Chapter 153 Killing Her

Su Lan and Su Mei were extremely worried but dared not disobey. They could only give Mingzhu a reassuring look and quietly withdraw.
Yuwen Chu glanced at Mingzhu, who had a sullen expression, and calmly sat down beside her without saying a word. He poured himself a cup of tea from the teapot and leisurely sipped it.
Mingzhu couldn’t stand his leisurely manner, so she snatched the teacup from his hand and said, “This is my tea!”
Yuwen Chu wasn’t angry either. He lazily stretched out his legs and leaned against the pillow, asking, “Why are you upset?”
Why was she upset? He asked her why she was upset? Mingzhu turned around and stared at him, half-smiling, half-serious, “Your Highness doesn’t understand?”
Yuwen Chu said, “I don’t understand. Waiting for you to tell me.”
Did she have to tell him that she resented Jiang Shanshan? Mingzhu couldn’t bring herself to say it. It was too petty and would show that she cared too much about him! After hesitating for a few moments, she said angrily, “Funing is too much!”
“Indeed,” Yuwen Chu agreed with a nod, then closed his eyes and remained silent.
After waiting for a while and not hearing him speak again, Mingzhu couldn’t bear it and leaned forward to pull him, “I’m tired and want to go back quickly. You go back to your carriage.”
“I’m staying here. Let them go.” Yuwen Chu finally answered her, but his eyes remained closed.
Mingzhu, feeling frustrated, sarcastically said, “Everyone rides their own horse. You have your carriage, and I have mine. You’re here, isn’t it improper?”
“In this world, there are many things that are improper. If we scrutinize them all, what joy is there in life? Besides, isn’t it the person with the highest status who sets the rules and etiquette? I say it’s proper, so it’s proper.” Yuwen Chu opened his eyes and looked at Mingzhu, seeing her face flushed with anger and her lips pouting, he couldn’t help but smile slightly and lowered his voice, “Why is Wangfei so angry?”
Mingzhu gave him a glare, “Who says I’m angry?”
“Of course you’re not angry. My Wangfei is the most generous and kind person, while others are the ones who are petty.” Yuwen Chu turned over, smiling at her and whispered softly, “When you and Mother reminisce about your childhood, laughing and harmonious like a mother and daughter, it’s not because you want to intentionally make some people feel bitter and uncomfortable, but because you genuinely want to please Mother and reassure me.”
“Of course! It’s filial piety! Besides, Royal Mother has always been good to me. I have a conscience! A conscience!” Mingzhu, feeling embarrassed and angry, with a hint of redness in her eyes, complained with a pout, “How can she be like this? Even if she likes Jiang Shanshan, she shouldn’t do this to me. I’ve always treated her like family. If it weren’t for this, for you, I would have smashed that bracelet right there!”
“Alright, you have a conscience. I know that.” Yuwen Chu’s expression softened, and he gently held her hand, whispering softly, “Since you remember fighting with Funing over the grasshopper, do you also remember who gave you that grasshopper and who made the grasshopper cage?”
What’s the point of bringing that up? Mingzhu disdainfully said, “Who remembers such trivial matters? I only remember that the grasshopper was originally mine, but Funing unreasonably wanted to take it from me. I’m not particularly fond of that grasshopper, but because she insisted on taking it, I felt it was more precious.”
When she realized that he couldn’t have asked this question without a reason, she couldn’t help but ask, “Could it be that the origin of the grasshopper and the cage is unusual?”
Yuwen Chu didn’t answer, asking in a low voice, “Are you saying that you’re upset not because you think it’s precious, but because someone tried to take it from you?”
Mingzhu blurted out, “Of course!” As the words came out, she suddenly felt the atmosphere in the carriage stagnate.
She was angry not because she valued him, but because Jiang Shanshan tried to take it. Yuwen Chu lowered his eyes, his long eyelashes covering his eyes, and a jade-like radiance shone on his fair face, cold and inviolable.
Although he was still gently caressing Mingzhu’s hand, and his actions hadn’t stopped or changed throughout, Mingzhu instinctively sensed that he was angry. Although she didn’t know why he suddenly got angry, it was obviously not the time to be stubborn. She had to coax Yuwen Chu to align with her to defeat Imperial Consort Min, Jiang Shanshan, and Funing.
Mingzhu blinked, pretending not to notice his anger, and reached back to hold his hand, then leaned against his shoulder, coquettishly saying, “You told me not to provoke Funing, but I can’t help but be angry with her! It’s one thing for her to snatch things from me when we were children, but now that we’re married, you’re my closest person, the father of my child, irreplaceable. Yet she actually wants to help others snatch you away! I can’t stand it!”
As she spoke, she peeked at Yuwen Chu’s expression through her eyelashes. Seeing the cold and inviolable look on his face gradually soften, and a smile slowly appear at the corner of his lips, she secretly thought, “He’s easily swayed,” but couldn’t help but complain that this man had too many thoughts and was too petty, which was exhausting.
“My child’s father?” Yuwen Chu had already lifted his eyes to look at her, smiling ambiguously, “Where’s the child?”
Mingzhu pressed her hand against her abdomen, whispering expectantly, “Maybe it’s already there?” She really hoped to conceive in one go, which would mean she could temporarily escape from her troubles. But thinking of her past life, where she had been married to Yuwen You for many years without having a child, she felt a bit uneasy. After the uneasiness passed, she thought about how she had once desperately wanted to have a child with Yuwen You, but later felt incredibly lucky that she didn’t, otherwise, what would happen to the child after her death?
So, life was difficult, today’s uncertainties, tomorrow’s uncertainties, it’s better to take it easy. Thinking of this, Mingzhu let go of this matter and smiled as she went to pour tea for Yuwen Chu, “Let’s not talk about this. It’s hot, have some tea.”
But Yuwen Chu didn’t take the tea, instead, he stared at her steadily, not reaching for the teacup. Mingzhu felt uncomfortable being stared at like that and couldn’t help but reach out to touch her face, “What’s wrong?”
“I was originally worried that you wouldn’t want to bear my child, but I didn’t expect you to be so eager. Since that’s the case, I’ll fulfill your wish.” Yuwen Chu chuckled, unceremoniously wrapping his arm around her waist and planting a loud kiss on her cheek.
Mingzhu startled, afraid of being heard by Su Lan and the others outside. She quickly recoiled and scolded in a low voice, “Behave yourself!”
“Where am I misbehaving?” Yuwen Chu seemed amused, his long and powerful arm wrapping around her relentlessly. He leaned close to her ear and whispered, “You were the one who mentioned not being able to tolerate others competing for me, and then you said you wanted to bear my child. And now you’re scolding me for being improper?”
The hot breath blew behind Mingzhu’s ear, making her flustered, her face red, and her ears hot. She just wanted to get away as quickly as possible, but Yuwen Chu refused to let her go. He maliciously bit her earlobe lightly and whispered, “This is the most sensitive spot for you, isn’t it?”
Mingzhu felt dry-mouthed and her heart seemed to want to leap out of her chest. Her hands and feet also felt weak. Full of resentment, she angrily said, “Is this how you show your love for me? What do you take me for? This is in the carriage, in public!”
“So, you mean we can continue when we get back?” Yuwen Chu wasn’t angry or annoyed, smiling as he grabbed one of her feet and took off her shoe and sock, then ran his fingers along her skin, saying slowly, “You’re my wife, married publicly, announced to the world and relatives. It’s the most legitimate thing. What’s wrong with wanting to be close to you? Who dares to say it’s wrong? Let them come out, I promise not to kill them!”
A hypocritical beast in human clothing! Mingzhu couldn’t argue with him, and dared not speak out in anger. As she raised her foot to kick him, he had already lunged at her, pinning her tightly down. Before she could curse at him, he fiercely bit her lip, causing Mingzhu to scream in pain. But he quickly let go of her, softly licking her lips, and whispered, “Do you want my child, or do you want to have a child with me?”
“What’s the difference?” Anyway, having a child with him was the same. Mingzhu was made uncomfortable by Yuwen Chu, her whole body tensed, and she stared at him alertly, saying, “Even if I wanted to have a child, I would never want it to happen in the carriage! If people find out, how can I preserve my dignity?”
“Well, there’s no difference. Anyway, the father of your child can only be me.” Yuwen Chu seemed not to hear her words, nor care about her attitude. He just smiled to himself, lowered his head to capture her lips, gently kissing her and letting his hands wander indecently.
Mingzhu was overwhelmed by his kiss, feeling angry and resentful. Whenever she had a chance, she gasped for air and exclaimed, “You’re all bullying me!” Her eyes reddened again, “What a stupid bracelet, making me feel like a joke! It’s because you insisted on marrying me, but it turned into me wronging Jiang Shanshan! Next step, are you going to take her as a concubine to compensate her?”
Yuwen Chu took her hand and kissed it gently, “If I told you there’s indeed such a plan, what would you do?”
Mingzhu immediately pounced on him angrily, “You better not! If she dares to come in, I’ll kill her! Do you believe me?”
Yuwen Chu agilely caught her hand, holding her firmly in his arms, and said with a smile, “So you love me this much? Are you so jealous? Who wanted to be a virtuous and gentle Wangfei? This doesn’t seem very virtuous and gentle, you know, being so jealous violates several rules.”
“I’m just that jealous!” Mingzhu’s wrist was held tightly by him, unable to move, but she was unwilling. She opened her mouth to bite him, “Anyone can do, just not her!” No matter what, he was hers now! Whoever dared to try, just come and see!
