Chapter 132: Love Meal

Qu Xiu’s condition was rapidly deteriorating, with symptoms including vision loss, memory decline, numbness in limbs, balance disorder, headaches, and vomiting. It could be said that she was watching herself inch closer to death every day, the physical pain and mental torment causing her to completely lose the desire to live.
An Bu tried to communicate with Qu Xiu but received no response; she just stared blankly out the window, her eyes devoid of life.
The hardest to save are those who have given up on themselves.
“How is she?” Fu Junyao asked An Bu as she emerged from the bedroom.
“The situation doesn’t look very optimistic,” An Bu gently closed the door, “Mr. Fu, does Mrs. Qu have any hobbies or anyone she particularly cares about?”
Fu Junyao thought for a moment, shaking his head, “Mother usually only associates with ladies from our circle, and her relationship with her family isn’t particularly close, aside from her deceased father, there’s no one else she particularly cares about.” Pausing for a moment, he added, “When mother was first hospitalized, many relatives and friends came to visit her, but few came after three or five days.”
His meaning was clear; Qu Xiu didn’t have anyone she could truly open up to, most were just casual acquaintances.
“As for hobbies, she likes playing cards, shopping, and gardening, nothing unusual.”
After pondering for a moment, An Bu asked, “Does she like pets?”
Fu Junyao was taken aback for a moment, then answered, “Not really, she doesn’t dislike them either. We used to have dogs at home, but they were taken care of by the servants, and she rarely interacted with them.”
An Bu felt that this task would be somewhat challenging. How could she ignite the will to live in someone who had given up, someone whose mind was set on death?
Lost in thought, An Bu didn’t notice that Fu Junyao was staring at her intently.
The girl in front of him looked so much like Aunt Gu An, the former with a plain face, looking younger and prettier, while the latter was elegant and mature, with a hint of casualness and ease.
Since their last parting, Aunt Gu An had disappeared. Her phone couldn’t be reached, and she didn’t reply to emails. The promise to be their umbrella turned into a parachute, disappearing in the blink of an eye. Fu Junyao had been looking for her, but instead of finding her, he found a girl who looked so much like her.
He couldn’t help but wonder if she was Aunt Gu An, just well-preserved, ageless. Nowadays, many celebrities in their forties look the same as twenty-something girls, don’t they?
An Bu inquired about many things related to Qu Xiu, then said, “Let’s leave it at that for today. I’ll go back and do some research, and come see her again tomorrow.”
After saying goodbye, picking up her own bag, she prepared to leave.
“Miss An, it’s getting late, let me treat you to lunch.” Fu Junyao reached out for her bag, making a gesture of invitation.
“Mr. Fu is too polite.” An Bu politely declined, “I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t trouble Mr. Fu.”
Fu Junyao paused for a moment, but ultimately didn’t insist, personally seeing her out the door, then took out his phone and made a call…
Back home, An Bu’s first order of business was to flip through her diary, searching for memories related to the Fu family.
Qu Xiu was the wife of Fu Haiya, one of the seven founding members of Xin Qi. He also adopted a son and a daughter, Fu Junyao and Fu Hanshuang. “Gu An” was the second guardian of Fu Hanshuang, and also the second guardian of Luo Tianlei, the son of another deceased founding member of Xin Qi, Luo Tiancai.
If Qu Xiu unfortunately passed away, “Gu An” would formally take over the guardianship of Fu Hanshuang and Luo Tianlei. With them being two years away from adulthood, even if Qu Xiu could hold on until then, with her current health condition, she wouldn’t be capable of being a guardian anymore.
An Bu fell into silence for a moment, realizing that she probably thought she wouldn’t have the chance to be this guardian, so she agreed so readily. She hadn’t expected Qu Xiu to fall seriously ill and not make it even three years.
After storing away the diary, An Bu lay back on the bed, forming a “大” character with her body.
Jian Ningxuan walked in and saw An Bu doing a split: “What are you doing?”
An Bu rolled to the side, changing the “大” character into a “匕” character.
Jian Ningxuan: “…” Are you doing yoga again?
“Mr. Jian~~” An Bu jumped off the bed, hooking her arms around Jian Ningxuan’s neck, “I want to make you a love meal.”
Jian Ningxuan: Don’t hesitate.
“What kind of position do you like?”
Jian Ningxuan: Positions for a meal?
“Three-dimensional, flat, conservative, or bold?”
“…You decide.” Restraint limited his imagination.
That evening, An Bu slipped into the kitchen and began to prepare her “love meal.”
Seeing her arrangement with roses, candles, and soft music, creating such a romantic atmosphere, Jian Ningxuan went to change into a suit in his room, ready to enjoy the sweet candlelit dinner with her.
“Mr. Jian, your love meal~” An Bu placed the plate in front of Jian Ningxuan’s table, politely saying, “Please enjoy.”
Even though Jian Ningxuan had mentally prepared himself beforehand, he was still shocked when he saw the actual dish.
On the plate sat an oval-shaped white cake, with cream made into foam-like shapes. In the middle of the foam, there was a pair of fruit-carved figures, a man and a woman, their lower bodies hidden in the foam while their upper bodies were bare and facing each other. The fruit woman was slightly taller than the fruit man, with ample breasts right in front of the fruit man’s face, as if they were engaged in an indescribable act. Behind the fruit man and woman were two succulent red wine chicken wings. On one side of the cake stood a chocolate stick, with a heart-shaped potato carved at the tip, wrapped with strands of honey-dripped strings, cascading down like a waterfall. Rose petals were scattered around the edge of the plate as decoration.
“This meal is called ‘A Pair of Birds Flying Together,'” An Bu said contentedly. “What do you think, Mr. Jian?”
Jian Ningxuan: Isn’t this just… two bird people bathing together?
The cake is the bathtub, the cream is the foam, the chicken wings are wings, the chocolate stick is a sprayer, and the honey-dripped strings are the water flow.
Is Bu Bu implying something?
Seeing him silent, An Bu earnestly asked, “Mr. Jian, do you not like this pose?”
Jian Ningxuan: Is this a matter of pose? If I had known that Bu Bu’s love meal was of this style, why did he bother dressing so formally? He could have just worn a bathrobe.
Jian Ningxuan stood up, took off his jacket, loosened his tie, unbuttoned his collar, sat back down, picked up his knife and fork, and started eating.
An Bu held a glass of juice, smiling as she watched him enjoy the love meal she made. Indeed, feeding the cat master was the happiest thing when feeling down.
That night, without surprise, Jian Ningxuan and An Bu had a honey-sweet and spicy bath together.
The next day, the refreshed An Bu went straight to the pet store, picking and choosing, and finally bought a Czech Terrier that was ugly enough to make people cry.
An Bu held up the three-month-old Czech Terrier, vaguely seeing disdain in its flowing fur face.
An Bu: Looks this ugly and still dares to look down on others? Forget it, I won’t lower myself to its level, anyway, I’m not the one raising it.
The Czech Terrier is a small breed of dog, with a strange appearance and deep eyes. Its head is large, its body long, and its legs short. The fur on its face, jaw, and limbs is the thickest, making it look like it’s wearing a grass skirt. Although friendly to humans, it likes to challenge stronger opponents.
An Bu planned to use this Czech Terrier to stimulate Qu Xiu and see if she could add some fun to her life.
