr. Jian, let me take you to show off and fly together.”

Without hesitation, Jian Ningxuan reached out his hand. Amidst the astonished gazes of the crowd, the bride pulled him onto the ladder, secured him with a safety rope, and flew off with the helicopter.

Hey, wait a minute! This script is all wrong! Weren’t they here to claim the bride? How come the groom ended up being taken away in the end?

Mr. Jian, is it really okay for you to just leave us brothers and sisters here like this?!

No matter how irritable their friends were, the guy who was lured away by the little demon wouldn’t be coming back.

The helicopter flew all the way, attracting the attention of countless passersby.

Jian Ningxuan and An Bu stood embraced on the rope ladder, with skyscrapers and bustling streets below them.

“Mr. Jian, are you thrilled? Is it exciting?” An Bu leaned against Jian Ningxuan’s arm, her head tilted.

“Nonsense,” Jian Ningxuan looked at her helplessly.

“Who told me I have a Mr. Jian who indulges my nonsense?” An Bu suddenly leaned back, almost hanging entirely outside the ladder, the light veil behind her fluttering like white wings.

Jian Ningxuan’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly reached out to hook her slender waist, pulling her back into his arms.

“Bubu, don’t scare me.”

“Mr. Jian,” An Bu looked at him seriously, “are you willing to spend your life with a living dead who doesn’t have any vitality?”

“Bubu, are you willing to spend your life with a man who can’t accompany you forever?” Jian Ningxuan replied.

“I am willing, Mr. Jian,” even if she would face endless longing.

“I am willing too,” even if he was destined to leave her first.

Not seeking eternity, only seizing the moment.
